1. அவன் நாட்களிலே பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் வந்தான்; யோயாக்கீம் மூன்று வருஷம் அவனைச் சேவித்து, பின்பு அவனுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கலகம்பண்ணினான்.

1. In his dayes came Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon vp, & Iehoakim became his seruaunt three yeres: and then turned, and rebelled against him.

2. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் கல்தேயரின் தண்டுகளையும், சீரியரின் தண்டுகளையும், மோவாபியரின் தண்டுகளையும், அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் தண்டுகளையும் அவன்மேல் வரவிட்டார்; தீர்க்கதரிசிகளாகிய தம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரரைக்கொண்டு கர்த்தர் சொன்ன வார்த்தையின்படியே அவர் அவைகளை யூதாவை அழிக்கும்படிக்கு வரவிட்டார்.

2. And the Lord sent against him bandes of the Chaldes, and bandes of the Syrians, and bandes of the Moabites, and bandes of the Ammonites: and sent them against Iuda to destroye it, according to the saying of the Lorde which he spake by his seruauntes the prophetes.

3. மனாசே தன் எல்லாச் செய்கைகளினாலும் செய்த பாவங்களினிமித்தம் யூதாவைத் தமது சமுகத்தை விட்டு அகற்றும்படி கர்த்தருடைய கட்டளையினால் அப்படி நடந்தது.

3. Onely at the bidding of the Lorde happened it so to Iuda, to put them out of his sight for the sinnes of Manasse, according to all that he did.

4. அவன் சிந்தின குற்றமற்ற இரத்தத்திற்காகவும் எருசலேமைக் குற்றமற்ற இரத்தத்தால் நிரப்பினதற்காகவும் கர்த்தர் மன்னிக்கச் சித்தமில்லாதிருந்தார்.

4. And for the innocent blood that he shed, and filled Hierusalem with innocent blood: and the Lorde would not be reconciled.

5. யோயாக்கீமின் மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்களும், அவன் செய்தவை யாவும், யூதாவுடைய ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புஸ்தகத்தில் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

5. The rest of the wordes that concerne Iehoakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the booke of the cronicles of the kinges of Iuda?

6. யோயாக்கீம் தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்தபின், அவன் குமாரனாகிய யோயாக்கீன் அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.

6. And so Iehoakim slept with his fathers: and Iehoachin his sonne raigned in his steade.

7. எகிப்தின் ராஜா அப்புறம் தன் தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு வரவில்லை; எகிப்தின் நதிதுவக்கி ஐபிராத்து நதிமட்டும் எகிப்தின் ராஜாவுக்கு இருந்த யாவையும் பாபிலோன் ராஜா பிடித்திருந்தான்.

7. And the king of Egypt came no more out of his lande: For the king of Babylon had taken from the ryuer of Egypt vnto the ryuer of Euphrates, all that pertayned to the king of Egypt.

8. யோயாக்கீன் ராஜாவாகிறபோது பதினெட்டு வயதாயிருந்து, எருசலேமிலே மூன்று மாதம் அரசாண்டான்; எருசலேம் ஊரானாகிய எல்நாத்தானின் குமாரத்தியான அவன் தாயின் பேர் நெகுஸ்தாள்.

8. Iehoachin was eighteene yeres olde when he began to raigne, and raigned in Hierusalem three monethes: His mothers name also was Nehusta, the daughter of Elnathan of Hierusalem.

9. அவன் தன் தகப்பன் செய்தபடியெல்லாம் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்.

9. And he did that which was euil in the sight of the Lorde, according to all as his father had done.

10. அக்காலத்திலே பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரின் சேவகர் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தார்கள்; நகரம் முற்றிக்கை போடப்பட்டது.

10. In that tyme came the seruauntes of Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon vp against Hierusalem, & the citie was besieged.

11. பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாருடைய சேவகர் நகரத்தை முற்றிக்கை போடுகையில் அவன் தானும் அதற்கு விரோதமாய் வந்தான்.

11. And Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon came against the citie, and his seruauntes did besiege it.

12. அப்பொழுது யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோயாக்கீனும், அவன் தாயும், அவன் ஊழியக்காரரும், அவன் பிரபுக்களும், பிரதானிகளும் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவினிடத்திற்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்; அவனைப் பாபிலோன் ராஜா தன் ஆளுகையின் எட்டாம் வருஷத்திலே பிடித்துக்கொண்டான்.

12. And Iehoachin the king of Iuda, came out to the king of Babylon, he and his mother, his seruauntes, his lordes, and his chamberlaynes: and the king of Babylon toke him in the eight yere of his raigne.

13. அங்கேயிருந்து கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் சகல பொக்கிஷங்களையும், ராஜாவுடைய அரமனையின் பொக்கிஷங்களையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் உண்டாக்கியிருந்த பொன் பணிமுட்டுகளையெல்லாம் கர்த்தர் சொல்லியிருந்தபடியே உடைத்துப்போட்டு,

13. And he carryed out thence al the treasures of the house of the Lorde, and the treasure of the kinges house, and brake al the vessels of golde which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the Lorde, as the Lorde had sayde.

14. எருசலேமியர் அனைவரும் சகல பிரபுக்களும் சகல பராக்கிரமசாலிகளுமாகிய பதினாயிரம்பேரையும், சகல தச்சரையும் கொல்லரையும் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்; தேசத்தில் ஏழை ஜனங்களே அல்லாமல் வேறொருவரும் மீதியாயிருக்கவில்லை.

14. And he carryed away all Hierusalem, and al the lordes, and all the strong men of warre, euen ten thousand, into captiuitie, and all the craftesmen, & kepers, none remaining saue the poore common people of the lande.

15. அவன் யோயாக்கீனையும், ராஜாவின் தாயையும், ராஜாவின் ஸ்திரீகளையும், அவன் பிரதானிகளையும், தேசத்தின் பராக்கிரமசாலிகளையும் எருசலேமிலிருந்து பாபிலோனுக்குச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்.

15. And he carryed away Iehoachin to Babylon, and the kinges mother, and the kinges wyues, his chamberlaynes: & them that were mightie in the lande those carryed he away into captiuitie, from Hierusalem to Babylon.

16. இப்படியே பாபிலோன் ராஜா பராக்கிரமசாலிகளான மனுஷராகிய ஏழாயிரம்பேரையும், தச்சரும் கொல்லருமாகிய ஆயிரம்பேரையும், யுத்தம்பண்ணத்தக்க பலசாலிகளையும் பாபிலோனுக்குச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்.

16. And all the actiue men of warre, euen seuen thousand, and craftesmen, and porters a thousand, all that were strong and apt for warre, did the king of Babylon bryng to Babylon captiue.

17. அவனுக்குப் பதிலாகப் பாபிலோன் ராஜா அவன் சிறிய தகப்பனாகிய மத்தனியாவை ராஜாவாக வைத்து, அவனுக்குச் சிதேக்கியா என்று மறுபேரிட்டான்.

17. And the king of Babylon made Mathania his fathers brother king in his steade, and chaunged his name to Zedekia.

18. சிதேக்கியா ராஜாவாகிறபோது இருபத்தொரு வயதாயிருந்து, பதினொருவருஷம் எருசலேமிலே அரசாண்டான்; லிப்னா ஊரானாகிய எரேமியாவின் குமாரத்தியான அவன் தாயின் பேர் அமுத்தாள்.

18. Zedekia was twentie and one yeres olde when he began to raigne, and he raigned aleuen yeres in Hierusalem: His mothers name also was Hamital, the daughter of Ieremia of Libna.

19. யோயாக்கீம் செய்தபடியெல்லாம் அவனும் கர்த்தருடைய பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்.

19. And he did euill in the sight of the Lorde, according to all as Iehoachin had done.

20. எருசலேமையும் யூதாவையும் கர்த்தர் தம்முடைய சமுகத்தைவிட்டு அகற்றித் தீருமளவும், அவைகளின்மேலுள்ள அவருடைய கோபத்தினால் இப்படி நடந்ததும் அல்லாமல், சிதேக்கியா பாபிலோனிலே ராஜாவுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கலகமும்பண்ணினான்.

20. For the wrath of the Lorde was moued against Hierusalem & Iuda, vntill he cast them out of his sight: And Zedekia rebelled against the king of Babylon.
