1. பின்பு தேவன் நோவாவையும், அவன் குமாரரையும் ஆசீர்வதித்து: நீங்கள் பலுகிப் பெருகி, பூமியை நிரப்புங்கள்.

1. So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth;

2. உங்களைப்பற்றிய பயமும் அச்சமும் பூமியிலுள்ள சகல மிருகங்களுக்கும், ஆகாயத்திலுள்ள சகல பறவைகளுக்கும் உண்டாயிருக்கும்; பூமியிலே நடமாடுகிற யாவும், சமுத்திரத்தின் மச்சங்கள் யாவும், உங்களுக்குக் கையளிக்கப்பட்டன.

2. and let the fear of you and the dread of you be upon every living creature of the earth, and upon every bird of the heavens, over everything that moveth along on the ground, and over all the fishes of the sea, into your hand, have they been given.

3. நடமாடுகிற ஜீவஜந்துக்கள் யாவும், உங்களுக்கு ஆகாரமாய் இருப்பதாக; பசும் பூண்டுகளை உங்களுக்குத் தந்தது போல, அவைகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் உங்களுக்குத் தந்தேன்.

3. As for every moving thing that hath life, yours, shall it be, for food, Like the green herb, have I given you all things.

4. மாம்சத்தை அதின் உயிராகிய இரத்தத்தோடே புசிக்கவேண்டாம்.

4. Yet flesh with the life thereof, the bleed thereof, shall ye not eat;

5. உங்களுக்கு உயிராயிருக்கிற உங்கள் இரத்தத்திற்காகப் பழிவாங்குவேன்; சகல ஜீவஜந்துக்களிடத்திலும் மனுஷனிடத்திலும் பழிவாங்குவேன்; மனுஷனுடைய உயிருக்காக அவனவன் சகோதரனிடத்தில் பழிவாங்குவேன்.

5. And surely your blood, of your lives, will I require, From the hand of every living creature, will I require it, and from the hand of man From the hand of each ones brother, will I require the life of man:

6. மனுஷன் தேவசாயலில் உண்டாக்கப்பட்டபடியால், மனுஷனுடைய இரத்தத்தை எவன் சிந்துகிறானோ, அவனுடைய இரத்தம் மனுஷனாலே சிந்தப்படக்கடவது.

6. He that sheddeth man's blood, by man, shall his blood be shed, For, in the image of God, made he man.

7. நீங்கள் பலுகிப் பெருகி, பூமியிலே திரளாய் வர்த்தித்து விர்த்தியாகுங்கள் என்றார்.

7. Ye, therefore, be fruitful and multiply, swarm in the earth and multiply therein.

8. பின்னும் தேவன் நோவாவையும், அவன் குமாரரையும் நோக்கி:

8. And God spake unto Noah, and unto his sons with him saying:

9. நான் உங்களோடும், உங்களுக்குப் பின்வரும் உங்கள் சந்ததியோடும்,

9. I, therefore, behold me! establishing my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

10. உங்களோடே பேழையிலிருந்து புறப்பட்ட சகல ஜீவஜந்துக்கள்முதல் இனிப் பூமியில் உண்டாகப்போகிற சகல ஜீவஜந்துக்கள்பரியந்தம், பறவைகளோடும், நாட்டு மிருகங்களோடும், உங்களிடத்தில் இருக்கிற பூமியிலுள்ள சகல காட்டு மிருகங்களோடும் என் உடன்படிக்கையை ஏற்படுத்துகிறேன்.

10. and with every living soul that is with you, of birds, of tame-beasts and of all wild-beasts of the earth that are with you, of all coming forth out of the ark, even to all wild-beasts of the earth;

11. இனி மாம்சமானவைகளெல்லாம் ஜலப்பிரளயத்தினால் சங்கரிக்கப்படுவதில்லையென்றும், பூமியை அழிக்க இனி ஜலப்பிரளயம் உண்டாவதில்லையென்றும், உங்களோடே என் உடன்படிக்கையை ஏற்படுத்துகிறேன் என்றார்.

11. yea, I will establish my covenant with you, so that all flesh shall not be cut off any more, by reason of the waters of a flood, neither shall there he any more a flood to destroy the earth.

12. அன்றியும் தேவன்: எனக்கும் உங்களுக்கும், உங்களிடத்தில் இருக்கும் சகல ஜீவஜந்துக்களுக்கும், நித்திய தலைமுறைகளுக்கென்று நான் செய்கிற உடன்படிக்கையின் அடையாளமாக:

12. And God said, This, is the sign of the covenant which I am granting betwixt me and you, and every living soul that is with you, to age-abiding generations:

13. நான் என் வில்லை மேகத்தில் வைத்தேன்; அது எனக்கும் பூமிக்கும் உண்டான உடன்படிக்கைக்கு அடையாளமாயிருக்கும்.

13. My bow, have I set in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant, betwixt me and the earth;

14. நான் பூமிக்கு மேலாய் மேகத்தை வருவிக்கும்போது, அந்த வில் மேகத்தில் தோன்றும்.

14. and it shall be when I draw a veil of cloud over the earth, and the bow in the cloud appeareth,

15. அப்பொழுது எல்லா மாம்சஜீவன்களையும் அழிக்க இனி ஜலமானது பிரளயமாய்ப் பெருகாதபடிக்கு எனக்கும் உங்களுக்கும் மாம்சமான சகல ஜீவஜந்துக்களுக்கும் உண்டான என் உடன்படிக்கையை நினைவுகூருவேன்.

15. then will I remember my covenant which is betwixt me and you, and every living soul among all flesh, that the waters may no more become a flood, to destroy all flesh:

16. அந்த வில் மேகத்தில் தோன்றும்போது, தேவனுக்கும் பூமியின்மேலுள்ள சகலவித மாம்சஜீவன்களுக்கும் உண்டான நித்திய உடன்படிக்கையை நான் நினைவுகூரும்படிக்கு அதை நோக்கிப்பார்ப்பேன்.

16. so the bow shall be in the cloud, and I will behold it, to remember an age-abiding covenant, between God, and every living soul among all flesh that is on the earth.

17. இது எனக்கும், பூமியின்மேலுள்ள மாம்சமான யாவுக்கும், நான் ஏற்படுத்தின உடன்படிக்கையின் அடையாளம் என்று நோவாவோடே சொன்னார்.

17. And God said unto Noah, This is the sign of the covenant which have established, between me and all flesh that is on the earth.

18. பேழையிலிருந்து புறப்பட்ட நோவாவின் குமாரர், சேம், காம், யாப்பேத் என்பவர்களே. காம் கானானுக்குத் தகப்பன்.

18. And the sons of Noah who came forth out of the ark, were Shem and Ham and Japheth, now, Ham, was the father of Canaan.

19. இம்மூவரும் நோவாவின் குமாரர்; இவர்களாலே பூமியெங்கும் ஜனங்கள் பரம்பினார்கள்.

19. These three, were the sons of Noah, and from these, was all the earth overspread.

20. நோவா பயிரிடுகிறவனாகி, திராட்சத்தோட்டத்தை நாட்டினான்.

20. And Noah began to he a husbandman, so he planted a vineyard:

21. அவன் திராட்சரசத்தைக் குடித்து, வெறிகொண்டு, தன் கூடாரத்தில் வஸ்திரம் விலகிப் படுத்திருந்தான்.

21. and dank of the wine and became drunk, and uncovered himself in the midst of his tent.

22. அப்பொழுது கானானுக்குத் தகப்பனாகிய காம் தன் தகப்பனுடைய நிர்வாணத்தைத் கண்டு, வெளியில் இருந்த தன் சகோதரர் இருவருக்கும் அறிவித்தான்.

22. And Ham the father of Canaan saw his father's shame, and told his two brethren outside.

23. அப்பொழுது சேமும், யாப்பேத்தும் ஒரு வஸ்திரத்தை எடுத்துத் தங்கள் இருவருடைய தோள்மேலும் போட்டுக்கொண்டு, பின்னிட்டு வந்து, தங்கள் தகப்பனுடைய நிர்வாணத்தை மூடினார்கள்; அவர்கள் எதிர்முகமாய்ப் போகாதபடியினால், தங்கள் தகப்பனுடைய நிர்வாணத்தைக் காணவில்லை.

23. And Shem and Japheth took a mantle, and put it on the shoulder of them both and went backwards, and covered the shame of their father, but their faces were backwards, and the shame of their father, saw they not.

24. நோவா திராட்சரசத்தின் வெறி தெளிந்து விழித்தபோது, தன் இளையகுமாரன் தனக்குச் செய்ததை அறிந்து:

24. And Noah awoke from his wine, and came to know what his youngest sore had done to him.

25. கானான் சபிக்கப்பட்டவன், தன் சகோதரரிடத்தில் அடிமைகளுக்கு அடிமையாயிருப்பான் என்றான்.

25. And he said, Accursed be Canaan, a servant of servants, shall he be to his brethren!

26. சேமுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம் உண்டாவதாக; கானான் அவனுக்கு அடிமையாயிருப்பான்.

26. And he said, Blessed be Yahweh, God of Shem, And let Cantata he their servant:

27. யாப்பேத்தை தேவன் விர்த்தியாக்குவார்; அவன் சேமுடைய கூடாரங்களில் குடியிருப்பான்; கானான் அவனுக்கு அடிமையாயிருப்பான் என்றான்.

27. God give extension to Japheth, But make his habitation in the tents of Shem, And let Canaan be their servant.

28. ஜலப்பிரளயத்துக்குப்பின்பு நோவா முந்நூற்று ஐம்பது வருஷம் உயிரோடிருந்தான்.

28. And Noah lived after the flood, three hundred and fifty years:

29. நோவாவின் நாட்களெல்லாம் தொளாயிரத்து ஐம்பது வருஷம்; அவன் மரித்தான்.

29. so, all the days of Noah, were nine hundred and fifty years, and he died.
