1. ஈசாக்கு முதிர்வயதானதினால் அவன் கண்கள் இருளடைந்து பார்வையற்றுப் போனபோது, அவன் தன் மூத்த குமாரனாகிய ஏசாவை அழைத்து, என் மகனே என்றான்; அவன், இதோ, இருக்கிறேன் என்றான்.

1. And it came to passe that Isaac wexed olde and his eyes were dymme so that he coude nat see. Tha called he Esau his eldest sonne and sayde vnto him: mi sonne. And he sayde vnto hym: heare am I.

2. அப்பொழுது அவன்: நான் முதிர்வயதானேன், என் மரணம் இன்ன நாளில் என்று அறியேன்.

2. And he sayde: beholde I am olde ad knowe not the daye of mi deth:

3. ஆகையால், நீ உன் ஆயுதங்களாகிய உன் அம்பறாத்தூணியையும் உன் வில்லையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு வனத்துக்குப்போய், எனக்காக வேட்டையாடி,

3. Now therfore take thi weapes thy quiver and thi bowe and gett the to the feldes and take me some venyson

4. அதை எனக்குப் பிரியமாயிருக்கிற ருசியுள்ள பதார்த்தங்களாகச் சமைத்து, நான் புசிக்கவும், நான் மரணமடையுமுன்னே என் ஆத்துமா உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கவும், என்னிடத்தில் கொண்டுவா என்றான்.

4. and make me meate such as I loue and brynge it me and let me eat that my soull may blesse the before that I dye:

5. ஈசாக்கு தன் குமாரனாகிய ஏசாவோடே பேசுகையில், ரெபெக்காள் கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தாள். ஏசா வேட்டையாடிக்கொண்டுவரும்படி வனத்துக்குப் போனான்.

5. But Rebecca hard whe Isaac spake to Esau his sonne. And as soone as Esau was gone to the felde to catche venyson and to brige it

6. அப்பொழுது ரெபெக்காள் தன் குமாரனாகிய யாக்கோபை நோக்கி: உன் தகப்பன் உன் சகோதரனாகிய ஏசாவை அழைத்து:

6. she spake vnto Iacob hir sonne sainge? Behold I haue herde thi father talkinge with Esau thy brother and saynge:

7. நான் புசித்து, எனக்கு மரணம் வருமுன்னே, கர்த்தரை முன்னிட்டு உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும்படி, நீ எனக்காக வேட்டையாடி, அதை எனக்கு ருசியுள்ள பதார்த்தங்களாகச் சமைத்துக்கொண்டுவா என்று சொல்லக்கேட்டேன்.

7. bringe me venyson and make me meate that I maye eate and blesse the before the LORde yer I dye.

8. ஆகையால், என் மகனே, என் சொல்லைக் கேட்டு, நான் உனக்குக் கற்பிக்கிறபடி செய்.

8. Now therfore my sonne heare my voyce in that which I comaunde the:

9. நீ ஆட்டுமந்தைக்குப் போய், இரண்டு நல்ல வெள்ளாட்டுக்குட்டிகளைக் கொண்டுவா; நான் அவைகளை உன் தகப்பனுக்குப் பிரியமானபடி ருசியுள்ள பதார்த்தங்களாகச் சமைப்பேன்.

9. gett the to the flocke and bringe me thece .ij. good kiddes and I will make meate of the for thi father soch as he loueth.

10. உன் தகப்பன் தாம் மரணமடையுமுன்னே உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்குபடி அவர் புசிப்பதற்கு நீ அதை அவரிடத்தில் கொண்டுபோகவேண்டும் என்றாள்.

10. And thou shalt brige it to thi father and he shal eate yt he maye blysse the before his deth

11. அதற்கு யாக்கோபு தன் தாயாகிய ரெபெக்காளை நோக்கி: என் சகோதரனாகிய ஏசா ரோமம் மிகுந்தவன், நான் ரோமமில்லாதவன்.

11. Than sayde Iacob to Rebecca his mother. Beholde Esau mi brother is rugh and I am smooth.

12. ஒருவேளை என் தகப்பன் என்னைத்தடவிப்பார்ப்பார்; அப்பொழுது நான் அவருக்கு எத்தனாய்க் காணப்பட்டு, என்மேல் ஆசீர்வாதத்தை அல்ல, சாபத்தை வரப்பண்ணிக்கொள்வேனே என்றான்.

12. Mi father shal peradueture fele me ad I shal seme vnto hi as though I wet aboute to begyle hi and so shall he brige a curse vpo me and not a blessige:

13. அதற்கு அவன் தாய்: என் மகனே, உன்மேல் வரும் சாபம் என்மேல் வரட்டும்; என் சொல்லைமாத்திரம் கேட்டு, நீ போய், அவைகளை என்னிடத்தில் கொண்டுவா என்றாள்.

13. and his mother saide vnto him. Vppo me be thi curse my sonne only heare my voyce and goo and fetch me them.

14. அவன் போய் அவைகளைப் பிடித்து, தன் தாயினிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்தான்; அவனுடைய தாய் அவன் தகப்பனுக்குப்பிரியமானபடி ருசியுள்ள பதார்த்தங்களைச் சமைத்தாள்.

14. And Iacob went ad fett them and brought them to his mother.And his mother made meate of them accordinge as his father loued

15. பின்பு, ரெபெக்காள் வீட்டிலே தன்னிடத்தில் இருந்த தன் மூத்த மகனாகிய ஏசாவின் நல்ல வஸ்திரங்களை எடுத்து, தன் இளைய மகனாகிய யாக்கோபுக்கு உடுத்தி,

15. And she went and fett goodly rayment of hir eldest sonne Esau which she had in the house with hir and put them vpon Iacob hir yongest sonne

16. வெள்ளாட்டுக்குட்டிகளின் தோலை அவன் கைகளிலேயும் ரோமமில்லாத அவன் கழுத்திலேயும் போட்டு;

16. ad she put the skynnes vpon his hades and apon the smooth of his necke.

17. தான் சமைத்த ருசியுள்ள பதார்த்தங்களையும் அப்பங்களையும் தன் குமாரனாகிய யாக்கோபின் கையிலே கொடுத்தாள்.

17. And she put ye meate and brede which she had made in the hode of hir sonne Iacob

18. அவன் தன் தகப்பனிடத்தில் வந்து, என் தகப்பனே என்றான்; அதற்கு அவன்: இதோ, இருக்கிறேன்; நீ யார், என் மகனே என்றான்.

18. And he went in to his father saynge: my father And he aswered: here am I who art thou my sonne?

19. அப்பொழுது யாக்கோபு தன் தகப்பனை நோக்கி: நான் உமது மூத்த மகனாகிய ஏசா; நீர் எனக்குச் சொன்னபடியே செய்தேன்; உம்முடைய ஆத்துமா என்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும்படி, நீர் எழுந்து உட்கார்ந்து, நான் வேட்டையாடிக்கொண்டு வந்ததைப் புசியும் என்றான்.

19. And Iacob sayde vnto his father: I am Esau thy eldest sonne I haue done acordinge as thou baddest me vp and sytt and eate of my venyson that thi soule maye blesse me.

20. அப்பொழுது ஈசாக்குத் தன் குமாரனை நோக்கி: என் மகனே, இது உனக்கு இத்தனை சீக்கிரமாய் எப்படி அகப்பட்டது என்றான். அவன்: உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் எனக்கு நேரிடப்பண்ணினார் என்றான்.

20. But Isaac sayde vnto his sonne. How cometh it that thou hast fownde it so quicly my sonne? He answered: The LORde thy god brought it to my hande.

21. அப்பொழுது ஈசாக்கு யாக்கோபை நோக்கி: என் மகனே, நீ என் குமாரனாகிய ஏசாதானோ அல்லவோ என்று நான் உன்னைத் தடவிப்பார்க்கும்படி கிட்ட வா என்றான்.

21. Than sayde Isaac vnto Iacob: come nere and let me fele the my sonne whether thou be my sonne Esau or not.

22. யாக்கோபு தன் தகப்பனாகிய ஈசாக்கண்டையில் கிட்டப் போனான்; அவன் இவனைத் தடவிப்பார்த்து: சத்தம் யாக்கோபின் சத்தம், கைகளோ ஏசாவின் கைகள் என்று சொல்லி,

22. Than went Iacob to Isaac his father and he felt him and sayde the voyce is Iacobs voyce but the hades ar ye hades of Esau.

23. அவனுடைய கைகள் அவன் சகோதரனாகிய ஏசாவின் கைகளைப்போல ரோமமுள்ளவைகளாயிருந்தபடியினாலே, இன்னான் என்று அறியாமல், அவனை ஆசீர்வதித்து,

23. And he knewe him not because his handes were rough as his brother Esaus handes: And so he blessed him.

24. நீ என் குமாரனாகிய ஏசாதானோ என்றான்; அவன்: நான்தான் என்றான்.

24. And he axed him art thou my sonne Esau? And he sayde: that I am.

25. அப்பொழுது அவன்: என் குமாரனே, நீ வேட்டையாடிக் கொண்டுவந்ததை நான் புசித்து, என் ஆத்துமா உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும்படி அதை என்கிட்டக் கொண்டுவா என்றான்; அவன் அதைக் கிட்டக் கொண்டுபோனான்; அப்பொழுது அவன் புசித்தான்; பிற்பாடு, திராட்சரசம் அவனுக்குக் கொண்டுவந்து கொடுத்தான், அவன் குடித்தான்.

25. Than sayde he: brynge me and let me eate of my sonnes venyson that my soule maye blesse the. And he broughte him and he ate. And he broughte him wyne also and he dranke.

26. அப்பொழுது அவன் தகப்பானாகிய ஈசாக்கு அவனை நோக்கி: என் மகனே, நீ கிட்ட வந்து என்னை முத்தஞ்செய் என்றான்.

26. And his father Isaac sayde vnto him: come nere and kysse me my sonne.

27. அவன் கிட்டப் போய், அவனை முத்தஞ்செய்தான்; அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய வஸ்திரங்களின் வாசனையை மோந்து: இதோ, என் குமாரனுடைய வாசனை கர்த்தர் ஆசீர்வதித்த வயல்வெளியின் வாசனையைப்போல் இருக்கிறது.

27. And he wet to him and kissed him. And he smelled ye sauoure of his raymet and blessed hi and sayde See ye smell of my sone is as ye smell of a feld which the lorde hath blessed.

28. தேவன் உனக்கு வானத்துப் பனியையும் பூமியின் கொழுமையையும் கொடுத்து, மிகுந்த தானியத்தையும் திராட்சரசத்தையும் தந்தருளுவாராக.

28. God geue the of ye dewe of heave and of the fatnesse of the erth and pletie of corne and wyne.

29. ஜனங்கள் உன்னைச் சேவிக்கவும் ஜாதிகள் உன்னை வணங்கவும்கடவர்கள்; உன் சகோதரருக்கு எஜமானாயிருப்பாய்; உன் தாயின் பிள்ளைகள் உன்னை வணங்குவார்கள்; உன்னைச் சபிக்கிறவர்கள் சபிக்கப்பட்டவர்களும், உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறவர்கள் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவர்களுமாய் இருப்பார்கள் என்று சொல்லி அவனை ஆசீர்வதித்தான்.

29. People be thy servauntes and natios bowe vnto the. Be lorde ouer thy brethre and thy mothers children stoupe vnto the. Cursed be he yt curseth the and lessed be he that blesseth the.

30. ஈசாக்கு யாக்கோபை ஆசீர்வதித்து முடிந்தபோது, யாக்கோபு தன் தகப்பனாகிய ஈசாக்கின் சமுகத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டவுடனே, அவன் சகோதரனாகிய ஏசா வேட்டையாடி வந்து சேர்ந்தான்.

30. As soone as Isaac had made an end of blessig Iacob and Iacob was scace gone out fro the preasence of Isaac his father: then came Esau his brother fro his huntynge:

31. அவனும் ருசியுள்ள பதார்த்தங்களைச் சமைத்து, தன் தகப்பனண்டைக்குக் கொண்டுவந்து, தகப்பனை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய ஆத்துமா என்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும்படி, என் தகப்பனார் எழுந்திருந்து, உம்முடைய குமாரனாகிய நான் வேட்டையாடிக் கொண்டுவந்ததைப் புசிப்பாராக என்றான்.

31. And had made also meate and brought it in vnto his father and sayde vnto him: Aryse my father and eate of thy sonnes venyson that thy soule maye blesse me.

32. அப்பொழுது அவன் தகப்பனாகிய ஈசாக்கு: நீ யார் என்றான்; அதற்கு அவன்: நான் உமது மூத்த மகனாகிய ஏசா என்றான்.

32. Tha his father Isaac sayde vnto him. Who art thou? he answered I am thy eldest sonne Esau.

33. அப்பொழுது ஈசாக்கு மிகவும் பிரமித்து நடுங்கி: வேட்டையாடி எனக்குக் கொண்டுவந்தானே, அவன் யார்? நீ வருமுன்னே அவையெல்லாவற்றிலும் நான் புசித்து அவனை ஆசீர்வதித்தேனே, அவன் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவனாகவும் இருப்பான் என்றான்.

33. And Isaac was greatly astoyned out of mesure and sayde: Where is he then that hath huted venyson and broughte it me and I haue eaten of all before thou camest and haue blessed him ad he shall be blessed styll.

34. ஏசா தன் தகப்பனுடைய வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டவுடனே, மிகவும் மனங்கசந்து உரத்த சத்தமிட்டு அலறி, தன் தகப்பனை நோக்கி: என் தகப்பனே, என்னையும் ஆசீர்வதியும் என்றான்.

34. Whe Esau herde the wordes of his father he cryed out greatly and bitterly aboue mesure and sayde vnto his father: blesse me also my father.

35. அதற்கு அவன்: உன் சகோதரன் தந்திரமாய் வந்து, உன்னுடைய ஆசீர்வாதத்தைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்டான் என்றான்.

35. And he sayde thy brother came with subtilte ad hath take awaye thy blessynge.

36. அப்பொழுது அவன்: அவன் பெயர் யாக்கோபு என்னப்படுவது சரியல்லவா? இதோடே இரண்டுதரம் என்னை மோசம் போக்கினான்; என் சேஷ்ட புத்திரபாகத்தை எடுத்துக்கொண்டான்; இதோ, இப்பொழுது என் ஆசீர்வாதத்தையும் வாங்கிக்கொண்டான் என்று சொல்லி, நீர் எனக்கு ஒரு ஆசீர்வாதத்தையாகிலும் வைத்துவைக்கவில்லையா என்றான்.

36. Than sayde he: He maye well be called Iacob for he hath vndermyned me now .ij. tymes fyrst he toke awaye my byrthrighte: and se now hath he taken awaye my blessynge also. And he sayde hast thou kepte neuer a blessynge for me?

37. ஈசாக்கு ஏசாவுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: இதோ, நான் அவனை உனக்கு எஜமானாக வைத்தேன்; அவன் சகோதரர் எல்லாரையும் அவனுக்கு ஊழியக்காரராகக் கொடுத்து, அவனைத் தானியத்தினாலும் திராட்சரசத்தினாலும் ஆதரித்தேன்; இப்பொழுதும் என் மகனே, நான் உனக்கு என்னசெய்வேன் என்றான்.

37. Isaac answered and sayde vnto Esau: beholde I haue made him thi LORde and all his mothers childern haue I made his seruauntes. Moreouer wyth corne ad wyne haue I stablesshed him what ca I do vnto the now my sonne?

38. ஏசா தன் தகப்பனை நோக்கி: என் தகப்பனே, இந்த ஒரே ஆசீர்வாதம் மாத்திரமா உம்மிடத்தில் உண்டு? என் தகப்பனே, என்னையும் ஆசீர்வதியும் என்று சொல்லி, ஏசா சத்தமிட்டு அழுதான்.

38. And Esau sayde vnto his father? hast thou but yt one blessynge my father? blesse me also my father: so lyfted vp Esau his voyce and wepte

39. அப்பொழுது அவன் தகப்பனாகிய ஈசாக்கு அவனுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: உன் வாசஸ்தலம் பூமியின் சாரத்தோடும் உயர வானத்திலிருந்து இறங்கும் பனியோடும் இருக்கும்.

39. Tha Isaac his father answered and sayde vnto himBeholde thy dwellynge place shall haue of the fatnesse of the erth and of the dewe of heauen fro aboue.

40. உன் பட்டயத்தினாலே நீ பிழைத்து, உன் சகோதரனைச் சேவிப்பாய்; நீ மேற்கொள்ளும் காலம் வரும்போதோ, உன் கழுத்தில் இருக்கிற அவனுடைய நுகத்தடியை முறித்துப்போடுவாய் என்றான்.

40. And wyth thy swerde shalt thou lyue and shalt be thy brothers seruaunte But the tyme will come when thou shalt gett the mastrye and lowse his yocke from of thy necke.

41. யாக்கோபைத் தன் தகப்பன் ஆசீர்வதித்ததினிமித்தம் ஏசா யாக்கோபைப் பகைத்து: என் தகப்பனுக்காகத் துக்கிக்கும் நாட்கள் சீக்கிரமாய் வரும், அப்பொழுது என் சகோதரனாகிய யாக்கோபைக் கொன்றுபோடுவேன் என்று ஏசா தன் இருதயத்திலே சொல்லிக்கொண்டான்.

41. And Esau hated Iacob because of the blessynge yt his father blessed him with all and sayde in his harte: The dayes of my fathers sorowe are at hade for I will sley my brother Iacob.

42. மூத்த மகனாகிய ஏசாவின் வார்த்தைகள் ரெபெக்காளுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது; அப்பொழுது அவள் தன் இளைய மகனாகிய யாக்கோபை அழைத்து: உன் சகோதரனாகிய ஏசா உன்னைக் கொன்றுபோட நினைத்து, தன்னைத் தேற்றிக்கொள்ளுகிறான்.

42. And these wordes of Esau hir eldest sonne were told to Rebecca. And she sente ad called Iacob hir yongest sonne and sayde vnto hi: beholde thy brother Esau threatneth to kyll the:

43. ஆகையால், என் மகனே, நான் சொல்வதைக் கேட்டு, எழுந்து புறப்பட்டு, ஆரானில் இருக்கிற என் சகோதரனாகிய லாபானிடத்துக்கு ஓடிப்போய்,

43. Now therfore my sone heare my voyce make the redie and flee to Laba my brother at Haran

44. உன் சகோதரன் உன்மேல் வைத்த கோபம் தணியுமட்டும் சிலநாள் அவனிடத்திலே இரு.

44. And tarie with him a while vntill thy brothers fearsnes be swaged and

45. உன் சகோதரன் உன்மேல் வைத்த கோபம் தணிந்து, நீ அவனுக்குச் செய்ததை அவன் மறந்தபின், நான் ஆள் அனுப்பி, அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து உன்னை அழைப்பிப்பேன்; நான் ஒரே நாளில் உங்கள் இருவரையும் ஏன் இழந்துபோகவேண்டும் என்றாள்.

45. vntill thy brothers wrath turne away from the and he forgett that which thou hast done to him. Tha will I sende and fett the awaye from thence. Why shulde I lose you both in one daye.

46. பின்பு, ரெபெக்காள் ஈசாக்கை நோக்கி: ஏத்தின் குமாரத்திகளினிமித்தம் என் உயிர் எனக்கு வெறுப்பாயிருக்கிறது; இந்தத் தேசத்துப் பெண்களாகிய ஏத்தின் குமாரத்திகளில் யாக்கோபு ஒரு பெண்ணைக் கொள்வானானால் என் உயிர் இருந்து ஆவதென்ன என்றாள்.

46. And Rebecca spake to Isaac: I am wery of my life for feare of the doughters of Heth. Yf Iacob take a wife of the doughters of Heth soch one as these are or of the doughters of the lande what lust shulde I haue to lyue.
