1. அப்பொழுது லேவியரின் வம்சப்பிதாக்களின் தலைவர்; கானான்தேசத்திலிருக்கிற சீலோவிலே ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாரிடத்திலும், நூனின் குமாரனாகிய யோசுவாவினிடத்திலும், இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருடைய கோத்திரப் பிதாக்களிலுள்ள தலைவரிடத்திலும் சேர்ந்துவந்து:

1. Then the heads of the families of the Levites came to the priest Eleazar and to Joshua son of Nun and to the heads of the families of the tribes of the Israelites;

2. நாங்கள் குடியிருக்கும் பட்டணங்களையும், எங்கள் மிருகஜீவனுக்காக வெளிநிலங்களையும் எங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கும்படி, கர்த்தர் மோசேயைக்கொண்டு கட்டளையிட்டாரே என்றார்கள்.

2. they said to them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, The LORD commanded through Moses that we be given towns to live in, along with their pasture lands for our livestock.

3. So by command of the LORD the Israelites gave to the Levites the following towns and pasture lands out of their inheritance.

4. The lot came out for the families of the Kohathites. So those Levites who were descendants of Aaron the priest received by lot thirteen towns from the tribes of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin.

5. The rest of the Kohathites received by lot ten towns from the families of the tribe of Ephraim, from the tribe of Dan, and the half-tribe of Manasseh.

6. The Gershonites received by lot thirteen towns from the families of the tribe of Issachar, from the tribe of Asher, from the tribe of Naphtali, and from the half-tribe of Manasseh in Bashan.

8. These towns and their pasture lands the Israelites gave by lot to the Levites, as the LORD had commanded through Moses.

9. Out of the tribe of Judah and the tribe of Simeon they gave the following towns mentioned by name,

10. which went to the descendants of Aaron, one of the families of the Kohathites who belonged to the Levites, since the lot fell to them first.

11. They gave them Kiriath-arba (Arba being the father of Anak), that is Hebron, in the hill country of Judah, along with the pasture lands around it.

12. But the fields of the town and its villages had been given to Caleb son of Jephunneh as his holding.

13. To the descendants of Aaron the priest they gave Hebron, the city of refuge for the slayer, with its pasture lands, Libnah with its pasture lands,

14. Jattir with its pasture lands, Eshtemoa with its pasture lands,

15. Holon with its pasture lands, Debir with its pasture lands,

16. Ain with its pasture lands, Juttah with its pasture lands, and Beth-shemesh with its pasture lands-- nine towns out of these two tribes.

17. பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்திலே அவர்களுக்குக் கிபியோனையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும் கேபாவையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும்,

17. Out of the tribe of Benjamin: Gibeon with its pasture lands, Geba with its pasture lands,

18. ஆனதோத்தையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும், அல்மோனையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும் கொடுத்தார்கள்; இந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் நாலு.

18. Anathoth with its pasture lands, and Almon with its pasture lands-- four towns.

19. ஆசாரியரான ஆரோனுடைய குமாரரின் பட்டணங்களெல்லாம் அவைகளின் வெளிநிலங்களுட்பட பதின்மூன்று.

19. The towns of the descendants of Aaron-- the priests-- were thirteen in all, with their pasture lands.

20. லேவியரான கோகாத்தின் புத்திரரில் மீதியான அவர்களுடைய மற்ற வம்சங்களுக்கு எப்பிராயீம் கோத்திரத்திலே அவர்களுக்குப் பங்குவீதமாக அவர்கள் கொடுத்த பட்டணங்களாவன:

20. As to the rest of the Kohathites belonging to the Kohathite families of the Levites, the towns allotted to them were out of the tribe of Ephraim.

21. கொலைசெய்தவனுக்கு அடைக்கலப்பட்டணமான எப்பிராயீமின் மலைத்தேசத்தில் இருக்கிற சீகேமையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும், கேசேரையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும்,

21. To them were given Shechem, the city of refuge for the slayer, with its pasture lands in the hill country of Ephraim, Gezer with its pasture lands,

22. கிப்சாயீமையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும், பெத்தொரோனையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்கள்; இந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் நாலு.

22. Kibzaim with its pasture lands, and Beth-horon with its pasture lands-- four towns.

23. தாண் கோத்திரத்திலே எல்தெக்கேயையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும், கிபெத்தோனையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும்,

23. Out of the tribe of Dan: Elteke with its pasture lands, Gibbethon with its pasture lands,

24. ஆயலோனையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும், காத்ரிம்மோனையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்கள்; இந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் நாலு.

24. Aijalon with its pasture lands, Gath-rimmon with its pasture lands-- four towns.

25. மனாசேயின் பாதிக் கோத்திரத்திலே தானாகையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும், காத்ரிம்மோனையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்கள்; இந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் இரண்டு.

25. Out of the half-tribe of Manasseh: Taanach with its pasture lands, and Gath-rimmon with its pasture lands-- two towns.

26. கோகாத் புத்திரரின் மீதியான வம்சங்களுக்கு உண்டான பட்டணங்களெல்லாம் அவைகளின் வெளிநிலங்களுட்பட பத்து.

26. The towns of the families of the rest of the Kohathites were ten in all, with their pasture lands.

27. லேவியரின் வம்சங்களிலே கெர்சோன் புத்திரருக்கு மனாசேயின் பாதிக் கோத்திரத்தில் கொலை செய்தவனுக்கு அடைக்கலப்பட்டணமான பாசானிலுள்ள கோலானையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும், பெயேஸ்திராவையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும் கொடுத்தார்கள்; இந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் இரண்டு.

27. To the Gershonites, one of the families of the Levites, were given out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan with its pasture lands, the city of refuge for the slayer, and Beeshterah with its pasture lands-- two towns.

28. இசக்காரின் கோத்திரத்திலே கீசோனையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும், தாபராத்தையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும்,

28. Out of the tribe of Issachar: Kishion with its pasture lands, Daberath with its pasture lands,

29. Jarmuth with its pasture lands, En-gannim with its pasture lands-- four towns;

30. ஆசேரின் கோத்திரத்திலே மிஷயாலையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும், அப்தோனையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும்,

30. Out of the tribe of Asher: Mishal with its pasture lands, Abdon with its pasture lands,

31. எல்காத்தையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும், ரேகோபையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும் கொடுத்தார்கள்; இந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் நாலு.

31. Helkath with its pasture lands, and Rehob with its pasture lands-- four towns.

32. நப்தலி கோத்திரத்திலே கொலைசெய்தவனுக்கு அடைக்கலப்பட்டணமாக கலிலேயாவிலுள்ள கேதேசையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும், அம்மோத்தோரையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும், கர்தானையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும் கொடுத்தார்கள்; இந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் மூன்று.

32. Out of the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee with its pasture lands, the city of refuge for the slayer, Hammoth-dor with its pasture lands, and Kartan with its pasture lands-- three towns.

33. கெர்சோனியருக்கு அவர்கள் வம்சங்களின்படி உண்டான பட்டணங்களெல்லாம் அவைகளின் வெளிநிலங்களுட்பட பதின்மூன்று.

33. The towns of the several families of the Gershonites were in all thirteen, with their pasture lands.

34. மற்ற லேவியராகிய மெராரி புத்திரரின் வம்சங்களுக்குச் செபுலோன் கோத்திரத்திலே யொக்னியாமையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும், கர்தாவையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும்,

34. To the rest of the Levites-- the Merarite families-- were given out of the tribe of Zebulun: Jokneam with its pasture lands, Kartah with its pasture lands,

35. திம்னாவையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும், நகலாலையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும் கொடுத்தார்கள்; இந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் நாலு.

35. Dimnah with its pasture lands, Nahalal with its pasture lands-- four towns.

36. ரூபன் கோத்திரத்திலே பேசேரையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும், யாகசாவையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும்,

36. Out of the tribe of Reuben: Bezer with its pasture lands, Jahzah with its pasture lands,

37. கெதெமோத்தையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும், மெபாகாத்தையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும் கொடுத்தார்கள்; இந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் நாலு.

37. Kedemoth with its pasture lands, and Mephaath with its pasture lands-- four towns.

38. காத் கோத்திரத்திலே கொலை செய்தவனுக்கு அடைக்கலப்பட்டணமாக, கீலேயாத்திலுள்ள ராமோத்தையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும், மக்னாயீமையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும்,

38. Out of the tribe of Gad: Ramoth in Gilead with its pasture lands, the city of refuge for the slayer, Mahanaim with its pasture lands,

39. எஸ்போனையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும், யாசேரையும் அதின் வெளிநிலங்களையும் கொடுத்தார்கள்; இந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் நாலு.

39. Heshbon with its pasture lands, Jazer with its pasture lands-- four towns in all.

40. இவைகளெல்லாம் லேவியரின் மற்றவம்சங்களாகிய மெராரி புத்திரருக்கு, அவர்கள் வம்சங்களின்படி கிடைத்த பட்டணங்கள்; அவர்களுடைய பங்குவீதம் பன்னிரண்டு பட்டணங்கள்.

40. As for the towns of the several Merarite families, that is, the remainder of the families of the Levites, those allotted to them were twelve in all.

41. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருடைய காணியாட்சியின் நடுவிலே இருக்கிற லேவியரின் பட்டணங்களெல்லாம், அவைகளின் வெளிநிலங்களுட்பட நாற்பத்தெட்டு.

41. The towns of the Levites within the holdings of the Israelites were in all forty-eight towns with their pasture lands.

42. இந்தப் பட்டணங்களில் ஒவ்வொன்றிற்கும் அததைச் சூழ்ந்த வெளிநிலங்கள் இருந்தது; எல்லாப் பட்டணங்களுக்கும் அப்படியே இருந்தது.

42. Each of these towns had its pasture lands around it; so it was with all these towns.

43. இந்தப்பிரகாரமாகக் கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேலுக்குக் கொடுப்பேன் என்று அவர்களுடைய பிதாக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்ட தேசத்தையெல்லாம் கொடுத்தார்; அவர்கள் அவைகளைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொண்டு, அவைகளிலே குடியிருந்தார்கள்.

43. Thus the LORD gave to Israel all the land that he swore to their ancestors that he would give them; and having taken possession of it, they settled there.

44. கர்த்தர் அவர்களுடைய பிதாக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்டபடியெல்லாம் அவர்களைச் சுற்றிலும் யுத்தமில்லாமல் இளைப்பாறப்பண்ணினார்; அவர்களுடைய எல்லாச் சத்துருக்களிலும் ஒருவரும் அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக நிற்கவில்லை; அவர்கள் சத்துருக்களையெல்லாம் கர்த்தர் அவர்கள் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.

44. And the LORD gave them rest on every side just as he had sworn to their ancestors; not one of all their enemies had withstood them, for the LORD had given all their enemies into their hands.

45. கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தாருக்குச் சொல்லியிருந்த நல்வார்த்தைகளிலெல்லாம் ஒரு வார்த்தையும் தவறிப்போகவில்லை; எல்லாம் நிறைவேறிற்று.

45. Not one of all the good promises that the LORD had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.
