1. ஓரேபிலே இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரோடே பண்ணிக்கொண்ட உடன்படிக்கையை அல்லாமல், மோவாபின் தேசத்திலே அவர்களோடே உடன்படிக்கைபண்ணக் கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட வார்த்தைகள் இவைகளே.

1. These [are] the words of the covenant which Jehovah hath commanded Moses to make with the sons of Israel in the land of Moab, apart from the covenant which He made with them in Horeb.

2. மோசே இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாரையும் வரவழைத்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி: எகிப்து தேசத்தில் உங்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகப் பார்வோனுக்கும் அவனுடைய எல்லா ஊழியக்காரருக்கும் அவனுடைய தேசமுழுவதற்கும்,

2. And Moses calleth unto all Israel, and saith unto them, 'Ye -- ye have seen all that which Jehovah hath done before your eyes in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land;

3. கர்த்தர் செய்த பெரிய சோதனைகளையும், பெரிய அடையாளங்களையும், அற்புதங்களையும் கண்ணாரக் கண்டீர்களே.

3. the great trials which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great wonders;

4. ஆகிலும் கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்கு உணரத்தக்க இருதயத்தையும், காணத்தக்க கண்களையும், கேட்கத்தக்க காதுகளையும் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் கொடுக்கவில்லை.

4. and Jehovah hath not given to you a heart to know, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, till this day,

5. கர்த்தராகிய நான் உங்கள் தேவன் என்று நீங்கள் அறிந்துகொள்ளும்படிக்கு, நான் நாற்பது வருஷம் உங்களை வனாந்தரத்தில் நடத்தினேன்; உங்கள் மேலிருந்த வஸ்திரம் பழையதாய்ப் போகவும் இல்லை, உங்கள் காலிலிருந்த பாதரட்சைகள் பழையதாய்ப் போகவும் இல்லை.

5. and I cause you to go forty years in a wilderness; your garments have not been consumed from off you, and thy shoe hath not worn away from off thy foot;

6. நீங்கள் அப்பம் சாப்பிடவும் இல்லை, திராட்சரசமும், மதுவும் குடிக்கவும் இல்லை என்றார்.

6. bread ye have not eaten, and wine and strong drink ye have not drunk, so that ye know that I [am] Jehovah your God.

7. நீங்கள் இவ்விடத்துக்கு வந்தபோது, எஸ்போனின் ராஜாவாகிய சீகோனும், பாசானின் ராஜாவாகிய ஓகும் நம்மோடே யுத்தஞ்செய்யப் புறப்பட்டார்கள்; நாம் அவர்களை முறிய அடித்து,

7. 'And ye come in unto this place, and Sihon king of Heshbon -- also Og king of Bashan -- doth come out to meet us, to battle, and we smite them,

8. அவர்களுடைய தேசத்தைப் பிடித்து, அதை ரூபனியருக்கும் காத்தியருக்கும் மனாசேயின் பாதிக் கோத்திரத்திற்கும் சுதந்தரமாகக் கொடுத்தோம்.

8. and take their land, and give it for an inheritance to the Reubenite, and to the Gadite, and to the half of the tribe of Manasseh;

9. இப்பொழுதும் நீங்கள் செய்வதெல்லாம் உங்களுக்கு வாய்க்கும்படிக்கு, இந்த உடன்படிக்கையின் வார்த்தைகளைக் கைக்கொண்டு, அவைகளின்படி செய்வீர்களாக.

9. and ye have kept the words of this covenant, and done them, so that ye cause all that ye do to prosper.

10. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குச் சொன்னபடியேயும், உன் பிதாக்களாகிய ஆபிரகாமுக்கும் ஈசாக்குக்கும் யாக்கோபுக்கும் ஆணையிட்டுக் கொடுத்தபடியேயும், இன்று உன்னைத் தமக்கு ஜனமாக ஏற்படுத்திக்கொள்ளவும், தாம் உனக்கு தேவனாயிருக்கவும்,

10. 'Ye are standing to-day, all of you, before Jehovah your God -- your heads, your tribes, your elders, and your authorities -- every man of Israel;

11. நீ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய உடன்படிக்கைக்கும் இன்று அவர் உன்னோடே பண்ணுகிற அவருடைய ஆணையுறுதிக்கும் உட்படும்படிக்கு,

11. your infants, your wives, and thy sojourner who [is] in the midst of thy camps, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water --

12. உங்கள் கோத்திரங்களின் தலைவரும் உங்கள் மூப்பரும் உங்கள் அதிபதிகளும் இஸ்ரவேலின் சகல புருஷரும்,

12. for thy passing over into the covenant of Jehovah thy God, and into His oath which Jehovah thy God is making with thee to-day;

13. உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளும், உங்கள் மனைவிகளும், உங்கள் பாளயத்துக்குள்ளிருக்கிற உங்கள் விறகுக்காரனும், உங்கள் தண்ணீர்க்காரனுமான அந்நியர் எல்லாரும் இன்று உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய சமுகத்தில் நிற்கிறீர்களே.

13. in order to establish thee to-day to Him for a people, and He Himself is thy God, as He hath spoken to thee, and as He hath sworn to thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

14. நான் உங்களோடேமாத்திரம் இந்த உடன்படிக்கையையும் இந்த ஆணையையும் உறுதியையும் பண்ணாமல்,

14. 'And not with you alone am I making this covenant and this oath;

15. இன்று இங்கே நம்மோடேகூட நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய சமுகத்தில் நிற்கிறவர்களோடேயும், இன்று இங்கே நம்மோடே இராதவர்களோடேயும் கூட அதைப் பண்ணுகிறேன்.

15. but with him who is here with us, standing to-day before Jehovah our God, and with him who is not here with us to-day,

16. நாம் எகிப்து தேசத்தில் குடியிருந்ததையும், நாம் கடந்துவந்த இடங்களிலிருந்த ஜாதிகளின் நடுவில் நடந்துவந்ததையும் நீங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்.

16. for ye have known how ye dwelt in the land of Egypt, and how we passed by through the midst of the nations which ye have passed by;

17. அவர்களுடைய அருவருப்புகளையும், அவர்களிடத்திலிருக்கிற மரமும் கல்லும் வெள்ளியும் பொன்னுமான அவர்களுடைய நரகலான தேவர்களையும் கண்டிருக்கிறீர்கள்.

17. and ye see their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which [are] with them,

18. ஆகையால், அந்த ஜாதிகளின் தேவர்களைச் சேவிக்கப் போகும்படி, இன்று நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை விட்டு அகலுகிற இருதயமுள்ள ஒரு புருஷனாகிலும் ஸ்திரீயாகிலும் குடும்பமாகிலும் கோத்திரமாகிலும் உங்களில் இராதபடிக்கும், நஞ்சையும் எட்டியையும் முளைப்பிக்கிற யாதொரு வேர் உங்களில் இராதபடிக்கும் பாருங்கள்.

18. lest there be among you a man or woman, or family or tribe, whose heart is turning to-day from Jehovah our God, to go to serve the gods of those nations, lest there be in you a root fruitful of gall and wormwood:

19. அப்படிப்பட்டவன் இந்த ஆணையுறுதியின் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டும், தாகத்தினிமித்தம் வெறிக்கக் குடித்து, மன இஷ்டப்படி நடந்தாலும் எனக்குச் சுகமுண்டாயிருக்கும் என்று தன் உள்ளத்தைத் தேற்றிக்கொண்டால், கர்த்தர் அவனை மன்னிக்கச் சித்தமாயிரார்.

19. 'And it hath been, in his hearing the words of this oath, and he hath blessed himself in his heart, saying, I have peace, though in the stubbornness of my heart I go on, in order to end the fulness with the thirst.

20. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தரின் கோபமும் எரிச்சலும் அந்த மனிதன்மேல் புகையும்; இந்தப் புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிற சாபங்களெல்லாம் அவன்மேல் தங்கும்; கர்த்தர் அவன் பேரை வானத்தின்கீழ் இராதபடிக்குக் குலைத்துப்போடுவார்.

20. Jehovah is not willing to be propitious to him, for then doth the anger of Jehovah smoke, also His zeal, against that man, and lain down on him hath all the oath which is written in this book, and Jehovah hath blotted out his name from under the heavens,

21. இந்த நியாயப்பிரமாண புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிற உடன்படிக்கையினுடைய சகல சாபங்களின்படியும் அவனுக்குத் தீங்காக கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேல் கோத்திரங்கள் எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் அவனைப் புறம்பாக்கிப்போடுவார்.

21. and Jehovah hath separated him for evil, out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the oaths of the covenant which is written in this book of the law.

22. அப்பொழுது உங்களுக்குப்பின் எழும்பும் தலைமுறையான உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளும், தூரதேசத்திலிருந்து வரும் அந்நியரும், கர்த்தர் இந்த தேசத்துக்கு வருவித்த வாதைகளையும் நோய்களையும் காணும்போதும்,

22. 'And the latter generation of your sons who rise after you, and the stranger who cometh in from a land afar off, have said when they have seen the strokes of that land, and its sicknesses which Jehovah hath sent into it, --

23. கர்த்தர் தமது கோபத்திலும் தமது உக்கிரத்திலும் சோதோமையும், கோமோராவையும், அத்மாவையும், செபோயீமையும் கவிழ்த்துப்போட்டதுபோல, இந்த தேசத்தின் நிலங்களெல்லாம் விதைப்பும் விளைவும் யாதொரு பூண்டின் முளைப்பும் இல்லாதபடிக்கு, கந்தகத்தாலும், உப்பாலும் எரிக்கப்பட்டதைக் காணும்போதும்,

23. ([with] brimstone and salt is the whole land burnt, it is not sown, nor doth it shoot up, nor doth there go up on it any herb, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboim, which Jehovah overturned in His anger, and in His fury,) --

24. அந்த ஜாதிகளெல்லாம் கர்த்தர் இந்த தேசத்திற்கு ஏன் இப்படிச் செய்தார்; இந்த மகா கோபம் பற்றியெரிந்ததற்குக் காரணம் என்ன என்று சொல்லுவார்கள்.

24. yea, all the nations have said, Wherefore hath Jehovah done thus to this land? what the heat of this great anger?

25. அதற்கு: அவர்களுடைய பிதாக்களின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அவர்களை எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினபோது, அவர்களோடே பண்ணின உடன்படிக்கையை அவர்கள் விட்டுப்போய்,

25. 'And they have said, Because that they have forsaken the covenant of Jehovah, God of their fathers, which He made with them in His bringing them out of the land of Egypt,

26. தாங்கள் அறியாமலும் தங்களுக்கு ஒரு பலனும் அளிக்காமலும் இருக்கிற தேவர்களாகிய வேறே தேவர்களைச் சேவித்து, அவைகளைப் பணிந்துகொண்டபடியினாலே,

26. and they go and serve other gods, and bow themselves to them -- gods which they have not known, and which He hath not apportioned to them;

27. கர்த்தர் இந்தப் புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிற சாபங்கள் எல்லாவற்றையும் இந்தத் தேசத்தின்மேல் வரப்பண்ண, அதின்மேல் கோபம் மூண்டவராகி,

27. and the anger of Jehovah burneth against that land, to bring in on it all the reviling that is written in this book,

28. அவர்களைக் கோபத்தினாலும் உக்கிரத்தினாலும் மகா எரிச்சலினாலும் அவர்களுடைய தேசத்திலிருந்து வேரோடே பிடுங்கி, இந்நாளில் இருக்கிறதுபோல, அவர்களை வேறே தேசத்தில் எறிந்துவிட்டார் என்று சொல்லப்படும்.

28. and Jehovah doth pluck them from off their ground in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath, and doth cast them unto another land, as [at] this day.

29. மறைவானவைகள் நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கே உரியவைகள்; வெளிப்படுத்தப்பட்டவைகளோ, இந்த நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின் வார்த்தைகளின்படியெல்லாம் செய்யும்படிக்கு, நமக்கும் நம்முடைய பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் என்றென்றைக்கும் உரியவைகள்.

29. 'The things hidden [are] to Jehovah our God, and the things revealed [are] to us and to our sons -- to the age, to do all the words of this law.
