1. அக்காலத்திலே கர்த்தர் என்னை நோக்கி: நீ முந்தினவைகளுக்கொத்த இரண்டு கற்பலகைகளை வெட்டிக்கொண்டு, மலையின்மேல் ஏறி, என்னிடத்தில் வா; ஒரு மரப்பெட்டியையும் செய்வாயாக.

1. In the same season the LORD said unto me: hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first and come up unto me into the mount and make thee an Ark of wood,

2. நீ உடைத்துப்போட்ட முந்தின பலகைகளில் இருந்த வார்த்தைகளை நான் அந்தப் பலகைகளில் எழுதுவேன்; நீ அவைகளைப் பெட்டியிலே வைப்பாயாக என்றார்.

2. and I will write in the table, the words that were in the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark.

3. அப்படியே நான் சீத்திம் மரத்தினால் ஒரு பெட்டியைச் செய்து, முந்தினவைகளுக்கொத்த இரண்டு கற்பலகைகளை வெட்டி, அவைகளை என் கையிலே எடுத்துக்கொண்டு மலையில் ஏறினேன்.

3. And I made an ark of sethim wood and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mountain and the two tables in mine hand.

4. முன்னே சபைகூடிவந்த நாளில் கர்த்தர் மலையில் அக்கினி நடுவிலிருந்து உங்களுக்கு விளம்பின பத்துக்கற்பனைகளையும் அவர் முன் எழுதியிருந்த பிரகாரம் அந்தப் பலகைகளில் எழுதி, அவைகளை என்னிடத்தில் தந்தார்.

4. And he wrote in the tables, according to the first writing (the ten verses which the LORD spake unto you in the mount out of the fire in the day when the people were gathered) (together) and gave them unto me.

5. அப்பொழுது நான் திரும்பி மலையிலிருந்து இறங்கி, அந்தப் பலகைகளை நான் செய்த பெட்டியிலே வைத்தேன்; கர்த்தர் எனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே அவைகள் அதிலே வைத்திருக்கிறது.

5. And I departed and came down from the hill and put the tables in the ark which I had made: and there they remained, as the LORD commanded me.

6. பின்பு இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் பெனெயாக்கானுக்கடுத்த பேரோத்திலேயிருந்து மோசெராவுக்குப் பிரயாணம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அங்கே ஆரோன் மரித்து அடக்கம்பண்ணப்பட்டான்; அவன் ஸ்தானத்திலே அவன் குமாரனாகிய எலெயாசார் ஆசாரியனானான்.

6. And the children of Israel took their journey from Beroth Ben(of the children of) Jaken to Mosera, where Aaron died and where he was buried, and Eleazer his son became priest in his stead.

7. அங்கேயிருந்து குத்கோதாவுக்கும், குத்கோதாவிலிருந்து ஆறுகளுள்ள நாடாகிய யோத்பாத்துக்கும் பிரயாணம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

7. And from thence they departed unto Gudgod: and from Gudgod to Jathbath, a land of rivers of water.

8. அக்காலத்திலே கர்த்தருடைய உடன்படிக்கைப் பெட்டியைச் சுமப்பதற்கும், இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் நடந்துவருகிறதுபோல, கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியிலே நின்று அவருக்கு ஆராதனை செய்வதற்கும், அவர் நாமத்தைக்கொண்டு ஆசீர்வதிப்பதற்கும், கர்த்தர் லேவியின் கோத்திரத்தைப் பிரித்தெடுத்தார்.

8. And the same season the LORD separated the tribe of Levi to bear the ark of the appointment of the LORD and to stand before the LORD, and to minister unto him and to bless in his name unto this day.

9. ஆகையால் லேவிக்கு அவன் சகோதரரோடே பங்கும் சுதந்தரமும் இல்லை; உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அவனுக்குச் சொன்னபடியே, கர்த்தரே அவனுக்குச் சுதந்தரம்.

9. Wherefore the Levites have no part nor inheritance with their brethren. The LORD he is their inheritance, as the LORD thy God hath promised them.

10. நான் முந்தின பிரகாரமாகவே நாற்பது நாள் இரவும் பகலும் மலையில் இருந்தேன்; கர்த்தர் அந்த முறையும் என் மன்றாட்டைக் கேட்டு, உன்னை அழிக்காமல் விட்டார்.

10. And I tarried in the mount, even as at the first time forty days and forty nights, and the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also, so that the LORD would not destroy thee.

11. கர்த்தர் என்னை நோக்கி: நான் கொடுப்பேன் என்று அவர்களுடைய பிதாக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்ட தேசத்தில் அவர்கள் போய் அதைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளும்படி, நீ எழுந்து, ஜனத்திற்கு முன்பாகப் பிரயாணப்பட்டுப் போ என்றார்.

11. And the LORD said unto me: up and go forth in the journey before the people and let them go in and conquer the land which I sware unto their fathers to give unto them.

12. இப்பொழுதும் இஸ்ரவேலே, நீ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து, அவர் வழிகளிலெல்லாம் நடந்து, அவரிடத்தில் அன்புகூர்ந்து, உன் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் உன் முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும் உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரைச் சேவித்து,

12. And now Israel what is it that the LORD thy God requireth of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God and to walk in all his ways and to love him and to serve the LORD thy God with all thine heart and with all thy soul,

13. நான் இன்று உனக்குக் கற்பிக்கிற கர்த்தருடைய கற்பனைகளையும் அவருடைய கட்டளைகளையும் உனக்கு நன்மையுண்டாகும்படி கைக்கொள்ளவேண்டும் என்பதையே அல்லாமல், வேறே எதை உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னிடத்தில் கேட்கிறார்.

13. that thou keep the commandments of the LORD and his ordinances which I command thee this day, for thy wealth.

14. இதோ, வானங்களும் வானாதிவானங்களும், பூமியும் அதிலுள்ள யாவும், உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடையவைகள்.

14. Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD's thy God, and the earth with all that therein is:

15. ஆனாலும் கர்த்தர் உன் பிதாக்கள்மேல் அன்புகூரும்பொருட்டு அவர்களிடத்தில் பிரியம் வைத்து, அவர்களுக்குப் பின் அவர்களுடைய சந்ததியாகிய உங்களை, இந்நாளில் இருக்கிறபடியே, சகல ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளும் தமக்கென்று தெரிந்துகொண்டார்.

15. only the LORD had a lust unto thy fathers to love them, and therefore chose you their seed after them of all nations, as it is come to pass this day

16. ஆகையால் நீங்கள் இனி உங்கள் பிடரியைக் கடினப்படுத்தாமல், உங்கள் இருதயத்தின் நுனித்தோலை விருத்தசேதனம்பண்ணுங்கள்.

16. Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your hearts, and be no longer stiffnecked.

17. உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தேவாதி தேவனும், கர்த்தாதி கர்த்தரும், மகத்துவமும் வல்லமையும் பயங்கரமுமான தேவனுமாயிருக்கிறார்; அவர் பட்சபாதம்பண்ணுகிறவரும் அல்ல, பரிதானம் வாங்குகிறவரும் அல்ல.

17. For the LORD your God, he is God of gods(God of goddes) and Lord of lords,(lorde of lordes) a great God, a mighty and a terrible which regardeth no man's person nor taketh gifts:

18. அவர் திக்கற்ற பிள்ளைக்கும் விதவைக்கும் நியாயஞ்செய்கிறவரும், அந்நியன்மேல் அன்புவைத்து அவனுக்கு அன்னவஸ்திரம் கொடுக்கிறவருமாய் இருக்கிறார்.

18. but doeth right unto the fatherless and widow and loveth the stranger, to give him food and raiment.

19. நீங்களும் எகிப்துதேசத்தில் அந்நியராயிருந்தபடியால், அந்நியரைச் சிநேகிப்பீர்களாக.

19. Love therefore the stranger, for ye were strangers your selves in the land of Egypt.

20. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து, அவரைச் சேவித்து, அவரைப் பற்றிக்கொண்டிருந்து, அவருடைய நாமத்தைக்கொண்டு ஆணையிடுவாயாக.

20. Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God and serve him and cleave unto him and swear by his name,

21. அவரே உன் புகழ்ச்சி; உன் கண்கண்ட இந்தப் பெரிய பயங்கரமான காரியங்களை உன்னிடத்தில் செய்த உன்தேவன் அவரே.

21. for he is thy praise and he is thy God that hath done these great and terrible things for thee, which thine eyes have seen.

22. உன் பிதாக்கள் எழுபதுபேராய் எகிப்துக்குப் போனார்கள்; இப்பொழுதோ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னைத் திரட்சியிலே வானத்தின் நட்சத்திரங்களைப்போலாக்கினார்.

22. Thy fathers went down into Egypt with seventy souls, and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven in multitude.
