13. And Zerubbabel begot Abiud, Abiud begot Eliakim, and Eliakim begot Azor.

14. And Azor begot Sadok, Sadok begot Achim, and Achim begot Eliud.

15. எலியூத் எலெயாசாரைப் பெற்றான்; எலெயாசார் மாத்தானைப் பெற்றான்; மாத்தான் யாக்கோபைப் பெற்றான்;

15. And Eliud begot Eleazar, Eleazar begot Matthan, and Matthan begot Jacob.

16. யாக்கோபு மரியாளுடைய புருஷனாகிய யோசேப்பைப் பெற்றான்; அவளிடத்தில் கிறிஸ்து என்னப்படுகிற இயேசு பிறந்தார்.

16. And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ.

17. இவ்விதமாய் உண்டான தலைமுறைகளெல்லாம் ஆபிரகாம்முதல் தாவீதுவரைக்கும் பதினாலு தலைமுறைகளும்; தாவீதுமுதல் பாபிலோனுக்குச் சிறைப்பட்டுப்போன காலம்வரைக்கும் பதினாலு தலைமுறைகளும்; பாபிலோனுக்குச் சிறைப்பட்டுப்போன காலமுதல் கிறிஸ்துவரைக்கும் பதினாலு தலைமுறைகளுமாம்.

17. So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, from David until the deportation into Babylon are fourteen generations, and from the deportation into Babylon until the Christ are fourteen generations.

18. Now the birth of Jesus Christ was in this way: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child from the Holy Spirit.

19. But Joseph her husband, being just, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.

20. But while he was pondering these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.

21. அவள் ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெறுவாள், அவருக்கு இயேசு என்று பேரிடுவாயாக; ஏனெனில் அவர் தமது ஜனங்களின் பாவங்களை நீக்கி அவர்களை இரட்சிப்பார் என்றான்.

21. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.

22. So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:

23. Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bring forth a Son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which is translated, God with us.

24. யோசேப்பு நித்திரைதெளிந்து எழுந்து, கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் தனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே தன் மனைவியைச் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டு;

24. Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife,

25. அவள் தன் முதற்பேறான குமாரனைப் பெறுமளவும் அவளை அறியாதிருந்து, அவருக்கு இயேசு என்று பேரிட்டான்.

25. and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name JESUS.
