1. கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீயும், எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து நீ அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வந்த ஜனங்களும் இவ்விடத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு. உன் சந்ததிக்குக் கொடுப்பேன் என்று நான் ஆபிரகாமுக்கும் ஈசாக்குக்கும் யாக்கோபுக்கும் ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுத்த பாலும் தேனும் ஓடுகிற தேசத்துக்குப் போங்கள்.

1. Afterward the Lord sayd vnto Moses, Depart, goe vp from hence, thou, and the people (which thou hast brought vp out of lande of Egypt) vnto the lande which I sware vnto Abraham, to Izhak and to Iaakob, saying, Vnto thy seede will I giue it.

2. நான் ஒரு தூதனை உங்களுக்கு முன்பாக அனுப்பி, கானானியனையும் எமோரியனையும் ஏத்தியனையும் பெரிசியனையும் ஏவியனையும் எபூசியனையும் துரத்திவிடுவேன்.

2. And I will send an Angel before thee and will cast out the Canaanites, the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, the Hiuites, and the Iebusites:

3. ஆனாலும், வழியிலே நான் உங்களை நிர்மூலம்பண்ணாதபடிக்கு, நான் உங்கள் நடுவே செல்லமாட்டேன், நீங்கள் வணங்காக்கழுத்துள்ள ஜனங்கள் என்றார்.

3. To a lande, I say, that floweth with milke and hony: for I will not goe vp with thee, because thou art a stiffe necked people, least I consume thee in the way.

4. துக்கமான இவ்வார்த்தைகளை ஜனங்கள் கேட்டபோது, ஒருவரும் தங்கள் ஆபரணங்களைப் போட்டுக்கொள்ளாமல் துக்கித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

4. And when the people heard this euill tydings, they sorowed, and no man put on his best rayment.

5. ஏனென்றால், நீங்கள் வணங்காக்கழுத்துள்ள ஜனங்கள், நான் ஒரு நிமிஷத்தில் உங்கள் நடுவில் எழும்பி, உங்களை நிர்மூலம்பண்ணுவேன்; ஆகையால், நீங்கள் போட்டிருக்கிற உங்கள் ஆபரணங்களைக் கழற்றிப்போடுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது நான் உங்களுக்குச் செய்யவேண்டியதை அறிவேன் என்று இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்குச் சொல் என்று கர்த்தர் மோசேயோடே சொல்லியிருந்தார்.

5. (For the Lord had said to Moses, Say vnto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiffe necked people, I wil come suddenly vpon thee, and consume thee: therefore now put thy costly rayment from thee, that I may know what to do vnto thee)

6. ஆகையால், இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் ஓரேப் மலையருகே தங்கள் ஆபரணங்களைக் கழற்றிப்போட்டார்கள்.

6. So the children of Israel layed their good raiment from them, after Moses came downe from the mount Horeb.

7. மோசே கூடாரத்தைப் பெயர்த்து, அதைப் பாளயத்துக்குப் புறம்பே தூரத்திலே போட்டு, அதற்கு ஆசரிப்புக்கூடாரம் என்று பேரிட்டான். கர்த்தரைத்தேடும் யாவரும் பாளயத்துக்குப் புறம்பான ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்துக்குப் போவார்கள்.

7. Then Moses tooke his tabernacle, and pitched it without the host farre off from the hoste, and called it Ohel-moed. And whe any did seeke to the Lord, he went out vnto the Tabernacle of the Congregation, which was without the hoste.

8. மோசே கூடாரத்துக்குப் போகும்போது, ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் எழுந்திருந்து, தங்கள் தங்கள் கூடாரவாசலில் நின்றுகொண்டு, அவன் கூடாரத்துக்குள் பிரவேசிக்குமட்டும், அவன் பின்னே பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

8. And when Moses went out vnto the Tabernacle, all the people rose vp, and stood euery man at his tent doore, and looked after Moses, vntil he was gone into the Tabernacle.

9. மோசே கூடாரத்துக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கையில், மேகஸ்தம்பம் இறங்கி, கூடாரவாசலில் நின்றது; கர்த்தர் மோசேயோடே பேசினார்.

9. And assoone as Moses was entred into the Tabernacle, the cloudie pillar descended and stood at the doore of the Tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses.

10. ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் மேகஸ்தம்பம் கூடாரவாசலில் நிற்கக்கண்டார்கள்; ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் எழுந்திருந்து, தங்கள் தங்கள் கூடாரவாசலில் பணிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.

10. Nowe when all the people saw the cloudie pillar stand at the Tabernacle doore, all the people rose vp, and worshipped euery man in his tent doore.

11. ஒருவன் தன் சிநேகிதனோடே பேசுவதுபோல, கர்த்தர் மோசேயோடே முகமுகமாய்ப் பேசினார்; பின்பு, அவன் பாளையத்துக்குத் திரும்பினான்; நூனின் குமாரனாகிய யோசுவா என்னும் அவனுடைய பணிவிடைக்காரனாகிய வாலிபன் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தை விட்டுப் பிரியாதிருந்தான்.

11. And the Lord spake vnto Moses, face to face, as a man speaketh vnto his friende. After he turned againe into the hoste, but his seruant Ioshua the sonne of Nun a yong man, departed not out of the Tabernacle.

12. மோசே கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: தேவரீர் இந்த ஜனங்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோ என்று சொன்னீர்; ஆகிலும், என்னோடேகூட இன்னாரை அனுப்புவேன் என்பதை எனக்கு நீர் அறிவிக்கவில்லை; என்றாலும், உன்னைப் பேர்சொல்லி அழைத்து அறிந்திருக்கிறேன் என்றும், என் கண்களில் உனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைத்தது என்றும், தேவரீர் சொன்னதுண்டே;

12. Then Moses sayde vnto the Lord, See, thou sayest vnto me, Leade this people forth, and thou hast not shewed me whom thou wilt sende with mee: thou hast sayde moreouer, I knowe thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.

13. உம்முடைய கண்களில் இப்பொழுது எனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைத்ததானால் நான் உம்மை அறிவதற்கும், உம்முடைய கண்களில் எனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைப்பதற்கும், உம்முடைய வழியை எனக்கு அறிவியும்; இந்த ஜாதி உம்முடைய ஜனமென்று நினைத்தருளும் என்றான்.

13. Nowe therefore, I pray thee, if I haue founde fauour in thy sight, shewe mee nowe thy way, that I may knowe thee, and that I may finde grace in thy sight: consider also that this nation is thy people.

14. அதற்கு அவர்: என் சமுகம் உனக்கு முன்பாகச் செல்லும், நான் உனக்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் தருவேன் என்றார்.

14. And he answered, My presence shall go with thee, and I will giue thee rest.

15. அப்பொழுது அவன் அவரை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய சமுகம் என்னோடேகூடச் செல்லாமற்போனால், எங்களை இவ்விடத்திலிருந்து கொண்டுபோகாதிரும்.

15. Then he sayd vnto him, If thy presence go not with vs, cary vs not hence.

16. எனக்கும் உமது ஜனங்களுக்கும் உம்முடைய கண்களிலே கிருபை கிடைத்ததென்பது எதினால் அறியப்படும்; நீர் எங்களோடே வருவதினால் அல்லவா? இப்படியே பூமியின்மேலுள்ள ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரிலும், நானும் உம்முடைய ஜனங்களும் விசேஷித்தவர்கள் என்று விளங்கும் என்றான்.

16. And wherein nowe shall it be knowen, that I and thy people haue found fauour in thy sight? shall it not be when thou goest with vs? so I, and thy people shall haue preeminence before all the people that are vpon the earth.

17. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீ சொன்ன இந்த வார்த்தையின்படியே செய்வேன்; என் கண்களில் உனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைத்தது; உன்னைப்பேர்சொல்லி அழைத்து அறிந்திருக்கிறேன் என்றார்.

17. And the Lord sayde vnto Moses, I will doe this also that thou hast saide: for thou hast founde grace in my sight, and I knowe thee by name.

18. அப்பொழுது அவன்: உம்முடைய மகிமையை எனக்குக் காண்பித்தருளும் என்றான்.

18. Againe he sayde, I beseech thee, shewe me thy glory.

19. அதற்கு அவர்: என்னுடைய தயையை எல்லாம் நான் உனக்கு முன்பாகக் கடந்துபோகப்பண்ணி, கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தை உனக்கு முன்பாகக்கூறுவேன்; எவன்மேல் கிருபையாயிருக்கச் சித்தமாயிருப்பேனோ, அவன்மேல் கிருபையாயிருப்பேன்; எவன்மேல் இரக்கமாயிருக்கச் சித்தமாயிருப்பேனோ, அவன்மேல் இரக்கமாயிருப்பேன் என்று சொல்லி,

19. And he answered, I wil make all my good go before thee, and I wil proclaime the Name of the Lord before thee: for I will shewe mercy to whom I will shewe mercy, and will haue compassion on whom I will haue compassion.

20. நீ என் முகத்தைக் காணமாட்டாய், ஒரு மனுஷனும் என்னைக் கண்டு உயிரோடிருக்கக்கூடாது என்றார்.

20. Furthermore he sayde, Thou canst not see my face, for there shall no man see me, and liue.

21. பின்னும் கர்த்தர்: இதோ, என்னண்டையில் ஒரு இடம் உண்டு; நீ அங்கே கன்மலையில் நில்லு.

21. Also the Lord sayd, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand vpon the rocke:

22. என் மகிமை கடந்துபோகும்போது, நான் உன்னை அந்தக் கன்மலையின் வெடிப்பிலே வைத்து, நான் கடந்துபோகுமட்டும் என் கரத்தினால் உன்னை மூடுவேன்;

22. And while my glory passeth by, I will put thee in a cleft of the rocke, and will couer thee with mine hand whiles I passe by.

23. பின்பு, என் கரத்தை எடுப்பேன்; அப்பொழுது என் பின்பக்கத்தைக் காண்பாய்; என் முகமோ காணப்படாது என்றார்.

23. After I will take away mine hande, and thou shalt see my backe parts: but my face shall not be seene.
