1. ADONAI said to Moshe, 'Go to Pharaoh, for I have made him and his servants hardhearted, so that I can demonstrate these signs of mine among them,

3. Moshe and Aharon went in to Pharaoh and said to him, 'Here is what ADONAI, God of the Hebrews, says: 'How much longer will you refuse to submit to me? Let my people go, so that they can worship me.

4. நீ என் ஜனங்களைப் போகவிடமாட்டேன் என்பாயாகில், நான் நாளைக்கு உன் எல்லைகளுக்குள்ளே வெட்டுக்கிளிகளை வரப்பண்ணுவேன்.

4. Otherwise, if you refuse to let my people go, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your territory.

5. தரை காணாதபடிக்கு அவைகள் பூமியின் முகத்தை மூடி, கல்மழைக்குத் தப்பி மீதியாக வைக்கப்பட்டதைப் பட்சித்து, வெளியிலே துளிர்க்கிற செடிகளையெல்லாம் தின்றுபோடும்.

5. One won't be able to see the ground, so completely will the locusts cover it. They will eat anything you still have that escaped the hail, including every tree you have growing in the field.

6. உன் வீடுகளும் உன் ஊழியக்காரருடைய வீடுகளும் எகிப்தியரின் வீடுகளும் எல்லாம் அவைகளால் நிரம்பும்; உன் பிதாக்களும் உன் பிதாக்களின் பிதாக்களும் தாங்கள் பூமியில் தோன்றின நாள்முதல் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் அப்படிப் பட்டவைகளைக் கண்டதில்லை என்று எபிரெயரின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்று சொல்லி, திரும்பிக்கொண்டு பார்வோனை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டான்.

6. They will fill your houses and those of your servants and of all the Egyptians. It will be like nothing your fathers or their fathers have ever seen since the day they were born until today.'' Then he turned his back and left.

7. அப்பொழுது பார்வோனுடைய ஊழியக்காரர் அவனை நோக்கி: எந்தமட்டும் இந்த மனிதன் நமக்குக் கண்ணியாயிருப்பான்? தங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஆராதனைசெய்ய அந்த மனிதரைப் போகவிடும்; எகிப்து அழிந்துபோனதை நீர் இன்னும் அறியவில்லையா என்றார்கள்.

7. Pharaoh's servants said to him, 'How much longer must this fellow be a snare for us? Let the people go and worship ADONAI their God. Don't you understand yet that Egypt is being destroyed?'

8. அப்பொழுது மோசேயும் ஆரோனும் பார்வோனிடத்துக்குத் திரும்ப அழைக்கப்பட்டார்கள். அவன் அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் போய் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஆராதனை செய்யுங்கள் என்று சொல்லி, யாரார் போகிறார்கள் என்று கேட்டான்.

8. So Moshe and Aharon were brought to Pharaoh again, and he said to them, 'Go, worship ADONAI your God. But who exactly is going?'

9. அதற்கு மோசே: எங்கள் இளைஞரோடும், எங்கள் முதியோரோடும், எங்கள் குமாரரோடும், எங்கள் குமாரத்திகளோடும், எங்கள் ஆடுகளையும் எங்கள் மாடுகளையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோவோம்; நாங்கள் கர்த்தருக்குப் பண்டிகை கொண்டாடவேண்டும் என்றான்.

9. Moshe answered, 'We will go with our young and our old, our sons and our daughters; and we will go with our flocks and herds; for we must celebrate a feast to ADONAI.'

10. அப்பொழுது அவன்: நான் உங்களையும் உங்கள் குழந்தைகளையும் எப்படி விடுவேனோ, அப்படியே கர்த்தர் உங்களோடிருப்பாராக; எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள், உங்களுக்குப் பொல்லாப்பு நேரிடும்;

10. Pharaoh said to them, 'ADONAI certainly will be with you if I ever let you go with your children! It's clear that you are up to no good.

11. அப்படி வேண்டாம்; புருஷராகிய நீங்கள் போய், கர்த்தருக்கு ஆராதனை செய்யுங்கள்; இதுதானே நீங்கள் விரும்பிக் கேட்டது என்று சொன்னான். அவர்கள் பார்வோன் சமுகத்தினின்று துரத்தி விடப்பட்டார்கள்.

11. Nothing doing! Just the men among you may go and worship [ADONAI.] That's what you want, isn't it?' And they were driven out of Pharaoh's presence.

12. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: வெட்டுக்கிளிகள் எகிப்து தேசத்தின்மேல் வந்து கல்மழையினால் அழியாத பூமியின் பயிர்வகைகளையெல்லாம் பட்சிக்கும்படிக்கு, எகிப்து தேசத்தின்மேல் உன் கையை நீட்டு என்றார்.

12. ADONAI said to Moshe, 'Reach out your hand over the land of Egypt, so that locusts will invade the land and eat every plant that the hail has left.'

13. அப்படியே மோசே தன் கோலை எகிப்து தேசத்தின்மேல் நீட்டினான்; அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் அன்று பகல் முழுவதும் அன்று இராமுழுவதும் கீழ்காற்றைத் தேசத்தின்மேல் வீசப்பண்ணினார்; விடியற்காலத்திலே கீழ்காற்று வெட்டுக்கிளிகளைக் கொண்டுவந்தது.

13. Moshe reached out with his staff over the land of Egypt, and ADONAI caused an east wind to blow on the land all day and all night; and in the morning the east wind brought the locusts.

14. வெட்டுக்கிளிகள் எகிப்து தேசம் எங்கும் பரம்பி, எகிப்தின் எல்லையில் எங்கும் மிகவும் ஏராளமாய் இறங்கிற்று; அப்படிப்பட்ட வெட்டுக்கிளிகள் அதற்குமுன் இருந்ததும் இல்லை, அதற்குப்பின் இருப்பதும் இல்லை.

14. The locusts went up over all the land of Egypt and settled throughout Egypt's territory. It was an invasion more severe than there had ever been before or will ever be again.

15. அவைகள் பூமியின் முகம் முழுவதையும் மூடிற்று; தேசம் அவைகளால் அந்தகாரப்பட்டது; கல்மழைக்குத் தப்பியிருந்த நிலத்தின் பயிர்வகைகள் யாவையும் மரங்களின் கனிகள் யாவையும் அவைகள் பட்சித்துப்போட்டது; எகிப்து தேசம் எங்குமுள்ள மரங்களிலும் வயல்வெளியின் பயிர்வகைகளிலும் ஒரு பச்சிலையும் மீதியாயிருக்கவில்லை.

15. They completely covered the ground, so that the ground looked black. They ate every plant growing from the ground and all the fruit of the trees left by the hail. Not one green thing remained, not a tree and not a plant in the field, in all the land of Egypt.

16. அப்பொழுது பார்வோன் மோசேயையும் ஆரோனையும் தீவிரமாய் அழைப்பித்து: உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கும் உங்களுக்கும் விரோதமாகப் பாவம் செய்தேன்.

16. Pharaoh hurried to summon Moshe and Aharon and said, 'I have sinned against ADONAI your God and against you.

17. இந்த ஒரு முறைமாத்திரம் நீ என் பாவத்தை மன்னிக்கவேண்டும்; உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் இந்தச் சாவைமாத்திரம் என்னைவிட்டு விலக்க அவரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணுங்கள் என்றான்.

17. Now, therefore, please forgive my sin just this once; and intercede with ADONAI your God, so that he will at least take away from me this deadly plague!'

18. அவன் பார்வோனை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுப்போய், கர்த்தரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினான்.

18. He went out from Pharaoh and interceded with ADONAI.

19. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மகா பலத்த மேல்காற்றை வீசும்படி செய்தார்; அது வெட்டுக்கிளிகளை அடித்துக்கொண்டுபோய் செங்கடலிலே போட்டது; எகிப்தின் எல்லையில் எங்கும் ஒரு வெட்டுகிளியாகிலும் மீதியாயிருந்ததில்லை.

19. ADONAI reversed the wind and made it blow very strongly from the west. It took up the locusts and drove them into the Sea of Suf; not one locust remained on Egyptian soil.

20. கர்த்தரோ பார்வோனின் இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்தினார்; அவன் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரைப் போகவிடவில்லை.

20. But ADONAI made Pharaoh hardhearted, and he didn't let the people of Isra'el go.

21. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: தடவிக்கொண்டிருக்கத்தக்கதான இருள் எகிப்து தேசத்தின்மேல் உண்டாகும்படிக்கு, உன் கையை வானத்திற்கு நேராக நீட்டு என்றார்.

21. ADONAI said to Moshe, 'Reach out your hand toward the sky, and there will be darkness over the land of Egypt, darkness so thick it can be felt!'

22. மோசே தன் கையை வானத்திற்கு நேராக நீட்டினான்; அப்பொழுது எகிப்து தேசம் எங்கும் மூன்றுநாள் மட்டும் காரிருள் உண்டாயிற்று.

22. Moshe reached out his hand toward the sky, and there was a thick darkness in the entire land of Egypt for three days.

23. மூன்றுநாள் மட்டும் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் காணவும் இல்லை, ஒருவரும் தம்மிடத்தைவிட்டு எழுந்திருக்கவும் இல்லை; இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் யாவருக்குமோவெனில் அவர்கள் வாசஸ்தலங்களிலே வெளிச்சம் இருந்தது.

23. People couldn't see each other, and no one went anywhere for three days. But all the people of Isra'el had light in their homes.

24. அப்பொழுது பார்வோன் மோசேயை அழைப்பித்து; நீங்கள் போய்க் கர்த்தருக்கு ஆராதனை செய்யுங்கள்; உங்கள் ஆடுகளும் உங்கள் மாடுகளும்மாத்திரம் நிறுத்தப்படவேண்டும்; உங்கள் குழந்தைகள் உங்களுடன் போகலாம் என்றான்.

24. Pharaoh summoned Moshe and said, 'Go, worship ADONAI; only leave your flocks and herds behind- your children may go with you.'

25. அதற்கு மோசே: நாங்கள் எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் படைக்கும் பலிகளையும் சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையும் நீர் எங்கள் கையிலே கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.

25. Moshe answered, 'You must also see to it that we have sacrifices and burnt offerings, so that we can sacrifice to ADONAI our God.

26. எங்கள் மிருகஜீவன்களும் எங்களோடேகூட வரவேண்டும்; ஒரு குளம்பும் பின்வைக்கப்படுவதில்லை; எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஆராதனை செய்கிறதற்கு அவைகளிலிருந்து எடுக்கவேண்டும்; இன்னதைக்கொண்டு கர்த்தருக்கு ஆராதனை செய்வோம் என்பது நாங்கள் அங்கே போய்ச் சேருமளவும் எங்களுக்குத் தெரியாது என்றான்.

26. Our livestock will also go with us- not a hoof will be left behind- because we must choose some of them to worship ADONAI our God, and we don't know which ones we will need to worship ADONAI until we get there.'

27. கர்த்தர் பார்வோனுடைய இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்தினார்; அவன் அவர்களைப் போகவிட மனதில்லாதிருந்தான்.

27. But ADONAI made Pharaoh hardhearted, and he would not let them go.

28. பார்வோன் அவனை நோக்கி: என்னை விட்டு அப்பாலே போ; நீ இனி என் முகத்தைக் காணாதபடி எச்சரிக்கையாயிரு; நீ இனி என் முகத்தைக் காணும் நாளில் சாவாய் என்றான்.

28. Pharaoh said to them, 'Get away from me! And you had better not see my face again, because the day you see my face, you will die!'

29. அப்பொழுது மோசே: நீர் சொன்னது சரி; இனி நான் உம்முடைய முகத்தைக் காண்பதில்லை என்றான்.

29. Moshe answered, 'Well spoken! I will see your face no more.'
