1. தேவனே, எங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய நாட்களாகிய பூர்வநாட்களில் நீர் நடப்பித்த கிரியைகளை அவர்கள் எங்களுக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்; அவைகளை எங்கள் காதுகளால் கேட்டோம்.

1. For the director of music. A maskil of the Sons of Korah. God, we have heard what you did. Those who came before us have told us what you did in their days, in days long ago.

2. தேவரீர் உம்முடைய கையினாலே ஜாதிகளைத் துரத்தி, இவர்களை நாட்டி; ஜனங்களைத் துன்பப்படுத்தி, இவர்களைப் பரவப்பண்ணினீர்.

2. With your powerful hand you drove out the nations. You settled our people in the land. You crushed the people who were there. And you made our people do well.

3. அவர்கள் தங்கள் பட்டயத்தால் தேசத்தைக் கட்டிக்கொள்ளவில்லை; அவர்கள் புயமும் அவர்களை இரட்சிக்கவில்லை; நீர் அவர்கள்மேல் பிரியமாயிருந்தபடியால், உம்முடைய வலதுகரமும், உம்முடைய புயமும், உம்முடைய முகத்தின் பிரகாசமும் அவர்களை இரட்சித்தது.

3. They didn't win the land with their swords. They didn't gain success with their powerful arms. Your powerful right hand and your mighty arm gave them success. You looked on them with favor. You loved them.

4. தேவனே, நீர் என் ராஜா; யாக்கோபுக்கு இரட்சிப்பைக் கட்டளையிடும்.

4. You are my King and my God. You give success to the people of Jacob.

5. உம்மாலே எங்கள் சத்துருக்களைக் கீழே விழத்தாக்கி, எங்களுக்கு விரோதமாய் எழும்புகிறவர்களை உம்முடைய நாமத்தினால் மிதிப்போம்.

5. With your help we push our enemies back. By your power we walk all over them.

6. என் வில்லை நான் நம்பேன், என் பட்டயம் என்னை இரட்சிப்பதில்லை.

6. I don't trust in my bow. My sword doesn't bring me success.

7. நீரே எங்கள் சத்துருக்களினின்று எங்களை இரட்சித்து, எங்களைப் பகைக்கிறவர்களை வெட்கப்படுத்துகிறீர்.

7. But you give us success over our enemies. You put them to shame.

8. தேவனுக்குள் நித்தம் மேன்மைபாராட்டுவோம்; உமது நாமத்தை என்றென்றைக்கும் துதிப்போம். (சேலா)

8. All day long we talk about how great God is. We will praise your name forever. Selah

9. நீர் எங்களைத் தள்ளிவிட்டு, நாணப்பண்ணுகிறீர்; எங்கள் சேனைகளுடனே செல்லாதிருக்கிறீர்.

9. But now you have turned your back on us and made us low. You don't march out with our armies anymore.

10. சத்துருவுக்கு நாங்கள் இடைந்து பின்னிட்டுத் திரும்பிப்போகப்பண்ணுகிறீர்; எங்கள் பகைஞர் தங்களுக்கென்று எங்களைக் கொள்ளையிடுகிறார்கள்.

10. You made us turn and run from our enemies. They have taken what belongs to us.

11. நீர் எங்களை ஆடுகளைப்போல இரையாக ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து, ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே எங்களைச் சிதறடிக்கிறீர்.

11. You handed us over to be eaten up like sheep. You have scattered us among the nations.

12. நீர் உம்முடைய ஜனங்களை இலவசமாக விற்கிறீர்; அவர்கள் கிரயத்தினால் உமக்கு லாபமில்லையே.

12. You sold your people for very little. You didn't gain anything when you sold them.

13. எங்கள் அயலாருக்கு எங்களை நிந்தையாகவும், எங்கள் சுற்றுப்புறத்தாருக்குப் பரியாசமும் சக்கந்தமுமாகவும் வைக்கிறீர்.

13. You have made us something that our neighbors laugh at. Those who live around us make fun of us and tease us.

14. நாங்கள் ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே பழமொழியாயிருக்கவும், ஜனங்கள் எங்களைக்குறித்துத் தலைதூக்கவும் செய்கிறீர்.

14. The nations make jokes about us. They shake their heads at us.

15. நிந்தித்துத் தூஷிக்கிறவனுடைய சத்தத்தினிமித்தமும், சத்துருவினிமித்தமும், பழிவாங்குகிறவனிமித்தமும்,

15. All day long I am reminded of my shame. My face is covered with it

16. என் இலச்சை நித்தம் எனக்கு முன்பாக இருக்கிறது; என் முகத்தின் வெட்கம் என்னை மூடுகிறது.

16. because of those who laugh at me and attack me with their words. They want to get even with me.

17. இவையெல்லாம் எங்கள்மேல் வந்திருந்தும், உம்மை நாங்கள் மறக்கவும் இல்லை, உம்முடைய உடன்படிக்கைக்குத் துரோகம்பண்ணவும் இல்லை.

17. All of this happened to us, even though we had not forgotten you. We had been true to the covenant you made with us.

18. நீர் எங்களை வலுசர்ப்பங்களுள்ள இடத்திலே நொறுக்கி, மரண இருளினாலே எங்களை மூடியிருந்தும்,

18. Our hearts had not turned away from you. Our feet had not wandered from your path.

19. எங்கள் இருதயம் பின்வாங்கவும் இல்லை, எங்கள் காலடி உம்முடைய பாதையை விட்டு விலகவும் இல்லை.

19. But you crushed us and left us to the wild dogs. You covered us over with deep darkness.

20. நாங்கள் எங்கள் தேவனுடைய நாமத்தை மறந்து, அந்நியதேவனை நோக்கிக் கையெடுத்திருந்தோமானால்,

20. We didn't forget our God. We didn't spread out our hands in prayer to a strange god.

21. தேவன் அதை ஆராய்ந்து, விசாரியாதிருப்பாரோ? இருதயத்தின் அந்தரங்கங்களை அவர் அறிந்திருக்கிறாரே.

21. If we had, God would have discovered it. He knows the secrets of our hearts.

22. உமது நிமித்தம் எந்நேரமும் கொல்லப்படுகிறோம்; அடிக்கப்படும் ஆடுகளைப்போல எண்ணப்படுகிறோம்.

22. But because of you, we face death all day long. We are considered as sheep to be killed.

23. ஆண்டவரே, விழித்துக்கொள்ளும்; ஏன் நித்திரைபண்ணுகிறீர்? எழுந்தருளும், எங்களை என்றைக்கும் தள்ளிவிடாதிரும்.

23. Lord, wake up! Why are you sleeping? Get up! Don't say no to us forever.

24. ஏன் உம்முடைய முகத்தை மறைத்து, எங்கள் சிறுமையையும் எங்கள் நெருக்கத்தையும் மறந்துவிடுகிறீர்?

24. Why do you turn your face away from us? Why do you forget our pain and troubles?

25. எங்கள் ஆத்துமா புழுதிமட்டும் தாழ்ந்திருக்கிறது; எங்கள் வயிறு தரையோடு ஒட்டியிருக்கிறது.

25. We are brought down to the dust. Our bodies lie flat on the ground.

26. எங்களுக்கு ஒத்தாசையாக எழுந்தருளும்; உம்முடைய கிருபையினிமித்தம் எங்களை மீட்டுவிடும்.

26. Rise up and help us. Save us because of your faithful love.
