1. இஸ்ரவேல் எகிப்திலும், யாக்கோபின் குடும்பம் அந்நிய பாஷைக்காரரான ஜனத்திலுமிருந்து புறப்பட்டபோது,

1. When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of a strange language,

2. யூதா அவருக்குப் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தானமும், இஸ்ரவேல் அவருக்கு இராஜ்யமுமாயிற்று.

2. Judah was His sanctuary, and Israel His dominion.

3. கடல் கண்டு விலகி ஓடிற்று; யோர்தான் பின்னிட்டுத் திரும்பினது.

3. The sea saw it, and fled; Jordan was driven back.

4. மலைகள் ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களைப்போலவும், குன்றுகள் ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளைப்போலவும் துள்ளினது.

4. The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.

5. கடலே, நீ விலகியோடுகிறதற்கும்; யோர்தானே, நீ பின்னிட்டுத் திரும்புகிறதற்கும்;

5. What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? Thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?

6. மலைகளே, நீங்கள் ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களைப்போலவும்; குன்றுகளே, நீங்கள் ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளைப்போலவும் துள்ளுகிறதற்கும், உங்களுக்கு என்ன வந்தது?

6. Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams, and ye little hills, like lambs?

7. பூமியே, நீ ஆண்டவருக்கு முன்பாகவும், யாக்கோபுடைய தேவனுக்கு முன்பாகவும் அதிரு.

7. Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the God of Jacob,

8. who turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
