1. இப்போது கூப்பிடும், உமக்கு உத்தரவு கொடுப்பார் உண்டோ பார்ப்போம்? பரிசுத்தவான்களில் யாரை நோக்கிப் பார்ப்பீர்?

1. But call, if anyone will listen to you, or if you shall see any of the holy angels.

2. கோபம் நிர்மூடனைக் கொல்லும்; பொறாமை புத்தியில்லாதவனை அதம்பண்ணும்.

2. For wrath destroys the foolish one, and envy slays him that has gone astray.

3. நிர்மூடன் ஒருவன் வேரூன்றுகிறதை நான் கண்டு உடனே அவன் வாசஸ்தலத்தைச் சபித்தேன்.

3. And I have seen foolish ones taking root, but suddenly their habitation was devoured.

4. அவன் பிள்ளைகள் இரட்சிப்புக்குத் தூரமாகி, தப்புவிப்பாரில்லாமல், வாசலிலே நொறுக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.

4. Let their children be far from safety, and let them be crushed at the doors of vile men, and let there be no deliverer.

5. பசித்தவன் அவன் விளைச்சலை முட்செடிகளுக்குள்ளுமிருந்து பறித்துத் தின்றான்; பறிகாரன் அவன் ஆஸ்தியை விழுங்கினான்.

5. For what they have collected, the just shall eat; but they shall not be delivered out of calamities- let their strength be utterly exhausted.

6. தீங்கு புழுதியிலிருந்து உண்டாகிறதுமில்லை; வருத்தம் மண்ணிலிருந்து முளைக்கிறதுமில்லை.

6. For labor cannot by any means come out of the earth, nor shall trouble spring out of the mountains;

7. அக்கினிப்பொறிகள் மேலே பறக்கிறதுபோல, மனுஷன் வருத்தம் அநுபவிக்கப் பிறந்திருக்கிறான்.

7. yet man is born to labor, and even so the vulture's young seek the high places.

8. ஆனாலும் நான் தேவனை நாடி, என் நியாயத்தை தேவனிடத்தில் ஒப்புவிப்பேன்.

8. Nevertheless I will beseech the Lord, and will call upon the Lord, the Sovereign of all;

9. ஆராய்ந்து முடியாத பெரிய காரியங்களையும், எண்ணிமுடியாத அதிசயங்களையும் அவர் செய்கிறார்.

9. who does great and untraceable things, glorious things also, and marvelous, of which there is no number:

10. தாழ்ந்தவர்களை உயரத்தில் வைத்து, துக்கிக்கிறவர்களை இரட்சித்து உயர்த்துகிறார்.

10. who gives rain upon the earth, sending water on the earth:

11. அவர் பூமியின்மேல் மழையை வருஷிக்கப்பண்ணி, வெளிநிலங்களின்மேல் தண்ணீர்களை வருவிக்கிறார்.

11. who exalts the lowly, and raises up them that are lost:

12. தந்திரக்காரரின் கைகள் காரியத்தை முடிய நடத்தக்கூடாதபடிக்கு, அவர்களுடைய உபாயங்களை அவர் அபத்தமாக்குகிறார்.

12. frustrating the counsels of the crafty, and their hands shall not perform the truth:

13. அவர் ஞானிகளை அவர்களுடைய தந்திரத்திலே பிடிக்கிறார்; திரியாவரக்காரரின் ஆலோசனை கவிழ்க்கப்படும்.

13. who takes the wise in their wisdom, and subverts the counsel of the crafty.

14. அவர்கள் பகற்காலத்திலே அந்தகாரத்துக்குள்ளாகி, மத்தியான வேளையிலே இரவில் தடவுகிறதுபோல தடவித் திரிகிறார்கள்.

14. In the day darkness shall come upon them, and let them grope in the noonday even as in the night.

15. ஆனாலும் எளியவனை அவர்கள் வாயிலிருக்கிற பட்டயத்துக்கும், பெலவானின் கைக்கும் விலக்கி இரட்சிக்கிறார்.

15. And let them perish in war, and let the weak escape from the hand of the mighty.

16. அதினால் தரித்திரனுக்கு நம்பிக்கை உண்டு; தீமையானது தன் வாயை மூடும்.

16. And let the weak have hope, but the mouth of the unjust be stopped.

17. இதோ, தேவன் தண்டிக்கிற மனுஷன் பாக்கியவான்; ஆகையால் சர்வவல்லவருடைய சிட்சையை அற்பமாக எண்ணாதிரும்.

17. But blessed is the man whom the Lord has reproved; and reject not the chastening of the Almighty.

18. அவர் காயப்படுத்திக் காயங்கட்டுகிறார்; அவர் அடிக்கிறார், அவருடைய கை ஆற்றுகிறது.

18. for He causes a man to be in pain, and restores him again: He smites, and His hands heal.

19. ஆறு இக்கட்டுகளுக்கு உம்மை நீங்கலாக்குவார்; ஏழாவதிலும் பொல்லாப்பு உம்மைத் தொடாது.

19. Six times He shall deliver you out of distresses, and in the seventh, harm shall not touch you.

20. பஞ்சகாலத்திலே அவர் உம்மை மரணத்துக்கும், யுத்தத்திலே பட்டயத்தின் வெட்டுக்கும் விலக்கி மீட்பார்.

20. In famine He shall deliver you from death, and in war He shall free you from the power of the sword.

21. நாவின் சவுக்குக்கும் மறைக்கப்படுவீர்; பாழாக்குதல் வரும்போதும் பயப்படாமலிருப்பீர்.

21. He shall hide you from the scourge of the tongue, and you shall not be afraid of coming evils.

22. பாழாக்குதலையும் பஞ்சத்தையும் பார்த்து நகைப்பீர்; காட்டுமிருகங்களுக்கும் பயப்படாமலிருப்பீர்.

22. You shall laugh at the unrighteous and the lawless, and you shall not be afraid of wild beasts.

23. வெளியின் கல்லுகளோடும் உமக்கு உடன்படிக்கையிருக்கும்; வெளியின் மிருகங்களும் உம்மோடே சமாதானமாயிருக்கும்.

23. For the wild beasts of the field shall be at peace with you.

24. உம்முடைய கூடாரம் சமாதானத்தோடிருக்கக் காண்பீர்; உம்முடைய வாசஸ்தலத்தை விசாரிக்கும்போது குறைவைக் காணமாட்டீர்.

24. Then shall you know that your house shall be at peace, and the provision for your tabernacle shall not fail.

25. உம்முடைய சந்தானம் பெருகி, உம்முடைய சந்ததியார் பூமியின் பூண்டுகளைப்போல இருப்பார்கள் என்பதை அறிந்துகொள்வீர்.

25. And you shall know that your seed [shall be] abundant, and your children shall be like the herbs of the field.

26. தானியம் ஏற்றகாலத்திலே அம்பாரத்தில் சேருகிறதுபோல, முதிர்வயதிலே கல்லறையில் சேருவீர்.

26. And you shall come to the grave like ripe grain reaped in its season, or as a sheaf of grain collected in its season.

27. இதோ, நாங்கள் ஆராய்ந்து அறிந்தது இதுதான்; காரியம் இப்படியிருக்கிறது; இதை நீர் கேட்டு உமக்கு நன்மையுண்டாக அறிந்துகொள்ளும் என்றான்.

27. Behold, we have thus sought out these matters; these are what we have heard- but reflect within yourself, if you have done anything [wrong].
