1. Then responded Job, and said:

2. நீங்கள் எந்தமட்டும் என் ஆத்துமாவை வருத்தப்படுத்தி, வார்த்தைகளினால் என்னை நொறுக்குவீர்கள்?

2. How long will ye grieve my soul? or crush me with words?

3. இப்போது பத்துதரம் என்னை நிந்தித்தீர்கள்; நீங்கள் எனக்குக் கடினமுகம் காண்பிக்கிறதினால் உங்களுக்கு வெட்கமில்லை.

3. These ten times, have ye reviled me, Shameless ye wrong me.

4. நான் தப்பிநடந்தது மெய்யானாலும், என் தப்பிதம் என்னோடேதான் இருக்கிறது.

4. And even if indeed I have erred, with myself lodgeth mine error.

5. நீங்கள் எனக்கு விரோதமாகப் பெருமைபாராட்டி, எனக்கு நிந்தையாக என்னைக் கடிந்துகொள்ளவேண்டும் என்றிருப்பீர்களாகில்,

5. If indeed, against me, ye must needs magnify yourselves, and plead, against me, my reproach.

6. தேவன் என்னைக் கவிழ்த்து, தம்முடைய வலையை என்மேல் வீசினார் என்று அறியுங்கள்.

6. Know, then, that, God, hath overthrown me, and, within his net, enclosed me.

7. இதோ, கொடுமை என்று கூப்பிடுகிறேன், கேட்பார் ஒருவரும் இல்லை; கூக்குரலிடுகிறேன், நியாயவிசாரணை இல்லை.

7. Lo! I cry out: Violence! but receive no answer, I cry aloud, but there is no vindication;

8. நான் கடந்துபோகக்கூடாதபடிக்கு அவர் என் பாதையை வேலியடைத்து, என் வழிகளை இருளாக்கிவிட்டார்.

8. My way, hath he walled up, that I cannot pass, and, upon my paths, hath he made darkness rest;

9. என்னிலிருந்த என் மகிமையை அவர் உரிந்துகொண்டு, என் சிரசின் கிரீடத்தை எடுத்துப்போட்டார்.

9. My glory from off me, hath he stripped, and hath removed the crown of my head;

10. அவர் என்னை நான்கு புறத்திலும் நாசமாக்கினார், நான் அற்றுப்போகிறேன்; என் நம்பிக்கையை ஒரு செடியைப்போலப் பிடுங்கிப்போட்டார்.

10. He hath ruined me on every side, and I am gone, and he hath taken away like a tree my hope;

11. அவர் தமது கோபத்தை என்மேல் எரியப்பண்ணினார்; என்னைத் தம்முடைய சத்துருக்களில் ஒருவனாக எண்ணிக்கொள்ளுகிறார்.

11. Yea he hath kindled against me his anger, and accounted me towards him like unto his adversaries;

12. அவருடைய தண்டுப்படைகள் ஏகமாய் வந்து, எனக்கு விரோதமாய்த் தங்கள் வழியை உயர்த்தி, என் கூடாரத்தைச் சுற்றிப் பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

12. Together, enter his troops and have cast up, against me, their mound, and have encamped all around my tent;

13. என் சகோதரரை என்னைவிட்டுத் தூரப்படுத்தினார்; எனக்கு அறிமுகமானவர்கள் எனக்கு அந்நியராய்ப் போனார்கள்.

13. My Brethren from beside me, hath he moved far away, and, mine acquaintance, are wholly estranged from me;

14. என் பந்துஜனங்கள் விலகிப்போனார்கள். என் சிநேகிதர் என்னை மறந்துவிட்டார்கள்.

14. Failed me, have my near of kin, and, mine intimate acquaintances, have forgotten me;

15. என் வீட்டு ஜனங்களும், என் வேலைக்காரிகளும், என்னை அந்நியனாக எண்ணுகிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் பார்வைக்கு நான் பரதேசியானேன்.

15. Ye guests of my house and my maidens, A stranger, have ye accounted me, An alien, have I become in their eyes;

16. நான் என் வேலைக்காரனைக் கூப்பிடுகிறபோது அவன் எனக்கு உத்தரவு கொடான்; என் வாயினால் நான் அவனைக் கெஞ்சவேண்டியதாயிற்று.

16. To mine own servant, I called, and he would not answer, With mine own mouth, I kept entreating him;

17. என் சுவாசம் என் மனைவிக்கு வேறுபட்டிருக்கிறது; என் கர்ப்பத்தின் பிள்ளைகளுக்காகப் பரிதபிக்கிறேன்.

17. My breath, is strange to my wife, and I am loathsome to the sons of my own mother;

18. சிறுபிள்ளைகளும் என்னை அசட்டைபண்ணுகிறார்கள்; நான் எழுந்தால், அவர்கள் எனக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பேசுகிறார்கள்.

18. Even young children, despise me, I rise up, and they speak against me;

19. என் பிராணசிநேகிதர் எல்லாரும் என்னை வெறுக்கிறார்கள்; நான் சிநேகித்தவர்கள் எனக்கு விரோதிகளானார்கள்.

19. All the men of mine intimate circle abhor me, and, these whom I loved, have turned against me;

20. என் எலும்புகள் என் தோலோடும் என் மாம்சத்தோடும் ஒட்டிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது என் பற்களை மூடக் கொஞ்சம் தோல்மாத்திரம் தப்பினது.

20. Unto my skin and unto my flesh, have my bones cleaved, and I have escaped with the akin of my teeth.

21. என் சிநேகிதரே, எனக்கு இரங்குங்கள், எனக்கு இரங்குங்கள்; தேவனுடைய கை என்னைத் தொட்டது.

21. Pity me! pity me! ye, my friends, for, the hand of GOD, hath stricken me!

22. தேவனைப்போல நீங்களும் என்னைத் துன்பப்படுத்துவானேன்? என் மாம்சம் பட்சிக்கப்பட்டாலும் நீங்கள் திருப்தியற்றிருக்கிறதென்ன?

22. Wherefore should ye persecute me as GOD? and, with my flesh, should not he satisfied?

23. ஆ, நான் இப்பொழுது சொல்லும் வார்த்தைகள் எழுதப்பட்டால் நலமாயிருக்கும்; அவைகள் ஒரு புஸ்தகத்தில் வரையப்பட்டு,

23. Oh, then, that my words, could be written, Oh that, in a record, they could be inscribed:

24. அல்லது என்றைக்கும் நிலைக்க அவைகள் கருங்கல்லிலே உளிவெட்டாகவும் ஈய எழுத்தாகவும் பதிந்தால் நலமாயிருக்கும்.

24. That, with a stylus of iron and with lead, for all time in the rock, they could be graven!

25. என் மீட்பர் உயிரோடிருக்கிறார் என்றும், அவர் கடைசி நாளில் பூமியின்மேல் நிற்பார் என்றும் நான் அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்.

25. But, I, know that, my redeemer, liveth, and, as the Last over my dust, will he arise;

26. இந்த என் தோல்முதலானவை அழுகிப்போனபின்பு, நான் என் மாம்சத்தில் இருந்து தேவனைப் பார்ப்பேன்.

26. And, though, after my skin is struck off, this followeth , yet, apart from my flesh, shall I see GOD:

27. அவரை நானே பார்ப்பேன்; அந்நிய கண்கள் அல்ல, என் கண்களே அவரைக் காணும்; இந்த வாஞ்சையால் என் உள்ளிந்திரியங்கள் எனக்குள் சோர்ந்துபோகிறது.

27. Whom, I myself, shall see, on my side, and, mine own eyes, shall have looked upon, and not those of a stranger. Exhausted are my deepest desires in my bosom!

28. காரியத்தின் மூலம் எனக்குள் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்படுகையில், நாம் ஏன் அவனைத் துன்பப்படுத்துகிறோம் என்று நீங்கள் சொல்லவேண்டியதாமே.

28. Surely ye should say Why should we persecute him? seeing, the root of the matter, is found in me.

29. பட்டயத்துக்குப் பயப்படுங்கள்; நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு உண்டென்கிறதை நீங்கள் அறியும்பொருட்டு, மூர்க்கமானது பட்டயத்தினால் உண்டாகும் ஆக்கினையை வரப்பண்ணும் என்றான்.

29. Be ye afraid on your part of the face of the sword, because, wrath, bringeth the punishments of the sword, to the end ye may know the Almighty.
