1. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தருடைய உடன்படிக்கைப் பெட்டியைச் சீயோன் என்னும் தாவீதின் நகரத்திலிருந்து கொண்டுவரும்படி சாலொமோன் இஸ்ரவேலின் மூப்பரையும், கோத்திரப் பிரபுக்களாகிய இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரிலுள்ள பிதாக்களின் தலைவர் அனைவரையும், எருசலேமில் ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் தன்னிடத்திலே கூடிவரச்செய்தான்.

1. Then King Solomon sent for the elders of Israel. He told them to come to him in Jerusalem. They included all of the leaders of the tribes. They also included the chiefs of the families of Israel. Solomon wanted them to bring up the ark of the Lord's covenant from Zion. Zion was the City of David.

2. இஸ்ரவேல் மனுஷரெல்லாரும் ஏழாம் மாதமாகிய ஏத்தானீம் மாதத்துப் பண்டிகையிலே, ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோனிடத்தில் கூடிவந்தார்கள்.

2. All of the men of Israel came together to where King Solomon was. It was at the time of the Feast of Booths. The feast was held in the month of Ethanim. That's the seventh month.

3. இஸ்ரவேலின் மூப்பர் அனைவரும் வந்திருக்கையில், ஆசாரியர் கர்த்தருடைய பெட்டியை எடுத்து,

3. All of the elders of Israel arrived. Then the priests picked up the ark and carried it.

4. பெட்டியையும், ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தையும், கூடாரத்திலிருந்த பரிசுத்த பணிமுட்டுகள் அனைத்தையும் சுமந்து கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; ஆசாரியரும், லேவியரும், அவைகளைச் சுமந்தார்கள்.

4. They brought up the ark of the Lord. They also brought up the Tent of Meeting and all of the sacred articles that were in the tent. The priests and Levites carried everything up.

5. ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோனும் அவனோடேகூடின இஸ்ரவேல் சபையனைத்தும் பெட்டிக்கு முன்பாக நடந்து, எண்ணிக்கையும் கணக்குமில்லாத திரளான ஆடுகளையும், மாடுகளையும் பலியிட்டார்கள்.

5. The entire community of Israel had gathered around King Solomon. All of them were in front of the ark. They sacrificed huge numbers of sheep and cattle. There were so many that they couldn't be recorded. In fact, they couldn't even be counted.

6. அப்படியே ஆசாரியர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய உடன்படிக்கைப் பெட்டியை ஆலயத்தின் சந்நிதிஸ்தானமாகிய மகாபரிசுத்தஸ்தானத்திலே கேருபீன்களுடைய செட்டைகளின்கீழே கொண்டுவந்துவைத்தார்கள்.

6. The priests brought the ark of the Lord's covenant to its place in the Most Holy Room of the temple. They put it under the wings of the cherubim.

7. கேருபீன்கள் பெட்டியிருக்கும் ஸ்தானத்திலே தங்கள் இரண்டு செட்டைகளையும் விரித்து, உயர இருந்து பெட்டியையும் அதின் தண்டுகளையும் மூடிக்கொண்டிருந்தது.

7. The cherubim's wings were spread out over the place where the ark was. They covered the ark. They also covered the poles that were used to carry it.

8. தண்டுகளின் முனைகள் சந்நிதிஸ்தானத்திற்கு முன்னான பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்திலே காணப்படத்தக்கதாய் அந்தத் தண்டுகளை முன்னுக்கு இழுத்தார்கள்; ஆகிலும் வெளியே அவைகள் காணப்படவில்லை; அவைகள் இந்நாள் வரைக்கும் அங்கேதான் இருக்கிறது.

8. The poles were so long that their ends could be seen from the Holy Room in front of the Most Holy Room. But they couldn't be seen from outside the Holy Room. They are still there to this very day.

9. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டபின் கர்த்தர் அவர்களோடே உடன்படிக்கை பண்ணுகிறபோது, மோசே ஓரேபிலே அந்தப் பெட்டியில் வைத்த இரண்டு கற்பலகைகளே அல்லாமல் அதிலே வேறொன்றும் இருந்ததில்லை.

9. There wasn't anything in the ark except the two stone tablets. Moses had placed them in it at Mount Horeb. That's where the Lord had made a covenant with the Israelites. He made it after they came out of Egypt.

10. The priests left the Holy Room. Then the cloud filled the temple of the Lord.

11. The priests couldn't do their work because of it. That's because the glory of the Lord filled his temple.

12. Then Solomon said, 'Lord, you have said you would live in a dark cloud.

13. தேவரீர் வாசம்பண்ணத்தக்க வீடும், நீர் என்றைக்கும் தங்கத்தக்க நிலையான ஸ்தானமுமாகிய ஆலயத்தை உமக்குக் கட்டினேன் என்றும் சொல்லி,

13. As you can see, I've built a beautiful temple for you. You can live in it forever.'

14. ராஜா முகம் திரும்பி, இஸ்ரவேல் சபையையெல்லாம் ஆசீர்வதித்தான்; இஸ்ரவேல் சபையாரெல்லாரும் நின்றார்கள்.

14. The whole community of Israel was standing there. The king turned around and gave them his blessing.

15. அவன் சொன்னது: இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம்; அவர் என் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதுக்குத் தம்முடைய வாக்கினால் சொன்னதைத் தம்முடைய கரத்தினால் நிறைவேற்றினார்.

15. Then he said, 'I praise the Lord. He is the God of Israel. With his own mouth he made a promise to my father David. With his own powerful hand he made it come true. He said,

16. அவர் நான் என் ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணின நாள்முதற்கொண்டு, என் நாமம் விளங்கும்படி, ஒரு ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டவேண்டும் என்று நான் இஸ்ரவேலுடைய எல்லாக் கோத்திரங்களிலுமுள்ள ஒரு பட்டணத்தையும் தெரிந்துகொள்ளாமல் என் ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் அதிகாரியாயிருக்கும்படி தாவீதையே தெரிந்துகொண்டேன் என்றார்.

16. 'I brought my people Israel out of Egypt. Ever since I did that, I have not chosen a city in any tribe of Israel where a temple could be built for my Name. But I have chosen David to rule over my people Israel.'

17. இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் நாமத்திற்கு ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டவேண்டும் என்கிற விருப்பம் என் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதின் இருதயத்தில் இருந்தது.

17. 'With all his heart my father David wanted to build a temple. He wanted to do it so the Lord could put his Name there. The Lord is the God of Israel.

18. 'But the Lord spoke to my father David. He said, 'With all your heart you wanted to build a temple for my Name. It is good that you wanted to do that.

19. But you will not build the temple. Instead, your son will build the temple for my Name. He is your own flesh and blood.'

20. 'The Lord has kept the promise he made. I've become the next king after my father David. Now I'm sitting on the throne of Israel. That's exactly what the Lord promised would happen. I've built the temple where the Lord will put his Name. He is the God of Israel.

21. கர்த்தர் நம்முடைய பிதாக்களை எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினபோது, அவர்களோடே பண்ணின உடன்படிக்கை இருக்கிற பெட்டிக்காக அதிலே ஒரு ஸ்தானத்தை உண்டாக்கினேன் என்றான்.

21. I've provided a place for the ark there. The tablets of the Lord's covenant are inside it. He made that covenant with our people of long ago. He made it when he brought them out of Egypt.'

22. பின்பு சாலொமோன்: கர்த்தருடைய பலிபீடத்திற்குமுன்னே இஸ்ரவேல் சபையாரெல்லாருக்கும் எதிராக நின்று, வானத்திற்கு நேராய்த் தன் கைகளை விரித்து:

22. Then Solomon stood in front of the Lord's altar. He stood in front of the whole community of Israel. He spread out his hands toward heaven.

23. இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, மேலே வானத்திலும் கீழே பூமியிலும் உமக்கு ஒப்பான தேவன் இல்லை; தங்கள் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் உமக்கு முன்பாக நடக்கிற உமது அடியாருக்கு உடன்படிக்கையையும் கிருபையையும் காத்து வருகிறீர்.

23. He said, 'Lord, you are the God of Israel. There is no God like you in heaven above or on earth below. You keep the covenant you made with us. You show us your love. You do that when we follow you with all our hearts.

24. தேவரீர் என் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீது என்னும் உம்முடைய தாசனுக்குச் செய்த வாக்குத்தத்தத்தைக் காத்தருளினீர்; அதை உம்முடைய வாக்கினால் சொன்னீர்; இந்நாளில் இருக்கிறபடி, உம்முடைய கரத்தினால் அதை நிறைவேற்றினீர்.

24. You have kept your promise to my father David. He was your servant. With your mouth you made a promise. With your powerful hand you have made it come true. And today we can see it.

25. இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, தேவரீர் என் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீது என்னும் உம்முடைய தாசனை நோக்கி: நீ எனக்கு முன்பாக நடந்ததுபோல, உன் குமாரரும் எனக்கு முன்பாக நடக்கும்படி தங்கள் வழியைக் காப்பார்களேயானால், இஸ்ரவேலின் சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் வீற்றிருக்கும் புருஷன் எனக்கு முன்பாக உனக்கு இல்லாமற்போவதில்லை என்று சொன்னதை இப்பொழுது அவனுக்கு நிறைவேற்றும்.

25. 'Lord, you are the God of Israel. Keep the promises you made to my father David. Do it for him. He was your servant. You said to him, 'You will always have a man to sit on the throne of Israel in my sight. That will be true only if your sons are careful in everything they do. They must live in my sight the way you have lived.'

26. இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனே, என் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீது என்னும் உம்முடைய தாசனுக்குச் சொன்ன உம்முடைய வார்த்தை மெய்யென்று விளங்குவதாக.

26. God of Israel, let your promise to my father David come true.

27. தேவன் மெய்யாக பூமியிலே வாசம்பண்ணுவாரோ? இதோ, வானங்களும் வானாதி வானங்களும் உம்மைக் கொள்ளாதே; நான் கட்டின இந்த ஆலயம் எம்மாத்திரம்?

27. 'But will you really live on earth? After all, the heavens can't hold you. In fact, even the highest heavens can't hold you. So this temple I've built certainly can't hold you!

28. என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, உமது அடியேன் இன்று உமது சந்நிதியில் செய்கிற விண்ணப்பத்தையும் மன்றாட்டையும் கேட்டு, உமது அடியேனுடைய விண்ணப்பத்தையும் வேண்டுதலையும் திருவுளத்தில் கொண்டருளும்.

28. 'But please pay attention to my prayer. Lord my God, show me your favor as I make my appeal to you. Listen to my cry for help. Hear the prayer I'm praying to you today.

29. உமது அடியேன் இவ்விடத்திலே செய்யும் விண்ணப்பத்தைக் கேட்கும்படி என்னுடைய நாமம் விளங்குமென்று நீர் சொன்ன ஸ்தலமாகிய இந்த ஆலயத்தின் மேல் உம்முடைய கண்கள் இரவும் பகலும் திறந்திருப்பதாக.

29. Let your eyes look toward this temple night and day. You said, 'I will put my Name there.' So please listen to the prayer I'm praying toward this place.

30. உமது அடியானும், இந்த ஸ்தலத்திலே விண்ணபஞ்செய்யப்போகிற உமது ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலும் பண்ணும் ஜெபத்தைக் கேட்டருளும்; பரலோகமாகிய உம்முடைய வாசஸ்தலத்திலே அதை நீர் கேட்பீராக, கேட்டு மன்னிப்பீராக.

30. 'Hear me when I ask you to show us your favor. Listen to your people Israel when they pray toward this place. Listen to us from heaven. It's the place where you live. When you hear us, forgive us.

31. ஒருவன் தன் அயலானுக்குக் குற்றஞ்செய்திருக்கையில், இவன் அவனை ஆணையிடச்சொல்லும்போது, அந்த ஆணை இந்த ஆலயத்திலே உம்முடைய பலிபீடத்திற்கு முன் வந்தால்,

31. 'Suppose a man does something wrong to his neighbor. And he is required to take an oath and make a promise. He must come and do it in front of your altar in this temple.

32. அப்பொழுது பரலோகத்தில் இருக்கிற தேவரீர் கேட்டு, துன்மார்க்கனுடைய நடக்கையை அவன் தலையின்மேல் சுமரப்பண்ணி, அவனைக் குற்றவாளியாகத் தீர்க்கவும், நீதிமானுக்கு அவனுடைய நீதிக்குத்தக்கதாய்ச் செய்து அவனை நீதிமானாக்கவும் தக்கதாய் உமது அடியாரை நியாயந்தீர்ப்பீராக.

32. When he does, listen to him from heaven. Take action. Judge between those people. Punish the one who is guilty. Do to him what he has done to his neighbor. Tell everyone that the one who hasn't done anything wrong is free from blame. That will prove he isn't guilty.

33. உம்முடைய ஜனங்களாகிய இஸ்ரவேலர் உமக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்ததினிமித்தம் சத்துருவுக்கு முன்பாக முறிந்துபோய், உம்மிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பி, உம்முடைய நாமத்தை அறிக்கைபண்ணி, இந்த ஆலயத்துக்கு நேராக உம்மை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பத்தையும் வேண்டுதலையும் செய்தால்,

33. 'Suppose your people Israel have lost the battle against their enemies. And suppose they've sinned against you. But they turn back to you and praise your name. They pray to you in this temple. And they ask you to show them your favor.

34. பரலோகத்தில் இருக்கிற தேவரீர் கேட்டு, உம்முடைய ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலின் பாவத்தை மன்னித்து, அவர்கள் பிதாக்களுக்கு நீர் கொடுத்த தேசத்துக்கு அவர்களைத் திரும்பி வரப்பண்ணுவீராக.

34. Then listen to them from heaven. Forgive the sin of your people Israel. Bring them back to the land you gave to their people who lived long ago.

35. 'Suppose your people have sinned against you. And because of that, the sky is closed up and there isn't any rain. But your people pray toward this place. They praise you by admitting they've sinned. And they turn away from their sin because you have made them suffer.

36. பரலோகத்தில் இருக்கிற தேவரீர் கேட்டு, உமது அடியாரும் உமது ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலும் செய்த பாவத்தை மன்னித்து, அவர்கள் நடக்கவேண்டிய நல்வழியை அவர்களுக்குப் போதித்து, தேவரீர் உமது ஜனத்திற்குச் சுதந்தரமாகக் கொடுத்த உமது தேசத்தில் மழை பெய்யக் கட்டளையிடுவீராக.

36. Then listen to them from heaven. Forgive the sin of your people Israel. Teach them the right way to live. Send rain on the land you gave them as their share.

37. தேசத்திலே பஞ்சம் உண்டாகிறபோதும், கொள்ளைநோய் உண்டாகிறபோதும், வறட்சி, சாவி, வெட்டுக்கிளி, பச்சைக்கிளி உண்டாகிறபோதும், அவர்கள் சத்துருக்கள் தேசத்திலுள்ள பட்டணங்களை முற்றிக்கை போடுகிறபோதும், யாதொரு வாதையாகிலும் யாதொரு வியாதியாகிலும் வருகிறபோதும்,

37. 'Suppose there isn't enough food in the land. And a plague strikes the land. The hot winds completely dry up our crops. Or locusts or grasshoppers come and eat them up. Or an enemy surrounds one of our cities and gets ready to attack it. Or trouble or sickness comes.

38. உம்முடைய ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேல் அனைவரிலும் எந்த மனுஷனானாலும் தன் இருதயத்தின் வாதையை உணர்ந்து, இந்த ஆலயத்துக்கு நேராகத் தன் கைகளை விரித்துச் செய்யும் சகல விண்ணப்பத்தையும், சகல வேண்டுதலையும்,

38. But suppose one of your people prays to you. He asks you to show him your favor. He is aware of how much his own heart is suffering. And he spreads out his hands toward this temple to pray.

39. உம்முடைய வாசஸ்தலமாகிய பரலோகத்தில் இருக்கிற தேவரீர் கேட்டு மன்னித்து,

39. Then listen to him from heaven. It's the place where you live. Forgive him. Take action. Deal with him in keeping with everything he does. You know his heart. In fact, you are the only one who knows every human heart.

40. தேவரீர் எங்கள் பிதாக்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த தேசத்தில் அவர்கள் உயிரோடிருக்கும் நாளெல்லாம் உமக்குப் பயப்படும்படிக்கு தேவரீர் ஒருவரே எல்லா மனுப்புத்திரரின் இருதயத்தையும் அறிந்தவராதலால், நீர் அவனவன் இருதயத்தை அறிந்திருக்கிறபடியே, அவனவனுடைய வழிகளுக்குத்தக்கதாகச் செய்து, அவனவனுக்குப் பலன் அளிப்பீராக.

40. Your people will have respect for you. They will respect you as long as they are in the land you gave our people long ago.

41. உம்முடைய ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேல் ஜாதியல்லாத அந்நிய ஜாதியார் உமது மகத்துவமான நாமத்தையும், உமது பலத்த கரத்தையும், உமது ஓங்கிய புயத்தையும் கேள்விப்படுவார்களே.

41. 'Suppose there are strangers who don't belong to your people Israel. And they have come from a land far away. They've come because they've heard about your name.

42. அப்படிக்கொத்த அந்நிய ஜாதியானும், உமது நாமத்தினிமித்தம் தூர தேசத்திலிருந்து வந்து, இந்த ஆலயத்துக்கு நேராக விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினால்,

42. When they get here, they will find out even more about your great name. They'll hear about how you reached out your mighty hand and powerful arm. So they'll come and pray toward this temple.

43. உமது வாசஸ்தலமாகிய பரலோகத்தில் இருக்கிற தேவரீர் அதைக் கேட்டு, பூமியின் ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் உம்முடைய ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலைப்போல உமக்குப் பயப்படும்படிக்கும், நான் கட்டின இந்த ஆலயத்துக்கு உம்முடைய நாமம் தரிக்கப்பட்டதென்று அறியும்படிக்கும், உம்முடைய நாமத்தை அறியத்தக்கதாக, அந்த அந்நிய ஜாதியான் உம்மை நோக்கி வேண்டிக்கொள்வதின்படியெல்லாம் தேவரீர் செய்வீராக.

43. Then listen to them from heaven. It's the place where you live. Do what those strangers ask you to do. Then all of the nations on earth will know you. They will have respect for you. They'll respect you just as your own people Israel do. They'll know that your Name is in this house I've built.

44. நீர் உம்முடைய ஜனங்களை அனுப்பும் வழியிலே அவர்கள் தங்கள் சத்துருக்களோடு யுத்தம் பண்ணப் புறப்படும்போது, நீர் தெரிந்துகொண்ட இந்த நகரத்துக்கும், உம்முடைய நாமத்துக்கு நான் கட்டின இந்த ஆலயத்துக்கும் நேராக கர்த்தரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினால்,

44. 'Suppose your people go to war against their enemies. It doesn't matter where you send them. And suppose they pray to you toward the city you have chosen. They pray toward the temple I've built for your Name.

45. பரலோகத்தில் இருக்கிற தேவரீர் அவர்கள் விண்ணப்பத்தையும் வேண்டுதலையும் கேட்டு, அவர்கள் நியாயத்தை விசாரிப்பீராக.

45. Then listen to them from heaven. Listen to their prayer. Listen to them when they ask you to show them your favor. Stand up for them.

46. 'Suppose your people sin against you. After all, there isn't anyone who doesn't sin. And suppose you get angry with them. You hand them over to their enemies. They take them as prisoners to their own land. It doesn't matter whether it's near or far away.

47. அவர்கள் சிறைப்பட்டுப் போயிருக்கிற தேசத்திலே தங்களில் உணர்வடைந்து, மனந்திரும்பி: நாங்கள் பாவஞ்செய்து, அக்கிரமம்பண்ணி, துன்மார்க்கமாய் நடந்தோம் என்று தங்கள் சிறையிருப்பான தேசத்திலே உம்மை நோக்கி வேண்டுதல் செய்து,

47. 'But suppose your people change their ways in the land where they are held as prisoners. They turn away from their sins. They beg you to help them in the land of those who won the battle over them. They say, 'We have sinned. We've done what is wrong. We've done what is evil.'

48. தங்களைச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்ட தங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் தேசத்திலே தங்கள் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் தங்கள் முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும் உம்மிடத்தில் திரும்பி, தேவரீர் தங்கள் பிதாக்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த தங்கள் தேசத்திற்கும், தேவரீர் தெரிந்துகொண்ட இந்த நகரத்திற்கும், உம்முடைய நாமத்திற்கு நான் கட்டின இந்த ஆலயத்திற்கும் நேராக உம்மை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணும்போது,

48. And they turn back to you with all their heart and soul. Suppose it happens in the land of their enemies who took them away as prisoners. There they pray to you toward the land you gave their people long ago. They pray toward the city you have chosen. And they pray toward the temple I've built for your Name.

49. உமது வாசஸ்தலமாகிய பரலோகத்திலே இருக்கிற தேவரீர் அவர்கள் விண்ணப்பத்தையும் வேண்டுதலையும் கேட்டு, அவர்கள் நியாயத்தை விசாரித்து,

49. Then listen to them from heaven. It's the place where you live. Listen to their prayer. Listen to them when they ask you to show them your favor. Stand up for them.

50. உம்முடைய ஜனங்கள் உமக்கு விரோதமாய்ச் செய்த பாவத்தையும், அவர்கள் உம்முடைய கட்டளையை மீறிய அவர்கள் துரோகங்களையும் எல்லாம் மன்னித்து, அவர்களைச் சிறைபிடித்துக் கொண்டுபோகிறவர்கள் அவர்களுக்கு இரங்கத்தக்கதான இரக்கத்தை அவர்களுக்குக் கிடைக்கப்பண்ணுவீராக.

50. 'Your people have sinned against you. Please forgive them. Forgive them for all of the wrong things they've done against you. And make those who won the battle over them show mercy to them.

51. அவர்கள் எகிப்தென்கிற இருப்புக் காளவாயின் நடுவிலிருந்து தேவரீர் புறப்படப்பண்ணின உம்முடைய ஜனமும் உம்முடைய சுதந்தரமுமாய் இருக்கிறார்களே.

51. After all, they are your people. They belong to you. You brought them out of Egypt. You brought them out of that furnace that melts iron down and makes it pure.

52. அவர்கள் உம்மை நோக்கி வேண்டிக்கொள்வதின்படியெல்லாம் தேவரீர் அவர்களுக்குச் செய்யும்படி, உம்முடைய கண்கள் உமது அடியானின் வேண்டுதலுக்கும், உமது ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலின் வேண்டுதலுக்கும் திறந்திருப்பதாக.

52. 'Let your eyes be open to me when I ask you to show us your favor. Let them be open to your people Israel when they ask you to show them your favor. Pay attention to them every time they cry out to you.

53. கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவரே, நீர் எங்கள் பிதாக்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணும்போது, உம்முடைய தாசனாகிய மோசேயைக்கொண்டு சொன்னபடியே, தேவரீர் பூமியின் சகல ஜனங்களிலும் அவர்களை உமக்குச் சுதந்தரமாகப் பிரித்தெடுத்தீரே என்று விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினான்.

53. 'After all, you chose them out of all of the nations in the world. You made them your very own people. You did it just as you had announced through your servant Moses. That's when you brought our people out of Egypt. You are our Lord and King.'

54. சாலொமோன் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி, இந்த ஜெபத்தையும் வேண்டுதலையும் எல்லாம் செய்து முடித்தபின்பு, அவன் கர்த்தருடைய பலிபீடத்திற்கு முன்பாகத் தன் கைகளை வானத்திற்கு நேராக விரித்து, முழங்காற்படியிட்டிருந்ததை விட்டெழுந்து,

54. Solomon finished all of those prayers. He finished asking the Lord to show his favor to his people. Then he got up from in front of the Lord's altar. He had been down on his knees with his hands spread out toward heaven.

55. நின்றுகொண்டு, இஸ்ரவேல் சபையையெல்லாம் ஆசீர்வதித்து, உரத்த சத்தத்தோடே சொன்னது:

55. He stood in front of the whole community of Israel. He blessed them with a loud voice. He said,

56. தாம் வாக்குத்தத்தம் பண்ணினபடியெல்லாம் தம்முடைய ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு இளைப்பாறுதலை அருளின கர்த்தருக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம், அவர் தம்முடைய தாசனாகிய மோசேயைக்கொண்டு சொன்ன அவருடைய நல்வார்த்தைகளில் எல்லாம் ஒரு வார்த்தையானாலும் தவறிப்போகவில்லை.

56. 'I praise the Lord. He has given peace and rest to his people Israel. That's exactly what he promised to do. He gave his people good promises through his servant Moses. Every single word of those promises has come true.

57. நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் நம்மைக் கைவிடாமலும், நம்மை நெகிழவிடாமலும், அவர் நம்முடைய பிதாக்களோடு இருந்ததுபோல, நம்மோடும் இருந்து,

57. 'May the Lord our God be with us, just as he was with our people who lived long ago. May he never leave us. May he never desert us.

58. நாம் அவருடைய வழிகளில் எல்லாம் நடக்கிறதற்கும், அவர் நம்முடைய பிதாக்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட அவருடைய கற்பனைகளையும், அவருடைய கட்டளைகளையும், அவருடைய நியாயங்களையும் கைக்கொள்ளுகிறதற்கும், நம்முடைய இருதயத்தைத் தம்மிடத்தில் சாயப்பண்ணுவாராக.

58. May he turn our hearts to him. Then we will live the way he wants us to. We'll obey the commands, rules and directions he gave our people.

59. கர்த்தரே தேவன், வேறொருவரும் இல்லையென்பதைப் பூமியின் ஜனங்களெல்லாம் அறியும்படியாக,

59. 'I've prayed these words to the Lord our God. May he keep them close to him day and night. May he stand up for me. May he also stand up for his people Israel. May he give us what we need every day.

60. அவர் தமது அடியானுடைய நியாயத்தையும், தமது ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலின் நியாயத்தையும், அந்தந்த நாளில் நடக்கும் காரியத்துக்குத்தக்கதாய் விசாரிப்பதற்கு, நான் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணின இந்த என்னுடைய வார்த்தைகள் இரவும்பகலும் நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் இருப்பதாக.

60. Then all of the nations on earth will know that the Lord is God. They'll know that there isn't any other god.

61. ஆதலால் இந்நாளில் இருக்கிறதுபோல, நீங்கள் அவர் கட்டளைகளில் நடந்து, அவர் கற்பனைகளைக் கைக்கொள்ள, உங்கள் இருதயம் நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரோடு உத்தமமாய் இருக்கக்கடவது என்றான்.

61. 'But you must commit your lives completely to the Lord our God. You must live by his rules. You must obey his commands. You must always do as you are doing now.'

62. பின்பு ராஜாவும் அவனோடே இருந்த இஸ்ரவேலர் அனைவரும், கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் பலிகளைச் செலுத்தினார்கள்.

62. Then the king and the whole community of Israel offered sacrifices to the Lord.

63. சாலொமோன் கர்த்தருக்குச் சமாதானபலிகளாக, இருபத்தீராயிரம் மாடுகளையும், இலட்சத்திருபதினாயிரம் ஆடுகளையும் பலியிட்டான்; இவ்விதமாய் ராஜாவும் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் அனைவரும் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தைப் பிரதிஷ்டைபண்ணினார்கள்.

63. Solomon sacrificed friendship offerings to the Lord. He sacrificed 22,000 head of cattle. He also sacrificed 120,000 sheep and goats. So the king and the whole community set the temple of the Lord apart to him.

64. கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் இருந்த வெண்கலப் பலிபீடம் சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையும், போஜனபலிகளையும், சமாதானபலிகளின் நிணத்தையும் கொள்ளமாட்டாமல் சிறிதாயிருந்தபடியினால், ராஜா கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்குமுன் இருக்கிற பிராகாரத்தின் நடுமையத்தைப் பரிசுத்தப்படுத்தி, அன்றையதினம் அங்கே சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையும், போஜனபலிகளையும், சமாதானபலிகளின் நிணத்தையும் செலுத்தினான்.

64. On that same day the king set the middle area of the courtyard apart to the Lord. It was in front of the Lord's temple. There Solomon sacrificed burnt offerings and grain offerings. He also sacrificed the fat of the friendship offerings there. He did it there because the bronze altar in front of the Lord was too small. It wasn't big enough to hold all of the burnt offerings, the grain offerings and the fat of the friendship offerings.

65. அக்காலத்தில்தானே சாலொமோனும், ஆமாத்தின் எல்லைதொடங்கி எகிப்தின் நதிமட்டும் இருந்துவந்து, அவனோடே இருந்த பெரிய கூட்டமாகிய இஸ்ரவேல் அனைத்தும் நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் ஏழுநாளும், அதற்குப்பின்பு வேறே ஏழுநாளும், ஆகப் பதினாலு நாள்வரைக்கும் பண்டிகையை ஆசரித்தார்கள்.

65. At that time Solomon celebrated the Feast of Booths. The whole community of Israel was with him. It was a huge crowd. People came from as far away as Lebo Hamath and the Wadi of Egypt. For seven days they celebrated in front of the Lord our God. The feast continued for seven more days. That made a total of 14 days.

66. எட்டாம் நாளிலே ஜனங்களுக்கு விடைகொடுத்து அனுப்பினான்; அவர்கள் ராஜாவை வாழ்த்தி, கர்த்தர் தமது தாசனாகிய தாவீதுக்கும் தமது ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலுக்கும் செய்த எல்லா நன்மைக்காகவும் சந்தோஷப்பட்டு மனமகிழ்ச்சியோடே தங்கள் கூடாரங்களுக்குப் போய்விட்டார்கள்.

66. On the following day Solomon sent the people away. They asked the Lord to bless the king. Then they went home. The people were glad. Their hearts were full of joy. That's because the Lord had done so many good things for his servant David and his people Israel.
