1. The queen of Sheba heard about Solomon, so she came to test him with hard questions.

2. She traveled to Jerusalem with a very large group of servants. There were many camels carrying spices, jewels, and a lot of gold. She met Solomon and asked him all the questions that she could think of.

3. Solomon answered all the questions. None of her questions was too hard for him to explain.

4. The queen of Sheba saw that Solomon was very wise. She also saw the beautiful palace he had built.

5. She saw the food at the king's table. She saw his officials meeting together. She saw the servants in the palace and the good clothes they wore. She saw his parties and the sacrifices that he offered in the Temple. She was so amazed that it took her breath away.

6. Then she said to King Solomon, 'The stories I heard in my country about your great works and your wisdom are true.

7. I did not believe it until I came and saw it with my own eyes. Now I see that it is even greater than what I heard. Your wealth and wisdom are much greater than people told me.

8. உம்முடைய ஜனங்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள்; எப்போதும் உமக்கு முன்பாக நின்று, உம்முடைய ஞானத்தைக் கேட்கிற உம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரரும் பாக்கியவான்கள்.

8. Your wives and officers are very fortunate, because they serve you and hear your wisdom every day.

9. உம்மை இஸ்ரவேலின் சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் வைக்க, உம்மேல் பிரியங்கொண்ட உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் ஸ்தோத்திரிக்கப்படுவாராக: கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேலை என்றைக்கும் சிநேகிக்கிறபடியினால், நியாயமும் நீதியும் செய்கிறதற்கு உம்மை ராஜாவாக ஏற்படுத்தினார் என்றாள்.

9. Praise the Lord your God! He was pleased to make you king of Israel. The Lord God loves Israel, so he made you the king. You follow the law and treat people fairly.'

10. Then the Queen of Sheba gave King Solomon 4?tons of gold, a great many spices, and valuable stones. She gave him more spices than anyone has ever brought into Israel.

11. ஓப்பீரிலிருந்து பொன்னைக்கொண்டுவருகிற ஈராமின் கப்பல்களும், ஓப்பீரிலிருந்து மிகுந்த வாசனைமரங்களையும் இரத்தினங்களையும் கொண்டுவந்தது.

11. Hiram's ships brought gold from Ophir. They also brought jewels and a special kind of wood.

12. அந்த வாசனைமரங்களால் ராஜா கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்கும் ராஜ அரமனைக்கும் ஊன்றுகால்களையும், சங்கீதக்காரருக்குச் சுரமண்டலங்களையும் தம்புருகளையும் உண்டாக்கினான்; அப்படிப்பட்ட வாசனை மரங்கள் பிற்பாடு வந்ததுமில்லை, இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் காணப்படவுமில்லை.

12. Solomon used this special wood to build supports in the Temple and the palace as well as harps and lyres for the singers. That was the last time such a large shipment of that kind of wood was brought to Israel. There hasn't been any seen around here since then.

13. ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் தானே சந்தோஷமாய்ச் சேபாவின் ராஜஸ்திரீக்கு வெகுமதிகள் கொடுத்ததும் அல்லாமல், அவள் விருப்பப்பட்டுக் கேட்டது எல்லாவற்றையும் அவளுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்; பின்பு அவள் தன் பரிவாரத்தோடே தன் தேசத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப்போனாள்.

13. King Solomon gave the Queen of Sheba everything she asked for. He gave her more than she brought to give him. Then the Queen of Sheba and her servants left and went back to their own country.

14. சாலொமோனுக்கு வியாபாரிகளாலும், சுகந்த திரவிய வர்த்தகராலும், அரபிதேசத்து சகல ராஜாக்களாலும், மாகாணங்களின் அதிபதிகளாலும் வந்த பொன்னையல்லாமல்,

14. Every year King Solomon received almost 25 tons of gold.

15. ஒவ்வொரு வருஷத்தில் அவனுக்கு வந்த பொன் அறுநூற்று அறுபத்தாறு தாலந்து நிறையாயிருந்தது.

15. In addition to the gold brought in by the traveling merchants and traders, all the kings of Arabia and the governors of the land also brought gold and silver to Solomon.

16. சாலொமோன் ராஜா, அடித்த பொன்தகட்டால் இருநூறு பரிசைகளைச் செய்வித்தான்; ஒவ்வொரு பரிசைக்கு அறுநூறு சேக்கல் நிறைபொன் சென்றது.

16. King Solomon made 200 large shields of hammered gold. Each shield contained about 15 pounds of gold.

17. அடித்த பொன்தகட்டால் முந்நூறு கேடகங்களையும் செய்வித்தான்; ஒவ்வொரு கேடகத்திற்கு மூன்று இராத்தல் பொன் சென்றது; அவைகளை ராஜா லீபனோன் வனம் என்னும் மாளிகையிலே வைத்தான்.

17. He also made 300 smaller shields of hammered gold. Each shield contained about 4 pounds of gold. The king put them in the building called the 'Forest of Lebanon.'

18. ராஜா தந்தத்தினால் பெரிய ஒரு சிங்காசனத்தையும் செய்வித்து, அதைப் பசும்பொன்தகட்டால் மூடினான்.

18. King Solomon also built a large throne with ivory decorations. It was covered with pure gold.

19. அந்தச் சிங்காசனத்திற்கு ஆறு படிகள் இருந்தது; சிங்காசனத்தின் தலைப்பு பின்னாக வளைவாயிருந்தது; உட்காரும் இடத்திற்கு இருபுறமும் கைச்சாய்மானங்கள் இருந்தது; இரண்டு சிங்கங்கள் கைச்சாய்மானங்கள் அருகே நின்றது.

19. There were six steps leading up to the throne. The back of the throne was round at the top. There were armrests on both sides of the throne, and there were lions in the sides of the throne under the armrests.

20. ஆறு படிகளின்மேலும், இரண்டு பக்கத்திலும், பன்னிரண்டு சிங்கங்கள் நின்றது; எந்த ராஜ்யத்திலும் இப்படிப் பண்ணப்படவில்லை.

20. There were also two lions on each of the six steps, one at each end. There was nothing like it in any other kingdom.

21. ராஜாவாகிய சாலோமோனுக்கு இருந்த பானபாத்திரங்களெல்லாம் பொன்னும், லீபனோன் வனம் என்கிற மாளிகையின் பணிமுட்டுகளெல்லாம் பசும்பொன்னுமாயிருந்தது; ஒன்றும் வெள்ளியினால் செய்யப்படவில்லை; சாலொமோனின் நாட்களில் வெள்ளி ஒரு பொருளாய் எண்ணப்படவில்லை.

21. All of Solomon's cups and glasses were made of gold, and all of the dishes in the building called the Forest of Lebanon were made from pure gold. Nothing in the palace was made from silver. There was so much gold that in Solomon's time people did not think silver was important.

22. ராஜாவுக்குச் சமுத்திரத்திலே ஈராமின் கப்பல்களோடேகூடத் தர்ஷீசின் கப்பல்களும் இருந்தது; தர்ஷீசின் கப்பல்கள் மூன்று வருஷத்துக்கு ஒருதரம் பொன்னையும், வெள்ளியையும், யானைத்தந்தங்களையும், குரங்குகளையும், மயில்களையும் கொண்டுவரும்.

22. The king also had many cargo ships that he sent out to trade things with other countries. These were Hiram's ships. Every three years the ships would come back with a new load of gold, silver, ivory, and apes and baboons.

23. பூமியின் சகல ராஜாக்களைப்பார்க்கிலும், ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் ஐசுவரியத்திலும் ஞானத்திலும் சிறந்தவனாயிருந்தான்.

23. King Solomon became greater in riches and wisdom than any other king on earth.

24. சாலொமோனின் இருதயத்திலே தேவன் அருளிய ஞானத்தைக் கேட்கிறதற்காக, சகல தேசத்தாரும் அவன் முகதரிசனத்தைத் தேடினார்கள்.

24. People everywhere wanted to see King Solomon and listen to the great wisdom that God had given him.

25. வருஷாவருஷம் அவரவர் தங்கள் காணிக்கையாகிய வெள்ளிப்பாத்திரங்களையும், பொற்பாத்திரங்களையும், வஸ்திரங்களையும், ஆயுதங்களையும், கந்தவர்க்கங்களையும், குதிரைகளையும், கோவேறு கழுதைகளையும் கொண்டு வருவார்கள்.

25. Every year people came to see the king and brought gifts made from gold and silver, clothes, weapons, spices, horses, and mules.

26. சாலொமோன் இரதங்களையும் குதிரைவீரரையும் சேர்த்தான்; அவனுக்கு ஆயிரத்துநானூறு இரதங்கள் இருந்தது, பன்னீராயிரம் குதிரைவீரரும் இருந்தார்கள்; அவைகளை இரதங்கள் வைக்கும் பட்டணங்களிலும், அவர்களை எருசலேமில் தன்னிடத்திலும் வைத்திருந்தான்.

26. Solomon had a great number of chariots and horses. He had 1400 chariots and 12,000 horse soldiers. He built special cities for these chariots. So the chariots were kept in these cities. King Solomon also kept some of the chariots with him in Jerusalem.

27. எருசலேமிலே ராஜா வெள்ளியைக் கற்கள் போலவும், கேதுருமரங்களைப் பள்ளத்தாக்குகளில் இருக்கும் காட்டத்திமரங்கள்போலவும் அதிகமாக்கினான்.

27. The king made Israel very rich. In the city of Jerusalem, silver was as common as rocks and cedar wood was as common as the many fig trees growing on the hills.

28. சாலொமோன் தனக்குக் குதிரைகளையும் புடவைகளையும் எகிப்திலிருந்து அழைப்பித்தான்; ராஜாவின் வர்த்தகர் புடவைகளை ஒப்பந்த விலைக்கிரயத்திற்கு வாங்கினார்கள்.

28. Solomon brought horses from Egypt and Kue. His traders bought them in Kue and brought them to Israel.

29. எகிப்திலிருந்து வந்த ஒவ்வொரு இரதத்தின் விலை அறுநூறு வெள்ளிக்காசும், ஒவ்வொரு குதிரையின் விலை நூற்றைம்பது வெள்ளிக் காசுமாயிருந்தது; இந்தப்பிரகாரம் ஏத்தியரின் ராஜாக்களெல்லாருக்கும், சீரியாவின் ராஜாக்களுக்கும், அவர்கள் மூலமாய்க் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டது.

29. A chariot from Egypt cost about 15 pounds of silver, and a horse cost almost 4 pounds of silver. Solomon sold horses and chariots to the kings of the Hittites and the Arameans.
