1. தேவனுடைய நாமமும் உபதேசமும் தூஷிக்கப்படாதபடிக்கு, அடிமைத்தன நுகத்திற்குட்பட்டிருக்கிற வேலைக்காரர் யாவரும் தங்கள் எஜமான்களை எல்லாக்கனத்திற்கும் பாத்திரரென்று எண்ணிக்கொள்ளக்கடவர்கள்.

1. Let all who are under a yoke as slaves regard their own masters as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be reviled.

2. விசுவாசிகளாகிய எஜமான்களை உடையவர்கள், தங்கள் எஜமான்கள் சகோதரராயிருக்கிறதினாலே அவர்களை அசட்டைபண்ணாமல், நல்வேலையின் பலனைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிற அவர்கள் விசுவாசிகளும் பிரியருமாயிருக்கிறபடியால், அவர்களுக்கு அதிகமாய் ஊழியஞ்செய்யக்கடவர்கள்; இந்தப்படியே போதித்துப் புத்திசொல்லு.

2. Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful on the ground that they are brothers; rather they must serve all the better since those who benefit by their good service are believers and beloved. Teach and urge these things.

3. ஒருவன் நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் ஆரோக்கியமான வசனங்களையும், தேவபக்திக்கேற்ற உபதேசங்களையும் ஒப்புக்கொள்ளாமல், வேற்றுமையான உபதேசங்களைப் போதிக்கிறவனானால்,

3. If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness,

4. he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions,

5. கெட்ட சிந்தையுள்ளவர்களும் சத்தியமில்லாதவர்களும் தேவபக்தியை ஆதாயத்தொழிலென்று எண்ணுகிறவர்களுமாயிருக்கிற மனுஷர்களால் உண்டாகும் மாறுபாடான தர்க்கங்களும் பிறக்கும்; இப்படிப்பட்டவர்களை விட்டு விலகு.

5. and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.

6. போதுமென்கிற மனதுடனே கூடிய தேவபக்தியே மிகுந்த ஆதாயம்.

6. Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment,

7. உலகத்திலே நாம் ஒன்றும் கொண்டுவந்ததுமில்லை, இதிலிருந்து நாம் ஒன்றும் கொண்டுபோவதுமில்லை என்பது நிச்சயம்.

7. for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world.

12. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

14. to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
