1. உன் சகோதரனுடைய மாடாவது ஆடாவது வழிதப்பிப்போகிறதைக் கண்டாயானால், அதைக் காணாதவன்போல் இராமல், அதை உன் சகோதரனிடத்துக்குத் திருப்பிக்கொண்டு போகக்கடவாய்.

1. Thou shalt not see the ox of thy brother or his sheep, going astray, and turn away from them, thou shalt, bring them back unto thy brother.

2. உன் சகோதரன் உனக்குச் சமீபமாயிராமலும், உனக்கு அறிமுகமாயிராமலும் இருந்தால், நீ அதை உன் வீட்டிற்குக் கொண்டுபோய், அதை உன் சகோதரன் தேடிவருமட்டும் உன்னிடத்திலே வைத்து, அவனுக்குத் திரும்பக் கொடுக்கக்கடவாய்.

2. And, if thy brother be not nigh unto thee or thou know him not, then shalt thou make room for it within thee own shed and it shall be with thee, until thy brother seek after it, when thou shalt return it unto him.

3. அப்படியே அவன் கழுதையைக்குறித்தும் செய்யக்கடவாய்; அவன் வஸ்திரத்தைக்குறித்தும் அப்படியே செய்யக்கடவாய்; உன் சகோதரனிடத்திலிருந்து காணாமற்போனவைகளில் எதையாகிலும் கண்டுபிடித்தாயானால் அப்படியே செய்யக்கடவாய்; அவைகளை நீ காணாதவன் போல் விட்டுப்போகலாகாது.

3. And, so, shalt thou do with his ass, and, so, shalt thou do with his mantle and, so, shalt thou do with any lost thing of thy brothers, which shall go astray from him and thou shalt find, thou mayest not turn away.

4. உன் சகோதரனுடைய கழுதையாவது அவனுடைய மாடாவது வழியிலே விழுந்துகிடக்கிறதைக் கண்டாயானால், அதைக் காணாதவன்போல விட்டுப்போகாமல், அவனோடேகூட அதைத் தூக்கியெடுத்துவிடுவாயாக.

4. Thou shalt not see the ass of thy brother or his ox fallen in the way, and turn away from them, thou shalt, raise, them with him.

5. புருஷரின் உடைகளை ஸ்திரீகள் தரிக்கலாகாது, ஸ்திரீகளின் உடைகளைப் புருஷர் தரிக்கலாகாது; அப்படிச் செய்கிறவர்கள் எல்லாரும் உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு அருவருப்பானவர்கள்.

5. A woman shall not have on the wearing apparel of a man, nor shall a man put on the mantle of a woman; for an abomination to Yahweh thy God, is any one who doeth these things.

6. வழியருகே ஒரு மரத்திலாவது தரையிலாவது குஞ்சுகளாயினும் முட்டைகளாயினுமுள்ள ஒரு குருவிக்கூடு உனக்குத் தென்படும்போது, தாயானது குஞ்சுகளின் மேலாவது முட்டைகளின் மேலாவது அடைகாத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தால், நீ குஞ்சுகளோடே தாயையும் பிடிக்கலாகாது.

6. When a bird's-nest chanceth to be before thee, in the way, in any tree or upon the ground, whether with nestlings or eggs, and, the mother, be sitting upon the nestlings or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the mother upon the young;

7. தாயைப் போகவிட்டு, குஞ்சுகளை மாத்திரம் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளலாம்; அப்பொழுது நீ நன்றாயிருப்பாய்; உன் நாட்களும் நீடித்திருக்கும்.

7. thou shalt let toll the mother, and then, her young, mayest thou take for thyself, that it may go well with thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days.

8. நீ புது வீட்டைக் கட்டினால், ஒருவன் உன் மெத்தையிலிருந்து விழுகிறதினாலே, நீ இரத்தப்பழியை உன் வீட்டின்மேல் சுமத்திக்கொள்ளாதபடிக்கு, அதற்குக் கைப்பிடிசுவரைக் கட்டவேண்டும்.

8. When thou buildest a new house, then shalt thou make a parapet to thy roof, so shalt thou not treasure up blood-guiltiness against thy house, for he that is in danger of falling might fall therefrom.

9. உன் திராட்சத்தோட்டத்திலே பற்பலவிதமான விதையை விதைக்காயாக; இப்படிச் செய்தால் நீ விதைத்தவைகளின் பயிரையும், திராட்சத்தோட்டத்தின் பலனையும் தீட்டுப்படுத்துவாய்.

9. Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with two sorts of seed, lest the fulness of the seed which thou sowest, and the increase of thy vineyard be profaned.

10. மாட்டையும், கழுதையையும் பிணைத்து உழாதிருப்பாயாக.

10. Thou shalt not plough with an ox and an ass together,

11. ஆட்டுமயிரும் பஞ்சுநூலும் கலந்த வஸ்திரத்தை உடுத்திக்கொள்ளாயாக.

11. Thou shalt not put on linsey-woolsey, of wool and flax together.

12. நீ தரித்துக்கொள்ளுகிற உன் மேல்சட்டையின் நான்கு ஓரங்களிலும் தொங்கல்களை உண்டுபண்ணுவாயாக.

12. Tassels, shalt thou make thee, on the four corners of thy vesture, wherewith thou dost cover thyself.

13. ஒரு ஸ்திரீயை விவாகம்பண்ணின ஒருவன் அவளிடத்தில் பிரவேசித்த பின்பு அவளை வெறுத்து:

13. When a man taketh a wife, and goeth in unto her and hateth her;

14. நான் இந்த ஸ்திரீயை விவாகம்பண்ணி, அவளிடத்தில் சேர்ந்தபோது கன்னிமையைக் காணவில்லை என்று அவள் மேல் ஆவலாதியான விசேஷங்களைச் சாற்றி, அவளுக்கு அவதூறு உண்டாக்கினால்;

14. and raiseth against her occasions of speech, and bringeth upon her an evil name, and saith This woman, I took, and approached her, and found not that she had the tokens of virginity,

15. அந்த ஸ்திரீயின் தகப்பனும் அவள் தாயும் அவளுடைய கன்னிமையின் அடையாளத்தைப் பட்டணத்து வாசலிலுள்ள மூப்பரிடத்தில் கொண்டுவரக்கடவர்கள்.

15. then shall the father of the damsel and her mother take and bring forth the tokens of the virginity of the damsel, unto the elders of the city, in the gate;

16. அங்கே அந்தப் பெண்ணின் தகப்பன்: என் மகளை இந்த மனிதனுக்கு மனைவியாகக் கொடுத்தேன், இவன் அவளை வெறுத்து,

16. and the father of the damsel shall say unto the elders, My daughter, gave I unto this man to wife and he hated her;

17. நான் உன் மகளிடத்தில் கன்னிமையைக் காணவில்லையென்று ஆவலாதியான விசேஷங்களை அவள்மேல் சாற்றுகிறான்; என் மகளுடைய கன்னிமையின் அடையாளம் இங்கே இருக்கிறது என்று மூப்பரிடத்தில் சொல்வானாக; பின்பு பட்டணத்து மூப்பருக்கு முன்பாக அந்த வஸ்திரத்தை விரிக்கக்கடவர்கள்.

17. and lo! he, hath raised occasions of speech, saying I found not that thy daughter had the tokens of virginity and yet, these, are the tokens of the virginity of my daughter. And they shall spread out the garment before the elders of the city.

18. அப்பொழுது அந்தப் பட்டணத்து மூப்பர் அந்த மனிதனைப் பிடித்து, அவனைத் தண்டித்து,

18. Then shall the elders of that city take the man, and chastise him;

19. அவன் இஸ்ரவேலில் ஒரு கன்னியை அவதூறுபண்ணினதினாலே, அவன் கையில் நூறு வெள்ளிக்காசை அபராதமாக வாங்கி, பெண்ணின் தகப்பனுக்குக் கொடுக்கக்கடவர்கள்; அவளோ அவனுக்கு மனைவியாயிருக்க வேண்டும்; அவன் தன் ஜீவனுள்ளளவும் அவளைத் தள்ளிவிடக்கூடாது.

19. and fine him a hundred shekels of silver and give unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought an evil name upon a virgin of Israel, and she shall remain his wife, he may not put her away, all his days.

20. அந்தப் பெண்ணிடத்தில் கன்னிமை காணப்படவில்லையென்னும் சங்கதி மெய்ப்பட்டதேயானால்,

20. But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found with the damsel,

21. அந்தப் பெண்ணை அவள் தகப்பனுடைய வீட்டுவாசலுக்கு முன்பாகக் கொண்டுவந்து, அவள் இஸ்ரவேலில் மதிகெட்ட காரியத்தைச் செய்து, தன் தகப்பன் வீட்டிலே வேசித்தனம்பண்ணினபடியினாலே, அவளுடைய பட்டணத்து மனிதர் அவளைக் கல்லெறிந்து கொல்லக்கடவர்கள்; இப்படியே தீமையை உன் நடுவிலிருந்து விலக்கக்கடவாய்.

21. then shall they bring forth the damsel into the entrance of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die, because she hath wrought wickedness in Israel, by committing unchastity in her father's house, so shalt thou consume the wicked thing out of thy midst.

22. புருஷனுக்கு விவாகம்பண்ணப்பட்ட ஸ்திரீயோடே ஒருவன் சயனிக்கக் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டால், அந்த ஸ்திரீயோடே சயனித்த மனிதனும் அந்த ஸ்திரீயும் இருவரும் சாகவேண்டும்; இப்படியே தீமையை இஸ்ரவேலிலிருந்து விலக்கக்கடவாய்.

22. When a man is found lying with a woman married to a husband, then shall, both, of them die, the man that lay with the woman, and the woman, so shalt thou consume the wicked thing out of Israel.

23. கன்னிகையான ஒரு பெண் ஒருவனுக்கு நியமிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கையில், மற்றொருவன் அவளை ஊருக்குள்ளே கண்டு, அவளோடே சயனித்தால்,

23. When a damsel that is a virgin is betrothed to a husband, and a man findeth her in the city, and lieth with her,

24. அப்பொழுது அந்தப் பெண் ஊருக்குள்ளிருந்தும் கூக்குரலிடாததினாலும், அந்த மனிதன் பிறனுடைய மனைவியைக் கற்பழித்தபடியினாலும், இருவரையும் அந்தப் பட்டணத்து வாசலுக்குமுன் கொண்டுபோய், அவர்கள்மேல் கல்லெறிந்து கொல்லக்கடவீர்கள்; இப்படியே தீமையை உன் நடுவிலிருந்து விலக்கக்கடவாய்.

24. then shall ye bring them, both, out unto the gate of that city, and stone them with stones that they die, the damsel, because she made not an outcry in the city, and the man because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife, so shalt thou consume the wicked thing out of thy midst.

25. ஒருவனுக்கு நியமிக்கப்பட்ட பெண்ணை வெளியிலே ஒருவன் கண்டு, அவளைப் பலவந்தமாய்ப் பிடித்து, அவளோடே சயனித்தானேயாகில், அவளோடே சயனித்த மனிதன் மாத்திரம் சாகக்கடவன்.

25. But if in the field, the man find the betrothed damsel and the man force her and lie with her, then shall the man that lay with her die he alone;

26. பெண்ணுக்கு ஒன்றும் செய்யலாகாது; பெண்ணின்மேல் சாவுக்கு ஏதுவான குற்றம் இல்லை; இக்காரியம் ஒருவன் மற்றொருவன்மேல் எழும்பி அவனுடைய ஜீவனை வாங்கினதுபோல இருக்கிறது.

26. but, unto the damsel, shalt thou do nothing, the damsel, is not guilty of a sin worthy of death, for as when a man riseth up against his neighbour, and smiteth him so as to take away life, so, is this matter;

27. வெளியிலே அவன் அவளைக் கண்டுபிடித்தான்; நியமிக்கப்பட்ட பெண் அப்பொழுது கூக்குரலிட்டும் அவளைக் காப்பாற்றுவார் இல்லாமற்போயிற்று.

27. for in the field, he found her, the betrothed damsel, made an outcry, and there was none to save her.

28. நியமிக்கப்படாத கன்னியாஸ்திரீயாகிய ஒரு பெண்ணை ஒருவன் கண்டு, கையைப் பிடித்து அவளோடே சயனிக்கையில், அவர்கள் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டால்,

28. When a man findeth a damsel that is a virgin who is not betrothed, and layeth hold of her and lieth with her, and they are found,

29. அவளோடே சயனித்த மனிதன் பெண்ணின் தகப்பனுக்கு ஐம்பது வெள்ளிக்காசைக் கொடுக்கக்கடவன்; அவன் அவளைக் கற்பழித்தபடியினால், அவள் அவனுக்கு மனைவியாயிருக்கவேண்டும்; அவன் உயிரோடிருக்குமளவும் அவளைத் தள்ளிவிடக்கூடாது.

29. then shall the man who lay with her give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be, his, wife, because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away, all his days.

30. ஒருவனும் தன் தகப்பனுடைய மனைவியைச் சேரலாகாது; தன் தகப்பன் மானத்தை அவன் வெளிப்படுத்தலாகாது.

30. A man shall not take his father's wife, neither shall he turn aside his father's coverlet.
