1. பழுதும் அவலட்சணமுமுள்ள யாதொரு மாட்டையாவது ஆட்டையாவது உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பலியிடவேண்டாம்; அது உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு அவருவருப்பாயிருக்கும்.

1. Thou shalt offer vnto the Lord thy God no bullocke nor sheepe wherein is blemish or any euill fauoured thing: for that is an abomination vnto the Lord thy God.

2. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக எந்தப் புருஷனாவது ஸ்திரீயாவது உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குக் கொடுக்கிற வாசல்கள் ஒன்றில் அக்கிரமஞ்செய்து, அவருடைய உடன்படிக்கையை மீறி,

2. If there be founde among you in any of thy cities, which the Lord thy God giueth thee, man or woman that hath wrought wickednes in the sight of the Lord thy God, in transgressing his couenant,

3. நான் விலக்கியிருக்கிற வேறே தேவர்களையாவது சந்திரசூரியர் முதலான வானசேனைகளையாவது சேவித்து, அவைகளை நமஸ்கரிக்கிறதாகக் காணப்பட்டால்,

3. And hath gone and serued other gods, and worshipped them: as the sunne, or the moone, or any of the hoste of heauen, which I haue not commanded,

4. அது உன் செவிகேட்க உனக்கு அறிவிக்கப்படும்போது, நீ அதை நன்றாய் விசாரிக்கக்கடவாய்; அது மெய் என்றும், அப்படிப்பட்ட அருவருப்பு இஸ்ரவேலில் நடந்தது நிச்சயம் என்றும் கண்டாயானால்,

4. And it be tolde vnto thee, and thou hast heard it, then shalt thou inquire diligently: and if it be true, and the thing certaine, that such abomination is wrought in Israel,

5. அந்த அக்கிரமத்தைச் செய்த புருஷனையாவது ஸ்திரீயையாவது உன் வாசல்களுக்கு வெளியே கொண்டுபோய், அப்படிப்பட்டவர்கள் சாகும்படி கல்லெறியக்கடவாய்.

5. Then shalt thou bring foorth that man, or that woman (which haue committed that wicked thing) vnto thy gates, whether it be man or woman, and shalt stone them with stones, til they die.

6. சாவுக்குப் பாத்திரமானவன் இரண்டு மூன்று சாட்சிகளுடைய வாக்கினால் கொலை செய்யப்படக்கடவன்; ஒரே சாட்சியினுடைய வாக்கினால் அவன் கொலை செய்யப்படலாகாது.

6. At the mouth of two or three witnesses shall he that is woorthie of death, die: but at the mouth of one witnesse, he shall not die.

7. அவனைக் கொலை செய்கிறதற்குச் சாட்சிகளுடைய கைகள் முந்தியும் எல்லா ஜனங்களுடைய கைகள் பிந்தியும் அவன்மேல் இருப்பதாக; இப்படியே தீமையை உன் நடுவிலிருந்து விலக்கக்கடவாய்.

7. The handes of the witnesses shall be first vpon him, to kill him: and afterward the hands of all the people: so thou shalt take the wicked away from among you.

8. உன் வாசல்களில் இரத்தப்பழிகளைக்குறித்தும், வியாச்சியங்களைக்குறித்தும், காயம்பட்ட சேதங்களைக்குறித்தும், வழக்கு நேரிட்டு, நியாயந்தீர்ப்பது உனக்கு அரிதாயிருந்தால், நீ எழுந்து, உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தெரிந்து ஏற்படுத்தின ஸ்தானத்திற்குப்போய்,

8. If there rise a matter too harde for thee in iudgement betweene blood and blood, betweene plea and plea, betweene plague and plague, in the matters of controuersie within thy gates, then shalt thou arise, and goe vp vnto the place which the Lord thy God shall chuse,

9. லேவியரான ஆசாரியரிடத்திலும் அந்நாட்களில் இருக்கிற நியாயாதிபதியினிடத்திலும் விசாரிக்கவேண்டும்; நியாயம் இன்னதென்று அவர்கள் உனக்கு அறிவிப்பார்கள்.

9. And thou shalt come vnto the Priestes of the Leuites, and vnto the iudge that shall be in those daies, and aske, and they shall shewe thee the sentence of iudgement,

10. கர்த்தர் தெரிந்துகொண்ட இடத்திலிருந்து அவர்கள் உனக்கு அறிவிக்கும் தீர்ப்புக்கு நீ இணங்கி, அவர்கள் உனக்கு விதிக்கிறபடி செய்யக் கவனமாயிருப்பாயாக.

10. And thou shalt do according to that thing which they of that place (which the Lord hath chosen) shewe thee, and thou shalt obserue to doe according to all that they informe thee.

11. அவர்கள் உனக்கு அறிவிக்கும் தீர்ப்பை விட்டு வலதுபுறம் இடதுபுறம் சாயாமல், அவர்கள் உனக்கு உணர்த்தும் பிரமாணத்தின்படியும், உனக்குச் சொல்லும் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பின்படியும் செய்யக்கடவாய்.

11. According to the Lawe, which they shall teach thee, and according to the iudgement which they shall tell thee, shalt thou doe: thou shalt not decline from the thing which they shall shew thee, neither to the right hand, nor to the left.

12. அங்கே உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஆராதனை செய்யும்படி நிற்கிற ஆசாரியனுடைய சொல்லையாகிலும், நியாயாதிபதியினுடைய சொல்லையாகிலும் கேளாமல், ஒருவன் இடும்புசெய்தால், அவன் சாகக்கடவன்; இப்படியே தீமையை இஸ்ரவேலிலிருந்து விலக்கக்கடவாய்.

12. And that man that wil doe presumptuously, not hearkening vnto the Priest (that standeth before the Lord thy God to minister there) or vnto the iudge, that man shall die, and thou shalt take away euill from Israel.

13. அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் அதைக் கேட்டு, பயந்து, இனி இடும்பு செய்யாதிருப்பார்கள்.

13. So all the people shall heare and feare, and doe no more presumptuously.

14. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தில் நீ போய்ச் சேர்ந்து, அதைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொண்டு, அதில் குடியேறினபின், நீ: என்னைச் சுற்றிலும் இருக்கிற சகல ஜாதிகளையும் போல, நானும் எனக்கு ஒரு ராஜாவை ஏற்படுத்தவேண்டும் என்பாயானால்;

14. Whe thou shalt come vnto ye land which the Lord thy God giueth thee, and shalt possesse it, and dwell therein, if thou say, I will set a King ouer me, like as all the nations that are about me,

15. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தெரிந்து கொள்பவனையே உனக்கு ராஜாவாக வைக்கக்கடவாய்; உன் சகோதரருக்குள்ளிருக்கிற ஒருவனையே உன்மேல் ராஜாவாக எற்படுத்தக்கடவாய்; உன் சகோதரன் அல்லாத அந்நியனை ராஜாவாக ஏற்படுத்தக்கூடாது.

15. Then thou shalt make him King ouer thee, whome the Lord thy God shall chuse: from among thy brethren shalt thou make a King ouer thee: thou shalt not set a stranger ouer thee, which is not thy brother.

16. அவன் அநேக குதிரைகளைச் சம்பாதியாமலும் அநேக குதிரைகளைத் தனக்குச் சம்பாதிக்கும்படிக்கு ஜனங்களைத் திரும்ப எகிப்திற்குப் போகப்பண்ணாமலும் இருக்கக்கடவன்; இனி அந்த வழியாய் நீங்கள் திரும்பிப்போகவேண்டாம் என்று கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லியிருக்கிறாரே.

16. In any wise he shall not prepare him many horses, nor bring the people againe to Egypt, for to encrease the number of horses, seeing the Lord hath sayd vnto you, Ye shall henceforth goe no more againe that way.

17. அவன் இருதயம் பின்வாங்கிப் போகாதபடி அவன் அநேகம் ஸ்திரீகளைப் படைக்கவேண்டாம்; வெள்ளியும் பொன்னும் தனக்கு மிகுதியாய்ப் பெருகப்பண்ணவும் வேண்டாம்.

17. Neither shall hee take him many wiues, lest his heart turne away, neither shall he gather him much siluer and golde.

18. அவன் தன் சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் வீற்றிருக்கும்போது, அவனுடைய இருதயம் அவன் சகோதரர்பேரில் மேட்டிமை கொள்ளாமலும், கற்பனையைவிட்டு வலதுபுறம் இடதுபுறம் சாயாமலும்,

18. And when he shall sit vpon the throne of his kingdo, then shall he write him this Law repeted in a booke, by the Priests of the Leuites.

19. இந்த நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின் எல்லா வார்த்தைகளையும், இந்தக் கட்டளைகளையும் கைக்கொண்டு, இவைகளின்படி செய்வதற்காகத் தன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்திருக்கும்படி கற்றுக்கொள்ளும்பொருட்டு,

19. And it shall be with him, and he shall reade therein all daies of his life, that he may learne to feare the Lord his God, and to keepe all ye words of this Lawe, and these ordinances for to doe them:

20. அவன் லேவியராகிய ஆசாரியரிடத்திலிருக்கிற நியாயப்பிரமாண நூலைப்பார்த்து, தனக்காக ஒரு பிரதியை எழுதி, தன்னிடத்தில் வைத்துக்கொண்டு, தன் ஜீவனுள்ள நாளெல்லாம் அதை வாசிக்கக்கடவன்; இப்படிச் செய்வதினால், தானும் தன் குமாரரும் இஸ்ரவேலின் நடுவே தங்கள் ராஜ்யத்திலே நீடித்து வாழுவார்கள்.

20. That his heart be not lifted vp aboue his brethren, and that he turne not from the commandement, to the right hand or to the left, but that he may prolong his daies in his kingdom, he, and his sonnes in the middes of Israel.
