1. அந்த வாதை தீர்ந்தபின்பு, கர்த்தர் மோசேயையும் ஆரோனின் குமாரனும் ஆசாரியனுமாகிய எலெயாசாரையும் நோக்கி:

1. And it came to pass after the plague, that the Lord spoke to Moses and Eleazar the priest, saying,

2. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் சமஸ்த சபையாரையும் அவர்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய வம்சத்தின்படி இருபது வயதுமுதல் அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட இஸ்ரவேலிலே யுத்தத்திற்குப் புறப்படத்தக்கவர்கள் எல்லாரையும் எண்ணுங்கள் என்றார்.

2. Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, according to the houses of their lineage, everyone that goes forth to battle in Israel.

3. அப்பொழுது மோசேயும் ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாரும் எரிகோவின் அருகே இருக்கும் யோர்தானுக்கு இப்பாலே மோவாபின் சமனான வெளிகளிலே அவர்களோடே பேசி:

3. And Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke in Araboth of Moab at the Jordan by Jericho, saying,

4. கர்த்தர் மோசேக்கும் எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்ட இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்கும் கட்டளையிட்டிருக்கிறபடியே, இருபது வயதுமுதற்கொண்டிருக்கிறவர்களை எண்ணுங்கள் என்றார்கள்.

4. [This is the numbering] from twenty years old and upward as the Lord commanded Moses. And the sons of Israel that came out of Egypt [are as follows]:

5. ரூபன் இஸ்ரவேலின் மூத்த குமாரன்: ரூபனுடைய குமாரர், ஆனோக்கியர் குடும்பத்துக்குத் தகப்பனான ஆனோக்கும், பல்லூவியர் குடும்பத்துக்குத் தகப்பனான பல்லூவும்,

5. Reuben [was] the firstborn of Israel: and the sons of Reuben, Enoch and the family of Hanoch; to Pallu belongs the family of the Palluites.

6. எஸ்ரோனியர் குடும்பத்துக்குத் தகப்பனான எஸ்ரோனும், கர்மீயர் குடும்பத்துக்குத் தகப்பனான கர்மீயுமே.

6. To Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: to Carmi, the family of Carmi.

7. இவைகளே ரூபனியரின் குடும்பங்கள்; அவர்களில் எண்ணப்பட்டவர்கள் நாற்பத்து மூவாயிரத்து எழுநூற்று முப்பதுபேர்.

7. These [are] the families of Reuben; and their numbering was forty-three thousand seven hundred and thirty.

8. பல்லூவின் குமாரன் எலியாப்.

8. And the son of Pallu [was] Eliab.

9. எலியாபின் குமாரர் நேமுவேல், தாத்தான், அபிராம் என்பவர்கள்; இந்தத் தாத்தான் அபிராம் என்பவர்களே சபையில் பேர்பெற்றவர்களாயிருந்து, கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாகப் போராட்டம்பண்ணி, கோராகின் கூட்டாளிகளாகி, மோசேக்கும் ஆரோனுக்கும் விரோதமாக விவாதம்பண்ணினவர்கள்.

9. And the sons of Eliab [were] Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram: these [are] renowned men of the congregation; these are they that rose up against Moses and Aaron in the gathering of Korah, in the rebellion against the Lord.

10. பூமி தன் வாயைத் திறந்து, அவர்களையும் கோராகையும் விழுங்கினதினாலும், அக்கினி இருநூற்று ஐம்பதுபேரைப் பட்சித்ததினாலும், அந்தக் கூட்டத்தார் செத்து, ஒரு அடையாளமானார்கள்.

10. And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up them and Korah, when their assembly perished, when the fire devoured the two hundred and fifty, and they were made a sign.

11. கோராகின் குமாரரோ சாகவில்லை.

11. But the sons of Korah died not.

12. சிமியோனுடைய குமாரரின் குடும்பங்களாவன: நேமுவேலின் சந்ததியான நேமுவேலரின் குடும்பமும், யாமினியின் சந்ததியான, யாமினியரின் குடும்பமும், யாகீனின் சந்ததியான யாகீனியரின் குடும்பமும்,

12. And the sons of Simeon according to their families [were]: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; to Jamin the family of the Jaminites; to Jachin the family of the Jachinites.

13. சேராகின் சந்ததியான சேராகியரின் குடும்பமும், சவுலின் சந்ததியான சவுலியரின் குடும்பமுமே.

13. To Zerah the family of the Zarhites; to Saul the family of the Saulites.

14. இவைகளே சிமியோனியரின் குடும்பங்கள்; அவர்கள் இருபத்தீராயிரத்து இருநூறுபேர்.

14. These [are] the families of Simeon according to their numbering: twenty-two thousand two hundred.

15. காத்துடைய குமாரரின் குடும்பங்களாவன: சிப்போனின் சந்ததியான சிப்போனியரின் குடும்பமும், ஆகியின் சந்ததியான ஆகியரின் குடும்பமும், சூனியின் சந்ததியான சூனியரின் குடும்பமும்,

15. The sons of Gad according to their families [were]: to Zephon, the family of the Zephonites; to Haggi, the family of the Haggites; to Shuni, the family of the Shunites;

16. ஒஸ்னியின் சந்ததியான ஒஸ்னியரின் குடும்பமும், ஏரியின் சந்ததியான ஏரியரின் குடும்பமும்,

16. to Ozni, the family of the Oznites; to Eri, the family of the Erites;

17. ஆரோதின் சந்ததியான ஆரோதியரின் குடும்பமும், அரேலியின் சந்ததியான அரேலியரின் குடும்பமுமே.

17. to Arodi, the family of the Arodites; to Ariel, the family of the Arielites.

18. These [are] the families of the children of Gad according to their numbering: forty-four thousand five hundred.

19. யூதாவின் குமாரர் ஏர், ஓனான் என்பவர்கள்; ஏரும், ஓனானும் கானான்தேசத்தில் செத்தார்கள்.

19. And the sons of Judah [were] Er and Onan; and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.

20. யூதாவுடைய மற்றக் குமாரரின் குடும்பங்களாவன: சேலாவின் சந்ததியான சேலாவியரின் குடும்பமும், பாரேசின் சந்ததியான பாரேசியரின் குடும்பமும், சேராவின் சந்ததியான சேராவியரின் குடும்பமுமே.

20. And these were the sons of Judah, according to their families: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; of Perez, the family of the Parzites; of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites.

21. பாரேசுடைய குமாரரின் குடும்பங்களாவன: எஸ்ரோனின் சந்ததியான எஸ்ரோனியரின் குடும்பமும், ஆமூலின் சந்ததியான ஆமூலியரின் குடும்பமுமே.

21. And the sons of Perez were: to Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; to Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.

22. இவைகளே யூதாவின் குடும்பங்கள்; அவர்களில் எண்ணப்பட்டவர்கள் எழுபத்தாறாயிரத்து ஐந்நூறுபேர்.

22. These [are] the families of Judah according to their numbering: seventy-six thousand five hundred.

23. இசக்காருடைய குமாரரின் குடும்பங்களாவன: தோலாவின் சந்ததியான தோலாவியரின் குடும்பமும், பூவாவின் சந்ததியான பூவாவியரின் குடும்பமும்,

23. And the sons of Issachar according to their families [were]: of Tola, the family of the Tolaites; of Puah, the family of the Punites.

24. யாசூபின் சந்ததியான யாசூபியரின் குடும்பமும், சிம்ரோனின் சந்ததியான சிம்ரோனியரின் குடும்பமுமே.

24. Of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites; of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites.

25. இவைகளே இசக்காரின் குடும்பங்கள்; அவர்களில் எண்ணப்பட்டவர்கள் அறுபத்து நாலாயிரத்து முந்நூறுபேர்.

25. These [are] the families of Issachar according to their numbering: sixty-four thousand four hundred.

26. செபுலோனுடைய குமாரரின் குடும்பங்களாவன: சேரேத்தின் சந்ததியான சேரேத்தியரின் குடும்பமும், ஏலோனின் சந்ததியான ஏலோனியரின் குடும்பமும், யாலேயேலின் சந்ததியான யாலேயேலியரின் குடும்பமுமே.

26. The sons of Zebulun according to their families [were]: of Sered, the family of the Sardites; of Elon, the family of the Elonites; of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites.

27. இவைகளே செபுலோனியரின் குடும்பங்கள்; அவர்களில் எண்ணப்பட்டவர்கள் அறுபதினாயிரத்து ஐந்நூறுபேர்.

27. These [are] the families of Zebulun according to their numbering: sixty thousand five hundred.

28. யோசேப்புடைய குமாரரான மனாசே எப்பிராயீம் என்பவர்களின் குடும்பங்களாவன:

28. The sons of Joseph according to their families [were:] Mannasseh and Ephraim.

29. மனாசேயினுடைய குமாரரின் குடும்பங்கள்; மாகீரின் சந்ததியான மாகீரியரின் குடும்பமும், மாகீர் பெற்ற கிலெயாதின் சந்ததியான கிலெயாதியரின் குடும்பமும்,

29. The sons of Mannasseh: of Machir the family of the Machirites; and Machir begot Gilead: of Gilead, the family of the Gileadites.

30. கிலெயாத் பெற்ற ஈயேசேரின் சந்ததியான ஈயேசேரியரின் குடும்பமும், ஏலேக்கின் சந்ததியான ஏலேக்கியரின் குடும்பமும்,

30. And these [are] the sons of Galaad: of Abiezer, the family of the Abiezerites; of Helek, the family of the Helekites;

31. அஸ்ரியேலின் சந்ததியான அஸ்ரியேலரின் குடும்பமும், சேகேமின் சந்ததியான சேகேமியரின் குடும்பமும்,

31. of Asriel, the family of the Asrielites; of Shechem, the family of the Shechemites;

32. செமீதாவின் சந்ததியான செமீதாவியரின் குடும்பமும், எப்பேரின் சந்ததியான ஏப்பேரியரின் குடும்பமுமே.

32. of Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites; and of Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.

33. எப்பேரின் குமாரனான செலொப்பியாத்திற்குக் குமாரர் இல்லாமல், குமாரத்திகள் மாத்திரம் இருந்தார்கள்; இவர்கள் நாமங்கள் மக்லாள், நோவாள், ஒக்லாள், மில்காள், திர்சாள் என்பவைகள்.

33. And to Zelophedad the son of Hopher there were no sons, but daughters: and these [were] the names of the daughters of Zelophedad: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcha, and Tirzah.

34. இவைகளே மனாசேயின் குடும்பங்கள்; அவர்களில் எண்ணப்பட்டவர்கள் ஐம்பத்தீராயிரத்து எழுநூறுபேர்.

34. These [are] the families of Mannasseh according to their numbering: fifty-two thousand seven hundred.

35. எப்பிராயீமுடைய குமாரரின் குடும்பங்களாவன: சுத்தெலாகின் சந்ததியான சுத்தெலாகியரின் குடும்பமும், பெகேரின் சந்ததியான பெகேரியரின் குடும்பமும், தாகானின் சந்ததியான தாகானியரின் குடும்பமும்,

35. And these [are] the children of Ephraim: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthalhites; of Tanach, the family of the Tanachites.

36. சுத்தெலாக் பெற்ற ஏரானின் சந்ததியான ஏரானியரின் குடும்பமுமே.

36. These [are] the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites.

37. இவைகளே எப்பீராயீம் புத்திரரின் குடும்பங்கள்; அவர்களில் எண்ணப்பட்டவர்கள் முப்பத்தீராயிரத்து ஐந்நூறுபேர்; இவர்களே யோசேப்பு புத்திரரின் குடும்பங்கள்.

37. These [are] the families of Ephraim according to their numbering: thirty-two thousand five hundred. These [are] the families of the children of Joseph according to their families.

38. பென்யமீனுடைய குமாரரின் குடும்பங்களாவன: பேலாவின் சந்ததியான பேலாவியரின் குடும்பமும், அஸ்பேலின் சந்ததியான அஸ்பேலியரின் குடும்பமும், அகிராமின் சந்ததியான அகிராமியரின் குடும்பமும்,

38. The sons of Benjamin according to their families [were:] of Bela, the family of the Belaites; of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites; of Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites;

39. சுப்பாமின் சந்ததியான சுப்பாமியரின் குடும்பமும், உப்பாமின் சந்ததியான உப்பாமியரின் குடும்பமும்,

39. of Sophan, the family of the Sophanites.

40. பேலா பெற்ற ஆரேதின் சந்ததியான ஆரேதியரின் குடும்பமும், நாகமானின் சந்ததியான நாகமானியரின் குடும்பமுமே.

40. And the sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman; to Adar, the family of the Adarites; and to Naaman, the family of the Naamanites.

41. இவைகளே பென்யமீன் புத்திரரின் குடும்பங்கள்; அவர்களில் எண்ணப்பட்டவர்கள் நாற்பத்தையாயிரத்து அறுநூறுபேர்.

41. These [are] the sons of Benjamin by their families according to their numbering: thirty-five thousand five hundred.

42. தாணுடைய குமாரரின் குடும்பங்களாவன: சூகாமின் சந்ததியான சூகாமியரின் குடும்பமே; இவைகள் தாணின் குடும்பம்.

42. And the sons of Dan according to their families: to Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites; these [are] the families of Dan according to their families.

43. சூகாமியரின் வம்சங்களில் எண்ணப்பட்டவர்கள் எல்லாரும் அறுபத்து நாலாயிரத்து நானூறுபேர்.

43. All the families of Shuhamites according to their numbering [were] sixty-four thousand four hundred.

44. ஆசேருடைய குமாரரின் குடும்பங்களாவன: இம்னாவின் சந்ததியான இம்னாவியரின் குடும்பமும், இஸ்வியின் சந்ததியான இஸ்வியரின் குடும்பமும், பெரீயாவின் சந்ததியான பெரீயாவியரின் குடும்பமும்,

44. The sons of Asher according to their families [were:] to Jimna, the family of the Jimnites; to Jesui, the family of the Jesuites; to Beriah, the family of the Beriites.

45. பெரீயா பெற்ற ஏபேரின் சந்ததியான ஏபேரியரின் குடும்பமும், மல்கியேலின் சந்ததியான மல்கியேலியரின் குடும்பமுமே.

45. To Hober, the family of the Hoberites; to Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.

46. ஆசேருடைய குமாரத்தியின் பேர் சாராள்.

46. And the name of the daughter of Asher [was] Serah.

47. இவைகளே ஆசேர் புத்திரரின் குடும்பங்கள்; அவர்களில் எண்ணப்பட்டவர்கள் ஐம்பத்து மூவாயிரத்து நானூறுபேர்.

47. These [are] the families of Asher according to their numbering; forty-three thousand four hundred.

48. நப்தலியினுடைய குமாரரின் குடும்பங்களாவன: யாத்சியேலின் சந்ததியான யாத்சியேலியரின் குடும்பமும், கூனியின் சந்ததியான கூனியரின் குடும்பமும்,

48. The sons of Naphtali according to their families [were:] to Jahziel, the family of the Jahzielites; to Guni, the family of the Gunites.

49. எத்செரின் சந்ததியான எத்செரியரின் குடும்பமும், சில்லேமின் சந்ததியான சில்லேமியரின் குடும்பமுமே.

49. To Jezer, the family of the Jezerites; to Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.

50. இவைகளே நப்தலியின் குடும்பங்கள்; அவர்களில் எண்ணப்பட்டவர்கள் நாற்பத்தையாயிரத்து நானூறுபேர்.

50. These [are] the families of Naphtali, according to their numbering: forty thousand three hundred.

51. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரில் எண்ணப்பட்டவர்கள் ஆறுலட்சத்தோராயிரத்து எழுநூற்று முப்பது பேராயிருந்தார்கள்.

51. This [is] the numbering of the children of Israel, six hundred and one thousand seven hundred and thirty.

52. கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

52. And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

53. இவர்களுடைய பேர்களின் இலக்கத்திற்குத் தக்கதாய் தேசம் இவர்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரமாகப் பங்கிடப்படவேண்டும்.

53. To these the land shall be divided, so that they may inherit according to the number of the names.

54. அநேகம்பேருக்கு அதிக சுதந்தரமும் கொஞ்சம்பேருக்குக் கொஞ்ச சுதந்தரமும் கொடுப்பாயாக; அவர்களில் எண்ணப்பட்ட இலக்கத்திற்குத் தக்கதாக அவரவர்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரம் கொடுக்கப்படவேண்டும்.

54. To the greater number you shall give the greater inheritance, and to the lesser number you shall give the lesser inheritance: to each one, as they have been numbered, shall their inheritance be given.

55. ஆனாலும் சீட்டுப்போட்டு, தேசத்தைப் பங்கிடவேண்டும்; தங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய கோத்திரங்களுக்குரிய நாமங்களின்படியே சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளக்கடவர்கள்.

55. The land shall be divided to the names by lot, they shall inherit according to the tribes of their families.

56. அநேகம்பேர்களாயினும் கொஞ்சம்பேர்களாயினும் சீட்டு விழுந்தபடியே அவரவர்களுடைய சுதந்தரங்கள் பங்கிடப்படவேண்டும் என்றார்.

56. You shall divide their inheritance by lot between the many and the few.

57. எண்ணப்பட்ட லேவியரின் குடும்பங்களாவன: கெர்சோனின் சந்ததியான கெர்சோனியரின் குடும்பமும், கோகாத்தின் சந்ததியான கோகாத்தியரின் குடும்பமும், மெராரியின் சந்ததியான மெராரியரின் குடும்பமும்;

57. And the sons of Levi according to their families; to Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; to Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; to Merari, the family of the Merarites.

58. லேவியின் மற்றக் குடும்பங்களாகிய லிப்னீயரின் குடும்பமும், எப்ரோனியரின் குடும்பமும், மகலியரின் குடும்பமும், மூசியரின் குடும்பமும், கோராகியரின் குடும்பமுமே. கோகாத் அம்ராமைப் பெற்றான்.

58. These [are] the families of the sons of Levi; the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Korahites, and the family of the Musites; and Kohath begot Amram.

59. அம்ராமுடைய மனைவிக்கு யோகெபேத் என்று பேர்; அவள் எகிப்திலே லேவிக்குப் பிறந்த குமாரத்தி; அவள் அம்ராமுக்கு ஆரோனையும் மோசேயையும் அவர்கள் சகோதரியான மிரியாமையும் பெற்றாள்.

59. And the name of his wife [was] Jochabed, daughter of Levi, who bore these to Levi in Egypt, and she bore to Amram, Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.

60. ஆரோனுக்கு நாதாபும் அபியூவும் எலெயாசாரும் இத்தாமாரும் பிறந்தார்கள்.

60. And to Aaron were born both Nadab and Abiud, and Eleazar, and Ithamar.

61. நாதாபும் அபியூவும் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் அந்நிய அக்கினியைக் கொண்டுவந்தபோது, செத்துப்போனார்கள்.

61. And Nadab and Abiud died when they offered strange fire before the Lord in the Wilderness of Sinai.

62. அவர்களில் ஒரு மாதத்து ஆண்பிள்ளை முதலாக எண்ணப்பட்டவர்கள் இருபத்து மூவாயிரம்பேர்; இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் நடுவே அவர்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரம் கொடுக்கப்படாதபடியினால், அவர்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் இலக்கத்திற்கு உட்படவில்லை.

62. And there were according to their numbering, twenty-three thousand, every male from a month old and upward; for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because they have no inheritance in the midst of the children of Israel.

63. மோசேயும் ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாரும் எரிகோவின் அருகேயிருக்கும் யோர்தானுக்கு இப்பாலே மோவாபின் சமனான வெளிகளில் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரை எண்ணுகிறபோது இருந்தவர்கள் இவர்களே.

63. And this [is] the numbering of Moses and Eleazar the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in Araboth of Moab, at the Jordan by Jericho.

64. முன்பு மோசேயும் ஆசாரியனாகிய ஆரோனும் சீனாய் வனாந்தரத்தில் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரை எண்ணும்போது இருந்தவர்களில் ஒருவரும் இவர்களுக்குள் இல்லை.

64. And among these there was not a man numbered by Moses and Aaron, whom, [even] the children of Israel, they numbered in the Wilderness of Sinai.

65. வனாந்தரத்தில் சாகவே சாவார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் அவர்களைக் குறித்துச்சொல்லியிருந்தார்; எப்புன்னேயின் குமாரனாகிய காலேபும் நூனின் குமாரனாகிய யோசுவாவும் தவிர, வேறொருவரும் அவர்களில் மீதியாயிருக்கவில்லை.

65. For the Lord said to them, They shall surely die in the wilderness; and there was not left even one of them, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
