1. பின்பு, ஜனங்கள் முறையிட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்; அது கர்த்தருடைய செவிகளில் பொல்லாப்பாயிருந்தது; கர்த்தர் அதைக் கேட்டபோது, அவருடைய கோபம் மூண்டது; கர்த்தருடைய அக்கினி அவர்களுக்குள்ளே பற்றியெரிந்து, பாளயத்தின் கடைசியிலிருந்த சிலரைப் பட்சித்தது.

1. And it came to pass that when the people were giving themselves up to murmuring, it was grievous in the ears of Yahweh, so Yahweh hearkened, and kindled was his anger, and the fire of Yahweh burned among them, and consumed the uttermost part of the camp.

2. அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் மோசேயை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டார்கள்; மோசே கர்த்தரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினான்; உடனே அக்கினி அவிந்துபோயிற்று.

2. Then did the people make outcry unto Moses, and Moses prayed unto Yahweh, and the fire sank down.

3. கர்த்தருடைய அக்கினி அவர்களுக்குள்ளே பற்றியெரிந்ததினால், அவ்விடத்துக்குத் தபேரா என்று பேரிட்டான்.

3. So he called the name of that place, Taberah because there burned among them the fire of Yahweh.

4. பின்பு அவர்களுக்குள் இருந்த பல ஜாதியான அந்நிய ஜனங்கள் மிகுந்த இச்சையுள்ளவர்களானார்கள்; இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரும் திரும்ப அழுது, நமக்கு இறைச்சியைப் புசிக்கக்கொடுப்பவர் யார்?

4. Moreover the mixed multitude that was in their midst concealed not their lusting, and so even the sons of Israel, fell away and wept, and said: Who will grant us to eat flesh?

5. நாம் எகிப்திலே கிரயமில்லாமல் சாப்பிட்ட மச்சங்களையும், வெள்ளரிக்காய்களையும், கொம்மட்டிக்காய்களையும், கீரைகளையும், வெண்காயங்களையும், வெள்ளைப்பூண்டுகளையும் நினைக்கிறோம்.

5. We remember the fish that we did eat in Egypt, without money, the cucumbers, and the water-melons, and the leeks and the onions, and the garlick.

6. இப்பொழுது நம்முடைய உள்ளம் வாடிப்போகிறது; இந்த மன்னாவைத் தவிர, நம்முடைய கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக வேறொன்றும் இல்லையே என்று சொன்னார்கள்.

6. But, now, our soul is dried up, there is nothing at all, unless, unto the manna, we turn our eyes.

7. அந்த மன்னா கொத்துமல்லி விதையம்மாத்திரமும், அதின் நிறம் முத்துப்போலவும் இருந்தது.

7. Now, the manna, was like coriander seed, and the appearance thereof like the appearance of bdellium,

8. ஜனங்கள் போய் அதைப் பொறுக்கிக்கொண்டு வந்து, எந்திரங்களில் அரைத்தாவது உரல்களில் இடித்தாவது, பானைகளில் சமைப்பார்கள்; அதை அப்பங்களுமாகச் சுடுவார்கள்; அதின் ருசி புது ஒலிவ எண்ணெயின் ருசிபோலிருந்தது.

8. The people used to go about and pick it up, and grind it with a pair of mill-stones, or pound it in a mortar, and boil it in a pot, and make it into round cakes, then was the taste thereof like the taste of a sweet cake made with oil.

9. இரவிலே பாளயத்தின்மேல் பனிபெய்யும்போது, மன்னாவும் அதின்மேல் விழும்.

9. When the dew came down upon the camp by night, the manna came down thereupon.

10. அந்தந்த வம்சங்களைச் சேர்ந்த ஜனங்கள் தங்கள் தங்கள் கூடாரவாசலில் நின்று அழுகிறதை மோசே கேட்டான்; கர்த்தருக்கு மிகவும் கோபம் மூண்டது; மோசேயின் பார்வைக்கும் அது பொல்லாப்பாயிருந்தது.

10. So then Moses heard the people weeping by their families, every one at the entrance of his tent, then kindled the anger of Yahweh fiercely, and in the eyes of Moses, it was grievous.

11. அப்பொழுது மோசே கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: நீர் இந்த ஜனங்கள் எல்லாருடைய பாரத்தையும் என்மேல் சுமத்தினதினால், உமது அடியானுக்கு உபத்திரவம் வரப்பண்ணினதென்ன? உம்முடைய கண்களில் எனக்குக் கிருபை கிடையாதே போனதென்ன?

11. And Moses said unto Yahweh Wherefore hast thou let thy servant come to grief, and wherefore have I not found favour in thine eyes, that thou shouldest lay the burden of all this people upon me.

12. இவர்களுடைய பிதாக்களுக்கு நான் ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுத்த தேசத்துக்கு நீ இவர்களை முலையுண்கிற பாலகனைத் தகப்பன் சுமந்துகொண்டுபோவதுபோல, உன் மார்பிலே அணைத்துக்கொண்டுபோ என்று நீர் என்னோடே சொல்லும்படி இந்த ஜனங்களையெல்லாம் கர்ப்பந்தரித்தேனோ? இவர்களைப் பெற்றது நானோ?

12. Did, I, conceive all this people, or, I, beget them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father carrieth a suckling, unto the soil which thou didst swear unto their fathers?

13. இந்த ஜனங்கள் எல்லாருக்கும் கொடுக்கிறதற்கு எனக்கு இறைச்சி எங்கேயிருந்து வரும்? எனக்கு இறைச்சி கொடு என்று என்னைப் பார்த்து அழுகிறார்களே.

13. Whence should, I, have flesh to give to all this people, for they keep weeping by me saying, Oh give us flesh that we may eat!

14. இந்த ஜனங்களெல்லாரையும் நான் ஒருவனாய்த் தாங்கக்கூடாது; எனக்கு இது மிஞ்சின பாரமாயிருக்கிறது.

14. Unable, am, I, by myself, to carry all this people, for they are too heavy for me.

15. உம்முடைய கண்களிலே எனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைத்ததானால், இப்படி எனக்குச் செய்யாமல், என் உபத்திரவத்தை நான் காணாதபடிக்கு இப்பொழுதே என்னைக் கொன்றுபோடும் என்று வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்.

15. But if, in this way, thou art going to deal with me, slay me, I beseech thee, slay, if I have found favour in thine eyes, and let me not see my grief,

16. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களுக்கு மூப்பரும் தலைவருமானவர்கள் இன்னார் என்று நீ அறிந்திருக்கிறாயே, அந்த மூப்பரில் எழுபதுபேரைக் கூட்டி, அவர்களை ஆசரிப்புக்கூடாரத்தினிடத்தில் அங்கே உன்னோடேகூட வந்து நிற்கும்படிசெய்.

16. Then said Yahweh unto Moses Gather thou unto me seventy men, from among the elders of Israel, of whom thou knowest that they are elders of the people and their overseers, then shalt thou take them unto the tent of meeting, and they shall station themselves there with thee.

17. அப்பொழுது நான் இறங்கிவந்து, அங்கே உன்னோடே பேசி, நீ ஒருவன் மாத்திரம் ஜனங்களின் பாரத்தைச் சுமக்காமல், உன்னோடேகூட அவர்களும் அதைச் சுமப்பதற்காக உன்மேல் இருக்கிற ஆவியை அவர்கள்மேலும் வைப்பேன்.

17. Then will I come down, and speak with thee there, and will take of the spirit that is upon thee and put upon them, and they shall carry, with thee, the burden of the people, and, thou, shalt not carry it by thyself.

18. நீ ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: நாளைக்காக உங்களைப் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணுங்கள்; நீங்கள் இறைச்சி சாப்பிடுவீர்கள்; எங்களுக்கு இறைச்சி சாப்பிடக் கொடுப்பவர் யார் என்றும், எகிப்திலே எங்களுக்குச் சௌக்கியமாயிருந்தது என்றும், கர்த்தருடைய செவிகள் கேட்க அழுதீர்களே; ஆகையால், நீங்கள் சாப்பிடும்படி கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்கு இறைச்சி கொடுப்பார்.

18. And, unto the people, shalt thou say: Hallow yourselves by to-morrow, and ye shall eat flesh, for ye have wept in the ears of Yahweh saying Who will grant us to eat flesh? for it was well with us in Egypt, so then Yahweh will give you flesh and ye shall eat.

19. நீங்கள் ஒருநாள், இரண்டுநாள், ஐந்துநாள், பத்துநாள், இருபதுநாள் மாத்திரமல்ல,

19. Not one day, shall ye eat nor two days, nor five days nor ten days, nor twenty days:

20. ஒரு மாதம்வரைக்கும் புசிப்பீர்கள்; அது உங்கள் மூக்காலே புறப்பட்டு, உங்களுக்குத் தெவிட்டிப்போகுமட்டும் புசிப்பீர்கள்; உங்களுக்குள்ளே இருக்கிற கர்த்தரை அசட்டைபண்ணி, நாங்கள் ஏன் எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டோம் என்று அவருக்கு முன்பாக அழுதீர்களே என்று சொல் என்றார்.

20. for a month of days until it cometh forth out of your nostrils, so shall it become to you a loathsome thing, because ye have refused Yahweh who is in your midst, and have wept before him, saying, Wherefore now came we forth out of Egypt?

21. அதற்கு மோசே: என்னோடிருக்கிற காலாட்கள் ஆறுலட்சம்பேர்; ஒரு மாதம் முழுவதும் புசிக்கும்படி அவர்களுக்கு இறைச்சி கொடுப்பேன் என்று சொன்னீரே.

21. And Moses said, Six hundred thousand footmen, are the people in whose midst am, I, yet thou hast said Flesh, will I give unto them, a and they shall eat for a month of days.

22. ஆடுமாடுகளை அவர்களுக்காக அடித்தாலும் அவர்களுக்குப் போதுமா? சமுத்திரத்து மச்சங்களையெல்லாம் அவர்களுக்காகச் சேர்த்தாலும் அவர்களுக்குப் போதுமா என்றான்.

22. Shall the flocks and herds, be slaughtered for them, that it may suffice for them? Shall all the fishes of the sea, be gathered together unto them that it may suffice for them?

23. அதற்குக் கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: கர்த்தருடைய கை குறுகியிருக்கிறதோ? என் வார்த்தையின்படி நடக்குமோ நடவாதோ என்று. நீ இப்பொழுது காண்பாய் என்றார்.

23. Then said Yahweh unto Moses, Shall the hand of Yahweh, fail? Now, shalt thou see whether my word come to pass unto thee or not.

24. அப்பொழுது மோசே புறப்பட்டு, கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தைகளை ஜனங்களுக்குச் சொல்லி, ஜனங்களின் மூப்பரில் எழுபதுபேரைக் கூட்டி, கூடாரத்தைச் சுற்றிலும் அவர்களை நிறுத்தினான்.

24. And Moses went forth and spake unto the people the words of Yahweh, and gathered together seventy men from among the elders of the people, and caused them to stand round about the tent.

25. கர்த்தர் மேகத்தில் இறங்கி, அவனோடே பேசி, அவன் மேலிருந்த ஆவியை மூப்பராகிய அந்த எழுபது பேர்மேலும் வைத்தார்; அந்த ஆவி அவர்கள்மேல் வந்து தங்கினமாத்திரத்தில் தீர்க்கதரிசனஞ் சொன்னார்கள்; சொல்லி, பின்பு ஓய்ந்தார்கள்.

25. Then Yahweh came down, in the cloud, and spake unto him, and took e of the spirit that was upon him, and gave unto the seventy men the elders. And it came to pass that when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and then did so no more.

26. அப்பொழுது இரண்டு பேர் பாளயத்தில் இருந்துவிட்டார்கள்; ஒருவன் பேர் எல்தாத், மற்றவன் பேர் மேதாத்; அவர்களும் பேர்வழியில் எழுதப்பட்டிருந்தும், கூடாரத்துக்குப் போகப் புறப்படாதிருந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள்மேலும் ஆவி வந்து தங்கினதினால், பாளயத்தில் தீர்க்கதரிசனஞ் சொன்னார்கள்.

26. Now there were two men left behind in the camp the name of the one, was Eldad and the name of the other, Medad, so then the spirit, rested on them they, being among them who were written, though they hint not gone forth unto the tent, but they prophesied in the camp.

27. ஒரு பிள்ளையாண்டான் ஓடிவந்து, எல்தாதும், மேதாதும் பாளயத்தில் தீர்க்கதரிசனஞ் சொல்லுகிறார்கள் என்று மோசேக்கு அறிவித்தான்.

27. And there ran a young man, and told Moses and said, Eldad and Medad, are prophesying in the camp!

28. உடனே மோசேயினிடத்திலுள்ள வாலிபரில் ஒருவனும் அவனுடைய ஊழியக்காரனும் நூனின் குமாரனுமாகிய யோசுவா பிரதியுத்தரமாக: என் ஆண்டவனாகிய மோசேயே, அவர்களைத் தடைபண்ணும் என்றான்.

28. Then responded Joshua son of Nun the attendant of Moses from his youth, and said, My lord Moses forbid them!

29. அதற்கு மோசே: நீ எனக்காக வைராக்கியம் காண்பிக்கிறாயோ? கர்த்தருடைய ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் தீர்க்கதரிசனஞ் சொல்லத்தக்கதாக, கர்த்தர் தம்முடைய ஆவியை அவர்கள்மேல் இறங்கப்பண்ணினால் நலமாயிருக்குமே என்றான்.
1 கொரிந்தியர் 14:5

29. But Moses said unto him, Art, thou, jealous for, me? Oh would that, all the people of Yahweh, were prophets! Yea let Yahweh put his spirit upon them!

30. பின்பு, மோசேயும் இஸ்ரவேலின் மூப்பரும் பாளயத்திலே வந்து சேர்ந்தார்கள்.

30. Then was Moses received back into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.

31. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தரிடத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்ட ஒரு காற்று சமுத்திரத்திலிருந்து காடைகளை அடித்துக்கொண்டுவந்து, பாளயத்திலும் பாளயத்தைச் சுற்றிலும், இந்தப்பக்கம் ஒரு நாள் பிரயாணமட்டும், அந்தப்பக்கம் ஒரு நாள் பிராயணமட்டும், தரையின்மேல் இரண்டு முழ உயரம் விழுந்துகிடக்கச் செய்தது.

31. Now, a wind, had sprung up, from Yahweh, and cut off quails from the sea, and let them lie over the camp as it were a days journey here and a days journey there, round about the amp, and as it were two cubits on the face of the land.

32. அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் எழும்பி, அன்று பகல்முழுவதும், இராமுழுவதும், மறுநாள் முழுவதும் காடைகளைச் சேர்த்தார்கள்; கொஞ்சமாய்ச் சேர்த்தவன் பத்து ஓமர் அளவு சேர்த்தான்; அவைகளைப் பாளயத்தைச் சுற்றிலும் தங்களுக்காகக் குவித்து வைத்தார்கள்.

32. And the people rose up all that day and all the night and all the next day, and gathered the quails, he that did least, gathered ten homers, and they spread them out for themselves spreading away, round about the camp.

33. தங்கள் பற்கள் நடுவே இருக்கும் இறைச்சியை அவர்கள் மென்று தின்னுமுன்னே கர்த்தருடைய கோபம் ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே மூண்டது; கர்த்தர் ஜனங்களை மகா பெரிய வாதையால் வாதித்தார்.

33. The flesh, was yet between their teeth, not yet chewed, when the anger of Yahweh, had kindled upon the people, and Yahweh smote the people, with an exceeding great plague.

34. இச்சித்த ஜனங்களை அங்கே அடக்கம்பண்ணினதினால், அந்த ஸ்தலத்துக்குக் கிப்ரோத் அத்தாவா என்று பேரிட்டான்.
1 கொரிந்தியர் 10:6

34. And the name of that place was called Kibroth-hattaavah because there, they buried the people who had lusted,

35. பின்பு, ஜனங்கள் கிப்ரோத் அத்தாவா என்னும் இடத்தை விட்டு, ஆஸ்ரோத்துக்குப் பிரயாணம்பண்ணி, ஆஸ்ரோத்திலே தங்கினார்கள்.

35. From Kibroth-hattaavah, the people set forward to Hazeroth, and they remained in Hazeroth.
