1. கர்த்தருக்காகப் பொறுமையுடன் காத்திருந்தேன்; அவர் என்னிடமாய்ச் சாய்ந்து, என் கூப்பிடுதலைக் கேட்டார்.

1. For the end, A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the Lord; and He attended to me, and hearkened to my supplication.

2. And He brought me up out of a pit of misery, and from miry clay; and He set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps.

3. And He put a new song into my mouth, [even] a hymn to our God; many shall see [it] and fear, and shall hope in the Lord.

4. அகங்காரிகளையும் பொய்யைச் சார்ந்திருக்கிறவர்களையும் நோக்காமல், கர்த்தரையே தன் நம்பிக்கையாக வைக்கிற மனுஷன் பாக்கியவான்.

4. Blessed [is] the man whose hope is in the name of the Lord, and [who] has not regarded vanities, nor turned aside to lies.

5. என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, நீர் எங்கள் நிமித்தஞ்செய்த உம்முடைய அதிசயங்களும் உம்முடைய யோசனைகளும் அநேகமாயிருக்கிறது; ஒருவரும் அவைகளை உமக்கு விவரித்துச் சொல்லி முடியாது. நான் அவைகளைச் சொல்லி அறிவிக்கவேண்டுமானால் அவைகள் எண்ணிக்கைக்கு மேலானவைகள்.

5. O Lord my God, You have multiplied Your wonderful works, and in Your thoughts there is none who shall be likened to You; I declared and spoke [of them]; they exceeded in number.

6. Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; but a body You have prepared for me; whole burnt offering and [sacrifice] for sin You did not require.

7. அப்பொழுது நான்: இதோ, வருகிறேன், புஸ்தகச்சுருளில் என்னைக் குறித்து எழுதியிருக்கிறது;

7. Then I said, Behold, I have come; in the volume of the book it is written of me,

8. என் தேவனே, உமக்குப் பிரியமானதைச் செய்ய விரும்புகிறேன்; உமது நியாயப்பிரமாணம் என் உள்ளத்திற்குள் இருக்கிறது என்று சொன்னேன்.

8. I desired to do Your will, O my God, and Your law in the midst of my heart.

9. மகா சபையிலே நீதியைப் பிரசங்கித்தேன்; என் உதடுகளை மூடேன், கர்த்தாவே, நீர் அதை அறிவீர்.

9. I have preached righteousness in the great congregation; lo! I will not refrain my lips; O Lord, You know my righteousness.

10. உம்முடைய நீதியை நான் என் இருதயத்திற்குள் மறைத்து வைக்கவில்லை; உமது சத்தியத்தையும் உமது இரட்சிப்பையும் சொல்லியிருக்கிறேன்; உமது கிருபையையும் உமது உண்மையையும் மகா சபைக்கு அறிவியாதபடிக்கு நான் ஒளித்துவைக்கவில்லை.

10. I have not hid Your truth within my heart, and I have declared Your salvation; I have not hid Your mercy and Your truth from the great congregation.

11. கர்த்தாவே நீர் உம்முடைய இரக்கங்களை எனக்குக் கிடையாமற்போகப்பண்ணாதேயும்; உமது கிருபையும் உமது உண்மையும் எப்பொழுதும் என்னைக் காக்கக்கடவது.

11. But You, O Lord, remove not Your compassion far from me; Your mercy and Your truth have helped me continually.

12. எண்ணிக்கைக்கு அடங்காத தீமைகள் என்னைச் சூழ்ந்துகொண்டது, என் அக்கிரமங்கள் என்னைத் தொடர்ந்து பிடித்தது, நான் நிமிர்ந்து பார்க்கக்கூடாதிருக்கிறது, அவைகள் என் தலைமயிரிலும் அதிகமாயிருக்கிறது, என் இருதயம் சோர்ந்துபோகிறது.

12. For innumerable evils have encompassed me; my transgressions have taken hold of me, and I could not see; they are multiplied more than the hairs of my head; and my heart has failed me.

13. கர்த்தாவே, என்னை விடுவித்தருளும்; கர்த்தாவே, எனக்குச் சகாயம்பண்ணத் தீவிரியும்.

13. Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me; O Lord, draw near to help me.

14. என் பிராணனை அழிக்கத் தேடுகிறவர்கள் ஏகமாய் வெட்கி நாணி, எனக்குத் தீங்குசெய்ய விரும்புகிறவர்கள் பின்னிட்டு இலச்சையடைவார்களாக.

14. Let those that seek my soul, to destroy it, be ashamed and confounded together; let those that wish me evil be turned backward and put to shame.

15. என்பேரில் ஆ ஆ! ஆ ஆ! என்று சொல்லுகிறவர்கள், தங்கள் வெட்கத்தின் பலனையடைந்து கைவிடப்படுவார்களாக.

15. Let those that say to me, Aha, aha, quickly receive shame for their reward.

16. உம்மைத் தேடுகிற அனைவரும் உமக்குள் மகிழ்ந்து சந்தோஷப்படுவார்களாக; உம்முடைய இரட்சிப்பை விரும்புகிறவர்கள் கர்த்தருக்கு மகிமை உண்டாவதாக என்று எப்பொழுதும் சொல்வார்களாக.

16. Let all those that seek You, O Lord, exalt and rejoice in You; and let them that love Your salvation say continually, The Lord be magnified!

17. நான்சிறுமையும் எளிமையுமானவன், கர்த்தரோ என்மேல் நினைவாயிருக்கிறார்; தேவரீர் என் துணையும் என்னை விடுவிக்கிறவருமாயிருக்கிறீர்; என் தேவனே, தாமதியாதேயும்.

17. But I am poor and needy; the Lord will take care of me; You are my helper, and my defender, O my God; do not delay.
