1. பின்னும் கர்த்தர் யோபுக்கு உத்தரமாக:

1. Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,

2. சர்வவல்லவரோடே வழக்காடி அவருக்குப் புத்தி படிப்பிக்கிறவன் யார்? தேவன் பேரில் குற்றம் பிடிக்கிறவன் இவைகளுக்கு உத்தரவு சொல்லக்கடவன் என்றார்.

2. Shall he that cavilleth contend with the Almighty? he that argueth with God, let him answer it.

3. அப்பொழுது யோபு கர்த்தருக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக:

3. Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

4. இதோ, நான் நீசன்; நான் உமக்கு என்ன மறுஉத்தரவு சொல்லுவேன்; என் கையினால் என் வாயைப் பொத்திக்கொள்ளுகிறேன்.

4. Behold, I am of small account; what shall I answer thee? I lay mine hand upon my mouth.

5. நான் இரண்டொருதரம் பேசினேன்; இனி நான் பிரதியுத்தரம் கொடாமலும் பேசாமலும் இருப்பேன் என்றான்.

5. Once have I spoken, and I will not answer; yea twice, but I will proceed no further.

6. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் பெருங்காற்றில் இருந்து யோபுக்கு உத்தரவு அருளினார்.

6. Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

7. இப்போதும் புருஷனைப்போல நீ அரைகட்டிக்கொள்; நான் உன்னைக் கேட்பேன்; நீ எனக்கு உத்தரவு சொல்லு.

7. Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

8. நீ என் நியாயத்தை அவமாக்குவாயோ? நீ உன்னை நீதிமானாக்கிக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கு என்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்துவாயோ?

8. Wilt thou even disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be justified?

9. தேவனுடைய புயத்தைப்போல் உனக்குப் புயமுண்டோ? அவரைப்போல் இடிமுழக்கமாய்ச் சத்தமிடக்கூடுமோ?

9. Or hast thou an arm like God? and canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

10. இப்போதும் நீ முக்கியத்தாலும் மகத்துவத்தாலும் உன்னை அலங்கரித்து, மகிமையையும் கனத்தையும் தரித்துக்கொண்டு,

10. Deck thyself now with excellency and dignity; and array thyself with honour and majesty.

11. நீ உன் கோபத்தின் உக்கிரத்தை வீசி, அகந்தையுள்ளவனையெல்லாம் தேடிப்பார்த்து தாழ்த்திவிட்டு,

11. Pour forth the overflowings of thine anger: and look upon every one that is proud, and abase him.

12. பெருமையுள்ளவனையெல்லாம் கவனித்து, அவனைப் பணியப்பண்ணி, துன்மார்க்கரை அவர்களிருக்கிற ஸ்தலத்திலே மிதித்துவிடு.

12. Look on every one that is proud, {cf15i and} bring him low; and tread down the wicked where they stand.

13. நீ அவர்களை ஏகமாய்ப் புழுதியிலே புதைத்து, அவர்கள் முகங்களை அந்தரங்கத்திலே கட்டிப்போடு.

13. Hide them in the dust together; bind their faces in the hidden {cf15i place}.

14. அப்பொழுது உன் வலதுகை உனக்கு இரட்சிப்பு உண்டுபண்ணும் என்று சொல்லி நான் உன்னைப் புகழுவேன்.

14. Then wilt I also confess of thee that thine own right hand can save thee.

15. இப்போதும் பிகெமோத்தை நீ கவனித்துப்பார்; உன்னை உண்டாக்கினதுபோல அதையும் உண்டாக்கினேன்; அது மாட்டைப்போல் புல்லைத்தின்னும்.

15. Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as all ox.

16. இதோ, அதினுடைய பெலன் அதின் இடுப்பிலும், அதின் வீரியம் அதின் வயிற்றின் நரம்புகளிலும் இருக்கிறது.

16. Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the muscles of his belly.

17. அது தன் வாலைக் கேதுருமரத்தைப்போல் நீட்டுகிறது; அதின் இடுப்பு நரம்புகள் பின்னிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது.

17. He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his thighs are knit together.

18. அதின் எலும்புகள் கெட்டியான வெண்கலத்தைப்போலவும், அதின் அஸ்திகள் இருப்புக் கம்பிகளைப்போலவும் இருக்கிறது.

18. His bones are as tubes of brass; his limbs are like bars of iron.

19. அது தேவனுடைய கிரியைகளில் பிரதானமான ஒரு கிரியை, அதை உண்டாக்கினவர் அதற்கு ஒரு பட்டயத்தையும் கொடுத்தார்.

19. He is the chief of the ways of God: he {cf15i only} that made him can make his sword to approach {cf15i unto him}.

20. காட்டுமிருகங்கள் யாவும் விளையாடுகிற மலைகள் அதற்கு மேய்ச்சலை விளைவிக்கும்.

20. Surely the mountains bring him forth food; where all the beasts of the field do play.

21. அது நிழலுள்ள செடிகளின் கீழும், நாணலின் மறைவிலும், உளையிலும் படுத்துக்கொள்ளும்.

21. He lieth under the lotus trees, in the covert of the reed, and the fen.

22. தழைகளின் நிழல் அதைக்கவிந்து, நதியின் அலரிகள் அதைச் சூழ்ந்துகொள்ளும்.

22. The lotus trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.

23. இதோ, நதி புரண்டு வந்தாலும் அது பயந்தோடாது; யோர்தான் நதியத்தனை தண்ணீர் அதின் முகத்தில் மோதினாலும் அது அசையாமலிருக்கும்.

23. Behold, if a river overflow, he trembleth not: he is confident, though Jordan swell even to his mouth.

24. அதின் கண்கள் பார்த்திருக்க அதை யார் பிடிக்கக்கூடும்? மூக்கணாங்கயிறுபோட அதின் மூக்கை யார் குத்தக்கூடும்?

24. Shall any take him when he is on the watch, or pierce through his nose with a snare?
