1. சர்வவல்லவருக்குக் காலங்கள் மறைக்கப்படாதிருக்க, அவரை அறிந்தவர்கள் அவர் நியமித்த நாட்களை அறியாதிருக்கிறதென்ன?

1. Considering then that there is no time hyd from the almightie, how happeneth it that they which know him do not regarde his dayes?

2. சிலர் எல்லைக்குறிப்புகளை ஒற்றி, மந்தைகளைப் பலாத்காரமாய்ச் சாய்த்துக்கொண்டுபோய் பட்சிக்கிறார்கள்.

2. For some men remoue the landemarkes, robbe men of their cattell, and feede of the same:

3. தாய் தகப்பன் இல்லாதவர்களின் கழுதையை ஓட்டிக்கொண்டுபோய், விதவையின் மாட்டை ஈடாக எடுத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறார்கள்.

3. They driue away the asse of the fatherlesse, and take the wydowes oxe for a pledge:

4. தேசத்தில் சிறுமைப்பட்டவர்கள் ஏகமாய் ஒளித்துக்கொள்ளத்தக்கதாக, எளிமையானவர்களை வழியை விட்டு விலக்குகிறார்கள்.

4. They cause the poore to turne out of the way, so that the poore of the earth hyde them selues together.

5. இதோ, அவர்கள் காட்டுக்கழுதைகளைப்போல இரைதேட அதிகாலமே தங்கள் வேலைக்குப் புறப்படுகிறார்கள்; வனாந்தரவெளிதான் அவர்களுக்கும் அவர்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் ஆகாரம் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.

5. Beholde, as wilde asses in the desert go they foorth to their worke, & ryse betimes to spoyle: Yea the very wildernesse ministreth foode for them & their children.

6. துன்மார்க்கருடைய வயலில் அவர்கள் அவனுக்காக அறுப்பு அறுத்து, அவனுடைய திராட்சத்தோட்டத்தின் பழங்களைச் சேர்க்கிறார்கள்.

6. They reape the corne fielde that is not their owne, and let the vineyarde of the vngodly alone.

7. குளிரிலே போர்த்துக்கொள்ளுகிறதற்கு ஒன்றும் இல்லாததினால், வஸ்திரமில்லாமல் இராத்தங்கி,

7. They cause the naked to lodge without garment, and without couering in the colde.

8. மலைகளிலிருந்துவரும் மழைகளிலே நனைந்து, ஒதுக்கிடமில்லாததினால் கன்மலையிலே அண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறார்கள்.

8. They are wet with the showres of the mountaynes, and embrace the rocke for want of a couering.

9. அவர்களோ தகப்பனில்லாத பிள்ளையை முலையைவிட்டுப்பறித்து, தரித்திரன் போர்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறதை அடகுவாங்குகிறார்கள்.

9. They plucke the fatherlesse from the brest, and take the pledge from the poore.

10. அவனை வஸ்திரமில்லாமல் நடக்கவும், பட்டினியாய் அரிக்கட்டுகளைச் சுமக்கவும்,

10. They let hym go naked without clothing, and haue taken away the sheafe of the hungrie.

11. தங்கள் மதில்களுக்குள்ளே செக்காட்டவும், தாகத்தவனமாய் ஆலையாட்டவும்பண்ணுகிறார்கள்.

11. The poore are fayne to labour in their oyle mylles, yea and to treade in their wyne presses, and yet to suffer thirst.

12. ஊரில் மனுஷர் தவிக்கிறார்கள், குற்றுயிராய்க்கிடக்கிறவர்களின் ஆத்துமா கூப்பிடுகிறது; என்றாலும், தேவன் அதைக் குற்றமாக அவர்கள்மேல் சுமத்துகிறதில்லை.

12. Men out of the citie crye vnto the Lord with sighing, the soules of the slayne also crye out, yet God regardeth not their complaynt.

13. அவர்கள் வெளிச்சத்துக்கு விரோதமாய் நடக்கிறவர்களின் கூட்டத்தார்; அவர்கள் அவருடைய வழிகளை அறியாமலும், அவருடைய பாதைகளில் தரிக்காமலும் இருக்கிறார்கள்.

13. Where as they are conuersaunt among them that abhorre the light, they know not his way, nor continue in his pathes.

14. கொலைபாதகன் பொழுது விடிகிறபோது எழுந்து, சிறுமையும் எளிமையுமானவனைக் கொன்று, இராக்காலத்திலே திருடனைப்போல் திரிகிறான்.

14. The murtherer ryseth early and killeth the poore and needy, and in the night is as a thiefe?

15. விபசாரனுடைய கண் மாலை மயங்குகிற வேளைக்குக் காத்திருந்து: என்னை ஒரு கண்ணும் காணமாட்டாதென்று முகத்தை மூடிக்கொள்ளுகிறான்.

15. The eye of the adulterer wayteth for the darkenesse, & sayth, There shall no eye see me: and disguiseth his face.

16. அவர்கள் பகலில் அடையாளம் பார்த்த வீடுகளை இருட்டிலே கன்னமிடுகிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் வெளிச்சத்தை அறியார்கள்.

16. In the darke they digge through houses, whiche they marked for them selues in the day time: they knowe not the light.

17. விடியுங்காலமும் அவர்களுக்கு மரண இருள்போல் இருக்கிறது; அப்படிப்பட்டவன் மரண இருளின் பயங்கரத்தோடு பழகியிருக்கிறான்.

17. The morning is to them euen as the shadow of death: if one know them, they are in the terrours of the shadowe of death,

18. நீரோட்டத்தைப்போல் தீவிரமாய்ப் போவான்; தேசத்தில் அவன் பங்கு சபிக்கப்பட்டுப் போகிறதினால், அவன் திராட்சத்தோட்டங்களின் வழியை இனிக்காண்பதில்லை.

18. [The vngodly] is swyft vpon the water: their portion shalbe cursed in the earth, and he shall not beholde the way of the vineyardes.

19. வறட்சியும் உஷ்ணமும் உறைந்த மழையைப் பட்சிக்கும்; அப்படியே பாதாளமானது பாவிகளைப் பட்சிக்கும்.

19. As the drye grounde and heate consume the snowye waters: so shall the graue the sinners.

20. அவனைப் பெற்ற கர்ப்பம் அவனை மறக்கும்; புழு திருப்திகரமாய் அவனைத் தின்னும்; அவன் அப்புறம் நினைக்கப்படுவதில்லை; அக்கிரமமானது பட்டமரத்தைப்போல முறிந்துவிழும்.

20. The pitifull man shall forget hym, he shalbe sweete to the wormes, he shalbe no more remembred, & his wickednesse shalbe broken as a tree.

21. பிள்ளைபெறாத மலடியின் ஆஸ்தியைப் பட்சித்துவிட்டு, விதவைக்கு நன்மை செய்யாதேபோகிறான்.

21. He hath oppressed the barren that can not beare, and vnto the wydow hath he done no good.

22. தன் பலத்தினாலே வல்லவர்களைத் தன் பாரிசமாக்குகிறான்; அவன் எழும்புகிறபோது ஒருவனுக்கும் பிராணனைப்பற்றி நிச்சயமில்லை.

22. He drue the mightie after hym with his power, and when he was gotten vp no man was sure of lyfe.

23. தேவன் அவனுக்குச் சுகவாழ்வைக் கட்டளையிட்டால், அதின்மேல் உறுதியாய் நம்பிக்கை வைக்கிறான்; ஆனாலும் அவருடைய கண்கள் அப்படிப்பட்டவர்களின் வழிகளுக்கு விரோதமாயிருக்கிறது.

23. And though they gaue him to be in safetie, yet his eyes are vpon their wayes.

24. அவர்கள் கொஞ்சக்காலம் உயர்ந்திருந்து, காணாமற்போய், தாழ்த்தப்பட்டு, மற்ற எல்லாரைப்போலும் அடக்கப்படுகிறார்கள்; கதிர்களின் நுனியைப்போல அறுக்கப்படுகிறார்கள்.

24. They are exalted for a litle, but [shortly] are gone, brought to pouertie, and taken out of the way, yea and vtterly pluckt of, as the eares of corne.

25. அப்படியில்லையென்று என்னைப் பொய்யனாக்கி, என் வார்த்தைகளை வியர்த்தமாக்கத்தக்கவன் யார் என்றான்.

25. Is it not so? Who will then reproue me as a lyer, and say that my wordes are nothing worth? Bildad proueth that no man is cleane nor without sinne before God.
