1. சேபாவின் ராஜஸ்திரீ சாலொமோனின் கீர்த்தியைக் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, விடுகதைகளினாலே சாலொமோனைச் சோதிக்கிறதற்காக, மிகுந்த பரிவாரத்தோடும், கந்தவர்க்கங்களையும், மிகுதியான பொன்னையும் இரத்தினங்களையும் சுமக்கிற ஒட்டகங்களோடும் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தாள்; அவள் சாலொமோனிடத்தில் வந்தபோது, தன் மனதிலிருந்த எல்லாவற்றையும் குறித்து அவனிடத்தில் சம்பாஷித்தாள்.

1. The queen of Sheba heard how well Solomon was known in all the lands. So she came to Jerusalem to test him with hard questions. She came with many servants and camels carrying spices and much gold and stones of much worth. When she came to Solomon, she talked with him about all that was on her heart.

2. அப்பொழுது சாலொமோன் அவள் கேட்டவைகளையெல்லாம் விடுவித்தான்; அவளுக்கு விடுவிக்காதபடிக்கு ஒன்றாகிலும் சாலொமோனுக்கு மறைபொருளாயிருக்கவில்லை.

2. And Solomon answered all her questions. There was nothing hidden from him which he could not make clear to her.

3. சேபாவின் ராஜஸ்திரீ சாலொமோனுடைய பானபாத்திரக்காரரையும், அவர் அரமனையையும்,

3. Then the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon and the house he had built.

4. அவன் பந்தியின் போஜனபதார்த்தங்களையும், அவன் ஊழியக்காரரின் வீடுகளையும், அவன் உத்தியோகஸ்தரின் வரிசையையும், அவர்கள் வஸ்திரங்களையும், அவனுடைய பானபாத்திரக்காரரையும், அவர்கள் வஸ்திரங்களையும், கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்துக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கும் நடைமண்டபத்தையும் கண்டபோது அவள் ஆச்சரியத்தால் பிரமைகொண்டு,

4. She saw the food at his table, and all his captains sitting there. She saw all those who were bringing in the food, and how they were dressed. She saw those who carried the cups, and their clothing. And she saw the burnt gifts that Solomon gave at the house of the Lord. After that, there was no more spirit in her.

5. ராஜாவை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய வர்த்தமானங்களையும் உம்முடைய ஞானத்தையும் குறித்து, நான் என் தேசத்திலே கேட்ட செய்தி மெய்யாயிற்று.

5. She said to the king, 'The news was true which I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom.

6. நான் வந்து அதை என் கண்களால் காணுமட்டும் அவர்கள் வார்த்தைகளை நம்பவில்லை; உம்முடைய பெரிய ஞானத்தில் பாதியாகிலும் அவர்கள் எனக்கு அறிவிக்கவில்லை; நான் கேள்விப்பட்ட பிரஸ்தாபத்தைப்பார்க்கிலும் அதிகம் உண்டாயிருக்கிறது.

6. But I did not believe the news until I came and saw it with my own eyes. See, half the greatness of your wisdom was not told to me. You are greater than what I had heard.

7. உம்முடைய ஜனங்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள்; எப்போதும் உமக்கு முன்பாக நின்று, உம்முடைய ஞானத்தைக் கேட்கிற உம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரரும் பாக்கியவான்கள்.

7. Happy are your men! Happy are your servants who stand in front of you all the time hearing your wisdom!

8. உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக நீர் ராஜாவாயிருக்கும்படிக்கு, உம்மைத் தம்முடைய சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் வீற்றிருக்கப்பண்ண, உம்மேல் பிரியங்கொண்ட உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் ஸ்தோத்திரிக்கப்படுவாராக; உம்முடைய தேவன் இஸ்ரவேலை என்றென்றைக்கும் நிலைநிறுத்தும்படிக்குச் சிநேகிக்கிறதினாலே, அவர் நியாயமும் நீதியும் செய்கிறதற்கு உம்மை அவர்கள்மேல் ராஜாவாக வைத்தார் என்றாள்.

8. Praise be to the Lord your God Who was pleased with you! He set you on His throne as king for the Lord your God. Your God loved Israel and would have them last forever. So He made you king over them to do what is fair and right and good.'

9. அவள் ராஜாவுக்கு நூற்றிருபது தாலந்து பொன்னையும், மிகுதியான கந்தவர்க்கங்களையும், இரத்தினங்களையும் கொடுத்தாள்; சேபாவின் ராஜஸ்திரீ ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோனுக்குக் கொடுத்த அப்படிப்பட்ட கந்தவர்க்கங்களைப்போல ஒருக்காலும் வரவில்லை.

9. Then she gave the king gold weighing as much as 120 men, a very large amount of spices, and stones of much worth. There had never been spices like what the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.

10. ஓப்பீரிலிருந்து பொன்னைக் கொண்டுவருகிற ஈராமின் வேலைக்காரரும் சாலொமோனின் வேலைக்காரரும் வாசனை மரங்களையும் இரத்தினங்களையும் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.

10. Huram's servants and Solomon's servants brought gold from Ophir. They also brought algum trees and stones of much worth.

11. அந்த வாசனைமரங்களால் ராஜா கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்துக்கும் ராஜ அரமனைக்கும் ஊன்றுகால்களையும், சங்கீதக்காரருக்குச் சுரமண்டலங்களையும் தம்புருகளையும் உண்டாக்கினான்; அப்படிப்பட்டவைகள் அதற்கு முன்னே யூதேயா தேசத்தில் ஒருக்காலும் காணப்படவில்லை.

11. The king used the algum wood to make steps for the house of the Lord and for the king's house. And he used it to make different kinds of harps for the singers. There were none seen like them before in the land of Judah.

12. சேபாவின் ராஜஸ்திரீ ராஜாவுக்குக் கொண்டுவந்தவைகளைப்பார்க்கிலும் அதிகமாய் அவள் ஆசைப்பட்டுக் கேட்ட எல்லாவற்றையும் ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் அவளுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்; பின்பு அவள் தன் பரிவாரத்தோடுங்கூட தன் தேசத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப்போனாள்.

12. King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all she asked for, much more than she had brought to him. Then she returned to her own land with her servants.

13. வியாபாரிகளும் வர்த்தகரும் கொண்டுவரும் பொன்னைத்தவிர, சாலொமோனுக்கு ஒவ்வொரு வருஷத்திலும் வந்த பொன் அறுநூற்று அறுபத்தாறு தாலந்து நிறையாயிருந்தது.

13. The gold that came to Solomon in one year weighed as much as 666 men.

14. அரபிதேசத்துச் சகல ராஜாக்களும் மாகாணங்களின் அதிபதிகளும் சாலொமோனுக்குப் பொன்னையும் வெள்ளியையும் கொண்டுவருவார்கள்.

14. Traders and men who buy and sell brought gold also. And all the kings of Arabia and the leaders of the land brought gold and silver to Solomon.

15. ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் இருநூறு பரிசைகளை அடித்த பொன்தகட்டால் செய்வித்தான்; ஒவ்வொரு பரிசைக்கு அறுநூறு சேக்கல் நிறை பொன் தகட்டைச் செலவழித்தான்.

15. King Solomon made 200 battle-coverings of beaten gold. The beaten gold he used to make each large covering was as much as 600 gold pieces.

16. அடித்த பொன்தகட்டால் முந்நூறு கேடகங்களையும் உண்டாக்கினான்; ஒவ்வொரு கேடகத்திற்கு முந்நூறு சேக்கல் நிறை பொன்னைச் செலவழித்தான்; அவைகளை ராஜா லீபனோன் வனம் என்னும் மாளிகையிலே வைத்தான்.

16. And he made 300 battle-coverings of beaten gold, using as much as 300 gold pieces worth of gold for each covering. The king put them in the House of the Trees of Lebanon.

17. ராஜா தந்தத்தினால் ஒரு பெரிய சிங்காசனத்தையும் செய்வித்து, அதைப்பசும்பொன் தகட்டால் மூடினான்.

17. The king made a great throne of ivory and covered it with pure gold.

18. அந்தச் சிங்காசனத்துக்குப் பொன்னினால் செய்யப்பட்ட ஆறு படிகளும், ஒரு பாதபடியும், உட்காரும் இடத்திற்கு இருபுறத்திலும் கைச்சாய்மானங்களும் இருந்தது; இரண்டு சிங்கங்கள் கைச்சாய்மானங்கள் அருகே நின்றது.

18. There were six steps to the throne, and a part made of gold for his feet was joined to the throne. The throne had arms on each side, and two lions standing beside the arms.

19. அந்த ஆறு படிகளின்மேலும், இரண்டு பக்கத்திலும் பன்னிரண்டு சிங்கங்கள் நின்றது; எந்த ராஜ்யத்திலும் இப்படிப் பண்ணப்படவில்லை.

19. Twelve lions were standing on each side of the six steps. Nothing like it had ever been made for the king of any other nation.

20. ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோனுக்கு இருந்த பானபாத்திரங்களெல்லாம் பொன்னும், லீபனோன் வனம் என்னும் மாளிகையின் பணிமுட்டுகளெல்லாம் பசும்பொன்னுமாயிருந்தது; ஒன்றும் வெள்ளியினால் செய்யப்படவில்லை; சாலொமோனின் நாட்களில் வெள்ளி ஒரு பொருளாய் எண்ணப்படவில்லை.

20. All King Solomon's cups were made of gold. And all the cups of the House of the Trees of Lebanon were made of pure gold. Silver was not thought of as having much worth in the days of Solomon.

21. ராஜாவின் கப்பல்கள் ஈராமின் வேலைக்காரருடன் தர்ஷீசுக்குப் போய்வரும்; தர்ஷீசின் கப்பல்கள் மூன்று வருஷத்துக்கு ஒருதரம் பொன்னையும், வெள்ளியையும், யானைத் தந்தங்களையும், குரங்குகளையும், மயில்களையும் கொண்டுவரும்.

21. For the king had ships which went to Tarshish with Huram's servants. Once every three years the ships of Tarshish came bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.

22. பூமியின் சகல ராஜாக்களைப்பார்க்கிலும் ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் ஐசுவரியத்திலும் ஞானத்திலும் சிறந்தவனாயிருந்தான்.

22. So King Solomon became greater than all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

23. சாலொமோனின் இருதயத்திலே தேவன் அருளிய ஞானத்தைக் கேட்பதற்கு பூமியின் ராஜாக்கள் எல்லாரும் அவன் முகதரிசனத்தைத் தேடினார்கள்.

23. And all the kings of the earth wanted to be with Solomon, to hear his wisdom which God had put into his heart.

24. வருஷாவருஷம் அவரவர் தங்கள் காணிக்கையாகிய வெள்ளிப்பாத்திரங்களையும், பொற்பாத்திரங்களையும், வஸ்திரங்களையும், ஆயுதங்களையும், கந்தவர்க்கங்களையும், குதிரைகளையும், கோவேறு கழுதைகளையும் கொண்டுவருவார்கள்.

24. Every one of them brought his gift. Objects of silver and gold, clothing, objects for battle, spices, horses and donkeys, were brought each year.

25. சாலொமோனுக்கு நாலாயிரம் குதிரை லாயங்களும் இரதங்களும் இருந்தன, பன்னீராயிரம் குதிரை வீரரும் இருந்தார்கள்; அவைகளை இரதங்கள் வைக்கும் பட்டணங்களிலும், அவர்களை எருசலேமில் தன்னிடத்திலும் ராஜா வைத்திருந்தான்.

25. Solomon had 4,000 rooms for horses and war-wagons, and 12,000 horsemen. He put them in the warwagon cities and with the king in Jerusalem.

26. நதி துவக்கிப் பெலிஸ்தரின் தேசமட்டுக்கும் எகிப்தின் எல்லைவரைக்கும் இருக்கிற சகல ராஜாக்களையும் அவன் ஆண்டான்.

26. He was the ruler over all the kings from the Euphrates River to the land of the Philistines, and as far as the land of Egypt.

27. எருசலேமிலே ராஜா வெள்ளியைக் கற்கள்போலவும், கேதுருமரங்களைப் பள்ளத்தாக்குகளில் இருக்கும் காட்டத்தி மரங்கள்போலவும் அதிகமாக்கினான்.

27. And the king made silver as easy to find as stones in Jerusalem. He made cedar trees as easy to find as sycamore trees in the valley.

28. எகிப்திலும் மற்ற தேசங்களிலுமிருந்து சாலொமோனுக்குக் குதிரைகள் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டது.

28. And horses were brought in for Solomon from Egypt and from all countries.

29. சாலொமோனுடைய ஆதியந்தமான மற்ற நடபடிகள் தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய நாத்தானின் புஸ்தகத்திலும், சீலோனியனாகிய அகியா எழுதின தீர்க்கதரிசனத்திலும், நேபாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய யெரொபெயாமைக்குறித்து ஞானதிருஷ்டிக்காரனாகிய இத்தோ எழுதின தரிசனங்களிலும் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கிறது.

29. Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, from first to last, are written in the words of Nathan the man of God. They are written in the holy words of Ahijah the Shilonite. And they are written in the special dreams of Iddo, the man who tells what will happen in the future, about Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

30. சாலொமோன் எருசலேமிலே இஸ்ரவேலையெல்லாம் நாற்பது வருஷம் அரசாண்டான்.

30. Solomon ruled forty years in Jerusalem over all Israel.

31. பின்பு சாலொமோன் தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்தான்; அவனை அவன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் அடக்கம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அவன் ஸ்தானத்திலே அவன் குமாரனாகிய ரெகொபெயாம் ராஜாவானான்.

31. When he died he was buried in the city of his father David. And his son Rehoboam ruled in his place.
