1. எசேக்கியா இருபத்தைந்தாம் வயதில் ராஜாவாகி, இருபத்தொன்பது வருஷம் எருசலேமில் அரசாண்டான்; சகரியாவின் குமாரத்தியாகிய அவனுடைய தாயின் பேர் அபியாள்.

1. And, Hezekiah, began to reign when he was twenty-five years old, and, twenty-nine years, reigned he in Jerusalem, and, the name of his mother, was Abijah, daughter of Zechariah.

2. அவன் தன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீது செய்தபடியெல்லாம் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குச் செம்மையானதைச் செய்தான்.

2. And he did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, according to all that, David his father, had done.

3. அவன் தன் ராஜ்யபாரத்தின் முதலாம் வருஷம் முதலாம் மாதத்தில் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் கதவுகளைத் திறந்து, அவைகளைப் பழுதுபார்த்து,

3. He, in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of Yahweh, and repaired them.

4. ஆசாரியரையும் லேவியரையும் அழைத்துவந்து, அவர்களைக் கிழக்கு வீதியிலே கூடிவரச்செய்து,

4. And he brought in the priests, and the Levites, and gathered them together in the broadway on the east;

5. அவர்களை நோக்கி: லேவியரே, கேளுங்கள்: நீங்கள் இப்போது உங்களைப் பரிசுத்தம் பண்ணிக்கொண்டு, உங்கள் பிதாக்களின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தைப் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணி, அசுத்தமானதைப் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்திலிருந்து வெளியே கொண்டுபோங்கள்.

5. and said unto them, Hear me, O Levites! Now, hallow yourselves, and hallow the house of Yahweh, God of your fathers, and take forth the impure thing out of the holy place.

6. நம்முடைய பிதாக்கள் துரோகம்பண்ணி, நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்து, அவரை விட்டு விலகி, தங்கள் முகங்களைக் கர்த்தருடைய வாசஸ்தலத்தை விட்டுத் திருப்பி, அதற்கு முதுகைக் காட்டினார்கள்.

6. For our fathers have acted unfaithfully and done the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned round their faces from the habitation of Yahweh, and have offered their backs.

7. அவர்கள் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தில் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனுக்குச் சர்வாங்க தகனபலி செலுத்தாமலும், தூபங்காட்டாமலும், விளக்குகளை அணைத்துப்போட்டு, மண்டபத்தின் கதவுகளையும் பூட்டிப்போட்டார்கள்.

7. Moreover they have shut up the doors of the porch, and have quenched the lamps, and, incense, have they not burned, and, ascending-sacrifice, have they not caused to go up in the holy place, unto the God of Israel.

8. ஆகையால் கர்த்தருடைய கடுங்கோபம் யூதாவின்மேலும் எருசலேமின்மேலும் வந்து, அவர் இவர்களை, நீங்கள் உங்கள் கண்களினால் காண்கிறபடி, துயரத்துக்கும் திகைப்புக்கும் பழிப்புக்கும் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.

8. Thus hath it come to pass, that, the wrath of Yahweh, hath been upon Judah and Jerusalem, and he hath delivered them up as a terror and as an astonishment and as hissing, even as, ye, can see with your own eyes.

9. இதோ, இதினிமித்தம் நம்முடைய பிதாக்கள் பட்டயத்தினால் விழுந்து, நம்முடைய குமாரரும் நம்முடைய குமாரத்திகளும் நம்முடைய மனைவிகளும் சிறையிருப்பில் அகப்பட்டார்கள்.

9. And lo! our fathers have fallen by the sword, and, our sons and our daughters and our wives, are in captivity for this.

10. இப்போதும் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய உக்கிரகோபம் நம்மைவிட்டுத் திரும்பும்படிக்கு, அவரோடே உடன்படிக்கைபண்ண என் மனதிலே நிர்ணயித்துக்கொண்டேன்.

10. Now, is it near my heart, to solemnise a covenant unto Yahweh, God of Israel, that he may turn from him the glow of his anger.

11. என் குமாரரே, இப்பொழுது அசதியாயிராதேயுங்கள்; நீங்கள் கர்த்தருக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்யும்படி அவருக்கு முன்பாக நிற்கவும், அவருக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்கிறவர்களும் தூபங்காட்டுகிறவர்களுமாயிருக்கவும் உங்களை அவர் தெரிந்து கொண்டார் என்றான்.

11. My sons! now, do not be faulty, for, of you, hath Yahweh made choice, to stand before him, and to wait upon him, and to be his attendants and burners of incense.

12. அப்பொழுது கோகாத் புத்திரரில் அமாசாயின் குமாரன் மாகாத்தும், அசரியாவின் குமாரன் யோவேலும், மெராரியின் புத்திரரில் அப்தியின் குமாரன் கீசும், எகலேலின் குமாரன் அசரியாவும், கெர்சோனியரில் சிம்மாவின் குமாரன் யோவாகும், யோவாகின் குமாரன் ஏதேனும்,

12. Then arose the Levites Mahath son of Amasai, and Joel son of Azariah, of the sons of the Kohathites, and, of the sons of Merari, Kish son of Abdi, and Azariah son of Jehallelel, and, of the Gershonites, Joah son of Zimmah, and Eden son of Joah;

13. எலிச்சாப்பான் புத்திரரில் சிம்ரியும், ஏயெலும், ஆசாப்பின் புத்திரரில் சகரியாவும், மத்தனியாவும்,

13. and, of the sons of Elizaphan, Shimri and Jeiel, and, of the sons of Asaph, Zechariah, and Mattaniah;

14. ஏமானின் புத்திரரில் எகியேலும், சிமேயியும், எதுத்தூனின் புத்திரரில் செமாயாவும், ஊசியேலும் என்னும் லேவியர் எழும்பி,

14. and, of the sons of Heman, Jehiel and Shimei, and, of the sons of Jeduthun, Shemaiah, and Uzziel;

15. தங்கள் சகோதரரைக் கூடிவரச்செய்து, பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டு, கர்த்தருடைய வசனங்களுக்கொத்த ராஜாவினுடைய கற்பனையின்படியே கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தைச் சுத்திகரிக்க வந்தார்கள்.

15. and they gathered together their brethren, who hallowed themselves, and came in according to the command of the king, in the things of Yahweh, to purify the house of Yahweh.

16. ஆசாரியர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தைச் சுத்திகரிக்கும்படி உட்புறத்திலே பிரவேசித்து, கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் கண்ட சகல அசுத்தத்தையும் வெளியே கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயப்பிராகாரத்தில் கொண்டு வந்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது லேவியர் அதை எடுத்து வெளியே கீதரோன் ஆற்றிற்குக் கொண்டு போனார்கள்.

16. So the priests entered into the inner part of the house of Yahweh, to make purification, and they brought out every unclean thing which they found in the temple of Yahweh, into the court of the house of Yahweh, where the Levites received it, to carry it forth to the Kidron ravine outside.

17. முதல் மாதம் முதல் தேதியிலே அவர்கள் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணத்துவக்கி, எட்டாந்தேதியிலே கர்த்தருடைய மண்டபத்திலே பிரவேசித்து, கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தை எட்டுநாளில் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணி, முதலாம் மாதம் பதினாறாம் தேதியில் அதை முடித்தார்கள்.

17. And they began, on the first of the first month, to hallow, and, on the eighth day of the month, they came to the porch of Yahweh, so they hallowed the house of Yahweh in eight days, and, on the sixteenth day of the first month, they finished.

18. அவர்கள் ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியாவினிடத்திலே போய்: நாங்கள் கர்த்தரின் ஆலயத்தையும், சர்வாங்க தகனபலிபீடத்தையும், அதினுடைய சகல பணிமுட்டுகளையும், சமுகத்தப்பங்களின் மேஜையையும், அதின் சகல பணிமுட்டுகளையும் சுத்திகரித்து,

18. Then came they in unto Hezekiah the king, and said, We have purified all the house of Yahweh, the altar of ascending-sacrifice, and all the utensils thereof, and the table for setting in array, and all the utensils thereof.

19. ராஜாவாகிய ஆகாஸ் அரசாளும்போது தம்முடைய பாதகத்தினால் எறிந்துபோட்ட சகல பணிமுட்டுகளையும் முஸ்திப்பாக்கிப் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணினோம்; இதோ, அவைகள் கர்த்தரின் ஆலயத்திற்கு முன்பாக இருக்கிறது என்றார்கள்.

19. And, all the utensils which King Ahaz in his reign rejected when he acted unfaithfully, have we made ready and hallowed, and, there they are, before the altar of Yahweh.

20. அப்பொழுது ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியா காலமே எழுந்திருந்து, நகரத்தின் பிரபுக்களைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, கர்த்தரின் ஆலயத்திற்குப் போனான்.

20. So Hezekiah the king rose up early, and gathered together the rulers of the city, and went up to the house of Yahweh.

21. அப்பொழுது ராஜ்யபாரத்திற்காகவும் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்திற்காகவும் யூதாவுக்காகவும் ஏழு காளைகளையும், ஏழு ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும், ஏழு ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளையும், ஏழு வெள்ளாட்டுக்கடாக்களையும் பாவநிவாரணபலியாகக் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; அவைகளைக் கர்த்தருடைய பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் பலியிடுங்கள் என்று அவன் ஆசாரியராகிய ஆரோனின் புத்திரருக்குச் சொன்னான்.

21. And they brought in seven bullocks, and seven rams, and seven young sheep, and seven he-goats for bearing sin, for the kingdom and for the sanctuary and for Judah, and he bade the sons of Aaron, the priests, cause them to ascend upon the altar of Yahweh.

22. அப்படியே ஆசாரியர் காளைகளை அடித்து, அந்த இரத்தத்தைப் பிடித்துப் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் தெளித்தார்கள்; ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களை அடித்து, அவைகளின் இரத்தத்தைப் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் தெளித்தார்கள்; ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளையும் அடித்து, அவைகளின் இரத்தத்தையும் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் தெளித்தார்கள்.

22. So they slaughtered the bullocks, and the priests received the blood, and dashed it against the altar, and they slaughtered the rams, and dashed the blood against the altar, and slaughtered the young sheep, and dashed the blood against the altar.

23. பிற்பாடு பாவநிவாரண பலிக்கான வெள்ளாட்டுக்கடாக்களை ராஜாவுக்கும் சபையாருக்கு முன்பாகக் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; அவைகள்மேல் அவர்கள் தங்கள் கைகளை வைத்தார்கள்.

23. And they brought near the he-goats for bearing sin, before the king, and the convocation, and they leaned their hands upon them;

24. இஸ்ரவேல் அனைத்திற்காகவும், சர்வாங்க தகனபலியையும் பாவநிவாரணபலியையும் செலுத்துங்கள் என்று ராஜா சொல்லியிருந்தான்; ஆதலால் ஆசாரியர் அவைகளை அடித்து, இஸ்ரவேல் அனைத்திற்கும் பாவநிவிர்த்தி உண்டாக்க, அவைகளின் இரத்தத்தால் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் பிராயச்சித்தஞ்செய்தார்கள்.

24. and the priests slaughtered them, and sin-cleansed, with their blood, the altar, to put a propitiatory-covering over all Israel, because, for all Israel, did the king appoint the ascending-sacrifice and the offering for bearing sin.

25. அவன், தாவீதும், ராஜாவின் ஞானதிருஷ்டிக்காரனாகிய காத்தும், தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய நாத்தானும் கற்பித்தபடியே, கைத்தாளங்களையும் தம்புருகளையும் சுரமண்டலங்களையும் வாசிக்கிற லேவியரைக் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலே நிறுத்தினான்; இப்படிச் செய்யவேண்டும் என்கிற கற்பனை கர்த்தரால் அவருடைய தீர்க்கதரிசிகளைக்கொண்டு உண்டாயிருந்தது.

25. And he caused the Levites to stand in the house of Yahweh, with cymbals and with harps and with lyres, by the commandment of David, and of Gad the seer of the king, and of Nathan the prophet, for, by the hand of Yahweh, came the commandment by the hand of his prophets.

26. அப்படியே லேவியர் தாவீதின் கீதவாத்தியங்களையும், ஆசாரியர் பூரிகைகளையும் பிடித்து நின்றார்கள்.

26. So the Levites took their stand, with the instruments of David, and the priests, with the trumpets.

27. அப்பொழுது எசேக்கியா சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளைப் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் செலுத்தக் கட்டளையிட்டான்; அதைச் செலுத்தத் துவக்கின நேரத்தில் கர்த்தரைத் துதிக்கும் கீதமும் பூரிகைகளும், இஸ்ரவேல் ராஜாவாகிய தாவீது ஏற்படுத்தின கீதவாத்தியங்களும் முழங்கத்தொடங்கினது.

27. And Hezekiah gave word, to cause the ascending-sacrifice to go up on the altar, and, when the ascending-sacrifice began, the singing unto Yahweh began, and the trumpets, even under the direction of the instruments of David, king of Israel.

28. கீதத்தைப்பாடி, பூரிகைகளை ஊதிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், சர்வாங்க தகனபலியைச் செலுத்தித் தீருமட்டும் சபையார் எல்லாரும் பணிந்துகொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

28. And, all the convocation, were bowing themselves in prostration, and, the song, was resounding and the trumpets were blowing, the whole, until the completing of the ascending-sacrifice.

29. பலியிட்டுத் தீர்ந்தபோது, ராஜாவும் அவனோடிருந்த அனைவரும் தலைகுனிந்து பணிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.

29. And, when the offering was complete, the king knelt down and all who were present with him, and bowed themselves in prostration.

30. பின்பு எசேக்கியா ராஜாவும் பிரபுக்களும் லேவியரை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் தாவீதும் ஞானதிருஷ்டிக்காரனாகிய ஆசாபும் பாடின வார்த்தைகளினால் கர்த்தரைத் துதியுங்கள் என்றார்கள்; அப்பொழுது மகிழ்ச்சியோடே துதிசெய்து தலைகுனிந்து பணிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.

30. And Hezekiah the king and the rulers gave word to the Levites, to offer praise unto Yahweh, in the words of David, and of Asaph the seer, so they offered praise right joyfully, and bent their heads and bowed themselves in prostration.

31. அதின்பின்பு எசேக்கியா: இப்போதும் நீங்கள் கர்த்தருக்கென்று உங்களைப் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணினீர்கள்; ஆகையால் கிட்டவந்து, கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்குத் தகனபலிகளையும் ஸ்தோத்திரபலிகளையும் கொண்டுவாருங்கள் என்றான்; அப்பொழுது சபையார் தகனபலிகளையும் ஸ்தோத்திரபலிகளையும், இஷ்டமுள்ளவர்களெல்லாம் சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையும் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.

31. Then responded Hezekiah and said Now, have ye consecrated yourselves unto Yahweh. Draw near, and bring in sacrifices and thank-offerings unto the house of Yahweh, So the convocation brought sacrifices and thank-offerings, and, everyone of a willing heart, brought ascending-sacrifices.

32. சபையார் கொண்டுவந்த சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளின் தொகை எழுபது காளைகளும், நூறு ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களும், இருநூறு ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளுமே; இவைகளெல்லாம் கர்த்தருக்குச் சர்வாங்க தகனமாயின.

32. And it came to pass that, the number of ascending-sacrifices which the convocation brought, was seventy bullocks, and a hundred rams, and two hundred young sheep, as an ascending-sacrifice unto Yahweh, all these.

33. அறுநூறு காளைகளும் மூவாயிரம் ஆடுகளும் பிரதிஷ்டையாக்கப்பட்டது.

33. But, the hallowed beasts, were six hundred bullocks, and three thousand sheep.

34. ஆனாலும் ஆசாரியர்கள் கொஞ்சம்பேரானதினால் அவர்களால் அந்தச் சர்வாங்க தகனமான ஜீவன்களையெல்லாம் அடித்துத் தோலுரிக்க முடியாதிருந்தது; அதினாலே அந்த வேலை தீருமட்டாகவும், மற்ற ஆசாரியர் தங்களைப் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணுமட்டாகவும், அவர்கள் சகோதரராகிய லேவியர் அவர்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்தார்கள்; தங்களைப் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணிக்கொள்ள லேவியர் ஆசாரியரைப்பார்க்கிலும் மன உற்சாகமுள்ளவர்களாயிருந்தார்கள்.

34. Only, the priests, were too few, and were unable to flay all the ascending-sacrifices, so their brethren the Levites strengthened them, until the work was complete and until the priests had hallowed themselves, for, the Levites, were more upright in heart to hallow themselves, than the priests.

35. சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளும், ஸ்தோத்திரபலிகளின் கொழுப்பும், சர்வாங்கதகனங்களுக்கடுத்த பானபலிகளும் மிகுதியாயிருந்தது; இவ்விதமாய் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் ஆராதனை திட்டம் பண்ணப்பட்டது.

35. Moreover also, the ascending-sacrifices, were in abundance, with the fat portions of the peace-offerings, and with the drink-offerings to every ascending-sacrifice, thus was established the service of the house of Yahweh.

36. தேவன் ஜனத்தை ஆயத்தப்படுத்தினதைக்குறித்து எசேக்கியாவும் ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் சந்தோஷப்பட்டார்கள்; இந்தக் காரியத்தைச் செய்யும்படியான யோசனை சடுதியாய் உண்டாயிற்று.

36. And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, because God had established it for the people, for, suddenly, had the thing come about.
