1. அப்பொழுது யோசேப்பு தன் தகப்பனுடைய முகத்தின்மேல் விழுந்து, அழுது, அவனை முத்தஞ்செய்தான்.

1. And Ioseph fell vpon his fathers face, and wept vpon him, and kyssed hym.

2. பின்பு, தன் தகப்பனுக்குச் சுகந்தவர்க்கமிடும்படி யோசேப்பு தன் ஊழியக்காரராகிய வைத்தியருக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டான்; அப்படியே வைத்தியர் இஸ்ரவேலுக்குச் சுகந்தவர்க்கமிட்டார்கள்.

2. And Ioseph comaunded his seruauntes the phisitians to imbawme his father. And the phisitians enbawmed Israel.

3. சுகந்தவர்க்கமிட நாற்பதுநாள் செல்லும்; அப்படியே அந்த நாட்கள் நிறைவேறின. எகிப்தியர் அவனுக்காக எழுபதுநாள் துக்கங்கொண்டாடினார்கள்.

3. And fourtie dayes were continued (for so long doth the imbawmyng last) and the Egyptians mourned for him thre score and ten dayes.

4. துக்கங்கொண்டாடும் நாட்கள் முடிந்தபின், யோசேப்பு பார்வோனின் குடும்பத்தாரை நோக்கி: உங்கள் கண்களில் எனக்குத் தயவுகிடைத்ததானால், நீங்கள் பார்வோனுடைய காது கேட்க அவருக்கு அறிவிக்கவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்,

4. And when the dayes of mournyng were ended, Ioseph spake vnto ye house of Pharao, saying: If I haue founde fauour in your eyes, speake I pray you in the eares of Pharao, saying:

5. என் தகப்பனார் என்னை நோக்கி: இதோ, நான் மரணமடையப்போகிறேன்; கானான் தேசத்திலே நான் எனக்காக வெட்டிவைத்திருக்கிற கல்லறையிலே என்னை அடக்கபண்ணுவாயாக என்று என்னிடத்தில் சொல்லி, ஆணையிடுவித்துக்கொண்டார்; நான் அங்கே போய், என் தகப்பனை அடக்கம்பண்ணி வருவதற்கு உத்தரவுகொடுக்க வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறேன் என்று சொல்லுங்கள் என்றான்.

5. My father made me sweare, & sayde, Lo I dye, bury me in the graue which I haue made me in the lande of Chanaan. Nowe therfore let me go vp I pray thee, and bury my father, and then wyl I come agayne.

6. அதற்குப் பார்வோன்: உன் தகப்பன் உன்னிடத்தில் ஆணையிடுவித்தபடியே, நீ போய், அவரை அடக்கம்பண்ணி வா என்றான்.

6. And Pharao sayde: Go vp, and bury thy father, accordyng as he made thee sweare.

7. அப்படியே யோசேப்பு தன் தகப்பனை அடக்கம்பண்ணப் போனான். பார்வோனுடைய அரமனையிலிருந்த பெரியவர்களாகிய அவனுடைய சகல உத்தியோகஸ்தரும் எகிப்துதேசத்திலுள்ள சகல பெரியோரும்,

7. And Ioseph went vp to bury his father, and with hym went all the seruautes of Pharao that were the elders of his house, and all the elders of the lande of Egypt:

8. யோசேப்பின் வீட்டார் யாவரும், அவன் சகோதரரும், அவன் தகப்பன் வீட்டாரும் அவனோடேகூடப் போனார்கள். தங்கள் குழந்தைகளையும், தங்கள் ஆடுமாடுகளையும் மாத்திரம் கோசேன் நாட்டிலே விட்டுப் போனார்கள்.

8. And all the house of Ioseph and his brethren, and his fathers house: onlye their chyldren, and their sheepe, & their cattell, left they behynde in the lande of Gosen.

9. இரதங்களும் குதிரைவீரரும் அவனோடே போனதினால், பரிவாரக்கூட்டம் மிகவும் அதிகமாயிருந்தது.

9. And there went with hym also charrettes and horsemen: and it was an exceedyng great companie.

10. அவர்கள் யோர்தானுக்கு அக்கரையில் இருக்கிற ஆத்தாத்தின் போர்க்களத்தில் வந்தபோது, அவ்விடத்திலே பெரும் புலம்பலாகப் புலம்பினார்கள். அங்கே தன் தகப்பனுக்காக ஏழுநாள் துக்கங்கொண்டாடினான்.

10. And they came to the corne floore of Atad, which is beyonde Iordane, and there they made a great and exceedyng sore lamentation: and he mourned for his father seuen dayes.

11. ஆத்தாத்தின் களத்திலே துக்கங்கொண்டாடுகிறதை அத்தேசத்தின் குடிகளாகிய கானானியர் கண்டு: இது எகிப்தியருக்குப் பெரிய துக்கங்கொண்டாடல் என்றார்கள். அதினால் யோர்தானுக்கு அப்பால் இருக்கிற அந்த ஸ்தலத்திற்கு ஆபேல்மிஸ்ராயீம் என்னும் பேர் உண்டாயிற்று.

11. And when the inhabiters of the lande [euen] the Chananites, sawe the mournyng in the corne floore of Atad, they sayde: This is a great mournyng vnto the Egyptians. Wherefore the name of the place is called, The mournyng of the Egyptians, & it is beyond Iordane.

12. யாக்கோபின் குமாரர், தங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டிருந்தபடியே,

12. And his sonnes dyd vnto hym accordyng as he had commaunded them.

13. அவனைக் கானான் தேசத்துக்குக் கொண்டுபோய், ஆபிரகாம் மம்ரேக்கு எதிரே இருக்கிற மக்பேலா என்னும் நிலத்திலே தனக்குச் சொந்தக் கல்லறை பூமியாக ஏத்தியனாகிய எப்பெரோனிடத்தில் வாங்கின நிலத்திலுள்ள குகையிலே அவனை அடக்கம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

13. For his sonnes caryed hym into the lande of Chanaan, & buryed hym in the caue of the fielde Machpelah, whiche fielde Abraham bought to be a place to bury in of Ephron the Hethite, before Mamre.

14. யோசேப்பு தன் தகப்பனை அடக்கம்பண்ணினபின்பு, அவனும் அவன் சகோதரரும், அவனுடைய தகப்பனை அடக்கம்பண்ணுவதற்கு அவனோடேகூடப் போனவர்கள் யாவரும் எகிப்துக்குத் திரும்பினார்கள்.

14. And Ioseph returned into Egypt agayne, he and his brethren, and all that went vp with hym to bury his father, assoone as he had buryed hym.

15. தங்கள் தகப்பன் மரணமடைந்ததை யோசேப்பின் சகோதரர் கண்டு: ஒரு வேளை யோசேப்பு நம்மைப் பகைத்து, நாம் அவனுக்குச் செய்த எல்லாப் பொல்லாங்குக்காகவும் நமக்குச் சரிக்குச் சரிக்கட்டுவான் என்று சொல்லி, யோசேப்பினிடத்தில் ஆள் அனுப்பி,

15. And when Iosephes brethren sawe that their father was dead, they saide: Ioseph may peraduenture hate vs, & rewarde vs againe all the euyll whiche we dyd vnto hym.

16. உம்முடைய சகோதரர் உமக்குப் பொல்லாங்கு செய்திருந்தாலும், அவர்கள் செய்த துரோகத்தையும் பாதகத்தையும் நீர் தயவுசெய்து மன்னிக்கவேண்டும் என்று உம்முடைய தகப்பனார் மரணமடையுமுன்னே, உமக்குச் சொல்லும்படி கட்டளையிட்டார்.

16. And they dyd sende a message vnto Ioseph, saying: Thy father dyd commaunde before he dyed, saying:

17. ஆகையால், உம்முடைய தகப்பனாருடைய தேவனுக்கு ஊழியக்காரராகிய நாங்கள் செய்த துரோகத்தை மன்னிக்கவேண்டும் என்று அவனுக்குச் சொல்லச் சொன்னார்கள். அவர்கள் அதை யோசேப்புக்குச் சொன்னபோது, அவன் அழுதான்.

17. This wyse shall ye say vnto Ioseph, Forgeue [I pray thee] the trespasse of thy brethren, and their sinne: for they rewarded thee euyll. And nowe we praye thee forgeue the trespasse of the seruauntes of the God of thy father. And Ioseph wept when they spake vnto hym.

18. பின்பு, அவனுடைய சகோதரரும் போய், அவனுக்கு முன்பாகத் தாழவிழுந்து: இதோ, நாங்கள் உமக்கு அடிமைகள் என்றார்கள்.

18. Also his brethren came vnto hym, and fell flat before his face, saying: beholde, we be thy seruauntes.

19. யோசேப்பு அவர்களை நோக்கி: பயப்படாதிருங்கள்; நான் தேவனா;

19. To whom Ioseph sayde: Feare not, am I God?

20. நீங்கள் எனக்குத் தீமைசெய்ய நினைத்தீர்கள்; தேவனோ, இப்பொழுது நடந்துவருகிறபடியே, வெகு ஜனங்களை உயிரோடே காக்கும்படிக்கு, அதை நன்மையாக முடியப்பண்ணினார்.

20. Ye thought euil against me, but God turned it vnto good, to bryng to passe as it is this day, and to saue muche people alyue.

21. ஆதலால், பயப்படாதிருங்கள்; நான் உங்களையும் உங்கள் குழந்தைகளையும் பராமரிப்பேன் என்று, அவர்களுக்கு ஆறுதல் சொல்லி, அவர்களோடே பட்சமாய்ப் பேசினான்.

21. Feare not therefore, nowe I wyll noryshe you and your chyldren. And he comforted them, and spake kyndly vnto them.

22. யோசேப்பும் அவன் தகப்பன் குடும்பத்தாரும் எகிப்திலே குடியிருந்தார்கள். யோசேப்பு நூற்றுப்பத்து வருஷம் உயிரோடிருந்தான்.

22. Ioseph dwelt in Egypt, he and his fathers house: and Ioseph lyued an hundred and ten yeres.

23. யோசேப்பு எப்பிராயீமுக்குப் பிறந்த மூன்றாம் தலைமுறைப் பிள்ளைகளையும் கண்டான்; மனாசேயின் குமாரனாகிய மாகீரின் பிள்ளைகளும் யோசேப்பின் மடியில் வளர்க்கப்பட்டார்கள்.

23. And Ioseph sawe Ephraims children euen vnto the thirde generation: and vnto Machir the sonne of Manasses, were chyldren borne on Iosephes knees.

24. யோசேப்பு தன் சகோதரரை நோக்கி: நான் மரணமடையப்போகிறேன்; ஆனாலும் தேவன் உங்களை நிச்சயமாய்ச் சந்தித்து, நீங்கள் இந்தத் தேசத்தை விட்டு, தாம் ஆபிரகாமுக்கும் ஈசாக்குக்கும் யாக்கோபுக்கும் ஆணையிட்டுக் கொடுத்திருக்கிற தேசத்துக்குப் போகப்பண்ணுவார் என்று சொன்னதுமன்றி;

24. And Ioseph sayde vnto his brethren, I dye, & God wyll surely visite you, and bryng you out of this lande, vnto the lande whiche he sware vnto Abraham, Isahac, and Iacob.

25. தேவன் உங்களைச் சந்திக்கும்போது, என் எலும்புகளை இவ்விடத்திலிருந்து கொண்டுபோவீர்களாக என்றும் சொல்லி; யோசேப்பு இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரிடத்தில் ஆணையிடுவித்துக்கொண்டான்.

25. And Ioseph toke an othe of the chyldren of Israel, saying: God wyll not fayle but visite you, and ye shall cary my bones hence.

26. யோசேப்பு நூற்றுப்பத்து வயதுள்ளவனாய் மரித்தான். அவனுக்குச் சுகந்தவர்க்கமிட்டு, எகிப்து தேசத்தில் அவனை ஒரு பெட்டியிலே வைத்துவைத்தார்கள்.

26. And so Ioseph dyed when he was an hundred and ten yeres olde: And they imbawmed hym with spyces, puttyng hym in a chest in Egypt.
