1. இந்த நடபடிகளுக்குப்பின்பு, எகிப்து ராஜாவுக்குப் பானபாத்திரக்காரனும் சுயம்பாகியும் எகிப்து ராஜாவாகிய தங்கள் ஆண்டவனுக்குக் குற்றம் செய்தார்கள்.

1. Some time later, the Egyptian king's baker and wine taster did something their master didn't like.

2. பார்வோன் தன் பானபாத்திரக்காரரின் தலைவனும் சுயம்பாகிகளின் தலைவனும் ஆகிய இவ்விரண்டு பிரதானிகள் மேலும் கடுங்கோபங்கொண்டு,

2. So Pharaoh became angry with his two officials, the chief wine taster and the chief baker.

3. அவர்களை யோசேப்பு வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த இடமும் தலையாரிகளின் அதிபதியின் வீடுமாகிய சிறைச்சாலையிலே காவல்பண்ணுவித்தான்.

3. He put them in prison in the house of the captain of the palace guard. It was the same prison where Joseph was kept.

4. தலையாரிகளின் அதிபதி அவர்களை விசாரிக்கும்படி யோசேப்பின் வசத்தில் ஒப்புவித்தான்; அவன் அவர்களை விசாரித்து வந்தான்; அவர்கள் அநேகநாள் காவலில் இருந்தார்கள்.

4. The captain put Joseph in charge of those men. So Joseph took care of them. Some time passed while they were in prison.

5. எகிப்து ராஜாவுக்குப் பானபாத்திரக்காரனும் சுயம்பாகியுமாகிய அவ்விரண்டுபேரும் சிறைச்சாலையில் இருக்கும்போது, ஒரே ராத்திரியிலே வெவ்வேறு பொருள்கொண்ட சொப்பனம் கண்டார்கள்.

5. Then each of the two men had a dream. The men were the Egyptian king's baker and wine taster. They were being held in prison. Both of them had dreams the same night. Each of their dreams had its own meaning.

6. காலமே யோசேப்பு அவர்களிடத்தில் போய், அவர்களைப் பார்க்கும்போது, அவர்கள் கலங்கியிருந்தார்கள்.

6. Joseph came to them the next morning. He saw that they were sad.

7. அப்பொழுது அவன் தன் எஜமானுடைய வீட்டில் தன்னோடே காவல்பண்ணப்பட்டிருந்த பார்வோனுடைய பிரதானிகளை நோக்கி: உங்கள் முகங்கள் இன்று துக்கமாயிருக்கிறது என்ன என்று கேட்டான்.

7. They were Pharaoh's officials, and they were in prison with Joseph in his master's house. So he asked them, 'Why do you look so sad today?'

8. அதற்கு அவர்கள்: சொப்பனம் கண்டோம், அதற்கு அர்த்தம் சொல்லுகிறவன் ஒருவனும் இல்லை என்றார்கள். அதற்கு யோசேப்பு: சொப்பனத்துக்கு அர்த்தம் சொல்லுதல் தேவனுக்குரியதல்லவா? அவைகளை என்னிடத்தில் சொல்லுங்கள் என்றான்.

8. 'We both had dreams,' they answered. 'But no one can tell us what they mean.' Then Joseph said to them, 'Only God knows what dreams mean. Tell me your dreams.'

9. அப்பொழுது பானபாத்திரக்காரரின் தலைவன் யோசேப்பை நோக்கி: என் சொப்பனத்திலே ஒரு திராட்சச்செடி எனக்கு முன்பாக இருக்கக்கண்டேன்.

9. So the chief wine taster told Joseph his dream. He said to him, 'In my dream I saw a vine in front of me.

10. அந்தத் திராட்சச்செடியிலே மூன்று கொடிகள் இருந்தது; அது துளிர்க்கிறதாயிருந்தது; அதில் பூக்கள் மலர்ந்திருந்தது; அதின் குலைகள் பழுத்த பழங்களாயிருந்தது.

10. There were three branches on the vine. As soon as it budded, it flowered. And bunches of ripe grapes grew on it.

11. பார்வோனுடைய பாத்திரம் என்கையிலே இருந்தது; நான் அந்தப் பழங்களைப் பறித்து, அவைகளைப் பார்வோனுடைய பாத்திரத்தில் பிழிந்து, அந்தப் பாத்திரத்தைப் பார்வோனுடைய கையிலே கொடுத்தேன் என்று, தன் சொப்பனத்தைச் சொன்னான்.

11. 'Pharaoh's cup was in my hand. I took the grapes. I squeezed them into Pharaoh's cup. Then I put the cup in his hand.'

12. அதற்கு யோசேப்பு: அந்த மூன்று கொடிகளும் மூன்று நாளாம்.

12. 'Here's what your dream means,' Joseph said to him. 'The three branches are three days.

13. மூன்று நாளைக்குள்ளே பார்வோன் உன் தலையை உயர்த்தி, உன்னை மறுபடியும் உன் நிலையிலே நிறுத்துவார்; முன்னே அவருக்குப் பானம் கொடுத்துவந்த வழக்கத்தின்படி பார்வோனின் பாத்திரத்தை அவர் கையிலே கொடுப்பாய்;

13. In three days Pharaoh will let you out of prison. He'll give your position back to you. And you will put Pharaoh's cup in his hand. That's what you used to do when you were his wine taster.

14. இதுதான் அதின் அர்த்தம் என்று சொன்னதும் அன்றி நீ வாழ்வடைந்திருக்கும்போது, என்னை நினைத்து, என்மேல் தயவுவைத்து, என் காரியத்தைப் பார்வோனுக்கு அறிவித்து, இந்த இடத்திலிருந்து என்னை விடுதலையாக்கவேண்டும்.

14. 'But when everything is going well with you, remember me. Do me a favor. Speak to Pharaoh about me. Get me out of this prison.

15. நான் எபிரெயருடைய தேசத்திலிருந்து களவாய்க் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டேன்; என்னை இந்தக் காவல்கிடங்கில் வைக்கும்படிக்கும் நான் இவ்விடத்தில் ஒன்றும் செய்யவில்லை என்றும் சொன்னான்.

15. I was taken away from the land of the Hebrews by force. Even here I haven't done anything to be put in prison for.'

16. அர்த்தம் நன்றாயிருக்கிறது என்று சுயம்பாகிகளின் தலைவன் கண்டு, யோசேப்பை நோக்கி: நானும் என் சொப்பனத்தில் மூன்று வெள்ளைக் கூடைகள் என் தலையின்மேல் இருக்கக்கண்டேன்;

16. The chief baker saw that Joseph had given a positive meaning to the wine taster's dream. So he said to Joseph, 'I had a dream too. There were three baskets of bread on my head.

17. மேற்கூடையிலே பார்வோனுக்காக சமைக்கப்பட்ட சகலவித பலகாரங்களிலும் கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சம் இருந்தது; என் தலையின் மேல் கூடையில் இருந்தவைகளைப் பறவைகள் வந்து பட்சித்தது என்றான்.

17. All kinds of baked goods for Pharaoh were in the top basket. But the birds were eating them out of the basket that was on my head.'

18. அதற்கு யோசேப்பு: அந்த மூன்று கூடைகளும் மூன்று நாளாம்.

18. 'Here's what your dream means,' Joseph said. 'The three baskets are three days.

19. இன்னும் மூன்று நாளைக்குள்ளே பார்வோன் உன் தலையை உயர்த்தி, உன்னை மரத்திலே தூக்கிப்போடுவார்; அப்பொழுது பறவைகள் உன் மாம்சத்தைத் தின்னும், இதுதான் அதின் அர்த்தம் என்று சொன்னான்.

19. In three days Pharaoh will cut your head off. Then he will stick a pole through your body and set the pole up. The birds will eat up your body.'

20. மூன்றாம் நாள் பார்வோனுடைய ஜன்ம நாளாயிருந்தது; அவன் தன் ஊழியக்காரர் எல்லாருக்கும் விருந்துபண்ணி, பானபாத்திரக்காரருடைய தலைவன் தலையையும் சுயம்பாகிகளுடைய தலைவன் தலையையும் தன் உத்தியோகஸ்தரின் நடுவே உயர்த்தி,

20. The third day was Pharaoh's birthday. He had a big dinner prepared for all of his officials. He brought the chief wine taster and the chief baker out of prison. He did it in front of his officials.

21. பானபாத்திரக்காரரின் தலைவனைப் பானங்கொடுக்கிற தன் உத்தியோகத்திலே மறுபடியும் வைத்தான்; அந்தப்படியே அவன் பார்வோனுடைய கையிலே பாத்திரத்தைக் கொடுத்தான்.

21. He gave the chief wine taster's position back to him. Once again the wine taster put the cup into Pharaoh's hand.

22. சுயம்பாகிகளின் தலைவனையோ தூக்கிப்போட்டான். யோசேப்பு அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்ன அர்த்தத்தின்படியே சம்பவித்தது.

22. But Pharaoh had a pole stuck through the chief baker's body. Then he had the pole set up. Everything happened exactly as Joseph had told them when he explained their dreams.

23. ஆனாலும் பானபாத்திரக்காரனின் தலைவன் யோசேப்பை நினையாமல் அவனை மறந்துவிட்டான்.

23. But the chief wine taster didn't remember Joseph. In fact, he forgot all about him.
