1. ஆபிரகாம் வயதுசென்று முதிர்ந்தவனானான். கர்த்தர் ஆபிரகாமைச் சகல காரியங்களிலும் ஆசீர்வதித்து வந்தார்.

1. Nowe Abraham was olde, and striken in yeeres, and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.

2. அப்பொழுது ஆபிரகாம் தன் வீட்டிலுள்ளவர்களில் வயதில் மூத்தவனும், தனக்கு உண்டான எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் அதிகாரியுமாகிய தன் ஊழியக்காரனை நோக்கி:

2. Therefore Abraham saide vnto his eldest seruant of his house, which had the rule ouer all that he had, Put nowe thine hand vnder my thigh,

3. நான் குடியிருக்கிற கானானியருடைய குமாரத்திகளில் நீ என் குமாரனுக்குப் பெண்கொள்ளாமல்;

3. And I will make thee sweare by ye Lord God of the heauen, and God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife vnto my sonne of the daughters of the Canaanites among who I dwel.

4. நீ என் தேசத்துக்கும் என் இனத்தாரிடத்துக்கும் போய், என் குமாரனாகிய ஈசாக்குக்குப் பெண்கொள்வேன் என்று, வானத்துக்குத் தேவனும் பூமிக்குத் தேவனுமாகிய கர்த்தர் பேரில் எனக்கு ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுக்கும்படிக்கு, நீ உன் கையை என் தொடையின்கீழ் வை என்றான்.

4. But thou shalt go vnto my countrey, and to my kinred, and take a wife vnto my sone Izhak.

5. அதற்கு அந்த ஊழியக்காரன்: அவ்விடத்துப் பெண் என் பின்னே இந்தத் தேசத்துக்கு வர மனதில்லாதிருந்தால், நீர் விட்டுவந்த தேசத்திற்குத்தானே உம்முடைய குமாரனை மறுபடியும் அழைத்துப்போகவேண்டுமோ என்று கேட்டான்.

5. And the seruant saide to him, What if the woman will not come with me to this land? shall I bring thy sonne againe vnto the lande from whence thou camest?

6. அதற்கு ஆபிரகாம்: நீ என் குமாரனை மறுபடியும் அங்கே அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போகாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிரு.

6. To whom Abraham answered, Beware that thou bring not my sonne thither againe.

7. என்னை என் தகப்பனுடைய வீட்டிலும் என் இனத்தார் இருக்கிற தேசத்திலுமிருந்து அழைத்துவந்தவரும், உன் சந்ததிக்கு இந்த தேசத்தைத் தருவேன் என்று எனக்குச் சொல்லி ஆணையிட்டவருமான வானத்துக்குத் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர், நீ அங்கேயிருந்து என் குமாரனுக்கு ஒரு பெண்ணைக் கொண்டுவரும்படிக்கு, தம்முடைய தூதனை உனக்கு முன்பாக அனுப்புவார்.

7. The Lord God of heauen, who tooke me from my fathers house, and from the land where I was borne, and that spake vnto me, and that sware vnto me, saying, Vnto thy seede wil I giue this land, he shall send his Angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife vnto my sonne from thence.

8. பெண் உன் பின்னே வர மனதில்லாதிருந்தாளேயாகில், அப்பொழுது நீ இந்த என் ஆணைக்கு நீங்கலாயிருப்பாய்; அங்கே மாத்திரம் என் குமாரனை மறுபடியும் அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போகவேண்டாம் என்றான்.

8. Neuertheles if the woman wil not follow thee, then shalt thou bee discharged of this mine othe: onely bring not my sonne thither againe.

9. அப்பொழுது அந்த ஊழியக்காரன் தன் கையைத் தன் எஜமானாகிய ஆபிரகாமுடைய தொடையின்கீழ் வைத்து, இந்தக் காரியத்தைக்குறித்து அவனுக்கு ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுத்தான்.

9. Then the seruant put his hand vnder the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him for this matter.

10. பின்பு அந்த ஊழியக்காரன் தன் எஜமானுடைய ஒட்டகங்களில் பத்து ஒட்டகங்களைத் தன்னுடனே கொண்டுபோனான்; தன் எஜமானுடைய சகலவித உச்சிதமான பொருள்களும் அவன் கையில் இருந்தன; அவன் எழுந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், மெசொப்பொத்தாமியாவிலே நாகோருடைய ஊரில் சேர்ந்து,

10. So the seruant tooke ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed: (for he had all his masters goods in his hand:) and so he arose, and went to Aram Naharaim, vnto the citie of Nahor.

11. ஊருக்குப் புறம்பே ஒரு தண்ணீர்த் துரவண்டையிலே, தண்ணீர் மொள்ள ஸ்திரீகள் புறப்படுகிற சாயங்கால வேளையிலே, ஒட்டகங்களை மடக்கி, தனக்குள்ளே சொல்லிக்கொண்டது என்னவென்றால்:

11. And he made his camels to lye downe without the citie by a well of water, at euentide about the time that the women come out to draw water.

12. என் எஜமானாகிய ஆபிரகாமுக்கு தேவனாயிருக்கிற கர்த்தாவே, இன்றைக்கு நீர் எனக்குக் காரியம் சித்திக்கப்பண்ணி, என் எஜமானாகிய ஆபிரகாமுக்குத் தயவு செய்தருளும்.

12. And he said, O Lord God of my master Abraham, I beseech thee, send me good speede this day, and shew mercy vnto my master Abraham.

13. இதோ, நான் இந்தத் தண்ணீர்த்துரவண்டையிலே நிற்கிறேன், இந்த ஊராருடைய பெண்கள் தண்ணீர் மொள்ளப்புறப்பட்டு வருவார்களே.

13. Lo, I stand by the well of water, whiles the mens daughters of this citie come out to drawe water.

14. நான் குடிக்க உன் குடத்தைச் சாய்க்கவேண்டும் என்று நான் சொல்லும்போது: குடி என்றும், உன் ஒட்டகங்களும் குடிக்கும்படி வார்ப்பேன் என்றும் சொல்லும் பெண் எவளோ, அவளே நீர் உம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரனாகிய ஈசாக்குக்கு நியமித்தவளாயிருக்கவும், என் எஜமானுக்கு அநுக்கிரகம் செய்தீர் என்று நான் அதினாலே அறியவும் செய்தருளும் என்றான்.

14. Graunt therefore that ye maide, to whom I say, Bowe downe thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drinke: if she say, Drinke, and I will giue thy camels drinke also: may be she that thou hast ordeined for thy seruant Izhak: and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed mercy on my master.

15. அவன் இப்படிச் சொல்லி முடிக்கும் முன்னே, இதோ, ஆபிரகாமுடைய சகோதரனாகிய நாகோரின் மனைவி மில்க்காளுடைய குமாரனாகிய பெத்துவேலுக்குப் பிறந்த ரெபெக்காள் குடத்தைத் தோள்மேல் வைத்துக்கொண்டு புறப்பட்டுவந்தாள்.

15. And nowe yer he had left speaking, beholde, Rebekah came out, the daughter of Bethuel, sonne of Milcah the wife of Nahor Abrahams brother, and her pitcher vpon her shoulder.

16. அந்தப் பெண் மகா ரூபவதியும், புருஷனை அறியாத கன்னிகையுமாய் இருந்தாள்; அவள் துரவில் இறங்கி, தன் குடத்தை நிரப்பிக்கொண்டு ஏறிவந்தாள்.

16. (And the maide was very faire to looke vpon, a virgine and vnknowen of man) and she went downe to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came vp.

17. அப்பொழுது அந்த ஊழியக்காரன், அவளுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டோடி: உன் குடத்திலிருக்கிற தண்ணீரில் கொஞ்சம் குடிக்கத் தரவேண்டும் என்றான்.

17. Then the seruant ranne to meete her, and said, Let me drinke, I pray thee, a litle water of thy pitcher.

18. அதற்கு அவள்: குடியும் என் ஆண்டவனே என்று சீக்கிரமாய்க் குடத்தைத் தன் கையில் இறக்கிக்கொண்டு, அவனுக்குக் குடிக்கக் கொடுத்தாள்.

18. And she said, Drinke sir: and she hasted, and let downe her pitcher vpon her hand and gaue him drinke.

19. கொடுத்தபின், உம்முடைய ஒட்டகங்களும் குடித்துத் தீருமட்டும் அவைகளுக்கும் மொண்டு வார்ப்பேன் என்றுசொல்லி;

19. And when she had giuen him drinke, she said, I will drawe water for thy camels also vntill they haue drunken inough.

20. சீக்கிரமாய்த் தன் குடத்துத் தண்ணீரைத் தொட்டியிலே ஊற்றிவிட்டு, இன்னும் மொண்டுவரத் துரவண்டையில் ஓடி, அவனுடைய ஒட்டகங்களுக்கெல்லாம் மொண்டு வார்த்தாள்.

20. And she powred out her pitcher into the trough speedily; and ranne againe vnto the well to drawe water, and she drewe for all his camels.

21. அந்த மனிதன் அவளைக்குறித்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு, கர்த்தர் தன் பிரயாணத்தை வாய்க்கப்பண்ணினாரோ இல்லையோ என்று அறியும்பொருட்டு மவுனமாயிருந்தான்.

21. So the man wondred at her, and helde his peace, to knowe whether the Lord had made his iourney prosperous or not.

22. ஒட்டகங்கள் குடித்துத் தீர்ந்தபின், அந்த மனிதன் அரைச்சேக்கல் எடையுள்ள பொற்காதணியையும், அவள் கைகளுக்குப் பத்துச் சேக்கல் எடைப் பொன்னுள்ள இரண்டு கடகங்களையும் எடுத்துக்கொடுத்து,

22. And when the camels had left drinking, the man tooke a golden abillement of halfe a shekell weight, and two bracelets for her hands, of ten shekels weight of golde:

23. நீ யாருடைய மகள், எனக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டும்; நாங்கள் உன் தகப்பன் வீட்டில் இராத்தங்க இடம் உண்டா என்றான்.

23. And he said, Whose daughter art thou? tell me, I pray thee, Is there roume in thy fathers house for vs to lodge in?

24. அதற்கு அவள்: நான் நாகோருக்கு மில்க்காள் பெற்ற குமாரனாகிய பெத்துவேலின் மகள் என்று சொன்னதுமன்றி,

24. Then she said to him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the sonne of Milcah whom she bare vnto Nahor.

25. எங்களிடத்தில் வைக்கோலும் தீவனமும் வேண்டியமட்டும் இருக்கிறது; இராத்தங்க இடமும் உண்டு என்றாள்.

25. Moreouer she said vnto him, We haue litter also and prouender ynough, and roume to lodge in.

26. அப்பொழுது அந்த மனிதன் தலைகுனிந்து, கர்த்தரைப்பணிந்துகொண்டு,

26. And the man bowed himselfe and worshipped the Lord,

27. என் எஜமானாகிய ஆபிரகாமின் தேவனாயிருக்கிற கர்த்தருக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம்; அவர் தம்முடைய கிருபையையும், தம்முடைய உண்மையையும் என் எஜமானை விட்டு நீக்கவில்லை; நான் பிரயாணம் பண்ணிவருகையில், கர்த்தர் என் எஜமானுடைய சகோதரர் வீட்டுக்கு என்னை அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வந்தார் என்றான்.

27. And said, Blessed be the Lord God of my master Abraham, which hath not withdrawen his mercie and his trueth from my master: for when I was in the way, the Lord brought me to my masters brethrens house.

28. அந்தப் பெண் ஓடி, இந்தக் காரியங்களைத் தன் தாயின் வீட்டிலுள்ளவர்களுக்கு அறிவித்தாள்.

28. And the maide ranne and tolde them of her mothers house according to these wordes.

29. ரெபெக்காளுக்கு ஒரு சகோதரன் இருந்தான்; அவனுக்கு லாபான் என்று பேர்; அந்த லாபான் வெளியே துரவண்டையிலே இருந்த அந்த மனிதனிடத்துக்கு ஓடினான்.

29. Now Rebekah had a brother called Laban, and Laban ranne vnto the man to the well.

30. அவன் தன் சகோதரி தரித்திருந்த அந்தக் காதணியையும், அவள் கைகளில் போட்டிருந்த கடகங்களையும் பார்த்து, இன்ன இன்னபடி அந்த மனிதன் என்னோடே பேசினானென்று தன் சகோதரி ரெபெக்காள் சொன்ன வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டமாத்திரத்தில், அந்த மனிதனிடத்தில் வந்தான்; அவன் துரவு அருகே ஒட்டகங்கள் அண்டையில் நின்றுகொண்டிருந்தான்.

30. For when he had seene the earings and the bracelets in his sisters hands, and when he heard the wordes of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus said the man vnto me, then he went to the man, and loe, he stoode by the camels at the well.

31. அப்பொழுது அவன்: கர்த்தரால் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவரே, உள்ளே வாரும்; நீர் வெளியே நிற்பானேன்? உமக்கு வீடும், ஒட்டகங்களுக்கு இடமும் ஆயத்தம்பண்ணியிருக்கிறேன் என்றான்.

31. And he saide, Come in thou blessed of the Lord: wherefore standest thou without, seeing I haue prepared the house, and roume for ye camels?

32. அப்பொழுது அந்த மனிதன் வீட்டுக்குப் போனான். லாபான் ஒட்டகங்களின் கட்டவிழ்த்து, ஒட்டகங்களுக்கு வைக்கோலும் தீவனமும் போட்டு, அவனும், அவனோடே வந்தவர்களும் தங்கள் கால்களைக் கழுவிக்கொள்ளத் தண்ணீர் கொடுத்தான்.

32. Then the man came into the house, and he vnsadled the camels, and brought litter and prouender for the camels, and water to wash his feete, and the mens feete that were with him.

33. பின்பு, அவனுக்கு முன்பாக போஜனம் வைக்கப்பட்டது. அப்பொழுது அவன்: நான் வந்த காரியத்தைச் சொல்லுமுன்னே புசிக்கமாட்டேன் என்றான். அதற்கு அவன், சொல்லும் என்றான்.

33. Afterward the meate was set before him: but he saide, I will not eate, vntill I haue saide my message: And he said, Speake on.

34. அப்பொழுது அவன்: நான் ஆபிரகாமுடைய ஊழியக்காரன்.

34. Then he said, I am Abrahams seruant,

35. கர்த்தர் என் எஜமானை மிகவும் ஆசீர்வதித்திருக்கிறார், அவர் சீமானாயிருக்கிறார்; கர்த்தர் அவருக்கு ஆடுமாடுகளையும், வெள்ளியையும், பொன்னையும், வேலைக்காரரையும், வேலைக்காரிகளையும், ஒட்டகங்களையும், கழுதைகளையும் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்.

35. And the Lord hath blessed my master wonderfully, that he is become great: for he hath giuen him sheepe, and beeues, and siluer, and golde, and men seruants, and maide seruants, and camels, and asses.

36. என் எஜமானுடைய மனைவியாகிய சாராள் முதிர்வயதானபோது, என் எஜமானுக்கு ஒரு குமாரனைப் பெற்றாள்; அவர் தமக்கு உண்டான யாவையும் அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்.

36. And Sarah my masters wife hath borne a sonne to my master, when she was olde, and vnto him hath he giuen all that he hath.

37. என் எஜமான் என்னை நோக்கி: நான் குடியிருக்கிற கானான் தேசத்தாருடைய குமாரத்திகளில் நீ என் குமாரனுக்குப் பெண்கொள்ளாமல்,

37. Now my master made me sweare, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife to my sonne of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell:

38. நீ என் தகப்பன் வீட்டுக்கும், என் இனத்தாரிடத்துக்கும் போய், என் குமாரனுக்குப் பெண்கொள்ளவேண்டும் என்று ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுக்கும்படி சொன்னார்.

38. But thou shalt go vnto my fathers house and to my kinred, and take a wife vnto my sonne.

39. அப்பொழுது நான் என் எஜமானை நோக்கி: ஒருவேளை அந்தப் பெண் என்பின்னே வராதேபோனாலோ என்று கேட்டதற்கு,

39. Then I saide vnto my master, What if the woman will not follow me?

40. அவர்: நான் வழிபடும் கர்த்தர் உன்னோடே தம்முடைய தூதனை அனுப்பி, உன் பிரயாணத்தை வாய்க்கப்பண்ணுவார்; என் இனத்தாரிடத்திலும், என் தகப்பன் வீட்டிலும் நீ என் குமாரனுக்குப் பெண்கொள்வாய்.

40. Who answered me, The Lord, before who I walke, will send his Angel with thee, and prosper thy iourney, and thou shalt take a wife for my sonne of my kinred and my fathers house.

41. நீ என் இனத்தாரிடத்துக்குப்போனால், என் ஆணைக்கு நீங்கலாயிருப்பாய்; அவர்கள் உனக்குப் பெண்கொடாமற்போனாலும், நீ என் ஆணைக்கு நீங்கலாயிருப்பாய் என்றார்.

41. Then shalt thou be discharged of mine othe, when thou commest to my kinred: and if they giue thee not one, thou shalt be free from mine othe.

42. அப்படியே நான் இன்று துரவண்டையிலே வந்து: என் எஜமானாகிய ஆபிரகாமின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரே, என் பிரயாணத்தை நீர் இப்பொழுது வாய்க்கப்பண்ணுவீரானால்,

42. So I came this day to the well, and said, O Lord, the God of my master Abraham, if thou nowe prosper my iourney which I goe,

43. இதோ, நான் தண்ணீர்த் துரவண்டையிலே நிற்கிறேன், தண்ணீர் மொள்ள வரப்போகிற கன்னிகையை நான் நோக்கி: உன் குடத்திலிருக்கிற தண்ணீரில் கொஞ்சம் எனக்குக் குடிக்கத்தரவேண்டும் என்று கேட்கும்போது:

43. Behold, I stand by the well of water: when a virgine commeth forth to drawe water, and I say to her, Giue me, I pray thee, a litle water of thy pitcher to drinke,

44. நீ குடி என்றும், உன் ஒட்டகங்களுக்கும் மொண்டு வார்ப்பேன் என்றும் சொல்லும் பெண்ணே கர்த்தர் என் எஜமானுடைய குமாரனுக்கு நியமித்த ஸ்திரீயாகவேண்டும் என்றேன்.

44. And she say to me, Drinke thou, and I will also drawe for thy camels, let her be ye wife, which the Lord hath prepared for my masters sonne.

45. நான் இதை என் இருதயத்தில் சொல்லி முடிக்குமுன்னே, இதோ, ரெபெக்காள் தன் குடத்தைத் தோள்மேல் வைத்துக்கொண்டு புறப்பட்டுவந்து, துரவில் இறங்கிப்போய்த் தண்ணீர் மொண்டாள். அப்பொழுது நான்: எனக்குக் குடிக்கத்தரவேண்டும் என்றேன்.

45. And before I had made an end of speaking in mine heart, beholde, Rebekah came foorth, and her pitcher on her shoulder, and she went downe vnto the well, and drewe water. Then I said vnto her, Giue me drinke, I pray thee.

46. அவள் சீக்கிரமாய்த் தன் தோள்மேலிருந்த குடத்தை இறக்கி, குடியும், உம்முடைய ஒட்டகங்களுக்கும் வார்ப்பேன் என்றாள். நான் குடித்தேன்; ஒட்டகங்களுக்கும் வார்த்தாள்.

46. And she made haste, and tooke downe her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, Drinke, and I will giue thy camels drinke also. So I dranke, and she gaue the camels drinke also.

47. அப்பொழுது: நீ யாருடைய மகள் என்று அவளைக் கேட்டேன்; அதற்கு அவள்: நான் மில்க்காள் நாகோருக்குப் பெற்ற குமாரனாகிய பெத்துவேலின் மகள் என்றாள்; அப்பொழுது அவளுக்குக் காதணியையும், அவள் கைகளிலே கடகங்களையும் போட்டு;

47. Then I asked her, and said, Whose daughter art thou? And she answered, The daughter of Bethuel Nahors sonne, whom Milcah bare vnto him. Then I put the abillement vpon her face, and the bracelets vpon her hands:

48. தலைகுனிந்து, கர்த்தரைப் பணிந்துகொண்டு, நான் என் எஜமானுடைய சகோதரன் குமாரத்தியை அவர் குமாரனுக்குக் கொள்ள என்னை நேர்வழியாய் நடத்திவந்த என் எஜமானாகிய ஆபிரகாமின் தேவனாயிருக்கிற கர்த்தரை ஸ்தோத்திரித்தேன்.

48. And I bowed downe and worshipped the Lord, and blessed the Lord God of my master Abraham, which had brought me the right way to take my masters brothers daughter vnto his sone.

49. இப்பொழுதும் நீங்களும் என் எஜமானுக்குத் தயையும் உண்மையும் உடையவர்களாய் நடக்க மனதுள்ளவர்களானால், எனக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள்; இல்லையென்றால் அதையும் எனக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள், அப்பொழுது நான் வலதுபுறத்தையாகிலும் இடதுபுறத்தையாகிலும் நோக்கிப்போவேன் என்றான்.

49. Now therefore, if ye will deale mercifully and truely with my master, tell me: and if not, tell me that I may turne me to the right hand or to the left.

50. அப்பொழுது லாபானும் பெத்துவேலும் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: இந்தக் காரியம் கர்த்தரால் வந்தது, உமக்கு நாங்கள் நலம் பொலம் ஒன்றும் சொல்லக்கூடாது.

50. Then answered Laban and Bethuel, and said, This thing is proceeded of the Lord: we cannot therefore say vnto thee, neither euill nor good.

51. இதோ, ரெபெக்காள் உமக்கு முன்பாக இருக்கிறாள்; கர்த்தர் சொன்னபடியே அவள் உமது எஜமானுடைய குமாரனுக்கு மனைவியாகும்படிக்கு, அவளை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோம் என்றார்கள்.

51. Beholde, Rebehak is before thee, take her and goe, that she may be thy masters sonnes wife, euen as the Lord hath said.

52. ஆபிரகாமின் ஊழியக்காரன் அவர்கள் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டபோது, தரை மட்டும் குனிந்து, கர்த்தரைப் பணிந்துகொண்டான்.

52. And when Abrahams seruant heard their wordes, he bowed himselfe toward the earth vnto the Lord.

53. பின்பு அந்த ஊழியக்காரன் வெள்ளியுடைமைகளையும், பொன்னுடைமைகளையும், வஸ்திரங்களையும் எடுத்து, ரெபெக்காளுக்குக் கொடுத்ததுமன்றி, அவளுடைய சகோதரனுக்கும் தாய்க்கும் சில உச்சிதங்களையும் கொடுத்தான்.

53. Then the seruant tooke foorth iewels of siluer, and iewels of golde, and raiment, and gaue to Rebekah: also vnto her brother and to her mother he gaue gifts.

54. பின்பு அவனும் அவனோடிருந்த மனிதரும் புசித்துக் குடித்து, இராத்தங்கினார்கள்; காலையிலே எழுந்திருந்து, அவன்: என் எஜமானிடத்துக்கு என்னை அனுப்பிவிடுங்கள் என்றான்.

54. Afterward they did eate and drinke, both he, and the men that were with him, and taried all night. and when they rose vp in the morning, he said, Let me depart vnto my master.

55. அப்பொழுது அவள் சகோதரனும் அவள் தாயும், பத்து நாளாகிலும் பெண் எங்களோடிருக்கட்டும், பிற்பாடு போகலாம் என்றார்கள்.

55. Then her brother and her mother answered, Let the maide abide with vs, at the least ten dayes: then shall she goe.

56. அதற்கு அவன்: கர்த்தர் என் பிரயாணத்தை வாய்க்கப்பண்ணியிருக்க, நீங்கள் எனக்குத் தடைசெய்யாதிருங்கள்; நான் என் எஜமானிடத்துக்குப்போக என்னை அனுப்பிவிடவேண்டும் என்றான்.

56. But he said vnto them, Hinder you me not, seeing the Lord hath prospered my iourney: send me away, that I may goe to my master.

57. அப்பொழுது அவர்கள்: பெண்ணை அழைத்து, அவள் வாய்ப்பிறப்பைக் கேட்போம் என்று சொல்லி,

57. Then they said, We will call the maide, and aske her consent.

58. ரெபெக்காளை அழைத்து: நீ இந்த மனிதனோடேகூடப் போகிறாயா என்று கேட்டார்கள். அவள்: போகிறேன் என்றாள்.

58. And they called Rebekah, and saide vnto her, Wilt thou go with this man? And she answered, I will go.

59. அப்படியே அவர்கள் தங்கள் சகோதரியாகிய ரெபெக்காளையும், அவள் தாதியையும், ஆபிரகாமின் ஊழியக்காரனையும், அவன் மனிதரையும் அனுப்புவித்து,

59. So they let Rebekah their sister goe, and her nourse, with Abrahams seruant and his men.

60. ரெபெக்காளை வாழ்த்தி: எங்கள் சகோதரியே, நீ கோடாகோடியாய்ப் பெருகுவாயாக; உன் சந்ததியார் தங்கள் பகைஞருடைய வாசல்களைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்வார்களாக என்று ஆசீர்வதித்தார்கள்.

60. And they blessed Rebekah, and sayde vnto her, Thou art our sister, growe into thousande thousands, and thy seede possesse the gate of his enemies.

61. அப்பொழுது ரெபெக்காளும் அவள் வேலைக்காரிகளும் எழுந்து ஒட்டகங்கள் மேல் ஏறி, அந்த மனிதனோடேகூடப் போனார்கள். ஊழியக்காரன் ரெபெக்காளை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்.

61. Then Rebekah arose, and her maydes, and rode vpon the camels, and followed the man. and the seruant tooke Rebekah, and departed.

62. ஈசாக்கு தென்தேசத்தில் குடியிருந்தான். அப்பொழுது அவன்: லகாய்ரோயீ என்னப்பட்ட துரவின் வழியாய்ப் புறப்பட்டு வந்தான்.

62. Nowe Izhak came from the way of Beer-lahai-roi, (for he dwelt in the South countrey)

63. ஈசாக்கு சாயங்காலவேளையிலே தியானம்பண்ண வெளியிலே போயிருந்து, தன் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்துப்பார்த்தபோது, ஒட்டகங்கள் வரக்கண்டான்.

63. And Izhak went out. to pray in the fielde toward the euening: who lift vp his eyes and looked, and behold, the camels came.

64. ரெபெக்காளும் தன் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்து ஈசாக்கைக் கண்டபோது,

64. Also Rebekah lift vp her eyes, and when she saw Izhak, she lighted downe from the camel.

65. ஊழியக்காரனை நோக்கி: அங்கே வெளியிலே நமக்கு எதிராக நடந்துவருகிற அந்த மனிதன் யார் என்று கேட்டாள். அவர்தான் என் எஜமான் என்று ஊழியக்காரன் சொன்னான். அப்பொழுது அவள் ஒட்டகத்தை விட்டிறங்கி முக்காடிட்டுக்கொண்டாள்.

65. (For shee had sayde to the seruant, Who is yonder man, that commeth in the fielde to meete vs? and the seruant had said, It is my master) So she tooke a vaile, and couered her.

66. ஊழியக்காரன் தான் செய்த சகல காரியங்களையும் ஈசாக்குக்கு விவரித்துச் சொன்னான்.

66. And the seruant tolde Izhak all things, that he had done.

67. அப்பொழுது ஈசாக்கு ரெபெக்காளைத் தன் தாய் சாராளுடைய கூடாரத்துக்கு அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அவளைத் தனக்கு மனைவியாக்கிக்கொண்டு, அவளை நேசித்தான். ஈசாக்கு தன் தாய்க்காகக் கொண்டிருந்த துக்கம் நீங்கி ஆறுதல் அடைந்தான்.

67. Afterward Izhak brought her into the tent of Sarah his mother, and he tooke Rebekah, and she was his wife, and he loued her: So Izhak was comforted after his mothers death.
