1. உன் சகோதரனுடைய மாடாவது ஆடாவது வழிதப்பிப்போகிறதைக் கண்டாயானால், அதைக் காணாதவன்போல் இராமல், அதை உன் சகோதரனிடத்துக்குத் திருப்பிக்கொண்டு போகக்கடவாய்.

1. Suppose you see your neighbor's ox or sheep wandering away. Then don't act as if you didn't see it. Instead, make sure you take it back to him.

2. உன் சகோதரன் உனக்குச் சமீபமாயிராமலும், உனக்கு அறிமுகமாயிராமலும் இருந்தால், நீ அதை உன் வீட்டிற்குக் கொண்டுபோய், அதை உன் சகோதரன் தேடிவருமட்டும் உன்னிடத்திலே வைத்து, அவனுக்குத் திரும்பக் கொடுக்கக்கடவாய்.

2. Your neighbor might not live near you. Or you might not know who he is. Then take the animal home with you. Keep it until he comes looking for it. Then give it back.

3. அப்படியே அவன் கழுதையைக்குறித்தும் செய்யக்கடவாய்; அவன் வஸ்திரத்தைக்குறித்தும் அப்படியே செய்யக்கடவாய்; உன் சகோதரனிடத்திலிருந்து காணாமற்போனவைகளில் எதையாகிலும் கண்டுபிடித்தாயானால் அப்படியே செய்யக்கடவாய்; அவைகளை நீ காணாதவன் போல் விட்டுப்போகலாகாது.

3. Do the same thing if you find his donkey, coat or anything he loses. Don't act as if you didn't see it.

4. உன் சகோதரனுடைய கழுதையாவது அவனுடைய மாடாவது வழியிலே விழுந்துகிடக்கிறதைக் கண்டாயானால், அதைக் காணாதவன்போல விட்டுப்போகாமல், அவனோடேகூட அதைத் தூக்கியெடுத்துவிடுவாயாக.

4. Suppose you see your neighbor's donkey or ox that has fallen down on the road. Then don't act as if you didn't see it. Help him get it up on its feet again.

5. புருஷரின் உடைகளை ஸ்திரீகள் தரிக்கலாகாது, ஸ்திரீகளின் உடைகளைப் புருஷர் தரிக்கலாகாது; அப்படிச் செய்கிறவர்கள் எல்லாரும் உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு அருவருப்பானவர்கள்.

5. A woman must not wear men's clothes. And a man must not wear women's clothes. The Lord your God hates it when anyone does that.

6. வழியருகே ஒரு மரத்திலாவது தரையிலாவது குஞ்சுகளாயினும் முட்டைகளாயினுமுள்ள ஒரு குருவிக்கூடு உனக்குத் தென்படும்போது, தாயானது குஞ்சுகளின் மேலாவது முட்டைகளின் மேலாவது அடைகாத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தால், நீ குஞ்சுகளோடே தாயையும் பிடிக்கலாகாது.

6. Suppose you happen to find a bird's nest beside the road. It might be in a tree or on the ground. And suppose the mother bird is sitting on her little birds or on the eggs. Then don't take the mother along with the little ones.

7. தாயைப் போகவிட்டு, குஞ்சுகளை மாத்திரம் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளலாம்; அப்பொழுது நீ நன்றாயிருப்பாய்; உன் நாட்களும் நீடித்திருக்கும்.

7. You can take the little ones. But make sure you let the mother go. Then things will go well with you. You will live for a long time.

8. நீ புது வீட்டைக் கட்டினால், ஒருவன் உன் மெத்தையிலிருந்து விழுகிறதினாலே, நீ இரத்தப்பழியை உன் வீட்டின்மேல் சுமத்திக்கொள்ளாதபடிக்கு, அதற்குக் கைப்பிடிசுவரைக் கட்டவேண்டும்.

8. If you build a new house, put a low wall around the edge of your roof. Then you won't be held accountable if someone falls off your roof and dies.

9. உன் திராட்சத்தோட்டத்திலே பற்பலவிதமான விதையை விதைக்காயாக; இப்படிச் செய்தால் நீ விதைத்தவைகளின் பயிரையும், திராட்சத்தோட்டத்தின் பலனையும் தீட்டுப்படுத்துவாய்.

9. Don't plant two kinds of seeds in your vineyard. If you do, the crops you grow there will be polluted. Your grapes will also be polluted.

10. மாட்டையும், கழுதையையும் பிணைத்து உழாதிருப்பாயாக.

10. Don't let an ox and a donkey pull the same plow together.

11. ஆட்டுமயிரும் பஞ்சுநூலும் கலந்த வஸ்திரத்தை உடுத்திக்கொள்ளாயாக.

11. Don't wear clothes made of wool and linen that are woven together.

12. நீ தரித்துக்கொள்ளுகிற உன் மேல்சட்டையின் நான்கு ஓரங்களிலும் தொங்கல்களை உண்டுபண்ணுவாயாக.

12. Make tassels on the four corners of the coat you wear.

13. ஒரு ஸ்திரீயை விவாகம்பண்ணின ஒருவன் அவளிடத்தில் பிரவேசித்த பின்பு அவளை வெறுத்து:

13. Suppose a man gets married to a woman and makes love to her. But then he doesn't like her.

14. நான் இந்த ஸ்திரீயை விவாகம்பண்ணி, அவளிடத்தில் சேர்ந்தபோது கன்னிமையைக் காணவில்லை என்று அவள் மேல் ஆவலாதியான விசேஷங்களைச் சாற்றி, அவளுக்கு அவதூறு உண்டாக்கினால்;

14. So he tells lies about her and says she's a bad woman. He says, 'I got married to this woman. But when I made love to her, I discovered she wasn't a virgin.'

15. அந்த ஸ்திரீயின் தகப்பனும் அவள் தாயும் அவளுடைய கன்னிமையின் அடையாளத்தைப் பட்டணத்து வாசலிலுள்ள மூப்பரிடத்தில் கொண்டுவரக்கடவர்கள்.

15. Then the woman's parents must bring proof that she was a virgin. They must give the proof to the elders at the gate of the town.

16. அங்கே அந்தப் பெண்ணின் தகப்பன்: என் மகளை இந்த மனிதனுக்கு மனைவியாகக் கொடுத்தேன், இவன் அவளை வெறுத்து,

16. The woman's father will speak to the elders. He'll say, 'I gave my daughter to this man to be his wife. But he doesn't like her.

17. நான் உன் மகளிடத்தில் கன்னிமையைக் காணவில்லையென்று ஆவலாதியான விசேஷங்களை அவள்மேல் சாற்றுகிறான்; என் மகளுடைய கன்னிமையின் அடையாளம் இங்கே இருக்கிறது என்று மூப்பரிடத்தில் சொல்வானாக; பின்பு பட்டணத்து மூப்பருக்கு முன்பாக அந்த வஸ்திரத்தை விரிக்கக்கடவர்கள்.

17. So now he has told lies about her. He has said, 'I discovered that your daughter wasn't a virgin.' But here's the proof that my daughter was a virgin.' Then her parents will show the elders of the town the cloth that has her blood on it.

18. அப்பொழுது அந்தப் பட்டணத்து மூப்பர் அந்த மனிதனைப் பிடித்து, அவனைத் தண்டித்து,

18. The elders will punish the man.

19. அவன் இஸ்ரவேலில் ஒரு கன்னியை அவதூறுபண்ணினதினாலே, அவன் கையில் நூறு வெள்ளிக்காசை அபராதமாக வாங்கி, பெண்ணின் தகப்பனுக்குக் கொடுக்கக்கடவர்கள்; அவளோ அவனுக்கு மனைவியாயிருக்க வேண்டும்; அவன் தன் ஜீவனுள்ளளவும் அவளைத் தள்ளிவிடக்கூடாது.

19. They'll make him weigh out two and a half pounds of silver. They'll give it to the woman's father. That's because the man has said an Israelite virgin is a bad woman. She will continue to be his wife. He must not divorce her as long as he lives.

20. அந்தப் பெண்ணிடத்தில் கன்னிமை காணப்படவில்லையென்னும் சங்கதி மெய்ப்பட்டதேயானால்,

20. But suppose the charge is true. And there isn't any proof that the woman was a virgin.

21. அந்தப் பெண்ணை அவள் தகப்பனுடைய வீட்டுவாசலுக்கு முன்பாகக் கொண்டுவந்து, அவள் இஸ்ரவேலில் மதிகெட்ட காரியத்தைச் செய்து, தன் தகப்பன் வீட்டிலே வேசித்தனம்பண்ணினபடியினாலே, அவளுடைய பட்டணத்து மனிதர் அவளைக் கல்லெறிந்து கொல்லக்கடவர்கள்; இப்படியே தீமையை உன் நடுவிலிருந்து விலக்கக்கடவாய்.

21. Then she must be brought to the door of her father's house. There the people of her town will put her to death by throwing stones at her. She has done a very terrible thing in Israel. She has had sex before she got married. Get rid of that evil person.

22. புருஷனுக்கு விவாகம்பண்ணப்பட்ட ஸ்திரீயோடே ஒருவன் சயனிக்கக் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டால், அந்த ஸ்திரீயோடே சயனித்த மனிதனும் அந்த ஸ்திரீயும் இருவரும் சாகவேண்டும்; இப்படியே தீமையை இஸ்ரவேலிலிருந்து விலக்கக்கடவாய்.

22. Suppose a man is seen having sex with another man's wife. Then the man and the woman must both die. Get rid of those evil people.

23. கன்னிகையான ஒரு பெண் ஒருவனுக்கு நியமிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கையில், மற்றொருவன் அவளை ஊருக்குள்ளே கண்டு, அவளோடே சயனித்தால்,

23. Suppose a man happens to see a virgin in a town. And she has promised to get married to another man. But the man who happens to see her has sex with her.

24. அப்பொழுது அந்தப் பெண் ஊருக்குள்ளிருந்தும் கூக்குரலிடாததினாலும், அந்த மனிதன் பிறனுடைய மனைவியைக் கற்பழித்தபடியினாலும், இருவரையும் அந்தப் பட்டணத்து வாசலுக்குமுன் கொண்டுபோய், அவர்கள்மேல் கல்லெறிந்து கொல்லக்கடவீர்கள்; இப்படியே தீமையை உன் நடுவிலிருந்து விலக்கக்கடவாய்.

24. Then you must take both of them to the gate of that town. You must put them to death by throwing stones at them. You must kill the woman because she was in a town and didn't scream for help. And you must kill the man because he had sex with another man's wife. Get rid of those evil people.

25. ஒருவனுக்கு நியமிக்கப்பட்ட பெண்ணை வெளியிலே ஒருவன் கண்டு, அவளைப் பலவந்தமாய்ப் பிடித்து, அவளோடே சயனித்தானேயாகில், அவளோடே சயனித்த மனிதன் மாத்திரம் சாகக்கடவன்.

25. But suppose a man happens to see a woman out in the country. And she has promised to marry another man. But the man who happens to see her rapes her. Then only the man who has done that will die.

26. பெண்ணுக்கு ஒன்றும் செய்யலாகாது; பெண்ணின்மேல் சாவுக்கு ஏதுவான குற்றம் இல்லை; இக்காரியம் ஒருவன் மற்றொருவன்மேல் எழும்பி அவனுடைய ஜீவனை வாங்கினதுபோல இருக்கிறது.

26. Don't do anything to the woman. She hasn't committed a sin that is worthy of death. That case is like the case of someone who attacks and murders his neighbor.

27. வெளியிலே அவன் அவளைக் கண்டுபிடித்தான்; நியமிக்கப்பட்ட பெண் அப்பொழுது கூக்குரலிட்டும் அவளைக் காப்பாற்றுவார் இல்லாமற்போயிற்று.

27. The man found the woman out in the country. And she screamed. But there wasn't anyone around who could save her.

28. நியமிக்கப்படாத கன்னியாஸ்திரீயாகிய ஒரு பெண்ணை ஒருவன் கண்டு, கையைப் பிடித்து அவளோடே சயனிக்கையில், அவர்கள் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டால்,

28. Suppose a man happens to see a virgin who hasn't promised to marry another man. And the man who happens to see her rapes her. But someone discovers them.

29. அவளோடே சயனித்த மனிதன் பெண்ணின் தகப்பனுக்கு ஐம்பது வெள்ளிக்காசைக் கொடுக்கக்கடவன்; அவன் அவளைக் கற்பழித்தபடியினால், அவள் அவனுக்கு மனைவியாயிருக்கவேண்டும்; அவன் உயிரோடிருக்குமளவும் அவளைத் தள்ளிவிடக்கூடாது.

29. Then the man must weigh out 20 ounces of silver. He must give it to the woman's father. The man must marry the woman, because he raped her. And he can never divorce her as long as he lives.

30. ஒருவனும் தன் தகப்பனுடைய மனைவியைச் சேரலாகாது; தன் தகப்பன் மானத்தை அவன் வெளிப்படுத்தலாகாது.

30. A man must not get married to his stepmother. He must not bring shame on his father by having sex with her.
