1. பின்னும் கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

1. And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

2. நீ இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் சபை அனைத்தோடும் சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்: உங்கள் தேவனும் கர்த்தருமாகிய நான் பரிசுத்தர், ஆகையால் நீங்களும் பரிசுத்தராயிருங்கள்.

2. 'Speak unto all the company of the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, Ye are holy, for holy [am] I, Jehovah, your God.

3. உங்களில் அவனவன் தன்தன் தாய்க்கும் தன்தன் தகப்பனுக்கும் பயந்திருக்கவும், என் ஓய்வு நாட்களை ஆசரிக்கவும்கடவீர்கள்; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

3. 'Each his mother and his father ye do fear, and My sabbaths ye do keep; I [am] Jehovah your God.

4. விக்கிரகங்களை நாடாமலும், வார்ப்பிக்கப்பட்ட தெய்வங்களை உங்களுக்கு உண்டாக்காமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

4. 'Ye do not turn unto the idols, and a molten god ye do not make to yourselves; I [am] Jehovah your God.

5. நீங்கள் சமாதானபலியைக் கர்த்தருக்குச் செலுத்தினால், அதை மனோற்சாகமாய்ச் செலுத்துங்கள்.

5. 'And when ye sacrifice a sacrifice of peace-offerings to Jehovah, at your pleasure ye do sacrifice it;

6. நீங்கள் அதைச் செலுத்துகிற நாளிலும் மறுநாளிலும் அதைப் புசிக்கவேண்டும்; மூன்றாம் நாள்மட்டும் மீதியானது அக்கினியிலே சுட்டெரிக்கப்படக்கடவது.

6. in the day of your sacrificing it is eaten, and on the morrow, and that which is left unto the third day with fire is burnt,

7. மூன்றாம் நாளில் அதில் ஏதாகிலும் புசிக்கப்பட்டால் அருவருப்பாயிருக்கும்; அது அங்கிகரிக்கப்படமாட்டாது.

7. and if it be really eaten on the third day, it [is] an abomination, it is not pleasing,

8. அதைப் புசிக்கிறவன் கர்த்தருக்குப் பரிசுத்தமானதைப் பரிசுத்தக்குலைச்சலாக்கினபடியால் அவன் தன் அக்கிரமத்தைச் சுமந்து, தன் ஜனத்தில் இராதபடிக்கு அறுப்புண்டுபோவான்.

8. and he who is eating it his iniquity doth bear, for the holy thing of Jehovah he hath polluted, and that person hath been cut off from his people.

9. நீங்கள் தேசத்தின் பயிரை அறுக்கும்போது, உன் வயலின் ஓரத்திலிருக்கிறதைத் தீர அறுக்காமலும், சிந்திக்கிடக்கிற கதிர்களைப் பொறுக்காமலும்,

9. 'And in your reaping the harvest of your land ye do not completely reap the corner of thy field, and the gleaning of thy harvest thou dost not gather,

10. உன் திராட்சத்தோட்டத்திலே பின் அறுப்பை அறுக்காமலும், அதிலே சிந்திக்கிடக்கிற பழங்களைப் பொறுக்காமலும், அவைகளை எளியவனுக்கும் பரதேசிக்கும் விட்டுவிடுவாயாக; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

10. and thy vineyard thou dost not glean, even the omitted part of thy vineyard thou dost not gather, to the poor and to the sojourner thou dost leave them; I [am] Jehovah your God.

11. நீங்கள் களவுசெய்யாமலும், வஞ்சனைபண்ணாமலும், ஒருவருக்கொருவர் பொய் சொல்லாமலும் இருங்கள்.

11. 'Ye do not steal, nor feign, nor lie one against his fellow.

12. என் நாமத்தைக்கொண்டு பொய்யாணையிடுகிறதினால், உங்கள் தேவனுடைய நாமத்தைப் பரிசுத்தக்குலைச்சலாக்காமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.

12. 'And ye do not swear by My name to falsehood, or thou hast polluted the name of thy God; I [am] Jehovah.

13. பிறனை ஒடுக்காமலும் கொள்ளையிடாமலும் இருப்பாயாக; கூலிக்காரனுடைய கூலி விடியற்காலம்மட்டும் உன்னிடத்தில் இருக்கலாகாது.

13. 'Thou dost not oppress thy neighbour, nor take plunder; the wages of the hireling doth not remain with thee till morning.

14. செவிடனை நிந்தியாமலும், குருடனுக்கு முன்னே தடுக்கலை வையாமலும், உன் தேவனுக்குப் பயந்திருப்பாயாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.

14. 'Thou dost not revile the deaf; and before the blind thou dost not put a stumbling block; and thou hast been afraid of thy God; I [am] Jehovah.

15. நியாயவிசாரணையில் அநியாயம் செய்யாதிருங்கள்; சிறியவனுக்கு முகதாட்சிணியம் செய்யாமலும், பெரியவனுடைய முகத்துக்கு அஞ்சாமலும், நீதியாகப் பிறனுக்கு நியாயந்தீர்ப்பாயாக.

15. 'Ye do not do perversity in judgment; thou dost not lift up the face of the poor, nor honour the face of the great; in righteousness thou dost judge thy fellow.

16. உன் ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே அங்குமிங்கும் கோள்சொல்லித் திரியாயாக; பிறனுடைய இரத்தப்பழிக்கு உட்படவேண்டாம்; நான் கர்த்தர்.

16. 'Thou dost not go slandering among thy people; thou dost not stand against the blood of thy neighbour; I [am] Jehovah.

17. உன் சகோதரனை உன் உள்ளத்தில் பகையாயாக; பிறன்மேல் பாவம் சுமராதபடிக்கு அவனை எப்படியும் கடிந்து கொள்ளவேண்டும்.

17. 'Thou dost not hate thy brother in thy heart; thou dost certainly reprove thy fellow, and not suffer sin on him.

18. 'Thou dost not take vengeance, nor watch the sons of thy people; and thou hast had love to thy neighbour as thyself; I [am] Jehovah.

19. என் கட்டளைகளைக் கைக்கொள்வீர்களாக; உன் மிருகஜீவன்களை வேறு ஜாதியோடே பொலியவிடாயாக; உன் வயலிலே வெவ்வேறு வகையான விதைகளைக் கலந்து விதையாயாக; சணல்நூலும் கம்பளிநூலும் கலந்த வஸ்திரத்தை உடுத்தாதிருப்பாயாக.

19. 'My statutes ye do keep: thy cattle thou dost not cause to gender [with] diverse kinds; thy field thou dost not sow with diverse kinds, and a garment of diverse kinds, shaatnez, doth not go up upon thee.

20. ஒருவனுக்கு அடிமையானவள் ஒரு புருஷனுக்கு நியமிக்கப்பட்டவளாயிருந்து, முற்றிலும் மீட்கப்படாமலும் தன்னிச்சையாய் விடப்படாமலுமிருக்க, அவளோடே ஒருவன் சம்யோகமாய்ச் சயனம்பண்ணினால், அவர்கள் கொலை செய்யப்படாமல், அடிக்கப்படவேண்டும்; அவள் சுயாதீனமுள்ளவள் அல்ல.

20. 'And when a man lieth with a woman with seed of copulation, and she a maid-servant, betrothed to a man, and not really ransomed, or freedom hath not been given to her, an investigation there is; they are not put to death, for she [is] not free.

21. அவன் தன் குற்றநிவாரணபலியாய் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரவாசலிலே கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் ஒரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவைக் கொண்டுவரக்கடவன்.

21. 'And he hath brought in his guilt-offering to Jehovah, unto the opening of the tent of meeting, a ram [for] a guilt-offering,

22. அதினாலே ஆசாரியன் அவன் செய்த பாவத்தினிமித்தம் அவனுக்காகக் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் பாவநிவிர்த்தி செய்யக்கடவன்; அப்பொழுது அவன் செய்த பாவம் அவனுக்கு மன்னிக்கப்படும்.

22. and the priest hath made atonement for him with the ram of the guilt-offering before Jehovah, for his sin which he hath sinned, and it hath been forgiven him because of his sin which he hath sinned.

23. நீங்கள் அந்த தேசத்தில் வந்து, புசிக்கத்தக்க கனிகளைத் தருகிற பலவித மரங்களை நாட்டினபின்பு அவைகளின் கனிகளை விருத்தசேதனமில்லாதவைகளென்று எண்ணுவீர்களாக; மூன்று வருஷம் அது புசிக்கப்படாமல், விருத்தசேதனமில்லாததாய் உங்களுக்கு எண்ணப்படவேண்டும்.

23. 'And when ye come in unto the land, and have planted all [kinds] of trees [for] food, then ye have reckoned as uncircumcised its fruit, three years it is to you uncircumcised, it is not eaten,

24. பின்பு நாலாம் வருஷத்திலே அவைகளின் கனிகளெல்லாம் கர்த்தருக்குத் துதிசெலுத்துகிறதற்கேற்ற பரிசுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.

24. and in the fourth year all its fruit is holy -- praises for Jehovah.

25. ஐந்தாம் வருஷத்திலே அவைகளின் கனிகளைப் புசிக்கலாம்; இப்படி அவைகளின் பலன் உங்களுக்குப் பெருகும்; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

25. And in the fifth year ye do eat its fruit -- to add to you its increase; I [am] Jehovah your God.

26. யாதொன்றையும் இரத்தத்துடன் புசிக்கவேண்டாம். குறிகேளாமலும், நாள்பாராமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக.

26. 'Ye do not eat with the blood; ye do not enchant, nor observe clouds.

27. உங்கள் தலைமயிரைச் சுற்றி ஒதுக்காமலும், தாடியின் ஓரங்களைக் கத்தரிக்காமலும்,

27. 'Ye do not round the corner of your head, nor destroy the corner of thy beard.

28. செத்தவனுக்காக உங்கள் சரீரத்தைக் கீறிக்கொள்ளாமலும், அடையாளமான எழுத்துக்களை உங்கள்மேல் குத்திக்கொள்ளாமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.

28. 'And a cutting for the soul ye do not put in your flesh; and a writing, a cross-mark, ye do not put on you; I [am] Jehovah.

29. தேசத்தார் வேசித்தனம்பண்ணி தேசமெங்கும் முறைகேடான பாவம் நிறையாதபடிக்கு உன் குமாரத்தியை வேசித்தனம்பண்ண விடுகிறதினாலே பரிசுத்தக் குலைச்சலாக்காயாக.

29. 'Thou dost not pollute thy daughter to cause her to go a-whoring, that the land go not a-whoring, and the land hath been full of wickedness.

30. என் ஓய்வுநாட்களை ஆசரித்து, என் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தைக்குறித்துப் பயபக்தியாயிருப்பீர்களாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.

30. 'My sabbaths ye do keep, and My sanctuary ye do reverence; I [am] Jehovah.

31. அஞ்சனம் பார்க்கிறவர்களை நாடி, குறிசொல்லுகிறவர்களைத் தேடாதிருங்கள்; அவர்களாலே தீட்டுப்படவேண்டாம்; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

31. 'Ye do not turn unto those having familiar spirits; and unto wizards ye do not seek, for uncleanness by them; I [am] Jehovah your God.

32. நரைத்தவனுக்கு முன்பாக எழுந்து, முதிர்வயதுள்ளவன் முகத்தைக் கனம்பண்ணி, உன் தேவனுக்குப் பயப்படுவாயாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.

32. 'At the presence of grey hairs thou dost rise up, and thou hast honoured the presence of an old man, and hast been afraid of thy God; I [am] Jehovah.

33. யாதொரு அந்நியன் உங்கள் தேசத்தில் உங்களோடே தங்கினால், அவனைச் சிறுமைப்படுத்தவேண்டாம்.

33. 'And when a sojourner sojourneth with thee in your land, thou dost not oppress him;

34. உங்களிடத்தில் வாசம்பண்ணுகிற அந்நியனைச் சுதேசிபோல எண்ணி, நீங்கள் உங்களில் அன்புகூருகிறதுபோல அவனிலும் அன்புகூருவீர்களாக; நீங்களும் எகிப்துதேசத்தில் அந்நியராயிருந்தீர்களே; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

34. as a native among you is the sojourner to you who is sojourning with you, and thou hast had love to him as to thyself, for sojourners ye have been in the land of Egypt; I [am] Jehovah your God.

35. நியாயவிசாரணையிலும், அளவிலும், நிறையிலும், படியிலும் அநியாயம் செய்யாதிருப்பீர்களாக.

35. 'Ye do not do perversity in judgment, in mete-yard, in weight, or in liquid measure;

36. சுமுத்திரையான தராசும், சுமுத்திரையான நிறைகல்லும், சுமுத்திரையான மரக்காலும், சுமுத்திரையான படியும் உங்களுக்கு இருக்கவேண்டும்; நான் உங்களை எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணின உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

36. righteous balances, righteous weights, a righteous ephah, and a righteous hin ye have; I [am] Jehovah your God, who hath brought you out from the land of Egypt;

37. ஆகையால் என்னுடைய கட்டளைகள் யாவையும் என்னுடைய நியாயங்கள் யாவையும் கைக்கொண்டு, அவைகளின்படி நடக்கக்கடவீர்கள்; நான் கர்த்தர் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

37. and ye have observed all my statutes, and all my judgments, and have done them; I [am] Jehovah.'
