1. அப்பொழுது யோபு கர்த்தருக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக:

1. THEN JOB said to the Lord,

2. தேவரீர் சகலத்தையும் செய்ய வல்லவர்; நீர் செய்ய நினைத்தது தடைபடாது என்பதை அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்.
மத்தேயு 19:26, மாற்கு 10:27

2. I know that You can do all things, and that no thought or purpose of Yours can be restrained or thwarted.

3. அறிவில்லாமல் ஆலோசனையை மறைக்கிற இவன் யார்? ஆகையால் நான் எனக்குத் தெரியாததையும், என் புத்திக்கு எட்டாததையும், நான் அறியாததையும் அலப்பினேன் என்கிறேன்.

3. [You said to me] Who is this that darkens and obscures counsel [by words] without knowledge? Therefore [I now see] I have [rashly] uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know. [Job 38:2.]

4. நீர் எனக்குச் செவிகொடும், அப்பொழுது நான் பேசுவேன்; நான் உம்மைக் கேள்விகேட்பேன், நீர் எனக்கு உத்தரவு சொல்லும்.

4. [I had virtually said to You what You have said to me:] Hear, I beseech You, and I will speak; I will demand of You, and You declare to me.

5. என் காதினால் உம்மைக்குறித்துக் கேள்விப்பட்டேன்; இப்பொழுதோ என் கண் உம்மைக் காண்கிறது.

5. I had heard of You [only] by the hearing of the ear, but now my [spiritual] eye sees You.

6. ஆகையால் நான் என்னை அருவருத்து, தூளிலும் சாம்பலிலும் இருந்து மனஸ்தாபப்படுகிறேன் என்றான்.

6. Therefore I loathe [my words] and abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes.

7. கர்த்தர் இந்த வார்த்தைகளை யோபோடே பேசினபின், கர்த்தர் தேமானியனான எலிப்பாசை நோக்கி: உன்மேலும் உன் இரண்டு சிநேகிதர்மேலும் எனக்குக் கோபம் மூளுகிறது; என் தாசனாகிய யோபு பேசினதுபோல், நீங்கள் என்னைக்குறித்து நிதானமாய்ப் பேசவில்லை.

7. After the Lord had spoken the previous words to Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against you and against your two friends, for you have not spoken of Me the thing that is right, as My servant Job has.

8. ஆதலால் நீங்கள் ஏழு காளைகளையும், ஏழு ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, என் தாசனாகிய யோபினிடத்தில் போய், உங்களுக்காகச் சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளை இடுங்கள்; என் தாசனாகிய யோபும் உங்களுக்காக வேண்டுதல் செய்வான்; நான் அவன் முகத்தைப் பார்த்து, உங்களை உங்கள் புத்தியீனத்துக்குத்தக்கதாக நடத்தாதிருப்பேன்; என் தாசனாகிய யோபு பேசினதுபோல், நீங்கள் என்னைக்குறித்து நிதானமாய்ப் பேசவில்லை என்றார்.

8. Now therefore take seven bullocks and seven rams and go to My servant Job and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and My servant Job shall pray for you, for I will accept [his prayer] that I deal not with you after your folly, in that you have not spoken of Me the thing that is right, as My servant Job has.

9. அப்பொழுது தேமானியனான எலிப்பாசும் சூகியனான பில்தாதும் நாகமாத்தியனான சோப்பாரும்போய், கர்த்தர் தங்களுக்குச் சொன்னபடியே செய்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் யோபின் முகத்தைப் பார்த்தார்.

9. So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the Lord commanded them; and the Lord accepted [Job's prayer].

10. யோபு தன் சிநேகிதருக்காக வேண்டுதல் செய்தபோது, கர்த்தர் அவன் சிறையிருப்பை மாற்றினார். யோபுக்கு முன் இருந்த எல்லாவற்றைப்பார்க்கிலும் இரண்டத்தனையாய்க் கர்த்தர் அவனுக்குத் தந்தருளினார்.

10. And the Lord turned the captivity of Job and restored his fortunes, when he prayed for his friends; also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. [Deut. 30:1-3; Ps. 126:1, 2.]

11. அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய எல்லாச் சகோதரரும் சகோதரிகளும், முன் அவனுக்கு அறிமுகமான அனைவரும் அவனிடத்தில் வந்து, அவன் வீட்டிலே அவனோடே போஜனம்பண்ணி, கர்த்தர் அவன்மேல் வரப்பண்ணின சகல தீங்கினிமித்தம் அவனுக்காக அங்கலாய்த்து, அவனுக்கு ஆறுதல் சொல்லி, அவரவர் ஒவ்வொரு தங்கக்காசையும், அவரவர் ஒவ்வொரு பொன் ஆபரணத்தையும் அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்கள்.

11. Then there came to him all his brothers and sisters and all who had known him before, and they ate bread with him in his house; and they sympathized with him and comforted him over all the [distressing] calamities that the Lord had brought upon him. Every man also gave him a piece of money, and every man an earring of gold.

12. கர்த்தர் யோபின் முன்னிலைமையைப் பார்க்கிலும் அவன் பின்னிலைமையை ஆசீர்வதித்தார்; பதினாலாயிரம் ஆடுகளும், ஆறாயிரம் ஒட்டகங்களும், ஆயிரம் ஏர்மாடுகளும், ஆயிரம் கழுதைகளும் அவனுக்கு உண்டாயின.

12. And the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 yoke of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys. [Job 1:3.]

13. ஏழு குமாரரும், மூன்று குமாரத்திகளும் அவனுக்குப் பிறந்தார்கள்.

13. He had also seven sons and three daughters.

14. மூத்த மகளுக்கு எமீமாள் என்றும், இரண்டாம் மகளுக்குக் கெத்சீயாள் என்றும், மூன்றாம் மகளுக்குக் கேரேனாப்புக் என்றும் பேரிட்டான்.

14. And he called the name of the first Jemimah, and the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-happuch.

15. தேசத்தில் எங்கும் யோபின் குமாரத்திகளைப்போல் செளந்தரியமான பெண்கள் காணப்படவில்லை; அவர்கள் தகப்பன் அவர்கள் சகோதரரின் நடுவிலே அவர்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரம் கொடுத்தான்.

15. And in all the land there were no women so fair as the daughters of Job, and their father gave them inheritance among their brothers.

16. இதற்குப்பின்பு யோபு நூற்று நாற்பது வருஷம் உயிரோடிருந்து, நாலு தலைமுறையாகத் தன் பிள்ளைகளையும் தன் பிள்ளைகளுடைய பிள்ளைகளையும் கண்டான்.

16. After this, Job lived 140 years, and saw his sons and his sons' sons, even to four generations.

17. யோபு நெடுநாளிருந்து, பூரண வயதுள்ளவனாய் மரித்தான்.

17. So Job died, an old man and full of days. [James 5:11.]
