1. இதினால் என் இருதயம் தத்தளித்து, தன்னிடத்தைவிட்டுத் தெறிக்கிறது.

1. Aye, my heart trembleth at this also, and leapeth up out of its place:

2. அவருடைய சத்தத்தினால் உண்டாகிற அதிர்ச்சியையும், அவர் வாயிலிருந்து புறப்படுகிற முழக்கத்தையும் கவனமாய்க் கேளுங்கள்.

2. Hear attentively the roar of his voice, and the murmur going forth from his mouth.

3. அவர் வானத்தின் கீழெங்கும் அந்தத் தொனியையும், பூமியின் கடையாந்தரங்கள்மேல் அதின் மின்னலையும் செல்லவிடுகிறார்.

3. He sendeth it forth under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

4. அதற்குப்பின்பு அவர் சத்தமாய் முழங்கி, தம்முடைய மகத்துவத்தின் சத்தத்தைக் குமுறப்பண்ணுகிறார்; அவருடைய சத்தம் கேட்கப்படும்போது அதைத் தவிர்க்கமுடியாது.

4. After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency, and holdeth not back the flashes when his voice is heard.

5. தேவன் தம்முடைய சத்தத்தை ஆச்சரியமானவிதமாய்க் குமுறப்பண்ணுகிறார்; நாம் கிரகிக்கக்கூடாத பெரிய காரியங்களை அவர் செய்கிறார்.

5. *God thundereth marvellously with his voice, doing great things which we do not comprehend.

6. அவர் உறைந்த மழையையும், கல்மழையையும், தம்முடைய வல்லமையின் பெருமழையையும் பார்த்து: பூமியின்மேல் பெய்யுங்கள் என்று கட்டளையிடுகிறார்.

6. For he saith to the snow, Fall on the earth! and to the pouring rain, even the pouring rains of his might.

7. தாம் உண்டாக்கின சகல மனுஷரும் தம்மை அறியும்படிக்கு, அவர் சகல மனுஷருடைய கையையும் முத்திரித்துப்போடுகிறார்.

7. He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.

8. அப்பொழுது காட்டுமிருகங்கள் தங்கள் குகைகளில் புகுந்து, தங்கள் கெபிகளில் தங்கும்.

8. And the wild beast goeth into its lair, and they remain in their dens.

9. தெற்கேயிருந்து சூறாவளியும், வடகாற்றினால் குளிரும் வரும்.

9. From the chamber [of the south] cometh the whirlwind; and cold from the winds of the north.

10. தம்முடைய சுவாசத்தினால் தேவன் குளிரைக் கொடுக்கிறார்; அப்பொழுது ஜலத்தின் மேற்பரப்பானது உறைந்துபோகும்.

10. By the breath of *God ice is given; and the breadth of the waters is straitened.

11. அவர் நீர்த்துளிகளை மேகத்தில் ஏற்றி, மின்னலினால் மேகத்தைச் சிதறப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

11. Also with plentiful moisture he loadeth the thick clouds, his light dispels the cloud;

12. அவர் அவைகளுக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிற யாவையும், அவைகள் பூச்சக்கரத்தில் நடப்பிக்கும்படி, அவர் அவைகளைத் தம்முடைய ஞான ஆலோசனைகளின்படியே சுற்றித் திரியப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

12. And they are turned every way by his guidance, that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the circuit of the earth,

13. ஒன்றில் தண்டனையாகவும், ஒன்றில் தம்முடைய பூமிக்கு உபயோகமாகவும், ஒன்றில் கிருபையாகவும், அவைகளை வரப்பண்ணுகிறார்.

13. Whether he cause it to come as a rod, or for his land, or in mercy.

14. யோபே, இதற்குச் செவிகொடும்; தரித்துநின்று தேவனுடைய ஆச்சரியமான கிரியைகளைத் தியானித்துப்பாரும்.

14. Hearken unto this, Job; stand still and discern the wondrous works of *God.

15. தேவன் அவைகளைத் திட்டம்பண்ணி, தம்முடைய மேகத்தின் மின்னலைப் பிரகாசிக்கப்பண்ணும் விதத்தை அறிவீரோ?

15. Dost thou know how +God hath disposed them, and how he causeth the lightning of his cloud to flash?

16. மேகங்கள் தொங்கும்படி வைக்கும் நிறையையும், பூரண ஞானமுள்ளவரின் அற்புதமான செய்கைகளையும்,

16. Dost thou know about the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him that is perfect in knowledge?

17. தென்றலினால் அவர் பூமியை அமையப்பண்ணும்போது, உம்முடைய வஸ்திரங்கள் உஷ்ணமாயிருக்கும் வகையையும் அறிவீரோ?

17. How thy garments become warm when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?

18. வார்க்கப்பட்ட கண்ணாடியைப்போல் கெட்டியான ஆகாயமண்டலங்களை நீர் அவரோடேகூட இருந்து விரித்தீரோ?

18. Hast thou with him spread out the sky, firm, like a molten mirror?

19. அவருக்கு நாம் சொல்லத்தக்கதை எங்களுக்குப் போதியும்; அந்தகாரத்தினிமித்தம் முறைதப்பிப் பேசுகிறோம்.

19. Teach us what we shall say unto him! We cannot order [our words] by reason of darkness.

20. நான் பேசத்துணிந்தேன் என்று யாதாமொருவன் அவருக்கு முன்பாகச் சொல்லத்தகுமோ? ஒருவன் பேசத்துணிந்தால் அவன் விழுங்கப்பட்டுப்போவானே.

20. Shall it be told him if I would speak? if a man [so] say, surely he shall be swallowed up.

21. இப்போதும் காற்று வீசி ஆகாய மண்டலங்களிலுள்ள மப்பு நீங்கப்பண்ணியிருக்கிறசமயத்தில் வடக்கேயிருந்து பொன்மயமான காந்தி வருகிறபோது,

21. And now [men] see not the light as it gleameth, it is [hidden] in the skies. But the wind passeth by and cleareth them.

22. ஆகாயமண்டலத்திலே பிரகாசிக்கிற சூரியனை முதலாய் ஒருவரும் நோக்கிப் பார்க்கக்கூடாதே; தேவனிடத்திலோ பயங்கரமான மகத்துவமுண்டு.

22. From the north cometh gold; with +God is terrible majesty.

23. சர்வவல்லவரை நாம் கண்டுபிடிக்கக்கூடாது; அவர் வல்லமையிலும் நியாயத்திலும் பெருத்தவர்; அவர் மகா நீதிபரர்; அவர் ஒடுக்கமாட்டார்.

23. The Almighty, we cannot find him out: excellent in power, and in judgment, and in abundance of justice, he doth not afflict.

24. ஆகையால் மனுஷர் அவருக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டும்; தங்கள் எண்ணத்தில் ஞானிகளாயிருக்கிற எவர்களையும் அவர் மதிக்கமாட்டார் என்றான்.

24. Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
