1. பின்னும் யோபு தன் பிரசங்க வாக்கியத்தைத் தொடர்ந்து சொன்னது:

1. So Iob proceeded and went foorth in his parable, saying:

2. சென்றுபோன மாதங்களிலும், தேவன் என்னைக் காப்பாற்றிவந்த நாட்களிலும் எனக்கு உண்டாயிருந்த சீர் இப்பொழுது இருந்தால் நலமாயிருக்கும்.

2. O that I were as I was in the monethes by past, and in the daies when God preserued me:

3. அப்பொழுது அவர் தீபம் என்தலையின்மேல் பிரகாசித்தது; அவர் அருளின வெளிச்சத்தினால் இருளைக் கடந்துபோனேன்.

3. When his light shined vpon my head, when I went after the same light and shining, euen through the darknesse:

4. தேவனுடைய இரகசியச்செயல் என் கூடாரத்தின்மேல் இருந்தது.

4. As it stoode with me when I was young, when God prospered my house:

5. அப்பொழுது சர்வவல்லவர் என்னோடிருந்தார்; என் பிள்ளைகள் என்னைச் சூழ்ந்திருந்தார்கள்.

5. When the almightie was yet with me, when my children stoode about me:

6. என் பாதங்களை நான் நெய்யினால் கழுவினேன்; கன்மலைகளிலிருந்து எனக்காக எண்ணெய் நதிபோல ஓடிவந்தது; அந்தச் செல்வநாட்களின் சீர் இப்போதிருந்தால் நலமாயிருக்கும்.

6. When my wayes ranne ouer with butter, and when the stonie rockes gaue me riuers of oyle:

7. நான் பட்டணவீதியால் வாசலுக்குள் புறப்பட்டுப்போய், வீதியில் என் ஆசனத்தைப் போடும்போது,

7. When I went out to the gate, euen to the iudgement seate, and when I prepared my seate in the streete:

8. வாலிபர் என்னைக் கண்டு ஒளித்துக்கொள்வார்கள்; முதியோர் எழுந்திருந்து நிற்பார்கள்.

8. The young men saw me and hid them selues, and the aged arose, and stoode vp.

9. பிரபுக்கள் பேசுகிறதை நிறுத்தி, கையினால் தங்கள் வாயைப் பொத்திக்கொள்வார்கள்.

9. The princes left of their talking, and layed their hand to their mouth:

10. பெரியோரின் சத்தம் அடங்கி, அவர்கள் நாக்கு அவர்கள் மேல்வாயோடு ஒட்டிக்கொள்ளும்.

10. The mightie kept still their voyce, and their tongue cleaued to the roofe of their mouth.

11. என்னைக் கேட்ட காது என்னைப் பாக்கியவான் என்றது; என்னைக் கண்ட கண் எனக்குச் சாட்சியிட்டது.

11. When the eare heard me, it blessed me: & when the eye sawe me, it gaue witnesse to me:

12. முறையிடுகிற ஏழையையும், திக்கற்ற பிள்ளையையும், உதவியற்றவனையும் இரட்சித்தேன்.

12. For I deliuered the poore when he cryed, and the fatherlesse, and hym that had none to helpe hym.

13. கெட்டுப்போக இருந்தவனுடைய ஆசீர்வாதம் என்மேல் வந்தது; விதவையின் இருதயத்தைக் கெம்பீரிக்கப்பண்ணினேன்.

13. The blessing of him that was redy to perishe came vpon me, and I caused the widowes heart to reioyce.

14. நீதியைத் தரித்துக்கொண்டேன்; அது என் உடுப்பாயிருந்தது; என் நியாயம் எனக்குச் சால்வையும் பாகையுமாய் இருந்தது.

14. And why? I put vpon me righteousnesse, which couered me as a garment, and equitie was my crowne.

15. நான் குருடனுக்குக் கண்ணும், சப்பாணிக்குக் காலுமாயிருந்தேன்.

15. I was an eye to the blinde, and a foote to the lame.

16. நான் எளியவர்களுக்குத் தகப்பனாயிருந்து, நான் அறியாத வழக்கை ஆராய்ந்துபார்த்தேன்.

16. I was a father to the poore: and when I knewe not the cause, I sought it out diligently.

17. நான் அநியாயக்காரருடைய கடைவாய்ப் பற்களை உடைத்து, அவர்கள் பறித்ததை அவர்கள் பற்களிலிருந்து பிடுங்கினேன்.

17. I brake the iawes of the vnrighteous man, and pluckt the spoyle out of his teeth.

18. என் கூட்டிலே நான் ஜீவித்துப் போவேன்; என் நாட்களை மணலத்தனையாய்ப் பெருகப்பண்ணுவேன் என்றேன்.

18. Then I sayde, I shall die in my nest: and I shall multiplie my dayes as the sande.

19. என் வேர் தண்ணீர்களின் ஓரமாய்ப் படர்ந்தது; என் கிளையின்மேல் பனி இராமுழுவதும் தங்கியிருந்தது.

19. For my roote was spread out by the waterside: and the deawe lay vpon my corne.

20. என் மகிமை என்னில் செழித்தோங்கி, என் கையிலுள்ள என் வில் புதுப்பெலன் கொண்டது.

20. Myne honour encreased more and more, & my bow was euer the stronger in my hande.

21. எனக்குச் செவிகொடுத்துக் காத்திருந்தார்கள்; என் ஆலோசனையைக் கேட்டு மவுனமாயிருந்தார்கள்.

21. Unto me men gaue eare, me they regarded, and with scilence they taried for my counsell.

22. என் பேச்சுக்குப் பேசாமலிருந்தார்கள்; என் வசனம் அவர்கள்மேல் துளிதுளியாய் விழுந்தது.

22. After my woordes they replied not, and my talke dropped vpon them.

23. மழைக்குக் காத்திருக்கிறதுபோல் எனக்குக் காத்திருந்து, பின் மாரிக்கு ஆசையுள்ளவர்கள்போல் தங்கள் வாயை ஆவென்று திறந்திருந்தார்கள்.

23. They wayted for me as for the raine: and gaped vpon me, as [the grounde doeth to receaue] the latter shoure.

24. நான் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து நகைக்கும்போது, அவர்கள் துணிகரங்கொள்ளவில்லை; என் முகக்களையை மாறச்செய்யவும் இல்லை.

24. When I laughed, they beleued it not, & the light of my countenaunce would they not put out.

25. அவர்கள் வழியேபோக எனக்குச் சித்தமாகும்போது, நான் தலைவனாய் உட்கார்ந்து, இராணுவத்துக்குள் ராஜாவைப்போலும், துக்கித்தவர்களைத் தேற்றரவுபண்ணுகிறவனைப்போலும் இருந்தேன்.

25. When I agreed vnto their way, I was the chiefe, and sate as a king with his armie about him: and when they were in heauinesse, I was their comfortour.
