1. சாலொமோன் ஜெபம்பண்ணி முடிக்கிறபோது, அக்கினி வானத்திலிருந்து இறங்கி, சர்வாங்க தகனபலியையும் மற்றப் பலிகளையும் பட்சித்தது; கர்த்தருடைய மகிமையும் ஆலயத்தை நிரப்பிற்று.

1. Now when Shlomo had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.

2. கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தை நிரப்பினதினால், ஆசாரியர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்துக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கக்கூடாதிருந்தது.

2. The Kohanim could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD filled the LORD's house.

3. அக்கினி இறங்குகிறதையும், கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை ஆலயத்தின்மேல் தங்கியிருக்கிறதையும், இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் எல்லாரும் கண்டபோது, தளவரிசைமட்டும் தரையிலே முகங்குப்புறக் குனிந்து பணிந்து, கர்த்தர் நல்லவர், அவருடைய கிருபை என்றுமுள்ளது என்று சொல்லி, அவரைத் துதித்தார்கள்.

3. All the children of Yisra'el looked on, when the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD was on the house; and they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped, and gave thanks to the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his loving kindness endures for ever.

4. அப்பொழுது ராஜாவும் சகல ஜனங்களும் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் பலிகளைச் செலுத்தினார்கள்.

4. Then the king and all the people offered sacrifice before the LORD.

5. ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் இருபத்தீராயிரம் மாடுகளையும், லட்சத்திருபதினாயிரம் ஆடுகளையும் பலியிட்டான்; இவ்விதமாய் ராஜாவும் சகல ஜனங்களும் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தைப் பிரதிஷ்டை பண்ணினார்கள்.

5. King Shlomo offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand oxen, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.

6. ஆசாரியர்கள் தங்கள் பணிவிடைகளைச் செய்து நின்றார்கள்; தாவீது ராஜா லேவியரைக்கொண்டு, கர்த்தருடைய கிருபை என்றுமுள்ளது என்று அவரைத் துதித்துப் பாடும்படியாக செய்வித்த கர்த்தரின் கீதவாத்தியங்களை அவர்களும் வாசித்து சேவித்து நின்றார்கள்; ஆசாரியர்கள் அவர்களுக்கு எதிராக நின்று பூரிகைகளை ஊதினார்கள்; இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாரும் நின்றுகொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

6. The Kohanim stood, according to their offices; the Levites also with instruments of music of the LORD, which David the king had made to give thanks to the LORD, (for his loving kindness endures for ever,) when David praised by their ministry: and the Kohanim sounded trumpets before them; and all Yisra'el stood.

7. சாலொமோன் உண்டாக்கின வெண்கலப்பலிபீடம் சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையும் போஜன பலிகளையும் நிணத்தையும் கொள்ளமாட்டாதிருந்தபடியினால், கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்துக்கு முன்னிருக்கிற பிராகாரத்தின் நடுமையத்தைச் சாலொமோன் பரிசுத்தப்படுத்தி, அங்கே சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையும் சமாதானபலிகளின் நிணத்தையும் செலுத்தினான்.

7. Moreover Shlomo made the middle of the court holy that was before the house of the LORD; for there he offered the burnt offerings, and the fat of the peace-offerings, because the brazen altar which Shlomo had made was not able to receive the burnt offering, and the meal-offering, and the fat.

8. அக்காலத்தில்தானே சாலொமோனும், ஆமாத்தின் எல்லையிலிருந்து எகிப்தின் நதிமட்டும் வந்து, அவனோடேகூட இருந்த மகா பெரிய கூட்டமாகிய இஸ்ரவேல் அனைத்தும் ஏழுநாளளவும் பண்டிகையை ஆசரித்து,

8. So Shlomo held the feast at that time seven days, and all Yisra'el with him, a very great assembly, from the entrance of Hamat to the brook of Mitzrayim.

9. எட்டாம் நாளை விசேஷித்த ஆசரிப்பு நாளாய்க் கொண்டாடினார்கள்; ஏழுநாள் பலிபீடத்துப் பிரதிஷ்டையையும், ஏழு நாள் பண்டிகையையும் ஆசரித்தார்கள்.

9. On the eighth day they held a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.

10. ஏழாம் மாதத்தின் இருபத்துமூன்றாம் தேதியிலே தங்கள் தங்கள் கூடாரங்களுக்குப் போக ஜனங்களுக்கு விடை கொடுத்தான்; கர்த்தர் தாவீதுக்கும், சாலொமோனுக்கும், தமது ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலுக்கும் செய்த நன்மைக்காகச் சந்தோஷமும் மனமகிழ்ச்சியுமாய்ப் போனார்கள்.

10. On the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away to their tents, joyful and glad of heart for the goodness that the LORD had shown to David, and to Shlomo, and to Yisra'el his people.

11. இவ்விதமாய் சாலொமோன் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தையும், ராஜ அரமனையையும் கட்டித் தீர்த்தான்; கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலும், தன் அரமனையிலும் சாலொமோன் செய்ய மனதாயிருந்ததெல்லாம் அனுகூலமாயிற்று.

11. Thus Shlomo finished the house of the LORD, and the king's house: and all that came into Shlomo's heart to make in the house of the LORD, and in his own house, he prosperously effected.

12. கர்த்தர் இரவிலே சாலொமோனுக்குத் தரிசனமாகி: நான் உன் விண்ணப்பத்தைக் கேட்டு, இந்த ஸ்தலத்தை எனக்குப் பலியிடும் ஆலயமாகத் தெரிந்துகொண்டேன்.

12. The LORD appeared to Shlomo by night, and said to him, I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for a house of sacrifice.

13. நான் மழையில்லாதபடிக்கு வானத்தை அடைத்து, அல்லது தேசத்தை அழிக்க வெட்டுக்கிளிகளுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டு, அல்லது என் ஜனத்திற்குள் கொள்ளை நோயை அனுப்பும்போது,

13. If I shut up the sky so that there is no rain, or if I command the arbeh to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;

14. என் நாமம் தரிக்கப்பட்ட என் ஜனங்கள் தங்களைத் தாழ்த்தி, ஜெபம்பண்ணி, என் முகத்தைத் தேடி, தங்கள் பொல்லாத வழிகளைவிட்டுத் திரும்பினால், அப்பொழுது பரலோகத்திலிருக்கிற நான் கேட்டு, அவர்கள் பாவத்தை மன்னித்து, அவர்கள் தேசத்துக்கு க்ஷேமத்தைக் கொடுப்பேன்.

14. if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

15. இந்த ஸ்தலத்திலே செய்யப்படும் ஜெபத்திற்கு, என் கண்கள் திறந்தவைகளும், என் செவிகள் கவனிக்கிறவைகளுமாயிருக்கும்.

15. Now my eyes shall be open, and my ears attentive, to the prayer that is made in this place.

16. என் நாமம் இந்த ஆலயத்தில் என்றென்றைக்கும் இருக்கும்படி, நான் இதைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு பரிசுத்தப்படுத்தினேன்; என் கண்களும் என் இருதயமும் எந்நாளும் இங்கே இருக்கும்.

16. For now have I chosen and made this house holy, that my name may be there forever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.

17. உன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீது நடந்ததுபோல, நீ எனக்கு முன்பாக நடந்து, நான் உனக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியெல்லாம் செய்து, என் கட்டளைகளையும் என் நியாயங்களையும் கைக்கொள்வாயானால்,

17. As for you, if you will walk before me as David your father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded you, and will keep my statutes and my ordinances;

18. அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலை அரசாளும் புருஷன் உனக்கு இல்லாமற்போவதில்லை என்று நான் உன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதோடே உடன்படிக்கைபண்ணினபடியே, உன் ராஜ்யபாரத்தின் சிங்காசனத்தை நிலைக்கப்பண்ணுவேன்.

18. then I will establish the throne of your kingdom, according as I covenanted with David your father, saying, There shall not fail you a man to be ruler in Yisra'el.

19. நீங்கள் வழிவிலகி, நான் உங்களுக்கு முன்வைத்த என் கட்டளைகளையும் என் கற்பனைகளையும் விட்டுப்போய், வேறே தேவர்களைச் சேவித்து, அவர்களைப் பணிந்துகொள்வீர்களேயாகில்,

19. But if you turn away, and forsake my statutes and my mitzvot which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

20. நான் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த என் தேசத்தில் இருந்து அவர்களைப் பிடுங்கி, என் நாமத்திற்கென்று நான் பரிசுத்தப்படுத்தின இந்த ஆலயத்தை என் சமுகத்தினின்று தள்ளி, அதை எல்லா ஜனசதளங்களுக்குள்ளும் பழமொழியாகவும் வசைச்சொல்லாகவும் வைப்பேன்.

20. then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have made holy for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

21. அப்பொழுது உன்னதமாயிருக்கிற இந்த ஆலயத்தைக் கடந்துபோகிறவன் எவனும் பிரமித்து: கர்த்தர் இந்த தேசத்திற்கும் இந்த ஆலயத்திற்கும் இப்படிச் செய்தது என்ன என்று கேட்பான்.

21. This house, which is so high, everyone who passes by it shall be astonished, and shall say, Why has the LORD done thus to this land, and to this house?

22. அதற்கு அவர்கள்: தங்கள் பிதாக்களை எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணின தங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை விட்டு, வேறே தேவர்களைப் பற்றிக்கொண்டு, அவைகளை நமஸ்கரித்து, சேவித்தபடியினால், கர்த்தர் இந்தத் தீங்கையெல்லாம் அவர்கள்மேல் வரப்பண்ணினார் என்று சொல்லுவார்கள் என்றார்.

22. They shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD, the God of their fathers, who brought them forth out of the land of Mitzrayim, and laid hold on other gods, and worshiped them, and served them: therefore has he brought all this evil on them.
