1. பின்பு சாலொமோன் எருசலேமிலே தன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதுக்குக் காண்பிக்கப்பட்ட மோரியா என்னும் மலையில் எபூசியனாகிய ஒர்னானின் களம் என்னும் தாவீது குறித்துவைத்த ஸ்தலத்திலே கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டத் துவக்கினான்.

1. Then Solomon began to build the house of Yahweh at Jerusalem on mount Moriah, where [Yahweh] appeared to David his father, which he made ready in the place that David had appointed, in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

2. அவன் தான் ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணின நாலாம் வருஷம் இரண்டாம் மாதம் இரண்டாம் தேதியிலே கட்டத்தொடங்கினான்.

2. And he began to build in the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.

3. தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டுகிறதற்கு, சாலொமோன் போட்ட அஸ்திபாரமானது, முற்காலத்து அளவின்படியே அறுபதுமுழ நீளமும், இருபதுமுழ அகலமுமாயிருந்தது.

3. Now these are the foundations which Solomon laid for the building of the house of God. The length by cubits after the first measure was threescore cubits, and the width twenty cubits.

4. முகப்பு மண்டபம் ஆலயத்தினுடைய அகலத்தின்படியே இருபது முழ நீளமும், நூற்றிருபது முழ உயரமுமாயிருந்தது; அதின் உட்புறத்தைப் பசும்பொன் தகட்டால் மூடினான்.

4. And the porch that was before [the house], the length of it, according to the width of the house, was twenty cubits, and the height 120; and he overlaid it inside with pure gold.

5. ஆலயத்தின் பெரிய மாளிகையை தேவதாரு பலகைகளினால் செய்து பசும்பொன்னினால் இழைத்து, அதின்மேல் பேரீச்சுவேலையையும் சங்கிலிவேலையையும் சித்தரித்து,

5. And the greater house he ceiled with fir-wood, which he overlaid with fine gold, and wrought on it palm-trees and chains.

6. அந்த மாளிகையை இரத்தினங்களால் அலங்கரித்தான்; பொன்னானது பர்வாயீமின் பொன்னாயிருந்தது.

6. And he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty: and the gold was gold of Parvaim.

7. அந்த மாளிகையின் உத்திரங்களையும், நிலைகளையும், அதின் சுவர்களையும், அதின் கதவுகளையும் பொன்தகட்டால் மூடி, கொத்துவேலையால் சுவர்களிலே கேருபீன்களைச் செய்வித்தான்.

7. He overlaid also the house, the beams, the thresholds, and its walls, and its doors, with gold; and engraved cherubim on the walls.

8. மகா பரிசுத்தமான ஆலயத்தையும் கட்டினான்; அதின் நீளம் ஆலயத்தினுடைய அகலத்தின்படி இருபதுமுழமும், அதின் அகலம் இருபது முழமுமாயிருந்தது; அதை அறுநூறு தாலந்து பசும்பொன்னினால் இழைத்தான்.

8. And he made the most holy house: its length, according to the width of the house, was twenty cubits, and its width twenty cubits; and he overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.

9. ஆணிகளின் நிறை ஐம்பது பொன் சேக்கலானது; மேல் அறைகளையும் பொன்னினால் இழைத்தான்.

9. And the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold.

10. அவன் மகா பரிசுத்தமான ஆலயத்திலே இரண்டு கேருபீன்களையும் சித்திரவேலையாய் உண்டுபண்ணினான்; அவைகளைப் பொன்தகட்டால் மூடினான்.

10. And in the most holy house he made two cherubim of molten work; and they overlaid them with gold.

11. அந்தக் கேருபீன்களுடைய செட்டைகளின் நீளம் இருபது முழமானது; ஒன்றினுடைய ஒரு செட்டை ஐந்து முழமாயிருந்து, ஆலயத்துச் சுவரைத் தொட்டது; மறுசெட்டை ஐந்து முழமாயிருந்து, மற்றக் கேருபீனின் செட்டையைத் தொட்டது.

11. And the wings of the cherubim were twenty cubits long: the wing of the one [cherub] was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was [likewise] five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub.

12. மற்றக் கேருபீனின் ஒரு செட்டையும் ஐந்து முழமாயிருந்து, ஆலயத்துச்சுவரைத் தொட்டது; அதின் மறுசெட்டையும் ஐந்து முழமாயிருந்து, மற்றக் கேருபீனின் செட்டையைத் தொட்டது.

12. And the wing of the other cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was five cubits [also], sticking to the wing of the other cherub.

13. இப்படியே அந்தக் கேருபீன்களின் செட்டைகள் இருபதுமுழ விரிவாயிருந்தது; அவைகள் தங்கள் கால்களால் ஊன்றி நின்றது; அவைகளின் முகங்கள் ஆலயத்து உட்புறமாய் நோக்கியிருந்தது.

13. The wings of these cherubim spread themselves forth twenty cubits: and they stood on their feet, and their faces were toward the house.

14. இளநீலநூலாலும் இரத்தாம்பரநூலாலும் சிவுப்புநூலாலும் மெல்லியநூலாலும் திரையையும், அதிலே கேருபீன்களின் உருவங்களையும் உண்டுபண்ணினான்.

14. And he made the veil of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wrought cherubim on it.

15. ஆலயத்திற்கு முன்னாக முப்பத்தைந்துமுழ உயரமான இரண்டு தூண்களையும், அவைகளுடைய முனைகளின் மேலிருக்கும் ஐந்துமுழ உயரமான கும்பங்களையும் உண்டாக்கி,

15. Also he made before the house two pillars of 35 cubits high, and the capital that was on the top of each of them was five cubits.

16. சந்நிதிக்கு முன்னிருக்கச் சங்கிலிகளையும் பண்ணி, தூண்களின் முனைகளின் மேல் பற்றவைத்து, நூறு மாதளம் பழங்களையும் பண்ணி அந்தச் சங்கிலிகளில் கோர்த்தான்.

16. And he made chains in the oracle, and put [them] on the tops of the pillars; and he made a hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains.

17. அந்தத் தூண்களை அவன் தேவாலயத்திற்கு முன்பாக ஒன்றை வலதுபுறத்திலும் ஒன்றை இடது புறத்திலும் நாட்டி, வலதுபுறமானதற்கு யாகீன் என்றும், இடதுபுறமானதற்குப் போவாஸ் என்றும் பேரிட்டான்.

17. And he set up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.
