1. எசேக்கியா இருபத்தைந்தாம் வயதில் ராஜாவாகி, இருபத்தொன்பது வருஷம் எருசலேமில் அரசாண்டான்; சகரியாவின் குமாரத்தியாகிய அவனுடைய தாயின் பேர் அபியாள்.

1. Hezekiah became king when he was 25 years old. He ruled 29 years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Abijah. Abijah was Zechariah's daughter.

2. அவன் தன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீது செய்தபடியெல்லாம் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குச் செம்மையானதைச் செய்தான்.

2. Hezekiah did what the Lord wanted him to do. He did what was right just as David his ancestor had done.

3. அவன் தன் ராஜ்யபாரத்தின் முதலாம் வருஷம் முதலாம் மாதத்தில் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் கதவுகளைத் திறந்து, அவைகளைப் பழுதுபார்த்து,

3. Hezekiah repaired the doors of the Lord's Temple and made them strong. He opened the Temple again. He did this in the first month of the first year after he became king.

4. ஆசாரியரையும் லேவியரையும் அழைத்துவந்து, அவர்களைக் கிழக்கு வீதியிலே கூடிவரச்செய்து,

4. Hezekiah got the priests and Levites together in one assembly. He had a meeting with them in the open yard on the east side of the Temple. Hezekiah said to them, 'Listen to me, Levites! Make yourselves ready for holy service. Make the Temple of the Lord God ready for holy service. He is the God your ancestors obeyed. Take away the things from the Temple that don't belong in there. These things make the Temple not pure.

6. Our ancestors left the Lord and turned their faces away from the Lord's house.

7. அவர்கள் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தில் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனுக்குச் சர்வாங்க தகனபலி செலுத்தாமலும், தூபங்காட்டாமலும், விளக்குகளை அணைத்துப்போட்டு, மண்டபத்தின் கதவுகளையும் பூட்டிப்போட்டார்கள்.

7. They shut the doors of the porch of the Temple and let the fire go out in the lamps. They stopped burning incense and offering burnt offerings in the Holy Place to the God of Israel.

8. ஆகையால் கர்த்தருடைய கடுங்கோபம் யூதாவின்மேலும் எருசலேமின்மேலும் வந்து, அவர் இவர்களை, நீங்கள் உங்கள் கண்களினால் காண்கிறபடி, துயரத்துக்கும் திகைப்புக்கும் பழிப்புக்கும் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.

8. So the Lord became very angry with the people of Judah and Jerusalem. The Lord punished them. Other peoples became afraid and were shocked when they saw what the Lord did to the people of Judah and Jerusalem. They shook their heads with hate and shame for the people of Judah. You know this is true. You can see with your own eyes.

9. இதோ, இதினிமித்தம் நம்முடைய பிதாக்கள் பட்டயத்தினால் விழுந்து, நம்முடைய குமாரரும் நம்முடைய குமாரத்திகளும் நம்முடைய மனைவிகளும் சிறையிருப்பில் அகப்பட்டார்கள்.

9. That is why our ancestors were killed in battle. Our sons, daughters, and wives were made prisoners.

10. இப்போதும் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய உக்கிரகோபம் நம்மைவிட்டுத் திரும்பும்படிக்கு, அவரோடே உடன்படிக்கைபண்ண என் மனதிலே நிர்ணயித்துக்கொண்டேன்.

10. So now I, Hezekiah, have decided to make an agreement with the Lord, the God of Israel. Then he will not be angry with us anymore.

11. என் குமாரரே, இப்பொழுது அசதியாயிராதேயுங்கள்; நீங்கள் கர்த்தருக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்யும்படி அவருக்கு முன்பாக நிற்கவும், அவருக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்கிறவர்களும் தூபங்காட்டுகிறவர்களுமாயிருக்கவும் உங்களை அவர் தெரிந்து கொண்டார் என்றான்.

11. So my sons, don't be lazy or waste any more time. The Lord chose you to serve him {in the Temple} and to burn incense.'

12. அப்பொழுது கோகாத் புத்திரரில் அமாசாயின் குமாரன் மாகாத்தும், அசரியாவின் குமாரன் யோவேலும், மெராரியின் புத்திரரில் அப்தியின் குமாரன் கீசும், எகலேலின் குமாரன் அசரியாவும், கெர்சோனியரில் சிம்மாவின் குமாரன் யோவாகும், யோவாகின் குமாரன் ஏதேனும்,

12. This is a list of the Levites who started to work: From the Kohath family there were Mahath son of Amasai and Joel son of Azariah. From the Merari family there were Kish son of Abdi and Azariah son of Jehallelel. From the Gershon family there were Joah son of Zimmah and Eden son of Joab. From Elizaphan's descendants there were Shimri and Jeiel. From Asaph's descendants there were Zechariah and Mattaniah. From Heman's descendants there were Jehiel and Shimei. From Jeduthun's descendants there were Shemaiah and Uzziel.

13. எலிச்சாப்பான் புத்திரரில் சிம்ரியும், ஏயெலும், ஆசாப்பின் புத்திரரில் சகரியாவும், மத்தனியாவும்,

15. Then these Levites gathered their brothers together and made themselves ready for holy service in the Temple. They obeyed the king's command that came from the Lord. They went into the Lord's Temple to clean it.

16. ஆசாரியர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தைச் சுத்திகரிக்கும்படி உட்புறத்திலே பிரவேசித்து, கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் கண்ட சகல அசுத்தத்தையும் வெளியே கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயப்பிராகாரத்தில் கொண்டு வந்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது லேவியர் அதை எடுத்து வெளியே கீதரோன் ஆற்றிற்குக் கொண்டு போனார்கள்.

16. The priests went into the inside part of the Lord's Temple to clean it. They took out all the unclean things they found in the Lord's Temple. They brought the unclean things to the yard of the Lord's Temple. Then the Levites took the unclean things out to the Kidron Valley.

17. முதல் மாதம் முதல் தேதியிலே அவர்கள் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணத்துவக்கி, எட்டாந்தேதியிலே கர்த்தருடைய மண்டபத்திலே பிரவேசித்து, கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தை எட்டுநாளில் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணி, முதலாம் மாதம் பதினாறாம் தேதியில் அதை முடித்தார்கள்.

17. On the first day of the first month, the Levites began to make themselves ready for holy service. On the eighth day of the month, the Levites came to the porch of the Lord's Temple. For eight more days they cleaned the Lord's Temple to make it ready for holy use. They finished on the 16 day of the first month.

18. அவர்கள் ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியாவினிடத்திலே போய்: நாங்கள் கர்த்தரின் ஆலயத்தையும், சர்வாங்க தகனபலிபீடத்தையும், அதினுடைய சகல பணிமுட்டுகளையும், சமுகத்தப்பங்களின் மேஜையையும், அதின் சகல பணிமுட்டுகளையும் சுத்திகரித்து,

18. Then they went to King Hezekiah and said to him, 'King Hezekiah, we cleaned all the Lord's Temple and the altar for burning offerings and all the things in the Temple. We cleaned the table for the rows of bread with all the things used for that table.

19. ராஜாவாகிய ஆகாஸ் அரசாளும்போது தம்முடைய பாதகத்தினால் எறிந்துபோட்ட சகல பணிமுட்டுகளையும் முஸ்திப்பாக்கிப் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணினோம்; இதோ, அவைகள் கர்த்தரின் ஆலயத்திற்கு முன்பாக இருக்கிறது என்றார்கள்.

19. During the time that Ahaz was king, he rebelled against God. He threw away many of the things that were in the Temple. But we repaired all those things and made them ready for their special use. They are now in front of the Lord's altar.'

20. அப்பொழுது ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியா காலமே எழுந்திருந்து, நகரத்தின் பிரபுக்களைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, கர்த்தரின் ஆலயத்திற்குப் போனான்.

20. King Hezekiah gathered the city officials and went up to the Temple of the Lord early the next morning.

21. அப்பொழுது ராஜ்யபாரத்திற்காகவும் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்திற்காகவும் யூதாவுக்காகவும் ஏழு காளைகளையும், ஏழு ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும், ஏழு ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளையும், ஏழு வெள்ளாட்டுக்கடாக்களையும் பாவநிவாரணபலியாகக் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; அவைகளைக் கர்த்தருடைய பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் பலியிடுங்கள் என்று அவன் ஆசாரியராகிய ஆரோனின் புத்திரருக்குச் சொன்னான்.

21. They brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs, and seven young male goats. These animals were for a sin offering for the kingdom of Judah, for the Holy Place to make it clean, and for the people of Judah. King Hezekiah commanded the priests who were descendants of Aaron to offer these animals on the Lord's altar.

22. அப்படியே ஆசாரியர் காளைகளை அடித்து, அந்த இரத்தத்தைப் பிடித்துப் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் தெளித்தார்கள்; ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களை அடித்து, அவைகளின் இரத்தத்தைப் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் தெளித்தார்கள்; ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளையும் அடித்து, அவைகளின் இரத்தத்தையும் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் தெளித்தார்கள்.

22. So the priests killed the bulls and kept the blood. Then they sprinkled the bulls' blood on the altar. Then they killed the rams and sprinkled the rams' blood on the altar. Then they killed the lambs and sprinkled the lambs' blood on the altar.

23. பிற்பாடு பாவநிவாரண பலிக்கான வெள்ளாட்டுக்கடாக்களை ராஜாவுக்கும் சபையாருக்கு முன்பாகக் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; அவைகள்மேல் அவர்கள் தங்கள் கைகளை வைத்தார்கள்.

23. Then the priests brought the male goats in front of the king, and the people gathered together. The goats were the sin offering. The priests put their hands on the goats and killed the goats. They made a sin offering with the goats' blood on the altar. They did this so that God would forgive the sins of the Israelites. The king said that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all the Israelites.

24. இஸ்ரவேல் அனைத்திற்காகவும், சர்வாங்க தகனபலியையும் பாவநிவாரணபலியையும் செலுத்துங்கள் என்று ராஜா சொல்லியிருந்தான்; ஆதலால் ஆசாரியர் அவைகளை அடித்து, இஸ்ரவேல் அனைத்திற்கும் பாவநிவிர்த்தி உண்டாக்க, அவைகளின் இரத்தத்தால் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் பிராயச்சித்தஞ்செய்தார்கள்.

25. அவன், தாவீதும், ராஜாவின் ஞானதிருஷ்டிக்காரனாகிய காத்தும், தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய நாத்தானும் கற்பித்தபடியே, கைத்தாளங்களையும் தம்புருகளையும் சுரமண்டலங்களையும் வாசிக்கிற லேவியரைக் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலே நிறுத்தினான்; இப்படிச் செய்யவேண்டும் என்கிற கற்பனை கர்த்தரால் அவருடைய தீர்க்கதரிசிகளைக்கொண்டு உண்டாயிருந்தது.

25. King Hezekiah put the Levites in the Lord's Temple with cymbals, harps, and lyres as David, Gad, the king's seer, and the prophet Nathan had commanded. This command came from the Lord through his prophets.

26. அப்படியே லேவியர் தாவீதின் கீதவாத்தியங்களையும், ஆசாரியர் பூரிகைகளையும் பிடித்து நின்றார்கள்.

26. So the Levites stood ready with David's instruments of music, and the priests stood ready with their trumpets.

27. அப்பொழுது எசேக்கியா சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளைப் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் செலுத்தக் கட்டளையிட்டான்; அதைச் செலுத்தத் துவக்கின நேரத்தில் கர்த்தரைத் துதிக்கும் கீதமும் பூரிகைகளும், இஸ்ரவேல் ராஜாவாகிய தாவீது ஏற்படுத்தின கீதவாத்தியங்களும் முழங்கத்தொடங்கினது.

27. Then Hezekiah gave the order to sacrifice the burnt offering on the altar. When the burnt offering began, singing to the Lord also began. The trumpets were blown, and the instruments of David king of Israel were played.

28. கீதத்தைப்பாடி, பூரிகைகளை ஊதிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், சர்வாங்க தகனபலியைச் செலுத்தித் தீருமட்டும் சபையார் எல்லாரும் பணிந்துகொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

28. All the assembly bowed down, the musicians sang, and the trumpet players blew their trumpets until the burnt offering was finished.

29. பலியிட்டுத் தீர்ந்தபோது, ராஜாவும் அவனோடிருந்த அனைவரும் தலைகுனிந்து பணிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.

29. After the sacrifices were finished, King Hezekiah and all the people with him bowed down and worshiped.

30. பின்பு எசேக்கியா ராஜாவும் பிரபுக்களும் லேவியரை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் தாவீதும் ஞானதிருஷ்டிக்காரனாகிய ஆசாபும் பாடின வார்த்தைகளினால் கர்த்தரைத் துதியுங்கள் என்றார்கள்; அப்பொழுது மகிழ்ச்சியோடே துதிசெய்து தலைகுனிந்து பணிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.

30. King Hezekiah and his officials ordered the Levites to give praise to the Lord. They sang songs that David and Asaph the seer had written. They praised God and became happy. They all bowed and worshiped God.

31. அதின்பின்பு எசேக்கியா: இப்போதும் நீங்கள் கர்த்தருக்கென்று உங்களைப் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணினீர்கள்; ஆகையால் கிட்டவந்து, கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்குத் தகனபலிகளையும் ஸ்தோத்திரபலிகளையும் கொண்டுவாருங்கள் என்றான்; அப்பொழுது சபையார் தகனபலிகளையும் ஸ்தோத்திரபலிகளையும், இஷ்டமுள்ளவர்களெல்லாம் சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையும் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.

31. Hezekiah said, 'Now you people of Judah have given yourselves to the Lord. Come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings to the Lord's Temple.' Then the people brought sacrifices and thank offerings. Anyone who wanted to, also brought burnt offerings.

32. சபையார் கொண்டுவந்த சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளின் தொகை எழுபது காளைகளும், நூறு ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களும், இருநூறு ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளுமே; இவைகளெல்லாம் கர்த்தருக்குச் சர்வாங்க தகனமாயின.

32. This is how many burnt offerings the assembly brought to the Temple: 70 bulls, 100 rams, and 200 lambs. All these animals were sacrificed as burnt offerings to the Lord.

33. அறுநூறு காளைகளும் மூவாயிரம் ஆடுகளும் பிரதிஷ்டையாக்கப்பட்டது.

33. The holy offerings for the Lord were 600 bulls and 3000 sheep and goats.

34. ஆனாலும் ஆசாரியர்கள் கொஞ்சம்பேரானதினால் அவர்களால் அந்தச் சர்வாங்க தகனமான ஜீவன்களையெல்லாம் அடித்துத் தோலுரிக்க முடியாதிருந்தது; அதினாலே அந்த வேலை தீருமட்டாகவும், மற்ற ஆசாரியர் தங்களைப் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணுமட்டாகவும், அவர்கள் சகோதரராகிய லேவியர் அவர்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்தார்கள்; தங்களைப் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணிக்கொள்ள லேவியர் ஆசாரியரைப்பார்க்கிலும் மன உற்சாகமுள்ளவர்களாயிருந்தார்கள்.

34. But there were not enough priests to skin and cut up all the animals for the burnt offerings. So their relatives, the Levites, helped them until the work was finished and until other priests could make themselves ready for holy service. The Levites were more serious about making themselves ready to serve the Lord. They were more serious than the priests.

35. சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளும், ஸ்தோத்திரபலிகளின் கொழுப்பும், சர்வாங்கதகனங்களுக்கடுத்த பானபலிகளும் மிகுதியாயிருந்தது; இவ்விதமாய் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் ஆராதனை திட்டம் பண்ணப்பட்டது.

35. There were many burnt offerings, and the fat of fellowship offerings, and drink offerings. So the service in the Lord's Temple began again.

36. தேவன் ஜனத்தை ஆயத்தப்படுத்தினதைக்குறித்து எசேக்கியாவும் ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் சந்தோஷப்பட்டார்கள்; இந்தக் காரியத்தைச் செய்யும்படியான யோசனை சடுதியாய் உண்டாயிற்று.

36. Hezekiah and the people were very happy about the things God prepared for his people. And they were happy he did it so quickly!
