1. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்ட நானூற்று எண்பதாம் வருஷத்திலும், சாலொமோன் இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவான நாலாம் வருஷம் சீப் மாதமாகிய இரண்டாம் மாதத்திலும், அவன் கர்த்தரின் ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டத்தொடங்கினான்.

1. And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Jehovah.

2. And the house that king Solomon built for Jehovah was sixty cubits in length, and twenty in breadth, and thirty cubits in height.

3. ஆலயமாகிய அந்த மாளிகையின் முகப்பிலே அவன் கட்டின மண்டபம் ஆலயத்தின் அகலத்திற்குச் சரியாய் இருபதுமுழ நீளமும், ஆலயத்துக்கு முன்னே பத்துமுழ அகலமுமாயிருந்தது.

3. And the porch, in front of the temple of the house, was twenty cubits in length, in front of the house broadways, [and] ten cubits was its breadth, in front of the house.

4. பார்வைக்குக் குறுகிப்போகிற ஒடுக்கமான ஜன்னல்களை ஆலயத்திற்குச் செய்வித்தான்.

4. And for the house he made closed windows with fixed lattices.

5. அவன் தேவாலயத்தின் சுவரும் சந்நிதி ஸ்தானச் சுவருமாகிய ஆலயத்தின் சுவர்களுக்கு அடுத்ததாய்ச் சுற்றுக்கட்டுகளைக் கட்டி, அவைகளில் அறைகளைச் சுற்றிலும் உண்டாக்கினான்.

5. And against the wall of the house he built floors round about, [against] the walls of the house, round about the temple and the oracle; and he made side-chambers round about.

6. கீழே இருக்கிற சுற்றுக்கட்டு ஐந்துமுழ அகலமும், நடுவே இருக்கிறது ஆறுமுழ அகலமும், மூன்றாவதாயிருக்கிறது ஏழுமுழ அகலமுமாயிருந்தது; அவைகள் ஆலயத்தினுடைய சுவர்களிலே தாங்காதபடிக்கு ஆலயத்தைச் சுற்றிலும் புறம்பே ஒட்டுச்சுவர்களைக் கட்டுவித்தான்.

6. The lowest floor was five cubits broad, and the middle one was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad; for in the [thickness of the wall of] the house he made resets round about outside, that nothing should be fastened in the walls of the house.

7. ஆலயம் கட்டப்படுகையில், அது பணிதீர்ந்து கொண்டுவரப்பட்ட கற்களாலே கட்டப்பட்டது; ஆகையால் அது கட்டப்படுகிறபோது, சுத்திகள் வாச்சிகள் முதலான எந்த இருப்பு ஆயுதங்களின் சத்தமும் அதிலே கேட்கப்படவில்லை.

7. And the house, when it was being built, was built of stone entirely made ready before it was brought thither; so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house while it was being built.

8. நடு அறைகளுக்குப் போகிற வாசற்படி ஆலயத்தின் வலதுபுறத்தில் இருந்தது; சுழற்படிகளால் நடு அறைகளுக்கும், நடு அறைகளிலிருந்து மூன்றாவது அறைகளுக்கும் ஏறுவார்கள்.

8. The entrance to the side-chambers of the middle [floor] was in the right side of the house; and they went up by winding stairs into the middle [floor], and out of the middle into the third.

9. இவ்விதமாய் அவன் ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டி, கேதுரு மர உத்திரங்களாலும் பலகைகளாலும் ஆலயத்தை மச்சுப்பாவி முடித்தான்.

9. And he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.

10. அவன் ஐந்துமுழ உயரமான சுற்றுக்கட்டுகளை ஆலயத்தின்மேலெங்கும் கட்டுவித்தான்; அவைகள் கேதுருமரங்களால் ஆலயத்தோடே இணைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது.

10. And he built the floors against all the house, five cubits high; and they held to the house by the timbers of cedar.

11. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை சாலொமோனுக்கு உண்டாயிற்று; அவர்:

11. And the word of Jehovah came to Solomon saying,

12. நீ என் கட்டளைகளின்படி நடந்து, என் நீதி நியாயங்களை நிறைவேற்றி, என் கற்பனைகளின்படியெல்லாம் நடந்து கொள்ளும்படிக்கு, அவைகளைக் கைக்கொண்டால், நீ கட்டுகிற இந்த ஆலயத்தைக்குறித்து நான் உன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதோடே சொன்ன என் வார்த்தையை உன்னிடத்தில் நிறைவேற்றி,

12. As to this house which thou art building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and practise mine ordinances, and keep all my commandments to walk in them, then will I perform my word as to thee which I spoke unto David thy father;

13. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் நடுவிலே வாசம்பண்ணி, என் ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலைக் கைவிடாதிருப்பேன் என்றார்.

13. and I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

14. அப்படியே சாலொமோன் ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டி முடித்தான்.

14. And Solomon built the house and finished it.

15. ஆலயத்துச் சுவர்களின் உட்புறத்தை, தளம் தொடங்கிச் சுவர்களின் மேல்மச்சுமட்டும், கேதுருப்பலகைகளால் மூடி, இப்படி உட்புறத்தை மரவேலையாக்கி, ஆலயத்தின் தளத்தை தேவதாரி விருட்சங்களின் பலகைகளால் தளவரிசைப்படுத்தினான்.

15. And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, from the floor of the house to the walls of the roof; he overlaid [them] on the inside with wood, and overlaid the floor of the house with boards of cypress.

16. தளவரிசை தொடங்கிச் சுவர்களின் உயரமட்டும் ஆலயத்தின் பக்கங்களைத் தொடர்ந்திருக்கிற இருபதுமுழ நீளமான மறைப்பையும் கேதுருப்பலகைகளால் உண்டாக்கி, உட்புறத்தை மகா பரிசுத்தமான சந்நிதிஸ்தானமாகக் கட்டினான்.

16. And he built twenty cubits of the innermost part of the house, both floor and walls, with boards of cedar; and he built [them] for it within, to [be] the oracle, the most holy place.

17. அதின் முன்னிருக்கிற தேவாலயமாகிய மாளிகை நாற்பதுமுழ நீளமாயிருந்தது.

17. And the house, that is, the temple before it, was forty cubits [long].

18. ஆலயத்திற்குள் இருக்கிற கேதுருமரங்களில் மொக்குகளும் மலர்ந்த பூக்களுமான சித்திரவேலை செய்திருந்தது; பார்வைக்கு ஒரு கல்லாகிலும் காணப்படாமல் எல்லாம் கேதுருமரமாயிருந்தது.

18. And the cedar of the house within was carved with colocynths and half-open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.

19. கர்த்தருடைய உடன்படிக்கைப் பெட்டியை வைக்கிறதற்கு ஆலயத்துக்குள்ளே சந்நிதிஸ்தானத்தை ஆயத்தப்படுத்தினான்.

19. And he prepared the oracle in the midst of the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of Jehovah.

20. சந்நிதிஸ்தானம் முன்புறமட்டும் இருபதுமுழ நீளமும், இருபதுமுழ அகலமும், இருபதுமுழ உயரமுமாயிருந்தது; அதைப் பசும்பொன்தகட்டால் மூடினான்; கேதுருமரப் பலிபீடத்தையும் அப்படியே மூடினான்.

20. And the oracle within was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof; and he overlaid it with pure gold; and he overlaid the cedar-wood altar --

21. ஆலயத்தின் உட்புறத்தைச் சாலொமோன் பசும்பொன்தகட்டால் மூடி, சந்நிதிஸ்தானத்தின் மறைப்புக்கும் பொன்சங்கிலிகளைக் குறுக்கே போட்டு, அதைப் பொன்தகட்டால் மூடினான்.

21. and Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold, and shut off the oracle in front with chains of gold, and overlaid it with gold.

22. இப்படி ஆலயம் முழுவதும் கட்டித்தீருமட்டும், அவன் ஆலயம் முழுவதையும் பொன்தகட்டால் மூடி, சந்நிதிஸ்தானத்திற்கு முன்பாக இருக்கிற பலிபீடத்தை முழுவதும் பொன்தகட்டால் மூடினான்.

22. And the whole house he overlaid with gold, the whole house entirely; also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold.

23. சந்நிதிஸ்தானத்தில் ஒலிவமரங்களால் இரண்டு கேருபீன்களைச் செய்து வைத்தான்; ஒவ்வொன்றும் பத்துமுழ உயரமுமாயிருந்தது.

23. And he made in the oracle two cherubim of olive-wood, ten cubits high;

24. கேருபீனுக்கு இருக்கிற ஒருசெட்டை ஐந்துமுழமும் கேருபீனின் மற்றச் செட்டை ஐந்து முழமுமாய், இப்படி ஒரு செட்டையின் கடைசிமுனை தொடங்கி மற்றச் செட்டையின் கடைசி முனை மட்டும் பத்துமுழமாயிருந்தது.

24. and one wing of the cherub was five cubits, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub, ten cubits from the end of one wing to the end of the other wing;

25. மற்றக் கேருபீனும் பத்து முழமாயிருந்தது; இரண்டு கேருபீன்களும் ஒரே அளவும் ஒரே திட்டமுமாயிருந்தது.

25. and the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubim were of one measure and one form.

26. ஒரு கேருபீன் பத்துமுழ உயரமாயிருந்தது; மற்றக் கேருபீனும் அப்படியே இருந்தது.

26. The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so of the other cherub.

27. அந்தக் கேருபீன்களை உள் ஆலயத்திலே வைத்தான்; கேருபீன்களின் செட்டைகள் விரித்திருந்ததினால், ஒரு கேருபீனின் செட்டை ஒரு பக்கத்துச்சுவரிலும், மற்றக் கேருபீனின் செட்டை மறுபக்கத்துச் சுவரிலும் தொடத்தக்கதாயிருந்தது; ஆலயத்தின் நடுமையத்தில், அவைகளின் செட்டைகள் ஒன்றோடொன்று தொடத்தக்கதாயிருந்தது.

27. And he set the cherubim in the midst of the inner house; and the wings of the cherubim were stretched forth, so that the wing of the one touched the wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched, wing to wing, in the midst of the house.

28. அந்தக் கேருபீன்களைப் பொன்தகட்டால் மூடினான்.

28. And he overlaid the cherubim with gold.

29. ஆலயத்தின் சுவர்களையெல்லாம் அவன் சுற்றிலும் உள்ளும் புறம்புமாகக் கேருபீன்களும் பேரீந்துகளும் மலர்ந்த பூக்களுமான சித்திரங்களும் கொத்து வேலைகளுமாக்கினான்.

29. And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved sculptures of cherubim, and palm-trees, and half-open flowers, within and without.

30. உள்ளும் புறம்புமாயிருக்கிற ஆலயத்துத் தளவரிசையையும் பொன்தகட்டால் மூடினான்.

30. And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.

31. சந்நிதி ஸ்தானத்தின் வாசலுக்கு ஒலிவமரங்களால் இரட்டைக் கதவுகளைச் செய்தான்; மேல்சட்டமும் நிலைகளும் மறைப்பின் அளவில் ஐந்தில் ஒரு பங்காயிருந்தது.

31. And for the entrance of the oracle he made doors of olive-wood: the lintel [and] side posts were the fifth part [of the breadth of the house].

32. ஒலிவமரமான அந்த இரட்டைக் கதவுகளில் அவன் கேருபீன்களும் பேரீந்துகளும் மலர்ந்த பூக்களுமான சித்திரங்களைச் செய்து, அந்தக் கேருபீன்களிலும் பேரீந்துகளிலும் பொன்பதியத்தக்கதாய்ப் பொன்தகட்டால் மூடினான்.

32. The two doors were of olive-wood; and he carved on them carvings of cherubim, and palm-trees and half-open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold on the cherubim and on the palm-trees.

33. இப்படி தேவாலயத்தின் வாசலுக்கும் ஒலிவமர நிலைகளைச் செய்தான்; அது சுவர் அளவில் நாலத்தொரு பங்காயிருந்தது.

33. And he also made for the doorway of the temple posts of olive-wood, of the fourth part [of the breadth of the house].

34. அதின் இரண்டு கதவுகளும் தேவதாரிப் பலகைகளால் செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தது; ஒரு கதவுக்கு இரண்டு மடிப்புப் பலகைகளும், மற்றக் கதவுக்கு இரண்டு மடிப்புப் பலகைகளும் இருந்தது.

34. And the two folding-doors were of cypress-wood: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.

35. அவைகளில் கேருபீன்களும் பேரீந்துகளும் மலர்ந்த பூக்களுமான சித்திர வேலையைச் செய்து, சித்திரங்களுக்குச் சரியாகச் செய்யப்பட்ட பொன்தகட்டால் அவைகளை மூடினான்.

35. And he carved on them cherubim, and palm-trees, and half-open flowers; and overlaid them with gold fitted on the carved work.

36. அவன் உட்பிரகாரத்தை மூன்று வரிசை வெட்டின கற்களாலும், ஒரு வரிசை கேதுருப் பலகைகளாலும் கட்டினான்.

36. And he built the inner court of three rows of hewn stone, and a row of cedar-beams.

37. நாலாம் வருஷம் சீப்மாதத்திலே கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்துக்கு அஸ்திபாரம் போட்டு,

37. In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of Jehovah laid, in the month Zif;

38. பதினோராம் வருஷம் பூல் என்னும் எட்டாம் மாதத்திலே, அந்த ஆலயமுழுதும் சகல சட்டதிட்டத்தின்படியே ஒருபங்கும் குறையாமல் கட்டித் தீர்ந்தது; அவன் அதைக் கட்டிமுடிக்க ஏழுவருஷம் சென்றது.

38. and in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished in all its parts, and according to all the fashion of it. So he was seven years in building it.
