1. அந்நாளிலே தெபொராளும் அபினோகாமின் குமாரன் பாராக்கும் பாடினதாவது:

1. And Deborah singeth -- also Barak son of Abinoam -- on that day, saying: --

2. கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேலுக்காக நீதியைச் சரிக்கட்டினதினிமித்தமும், ஜனங்கள் மனப்பூர்வமாய்த் தங்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்ததினிமித்தமும் அவரை ஸ்தோத்திரியுங்கள்.

2. 'For freeing freemen in Israel, For a people willingly offering themselves Bless ye Jehovah.

3. ராஜாக்களே, கேளுங்கள்; அதிபதிகளே, செவிகொடுங்கள்; நான் கர்த்தரைப் பாடி, இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரைக் கீர்த்தனம்பண்ணுவேன்.

3. Hear, ye kings; give ear, ye princes, I, to Jehovah, I -- I do sing, I sing praise to Jehovah, God of Israel.

4. கர்த்தாவே, நீர் சேயீரிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, ஏதோமின் வெளியிலிருந்து நடந்து வருகையில், பூமி அதிர்ந்தது, வானம் சொரிந்தது, மேகங்களும் தண்ணீராய்ப் பொழிந்தது.

4. Jehovah, in Thy going forth out of Seir, In Thy stepping out of the field of Edom, Earth trembled, also the heavens dropped, Also thick clouds dropped water.

5. கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாகப் பர்வதங்கள் கரைந்தது; இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக சீனாயும் கரைந்தது.

5. Hills flowed from the face of Jehovah, This one -- Sinai -- From the face of Jehovah, God of Israel.

6. ஆனாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய சம்காரின் நாட்களிலும், யாகேலின் நாட்களிலும், பெரும்பாதைகள் பாழாய்க் கிடந்தது; வழி நடக்கிறவர்கள் பக்கவழியாய் நடந்தார்கள்.

6. In the days of Shamgar son of Anath -- In the days of Jael -- The ways have ceased, And those going in the paths go [in] crooked ways.

7. தெபொராளாகிய நான் எழும்புமளவும், இஸ்ரவேலிலே நான் தாயாக எழும்புமளவும், கிராமங்கள் பாழாய்ப்போயின, இஸ்ரவேலின் கிராமங்கள் பாழாய்ப்போயின.

7. Villages ceased in Israel -- they ceased, Till that I arose -- Deborah, That I arose, a mother in Israel.

8. நூதன தேவர்களைத் தெரிந்து கொண்டார்கள்; அப்பொழுது யுத்தம் வாசல்வரையும் வந்தது; இஸ்ரவேலிலே நாற்பதினாயிரம்பேருக்குள்ளே கேடகமும் ஈட்டியும் காணப்பட்டதுண்டோ?

8. He chooseth new gods, Then war [is] at the gates! A shield is not seen -- and a spear Among forty thousand in Israel.

9. ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே தங்களை மனப்பூர்வமாய் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்த இஸ்ரவேலின் அதிபதிகளை என் இருதயம் நாடுகிறது; கர்த்தரை ஸ்தோத்திரியுங்கள்.

9. My heart [is] to the lawgivers of Israel, Who are offering themselves willingly among the people, Bless ye Jehovah!

10. வெள்ளைக் கழுதைகளின்மேல் ஏறுகிறவர்களே, நியாயஸ்தலத்தில் வீற்றிருக்கிறவர்களே, வழியில் நடக்கிறவர்களே, இதைப் பிரஸ்தாபியுங்கள்.

10. Riders on white asses -- Sitters on a long robe -- And walkers by the way -- meditate!

11. தண்ணீர் மொண்டுகொள்ளும் இடங்களில் வில்வீரரின் இரைச்சலுக்கு நீங்கினவர்கள் அங்கே கர்த்தரின் நீதிநியாயங்களையும், அவர் இஸ்ரவேலிலுள்ள தமது கிராமங்களுக்குச் செய்த நீதிநியாயங்களையுமே பிரஸ்தாபப்படுத்துவார்கள்; அதுமுதல் கர்த்தரின் ஜனங்கள் ஒலிமுகவாசல்களிலே போய் இறங்குவார்கள்.

11. By the voice of shouters Between the places of drawing water, There they give out righteous acts of Jehovah, Righteous acts of His villages in Israel, Then ruled in the gates have the people of Jehovah.

12. விழி, விழி, தெபொராளே, விழி, விழி, பாட்டுப்பாடு; பாராக்கே, எழும்பு; அபினோகாமின் குமாரனே, உன்னைச் சிறையாக்கினவர்களைச் சிறையாக்கிக்கொண்டுபோ.

12. Awake, awake, Deborah; Awake, awake, utter a song; Rise, Barak, and take captive thy captivity, Son of Abinoam.

13. மீதியாயிருந்தவர்கள் ஜனத்தின் பிரபுக்களை ஆளும்படி செய்தார்; கர்த்தர் எனக்குப் பராக்கிரமசாலிகளின்மேல் ஆளுகை தந்தார்.

13. Then him who is left of the honourable ones He caused to rule the people of Jehovah, He caused me to rule among the mighty.

14. அமலேக்குக்கு விரோதமாக இவர்களுடைய வேர் எப்பிராயீமிலிருந்து துளிர்த்தது; உன் ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே பென்யமீன் மனுஷர் உனக்குப் பின்சென்றார்கள்; மாகீரிலிருந்து அதிபதிகளும், செபுலோனிலிருந்து எழுதுகோலைப் பிடிக்கிறவர்களும் இறங்கிவந்தார்கள்.

14. Out of Ephraim their root [is] against Amalek. After thee, Benjamin, among thy peoples. Out of Machir came down lawgivers, And out of Zebulun those drawing with the reed of a writer.

15. இசக்காரின் பிரபுக்களும் தெபொராளோடே இருந்தார்கள்; பாராக்கைப்போல இசக்கார் மனுஷரும் பள்ளத்தாக்கில் கால்நடையாய் அனுப்பப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்; ரூபனின் பிரிவினைகளால் உண்டான இருதயத்தின் நினைவுகள் மிகுதி.

15. And princes in Issachar [are] with Deborah, Yea, Issachar [is] right with Barak, Into the valley he was sent on his feet. In the divisions of Reuben, Great [are] the decrees of heart!

16. மந்தைகளின் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்க, நீ தொழுவங்களின் நடுவே இருந்துவிட்டதென்ன? ரூபனின் பிரிவினைகளால் மனோவிசாரங்கள் மிகுதி.

16. Why hast thou abode between the boundaries, To hear lowings of herds? For the divisions of Reuben, Great [are] the searchings of heart!

17. கீலேயாத் மனுஷர் யோர்தானுக்கு அக்கரையிலே இருந்துவிட்டார்கள்; தாண் மனுஷர் கப்பல்களில் தங்கியிருந்ததென்ன? ஆசேர் மனுஷர் கடற்கரையிலே தங்கி, தங்கள் குடாக்களில் தாபரித்தார்கள்.

17. Gilead beyond the Jordan did tabernacle, And Dan -- why doth he sojourn [in] ships? Asher hath abode at the haven of the seas, And by his creeks doth tabernacle.

18. செபுலோனும் நப்தலியும் போர்க்களத்து முனையிலே தங்கள் உயிரை எண்ணாமல் மரணத்துக்குத் துணிந்து நின்றார்கள்.

18. Zebulun [is] a people who exposed its soul to death, Naphtali also -- on high places of the field.

19. ராஜாக்கள் வந்து யுத்தம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அப்பொழுது கானானியரின் ராஜாக்கள் மெகிதோவின் தண்ணீர் அருகான தானாக்கிலே யுத்தம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அவர்களுக்குத் திரவியக்கொள்ளை கிடைக்கவில்லை.

19. Kings came -- they fought; Then fought kings of Canaan, In Taanach, by the waters of Megiddo; Gain of money they took not!

20. வானத்திலிருந்து யுத்தம் உண்டாயிற்று; நட்சத்திரங்கள் தங்கள் அயனங்களிலிருந்து சிசெராவோடே யுத்தம்பண்ணின.

20. From the heavens they fought: The stars from their highways fought with Sisera.

21. கீசோன் நதி, பூர்வ நதியாகிய கீசோன் நதியே, அவர்களை அடித்துக்கொண்டு போயிற்று; என் ஆத்துமாவே, நீ பலவான்களை மிதித்தாய்.

21. The brook Kishon swept them away, The brook most ancient -- the brook Kishon. Thou dost tread down strength, O my soul!

22. அப்பொழுது குதிரைகளின் குளம்புகள், பாய்ச்சலினாலே, பலவான்களின் பாய்ச்சலினாலேயே, பிளந்துபோயின.

22. Then broken were the horse-heels, By pransings -- pransings of its mighty ones.

23. மேரோசைச் சபியுங்கள்; அதின் குடிகளைச் சபிக்கவே சபியுங்கள் என்று கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் சொல்லுகிறார்; அவர்கள் கர்த்தர் பட்சத்தில் துணை நிற்க வரவில்லை; பராக்கிரமசாலிகளுக்கு விரோதமாய் அவர்கள் கர்த்தர் பட்சத்தில் துணைநிற்க வரவில்லையே.

23. Curse Meroz -- said a messenger of Jehovah, Cursing, curse ye its inhabitants, For they came not to the help of Jehovah, To the help of Jehovah among the mighty!

24. ஸ்திரீகளுக்குள்ளே கேனியனான ஏபேரின் மனைவியாகிய யாகேல் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்ட்டவள்; கூடாரத்தில் வாசமாயிருக்கிற ஸ்திரீகளுக்குள்ளே அவள் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவளே.

24. Blessed above women is Jael, Wife of Heber the Kenite, Above women in the tent she is blessed.

25. தண்ணீரைக் கேட்டான், பாலைக் கொடுத்தாள்; ராஜாக்களின் கிண்ணியிலே வெண்ணெயைக் கொண்டுவந்து கொடுத்தாள்.

25. Water he asked -- milk she gave; In a lordly dish she brought near butter.

26. தன் கையால் ஆணியையும், தன் வலது கையால் தொழிலாளரின் சுத்தியையும் பிடித்து, சிசெராவை அடித்தாள்; அவன் நெறியில் உருவக்கடாவி, அவன் தலையை உடைத்துப்போட்டாள்.

26. Her hand to the pin she sendeth forth, And her right hand to the labourers' hammer, And she hammered Sisera -- she smote his head, Yea, she smote, and it passed through his temple.

27. அவள் கால் அருகே அவன் மடங்கி விழுந்துகிடந்தான், அவள் கால் அருகே மடங்கி விழுந்தான்; அவன் எங்கே மடங்கி விழுந்தானோ அங்கே மடிந்துகிடந்தான்.

27. Between her feet he bowed -- He fell, he lay down; Between her feet he bowed, he fell; Where he bowed, there he fell -- destroyed.

28. சிசெராவின் தாய் ஜன்னலில் நின்று பலகணி வழியாய்ப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்து: அவனுடைய இரதம் வராமல் பிந்திப்போனதென்ன? அவனுடைய இரதங்களின் ஓட்டம் தாமதிக்கிறதென்ன என்று புலம்பினாள்.

28. Through the window she hath looked out -- Yea, she crieth out -- the mother of Sisera, Through the lattice: Wherefore is his chariot delaying to come? Wherefore tarried have the steps of his chariot?

29. அவளுடைய நாயகிகளில் புத்திசாலிகள் அவளுக்கு உத்தரவு சொன்னதுமின்றி, அவள் தானும் தனக்கு மறுமொழியாக:

29. The wise ones, her princesses, answer her, Yea, she returneth her sayings to herself:

30. அவர்கள் கொள்ளையைக் கண்டுபிடிக்கவில்லையோ, அதைப் பங்கிடவேண்டாமோ, ஆளுக்கு இரண்டொரு பெண்களையும், சிசெராவுக்குக் கொள்ளையிட்ட பலவருணமான ஆடைகளையும், கொள்ளையிட்ட பலவருணமான சித்திரத் தையலாடைகளையும், கொள்ளையிட்டவர்களின் கழுத்துக்கு இருபுறமும் பொருந்தும் சித்திரத்தையலுள்ள பலவருணமான ஆடையையும் கொடுக்கவேண்டாமோ என்றாள்.

30. Do they not find? -- they apportion spoil, A female -- two females -- for every head, Spoil of finger-work for Sisera, Spoil of embroidered finger-work, Finger-work -- a pair of embroidered things, For the necks of the spoil!

31. கர்த்தாவே, உம்மைப் பகைக்கிற யாவரும் இப்படியே அழியக்கடவர்கள்; அவரில் அன்புகூருகிறவர்களோ, வல்லமையோடே உதிக்கிற சூரியனைப்போல இருக்கக்கடவர்கள் என்று பாடினார்கள். பின்பு தேசம் நாற்பது வருஷம் அமைதலாயிருந்தது.

31. So do all Thine enemies perish, O Jehovah, And those loving Him [are] As the going out of the sun in its might!' and the land resteth forty years.
