2. கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேலுக்காக நீதியைச் சரிக்கட்டினதினிமித்தமும், ஜனங்கள் மனப்பூர்வமாய்த் தங்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்ததினிமித்தமும் அவரை ஸ்தோத்திரியுங்கள்.

2. saying Praise the LORD in them that were willing while other sat still in Israel.

3. ராஜாக்களே, கேளுங்கள்; அதிபதிகளே, செவிகொடுங்கள்; நான் கர்த்தரைப் பாடி, இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரைக் கீர்த்தனம்பண்ணுவேன்.

3. Hear kings and hearken lords, I will sing, and give praise unto the LORD God, of Israel.

4. கர்த்தாவே, நீர் சேயீரிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, ஏதோமின் வெளியிலிருந்து நடந்து வருகையில், பூமி அதிர்ந்தது, வானம் சொரிந்தது, மேகங்களும் தண்ணீராய்ப் பொழிந்தது.

4. LORD when thou departedest out of Seir and camest from the fields of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heaven rained, and the clouds dropped water:

5. கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாகப் பர்வதங்கள் கரைந்தது; இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக சீனாயும் கரைந்தது.

5. the mountains melted before the LORD, even mount Sinai before the LORD God of Israel.

6. ஆனாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய சம்காரின் நாட்களிலும், யாகேலின் நாட்களிலும், பெரும்பாதைகள் பாழாய்க் கிடந்தது; வழி நடக்கிறவர்கள் பக்கவழியாய் நடந்தார்கள்.

6. In the days of Samgar the son of Anath and in the days of Jael, the high ways were unoccupied. And they that walked by paths, went by ways that set compasses about.

7. தெபொராளாகிய நான் எழும்புமளவும், இஸ்ரவேலிலே நான் தாயாக எழும்புமளவும், கிராமங்கள் பாழாய்ப்போயின, இஸ்ரவேலின் கிராமங்கள் பாழாய்ப்போயின.

7. The villages were uninhabited in Israel, were uninhabited: until I Debora arose until I arose a mother in Israel.

8. நூதன தேவர்களைத் தெரிந்து கொண்டார்கள்; அப்பொழுது யுத்தம் வாசல்வரையும் வந்தது; இஸ்ரவேலிலே நாற்பதினாயிரம்பேருக்குள்ளே கேடகமும் ஈட்டியும் காணப்பட்டதுண்டோ?

8. God chose new fashions of war, for when they had war at their gates: there was not seen among forty thousand, either shield or spear in Israel.

9. ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே தங்களை மனப்பூர்வமாய் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்த இஸ்ரவேலின் அதிபதிகளை என் இருதயம் நாடுகிறது; கர்த்தரை ஸ்தோத்திரியுங்கள்.

9. Mine heart loveth the maintainers of the law in Israel, that are willing among the people.

10. வெள்ளைக் கழுதைகளின்மேல் ஏறுகிறவர்களே, நியாயஸ்தலத்தில் வீற்றிருக்கிறவர்களே, வழியில் நடக்கிறவர்களே, இதைப் பிரஸ்தாபியுங்கள்.

10. Bless the LORD ye that ride on goodly Asses and sit in judgment. And ye that walk by the ways make ditties.

11. Now the archers did cry, where men draw water, there shall they tell of the justice(righteousness) of the LORD, and of the justice of his uplandish folk in Israel. And then the people of the LORD went down unto the gates.

12. விழி, விழி, தெபொராளே, விழி, விழி, பாட்டுப்பாடு; பாராக்கே, எழும்பு; அபினோகாமின் குமாரனே, உன்னைச் சிறையாக்கினவர்களைச் சிறையாக்கிக்கொண்டுபோ.

13. Then they that had escaped, reigned over the proudest of the people. The LORD reigneth over the strong.

14. அமலேக்குக்கு விரோதமாக இவர்களுடைய வேர் எப்பிராயீமிலிருந்து துளிர்த்தது; உன் ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே பென்யமீன் மனுஷர் உனக்குப் பின்சென்றார்கள்; மாகீரிலிருந்து அதிபதிகளும், செபுலோனிலிருந்து எழுதுகோலைப் பிடிக்கிறவர்களும் இறங்கிவந்தார்கள்.

14. Ephraim was the first against Amalek, and after them BenJamin, among the people. Of Machir came learned men in the law, and of Zabulon that well could draw with the pen of a scribe.

15. இசக்காரின் பிரபுக்களும் தெபொராளோடே இருந்தார்கள்; பாராக்கைப்போல இசக்கார் மனுஷரும் பள்ளத்தாக்கில் கால்நடையாய் அனுப்பப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்; ரூபனின் பிரிவினைகளால் உண்டான இருதயத்தின் நினைவுகள் மிகுதி.

15. The lords of Isacar were with Debora. And as Barak, even so was Isacar sent into the valley afoot. But in the divisions of Ruben, were great imaginations of heart.

16. மந்தைகளின் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்க, நீ தொழுவங்களின் நடுவே இருந்துவிட்டதென்ன? ரூபனின் பிரிவினைகளால் மனோவிசாரங்கள் மிகுதி.

16. Wherefore abodest thou among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks. In the divisions of Ruben, great were the imaginations of heart.

17. கீலேயாத் மனுஷர் யோர்தானுக்கு அக்கரையிலே இருந்துவிட்டார்கள்; தாண் மனுஷர் கப்பல்களில் தங்கியிருந்ததென்ன? ஆசேர் மனுஷர் கடற்கரையிலே தங்கி, தங்கள் குடாக்களில் தாபரித்தார்கள்.

17. Gilead abode on the other side Jordan, and why tarried Dan in ships. And Aser sat in the havens of the sea, and abode still in his own coasts.

18. செபுலோனும் நப்தலியும் போர்க்களத்து முனையிலே தங்கள் உயிரை எண்ணாமல் மரணத்துக்குத் துணிந்து நின்றார்கள்.

18. But Zabulon is a people that put their lives in jeopardy of death, and Nephthalim in like manner, even unto the top of the fields.

19. ராஜாக்கள் வந்து யுத்தம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அப்பொழுது கானானியரின் ராஜாக்கள் மெகிதோவின் தண்ணீர் அருகான தானாக்கிலே யுத்தம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அவர்களுக்குத் திரவியக்கொள்ளை கிடைக்கவில்லை.

19. Kings came and fought. Then fought the king of Canaan at Thanach, upon the water of Magedo. But the silver that they coveted, they carried not away.

20. வானத்திலிருந்து யுத்தம் உண்டாயிற்று; நட்சத்திரங்கள் தங்கள் அயனங்களிலிருந்து சிசெராவோடே யுத்தம்பண்ணின.

20. From heaven came battle: for the stars being in their course, fought against Sisara.

21. கீசோன் நதி, பூர்வ நதியாகிய கீசோன் நதியே, அவர்களை அடித்துக்கொண்டு போயிற்று; என் ஆத்துமாவே, நீ பலவான்களை மிதித்தாய்.

21. The river of Kison caught them away: that ancient river the river Kison. My soul: tread thou the mighty underfoot.

22. அப்பொழுது குதிரைகளின் குளம்புகள், பாய்ச்சலினாலே, பலவான்களின் பாய்ச்சலினாலேயே, பிளந்துபோயின.

22. Then they malled the horses' legs, that their mighty coursers left prancing.

23. மேரோசைச் சபியுங்கள்; அதின் குடிகளைச் சபிக்கவே சபியுங்கள் என்று கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் சொல்லுகிறார்; அவர்கள் கர்த்தர் பட்சத்தில் துணை நிற்க வரவில்லை; பராக்கிரமசாலிகளுக்கு விரோதமாய் அவர்கள் கர்த்தர் பட்சத்தில் துணைநிற்க வரவில்லையே.

23. Curse Meroz bade the angel of the LORD; Curse; Curse the inhabiters thereof because they came not forth to help the LORD, to help the LORD among the mighty.

24. ஸ்திரீகளுக்குள்ளே கேனியனான ஏபேரின் மனைவியாகிய யாகேல் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்ட்டவள்; கூடாரத்தில் வாசமாயிருக்கிற ஸ்திரீகளுக்குள்ளே அவள் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவளே.

24. Blessed be Jael the wife of Haber the Kenite, above other women: above other women blessed be she in the tent.

25. தண்ணீரைக் கேட்டான், பாலைக் கொடுத்தாள்; ராஜாக்களின் கிண்ணியிலே வெண்ணெயைக் கொண்டுவந்து கொடுத்தாள்.

25. He asked water, but she gave him milk, and brought butter in a goodly dish.

26. தன் கையால் ஆணியையும், தன் வலது கையால் தொழிலாளரின் சுத்தியையும் பிடித்து, சிசெராவை அடித்தாள்; அவன் நெறியில் உருவக்கடாவி, அவன் தலையை உடைத்துப்போட்டாள்.

26. She caught a nail in her left hand, and a working hammer in her right, and nailed Sisara and wounded his head and pierced and went thorow his temples.

27. அவள் கால் அருகே அவன் மடங்கி விழுந்துகிடந்தான், அவள் கால் அருகே மடங்கி விழுந்தான்; அவன் எங்கே மடங்கி விழுந்தானோ அங்கே மடிந்துகிடந்தான்.

27. Between her feet he bowed himself, fell down and lay still: Between her feet he bowed himself and fell. And whither he bowed himself, thither he fell brought to nought.

28. சிசெராவின் தாய் ஜன்னலில் நின்று பலகணி வழியாய்ப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்து: அவனுடைய இரதம் வராமல் பிந்திப்போனதென்ன? அவனுடைய இரதங்களின் ஓட்டம் தாமதிக்கிறதென்ன என்று புலம்பினாள்.

28. Thorow a window looked Sisara's mother and howled thorow a lattice, why abideth his chariot so long, that it cometh not, why tarry the wheels of his wagons?

29. அவளுடைய நாயகிகளில் புத்திசாலிகள் அவளுக்கு உத்தரவு சொன்னதுமின்றி, அவள் தானும் தனக்கு மறுமொழியாக:

29. The wisest of her ladies answered her: yea and she answered her own words herself,

30. அவர்கள் கொள்ளையைக் கண்டுபிடிக்கவில்லையோ, அதைப் பங்கிடவேண்டாமோ, ஆளுக்கு இரண்டொரு பெண்களையும், சிசெராவுக்குக் கொள்ளையிட்ட பலவருணமான ஆடைகளையும், கொள்ளையிட்ட பலவருணமான சித்திரத் தையலாடைகளையும், கொள்ளையிட்டவர்களின் கழுத்துக்கு இருபுறமும் பொருந்தும் சித்திரத்தையலுள்ள பலவருணமான ஆடையையும் கொடுக்கவேண்டாமோ என்றாள்.

30. haply, they have found, and divide the spoil. A maid, yea two maids for a piece: a spoil of divers colours for Sisara, a spoil of divers colours with broidered works, divers coloured broidered works for the neck for a prey.

31. கர்த்தாவே, உம்மைப் பகைக்கிற யாவரும் இப்படியே அழியக்கடவர்கள்; அவரில் அன்புகூருகிறவர்களோ, வல்லமையோடே உதிக்கிற சூரியனைப்போல இருக்கக்கடவர்கள் என்று பாடினார்கள். பின்பு தேசம் நாற்பது வருஷம் அமைதலாயிருந்தது.
