17. Gilead, beyond the Jordan, rests; why does Dan spend his time in ships? Asher, who dwells along the shore, is resting in his coves.

18. செபுலோனும் நப்தலியும் போர்க்களத்து முனையிலே தங்கள் உயிரை எண்ணாமல் மரணத்துக்குத் துணிந்து நின்றார்கள்.

18. Zebulun is the people defying death; Naphtali, too, on the open heights!

19. ராஜாக்கள் வந்து யுத்தம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அப்பொழுது கானானியரின் ராஜாக்கள் மெகிதோவின் தண்ணீர் அருகான தானாக்கிலே யுத்தம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அவர்களுக்குத் திரவியக்கொள்ளை கிடைக்கவில்லை.

28. சிசெராவின் தாய் ஜன்னலில் நின்று பலகணி வழியாய்ப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்து: அவனுடைய இரதம் வராமல் பிந்திப்போனதென்ன? அவனுடைய இரதங்களின் ஓட்டம் தாமதிக்கிறதென்ன என்று புலம்பினாள்.

28. From the window peered down and wailed the mother of Sisera, from the lattice: 'Why is his chariot so long in coming? why are the hoofbeats of his chariots delayed?'

29. அவளுடைய நாயகிகளில் புத்திசாலிகள் அவளுக்கு உத்தரவு சொன்னதுமின்றி, அவள் தானும் தனக்கு மறுமொழியாக:

30. 'They must be dividing the spoil they took: there must be a damsel or two for each man, Spoils of dyed cloth as Sisera's spoil, an ornate shawl or two for me in the spoil.'

31. கர்த்தாவே, உம்மைப் பகைக்கிற யாவரும் இப்படியே அழியக்கடவர்கள்; அவரில் அன்புகூருகிறவர்களோ, வல்லமையோடே உதிக்கிற சூரியனைப்போல இருக்கக்கடவர்கள் என்று பாடினார்கள். பின்பு தேசம் நாற்பது வருஷம் அமைதலாயிருந்தது.
