1. Why laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, all evil speakings,

12. Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

16. As free, and not using your liberty for a cloak of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.

17. எல்லாரையும் கனம்பண்ணுங்கள்; சகோதரரிடத்தில் அன்புகூருங்கள்; தேவனுக்குப் பயந்திருங்கள்; ராஜாவைக் கனம்பண்ணுங்கள்.

17. Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

18. Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the fraudulent.

19. ஏனெனில், தேவன்மேல் பற்றுதலாயிருக்கிற மனச்சாட்சியினிமித்தம் ஒருவன் அநியாயமாய்ப் பாடுபட்டு உபத்திரவங்களைப் பொறுமையாய்ச் சகித்தால் அதுவே பிரீதியாயிருக்கும்.

19. For this is thank worthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.

20. நீங்கள் குற்றஞ்செய்து அடிக்கப்படும்போது பொறுமையோடே சகித்தால், அதினால் என்ன கீர்த்தியுண்டு? நீங்கள் நன்மைசெய்து பாடுபடும்போது பொறுமையோடே சகித்தால் அதுவே தேவனுக்குமுன்பாகப் பிரீதியாயிருக்கும்.

20. For what glory is it, if, when you be buffeted for your faults, you shall take it patiently? but if, when you do well, and suffer for it, you take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

21. இதற்காக நீங்கள் அழைக்கப்பட்டுமிருக்கிறீர்கள்; ஏனெனில், கிறிஸ்துவும் உங்களுக்காகப் பாடுபட்டு, நீங்கள் தம்முடைய அடிச்சுவடுகளைத் தொடர்ந்து வரும்படி உங்களுக்கு மாதிரியைப் பின்வைத்துப்போனார்.

21. For even hereunto were you called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow his steps:
