1. நீ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து, உயிரோடிருக்கும் நாளெல்லாம், நீயும் உன் குமாரனும் உன் குமாரத்தியும், நான் உனக்கு விதிக்கிற அவருடைய எல்லாக் கற்பனைகளையும் கட்டளைகளையும் கைக்கொள்ளுகிறதினாலே உன் வாழ்நாட்கள் நீடித்திருக்கும்படி,

1. And these [are] the commands, and the statutes, and the judgments, as many as the Lord our God gave commandment, to teach you to do so in the land on which you enter to inherit it.

2. நீங்கள் சுதந்தரிக்கப்போகிற தேசத்திலே கைக்கொள்வதற்காக, உங்களுக்குப் போதிக்கவேண்டும் என்று உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் கற்பித்த கற்பனைகளும் கட்டளைகளும் நியாயங்களும் இவைகளே.

2. That you may fear the Lord your God, and keep all His statutes, and His commandments, which I command you today, you, and your sons, and your sons' sons, all the days of your life, that you may live many days.

3. இஸ்ரவேலே, நீ நன்றாயிருப்பதற்கும், உன் பிதாக்களின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குச் சொன்னபடி, பாலும் தேனும் ஓடுகிற தேசத்தில் நீ மிகவும் விருத்தியடைவதற்கும், அவைகளுக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து, அவைகளின்படி செய்யச் சாவதானமாயிரு.

3. Therefore hear, O Israel, and observe to do them, that it may be well with you, and that you may be greatly multiplied, as the Lord God of your fathers said that He would give you a land flowing with milk and honey. And these [are] the statutes and the judgments, which the Lord commanded the children of Israel in the wilderness, when they had gone forth from the land of Egypt.

4. இஸ்ரவேலே கேள்: நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் ஒருவரே கர்த்தர்.

4. Hear, O Israel, The Lord our God is one Lord.

5. நீ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடத்தில் உன் முழு இருதயத்தோடும், உன் முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும், உன் முழுப் பலத்தோடும் அன்புக்கூருவாயாக.

5. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your mind, and with all your soul, and all your strength.

6. இன்று நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிற இந்த வார்த்தைகள் உன் இருதயத்தில் இருக்கக்கடவது.

6. And these words, all that I command you this day, shall be in your heart and in your soul.

7. நீ அவைகளை உன் பிள்ளைகளுக்குக் கருத்தாய்ப் போதித்து, நீ உன் வீட்டில் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறபோதும், வழியில் நடக்கிறபோதும், படுத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறபோதும், எழுந்திருக்கிறபோதும் அவைகளைக் குறித்துப் பேசி,

7. And you shall teach them to your children, and you shall speak of them sitting in the house, and walking by the way, and lying down, and rising up.

8. அவைகளை உன் கையின்மேல் அடையாளமாகக் கட்டிக்கொள்வாயாக; அவைகள் உன் கண்களுக்கு நடுவே ஞாபக்குறியாய் இருக்கக்கடவது.

8. And you shall fasten them for a sign upon your hand, and it shall be immovable before your eyes.

9. அவைகளை உன் வீட்டு நிலைகளிலும், உன் வாசல்களிலும் எழுதுவாயாக.

9. And you shall write them on the lintels of your houses and of your gates.

10. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குக் கொடுப்பேன் என்று ஆபிரகாம் ஈசாக்கு யாக்கோபு என்பவர்களாகிய உன் பிதாக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்டுக் கொடுத்த தேசத்தில் உன்னைப் பிரவேசிக்கப்பண்ணும்போதும், நீ கட்டாத வசதியான பெரிய பட்டணங்களையும்,

10. And it shall come to pass, when the Lord your God has brought you into the land which He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, and to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you great and beautiful cities which you did not build,

11. நீ நிரப்பாத சகல நல்ல வஸ்துக்களாலும் நிரம்பிய வீடுகளையும், நீ வெட்டாமல் வெட்டப்பட்டிருக்கிற துரவுகளையும், நீ நடாத திராட்சத்தோட்டங்களையும் ஒலிவத்தோப்புகளையும், அவர் உனக்குக் கொடுப்பதினால், நீ சாப்பிட்டுத் திருப்தியாகும்போதும்,

11. houses full of all good things which you did not fill, wells dug in the rock which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, then having eaten and been filled,

12. நீ அடிமைப்பட்டிருந்த வீடாகிய எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து உன்னைப் புறப்படப்பண்ணின கர்த்தரை மறவாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிரு.

12. beware lest you forget the Lord your God that brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

13. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து, அவருக்கே ஆராதனைசெய்து, அவருடைய நாமத்தைக்கொண்டே ஆணையிடுவாயாக.

13. You shall fear the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve; and you shall cleave to Him, and by His name you shall swear.

14. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய கோபம் உன்மேல் மூண்டு, உன்னைப் பூமியில் வைக்காமல் அழித்துப்போடாதபடிக்கு, உங்களைச் சுற்றிலும் இருக்கிற ஜனங்களின் தேவர்களாகிய அந்நிய தேவர்களைப் பின்பற்றாதிருப்பீர்களாக.

14. Go not after other gods, of the gods of the nations round about you,

15. உன் நடுவிலிருக்கிற உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் எரிச்சலுள்ள தேவனாயிருக்கிறாரே.

15. for the Lord your God in the midst of you [is] a jealous God, lest the Lord your God be very angry with you, and destroy you from off the face of the earth.

16. நீங்கள் மாசாவிலே செய்ததுபோல, உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரைப் பரிட்சை பாராதிருப்பீர்களாக.

16. You shall not tempt the Lord your God, as you tempted Him in the temptation.

17. உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்குக் கற்பித்த அவருடைய கற்பனைகளையும் அவருடைய சாட்சிகளையும் அவருடைய கட்டளைகளையும் கருத்தாய்க் கைக்கொள்வீர்களாக.

17. You shall by all means keep the commandments of the Lord your God, the testimonies, and the statutes, which He has commanded you.

18. நீ நன்றாயிருக்கிறதற்கும், கர்த்தர் உன் பிதாக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்டுக் கொடுத்த நல்ல தேசத்தில் நீ பிரவேசித்து, அதைச் சுதந்தரிப்பதற்கும்,

18. And you shall do that which is pleasing and good before the Lord your God, that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and inherit the good land, which the Lord swore to your fathers,

19. கர்த்தர் தாம் சொன்னபடி, உன் சத்துருக்களையெல்லாம் உன் முகத்திற்கு முன்பாகத் துரத்திவிடுவதற்கும், நீ கர்த்தருடைய பார்வைக்குச் செம்மையும் நன்மையுமாய் இருக்கிறதைச் செய்வாயாக.

19. to chase all your enemies from before your face, as the Lord said.

20. நாளைக்கு உன் புத்திரன்: நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட இந்த சாட்சிகளும் கட்டளைகளும் நியாயங்களும் என்ன என்று உன்னிடத்தில் கேட்டால்;
எபேசியர் 6:4

20. And it shall come to pass, when your son shall ask you at a future time, saying, What are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the Lord our God has commanded us?

21. நீ உன் புத்திரனை நோக்கி: நாங்கள் எகிப்திலே பார்வோனுக்கு அடிமைகளாயிருந்தோம்; கர்த்தர் பலத்த கையினாலே எங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினார்.

21. Then shall you say to your son, We were slaves to Pharaoh in the land of Egypt, and the Lord brought us forth from there with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm.

22. கர்த்தர் எங்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக, எகிப்தின்மேலும் பார்வோன் மேலும் அவன் குடும்பம் அனைத்தின்மேலும் கொடிதான பெரிய அடையாளங்களையும் அற்புதங்களையும் விளங்கப்பண்ணி,

22. And the Lord did great signs and wonders in Egypt, on Pharaoh and on his house before us.

23. தாம் நம்முடைய பிதாக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்டுக் கொடுத்த தேசத்துக்கு எங்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அதை நமக்குக் கொடுக்கும்படி எங்களை அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினார்.

23. And He brought us out from there to give us this land, which He swore to give to our fathers.

24. இந்நாளில் இருக்கிறதுபோல, நம்மை அவர் உயிரோடே காப்பதற்கும், எந்நாளும் நன்றாயிருக்கிறதற்கும், நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து இந்த எல்லாக் கட்டளைகளின்படியேயும் செய்யக் கர்த்தர் நமக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

24. And the Lord commanded us to observe all these ordinances; to fear the Lord our God, that it may be well with us forever, that we may live, as it is this day.

25. நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் நமக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே நாம் அவர் சமூகத்தில் இந்த எல்லாக் கட்டளைகளின்படியும் செய்யச் சாவதானமாயிருந்தால், நமக்கு நீதியாயிருக்கும் என்று சொல்வாயாக.

25. And there shall be mercy to us, if we take heed to keep all these commandments before the Lord our God, as He has commanded us.
