1. நீ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து, உயிரோடிருக்கும் நாளெல்லாம், நீயும் உன் குமாரனும் உன் குமாரத்தியும், நான் உனக்கு விதிக்கிற அவருடைய எல்லாக் கற்பனைகளையும் கட்டளைகளையும் கைக்கொள்ளுகிறதினாலே உன் வாழ்நாட்கள் நீடித்திருக்கும்படி,

1. The Lord your God has directed me to teach you his commands, rules and laws. Obey them in the land you will take over when you go across the Jordan River.

2. நீங்கள் சுதந்தரிக்கப்போகிற தேசத்திலே கைக்கொள்வதற்காக, உங்களுக்குப் போதிக்கவேண்டும் என்று உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் கற்பித்த கற்பனைகளும் கட்டளைகளும் நியாயங்களும் இவைகளே.

2. Then you, your children and their children after them will have respect for the Lord your God as long as you live. Keep all of his rules and commands I'm giving you. If you do, you will enjoy long life.

3. இஸ்ரவேலே, நீ நன்றாயிருப்பதற்கும், உன் பிதாக்களின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குச் சொன்னபடி, பாலும் தேனும் ஓடுகிற தேசத்தில் நீ மிகவும் விருத்தியடைவதற்கும், அவைகளுக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து, அவைகளின்படி செய்யச் சாவதானமாயிரு.

3. Israel, listen to me. Make sure you obey me. Then things will go well with you. Your numbers will increase greatly in a land that has plenty of milk and honey. That's what the Lord, the God of your parents, promised you.

4. Israel, listen to me. The Lord is our God. The Lord is the one and only God.

5. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your strength.

6. இன்று நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிற இந்த வார்த்தைகள் உன் இருதயத்தில் இருக்கக்கடவது.

6. The commandments I give you today must be in your hearts.

7. நீ அவைகளை உன் பிள்ளைகளுக்குக் கருத்தாய்ப் போதித்து, நீ உன் வீட்டில் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறபோதும், வழியில் நடக்கிறபோதும், படுத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறபோதும், எழுந்திருக்கிறபோதும் அவைகளைக் குறித்துப் பேசி,

7. Make sure your children learn them. Talk about them when you are at home. Talk about them when you walk along the road. Speak about them when you go to bed. And speak about them when you get up.

8. அவைகளை உன் கையின்மேல் அடையாளமாகக் கட்டிக்கொள்வாயாக; அவைகள் உன் கண்களுக்கு நடுவே ஞாபக்குறியாய் இருக்கக்கடவது.

8. Write them down and tie them on your hands as a reminder. Also tie them on your foreheads.

9. அவைகளை உன் வீட்டு நிலைகளிலும், உன் வாசல்களிலும் எழுதுவாயாக.

9. Write them on the doorframes of your houses. Also write them on your gates.

10. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குக் கொடுப்பேன் என்று ஆபிரகாம் ஈசாக்கு யாக்கோபு என்பவர்களாகிய உன் பிதாக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்டுக் கொடுத்த தேசத்தில் உன்னைப் பிரவேசிக்கப்பண்ணும்போதும், நீ கட்டாத வசதியான பெரிய பட்டணங்களையும்,

10. The Lord your God will bring you into the land of Canaan. He took an oath. He promised he would give the land to your fathers. He promised it to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The land has large, wealthy cities you didn't build.

11. நீ நிரப்பாத சகல நல்ல வஸ்துக்களாலும் நிரம்பிய வீடுகளையும், நீ வெட்டாமல் வெட்டப்பட்டிருக்கிற துரவுகளையும், நீ நடாத திராட்சத்தோட்டங்களையும் ஒலிவத்தோப்புகளையும், அவர் உனக்குக் கொடுப்பதினால், நீ சாப்பிட்டுத் திருப்தியாகும்போதும்,

11. It has houses that are filled with all kinds of good things you didn't provide. It has wells you didn't dig. And it has vineyards and groves of olive trees you didn't plant. You will have plenty to eat.

12. நீ அடிமைப்பட்டிருந்த வீடாகிய எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து உன்னைப் புறப்படப்பண்ணின கர்த்தரை மறவாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிரு.

12. But be careful that you don't forget the Lord. Remember that he brought you out of Egypt. That's the land where you were slaves.

13. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து, அவருக்கே ஆராதனைசெய்து, அவருடைய நாமத்தைக்கொண்டே ஆணையிடுவாயாக.

13. Worship the Lord your God. He is the only one you should serve. When you make promises, take your oaths in his name.

14. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய கோபம் உன்மேல் மூண்டு, உன்னைப் பூமியில் வைக்காமல் அழித்துப்போடாதபடிக்கு, உங்களைச் சுற்றிலும் இருக்கிற ஜனங்களின் தேவர்களாகிய அந்நிய தேவர்களைப் பின்பற்றாதிருப்பீர்களாக.

14. Don't follow other gods. Don't worship the gods of the nations that are around you.

15. உன் நடுவிலிருக்கிற உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் எரிச்சலுள்ள தேவனாயிருக்கிறாரே.

15. The Lord your God is among you. He is a jealous God. If you worship other gods, his anger will burn against you. And he will destroy you from the face of the land.

16. நீங்கள் மாசாவிலே செய்ததுபோல, உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரைப் பரிட்சை பாராதிருப்பீர்களாக.

16. Don't put the Lord your God to the test as you did at Massah.

17. உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்குக் கற்பித்த அவருடைய கற்பனைகளையும் அவருடைய சாட்சிகளையும் அவருடைய கட்டளைகளையும் கருத்தாய்க் கைக்கொள்வீர்களாக.

17. Be sure to obey the Lord's commands. Follow the terms and rules he has given you.

18. நீ நன்றாயிருக்கிறதற்கும், கர்த்தர் உன் பிதாக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்டுக் கொடுத்த நல்ல தேசத்தில் நீ பிரவேசித்து, அதைச் சுதந்தரிப்பதற்கும்,

18. Do what is right and good in the Lord's eyes. Then things will go well with you. You will go in and take over the land. It's the good land the Lord promised with an oath to your people long ago.

19. கர்த்தர் தாம் சொன்னபடி, உன் சத்துருக்களையெல்லாம் உன் முகத்திற்கு முன்பாகத் துரத்திவிடுவதற்கும், நீ கர்த்தருடைய பார்வைக்குச் செம்மையும் நன்மையுமாய் இருக்கிறதைச் செய்வாயாக.

19. You will drive out all of your enemies to make room for you. That's what the Lord said would happen.

20. நாளைக்கு உன் புத்திரன்: நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட இந்த சாட்சிகளும் கட்டளைகளும் நியாயங்களும் என்ன என்று உன்னிடத்தில் கேட்டால்;

20. Later on, your son might ask you, 'What is the meaning of the terms, rules and laws the Lord our God has commanded you to obey?'

21. நீ உன் புத்திரனை நோக்கி: நாங்கள் எகிப்திலே பார்வோனுக்கு அடிமைகளாயிருந்தோம்; கர்த்தர் பலத்த கையினாலே எங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினார்.

21. If he does, tell him, 'We were Pharaoh's slaves in Egypt. But the Lord used his mighty hand to bring us out of Egypt.

22. கர்த்தர் எங்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக, எகிப்தின்மேலும் பார்வோன் மேலும் அவன் குடும்பம் அனைத்தின்மேலும் கொடிதான பெரிய அடையாளங்களையும் அற்புதங்களையும் விளங்கப்பண்ணி,

22. With our own eyes we saw the Lord send miraculous signs and wonders. They were great and terrible. He sent them on Egypt and Pharaoh and everyone in his house.

23. தாம் நம்முடைய பிதாக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்டுக் கொடுத்த தேசத்துக்கு எங்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அதை நமக்குக் கொடுக்கும்படி எங்களை அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினார்.

23. But the Lord brought us out of Egypt. He planned to bring us into the land of Canaan and give it to us. It's the land he promised with an oath to our people long ago.

24. இந்நாளில் இருக்கிறதுபோல, நம்மை அவர் உயிரோடே காப்பதற்கும், எந்நாளும் நன்றாயிருக்கிறதற்கும், நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து இந்த எல்லாக் கட்டளைகளின்படியேயும் செய்யக் கர்த்தர் நமக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

24. 'The Lord our God commanded us to obey all of his rules. He commanded us to have respect for him. If we do, we will always succeed and be kept alive. That's what is happening today.

25. நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் நமக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே நாம் அவர் சமூகத்தில் இந்த எல்லாக் கட்டளைகளின்படியும் செய்யச் சாவதானமாயிருந்தால், நமக்கு நீதியாயிருக்கும் என்று சொல்வாயாக.

25. We must make sure we obey the whole law in the sight of the Lord our God. That's what he has commanded us to do. If we obey his law, we'll be doing what he requires of us.'
