1. மோசே இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாரையும் அழைப்பித்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி: இஸ்ரவேலரே, நான் இன்று உங்கள் காதுகள் கேட்கச் சொல்லும் கட்டளைகளையும் நியாயங்களையும் கேளுங்கள்; நீங்கள் அவைகளின்படியே செய்யும்படிக்கு அவைகளைக் கற்றுக் கைக்கொள்ளக்கடவீர்கள்.

1. And Moses called unto all Israel and said unto them: Hear Israel the ordinances and laws which I speak in thine ears this day, and learn them and take heed that ye do them.

2. The LORD(Loode) our God made an appointment with us in Horeb.

3. அந்த உடன்படிக்கையைக் கர்த்தர் நம்முடைய பிதாக்களுடன் பண்ணாமல், இந்நாளில் இங்கே உயிரோடிருக்கிற நம்மெல்லாரோடும் பண்ணினார்.

3. The LORD made not this bond with our fathers, but with us: we are they, which are all here alive this day.

4. கர்த்தர் மலையிலே அக்கினியின் நடுவிலிருந்து முகமுகமாய் உங்களோடே பேசினார்.

4. The LORD talked with you face to face in the mount out of the fire.

5. கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையை உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கும்படி, அக்காலத்திலே நான் கர்த்தருக்கும், உங்களுக்கும் நடுவாக நின்றேன்; நீங்கள் அக்கினிக்குப் பயந்து மலையில் ஏறாமல் இருந்தீர்கள்; அப்பொழுது அவர் சொன்னது என்னவென்றால்:

5. And I stood between the LORD and you the same time, to shew you the saying of the LORD. For ye were afraid of the fire and therefore went not up into the mount and he said:

6. உன்னை அடிமைத்தன வீடாகிய எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணின உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் நானே.

6. I am the LORD thy God which brought thee out of the land of Egypt the house of bondage.

7. என்னையன்றி உனக்கு வேறே தேவர்கள் உண்டாயிருக்க வேண்டாம்.

7. Thou shalt have therefore none other gods in my presence.

8. மேலே வானத்திலும், கீழே பூமியிலும், பூமியின்கீழ்த் தண்ணீரிலும் உண்டாயிருக்கிறவைகளுக்கு ஒப்பான ஒரு சுரூபத்தையாகிலும் யாதொரு விக்கிரகத்தையாகிலும் நீ உனக்கு உண்டாக்கவேண்டாம்.

8. Thou shalt make thee no graven Image of any manner likeness that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, or in the water beneath the earth.

9. நீ அவைகளை நமஸ்கரிக்கவும் சேவிக்கவும் வேண்டாம்; உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தராயிருக்கிற நான் எரிச்சலுள்ள தேவனாயிருந்து, என்னைப் பகைக்கிறவர்களைக் குறித்து பிதாக்களுடைய அக்கிரமத்தைப் பிள்ளைகளிடத்தில் மூன்றாம், நான்காம் தலைமுறைமட்டும் விசாரிக்கிறவராயிருக்கிறேன்.

9. Thou shalt neither bow thyself unto them nor serve them, for I the LORD thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the wickedness of the fathers upon the children, even in the third and the fourth generation, among them that hate me:

10. என்னிடத்தில் அன்புகூர்ந்து, என் கற்பனைகளைக் கைக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களுக்கோ ஆயிரம் தலைமுறைமட்டும் இரக்கஞ்செய்கிறவராயிருக்கிறேன்.

10. and shew mercy upon thousands among them that love me and keep my commandments.

11. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தை வீணிலே வழங்காதிருப்பாயாக; கர்த்தர் தம்முடைய நாமத்தை வீணிலே வழங்குகிறவனைத் தண்டியாமல் விடார்.

11. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless, that taketh his name in vain.

14. but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: thou shalt do no manner work, neither thou nor thy son nor thy daughter nor thy servant nor thy maid nor thine ox nor thine ass nor any of thy cattle, nor the stranger that is within thy city, that thy servant and thy maid may rest as well as thou.

15. நீ எகிப்து தேசத்தில் அடிமையாயிருந்தாய் என்றும், உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னை அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து வல்லமையுள்ள கரத்தினாலும் ஓங்கிய புயத்தினாலும் புறப்படப்பண்ணினார் என்றும் நினைப்பாயாக; ஆகையால் ஓய்வு நாளை ஆசரிக்க உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

15. And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt and how that the LORD God, brought thee out thence with a mighty hand and a stretched out arm. For which cause the LORD thy God commandeth thee to keep the Sabbath day.

16. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குக் கொடுக்கிற தேசத்திலே உன் நாட்கள் நீடித்திருப்பதற்கும், நீ நன்றாயிருப்பதற்கும், உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே, உன் தகப்பனையும் உன் தாயையும் கனம்பண்ணுவாயாக.

16. Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee: that thou mayst prolong thy days, and that it may go well with thee on the land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

20. பிறனுக்கு விரோதமாகப் பொய்ச்சாட்சி சொல்லாதிருப்பாயாக.

20. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

21. பிறனுடைய மனைவியை இச்சியாதிருப்பாயாக; பிறனுடைய வீட்டையும், அவனுடைய நிலத்தையும், அவனுடைய வேலைக்காரனையும், அவனுடைய வேலைக்காரியையும், அவனுடைய எருதையும், அவனுடைய கழுதையையும், பின்னும் பிறனுக்குள்ள யாதொன்றையும் இச்சியாதிருப்பாயாக என்றார்.

21. Thou shalt not lust after thy neighbour's wife: thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, field, servant, maid, ox, ass nor ought that is thy neighbour's.

22. இந்த வார்த்தைகளைக் கர்த்தர் மலையிலே அக்கினியிலும் மேகத்திலும் காரிருளிலும் இருந்து உங்கள் சபையார் எல்லாரோடும் மகா சத்தத்துடனே சொன்னார்; அவைகளோடு ஒன்றும் கூட்டாமல், அவைகளை இரண்டு கற்பலகைகளில் எழுதி, என்னிடத்தில் கொடுத்தார்.

22. These words the LORD spake unto all your multitude in the mount out of the fire, cloud and darkness, with a loud voice, and added no more thereto, and wrote them in two tables of stone and delivered them unto me.

23. மலை அக்கினியாய் எரிகையில் இருளின் நடுவிலிருந்து உண்டான சத்தத்தை நீங்கள் கேட்டபோது, கோத்திரத் தலைவரும் மூப்பருமாகிய நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் என்னிடத்தில் வந்து:

23. But as soon as ye heard the voice out of the darkness and saw the hill burn with fire, ye came unto me all the heads of your tribes and your elders:

24. இதோ, நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் நமக்குத் தம்முடைய மகிமையையும் தம்முடைய மகத்துவத்தையும் காண்பித்தார்; அக்கினியின் நடுவிலிருந்து உண்டான அவருடைய சத்தத்தையும் கேட்டோம்; தேவன் மனுஷனோடே பேசியும், அவன் உயிரோடிருக்கிறதை இந்நாளிலே கண்டோம்.

24. and ye said: behold, the LORD our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the fire, and we have seen this day that God may talk with a man and he yet live.

25. இப்பொழுது நாங்கள் சாவானேன்? இந்தப் பெரிய அக்கினி எங்களைப் பட்சிக்குமே; நாங்கள் இன்னும் நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்போமாகில் சாவோம்.

25. And now wherefore should we die that this great fire should consume us: If we should hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, we should die.

26. நாங்கள் கேட்டதுபோல, அக்கினியின் நடுவிலிருந்து பேசுகிற ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனுடைய சத்தத்தை மாம்சமானவர்களில் யாராவது கேட்டு உயிரோடிருந்தது உண்டோ?

26. For what is any flesh that he should hear the voice of the living God speaking out of the fire as we have done and should yet live:

27. நீரோ சமீபித்துப்போய், நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்வதையெல்லாம் கேட்டு, நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்வதையெல்லாம் நீரே எங்களுக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டும்; நாங்கள் கேட்டு, அதின்படியே செய்வோம் என்றீர்கள்.

27. Go thou and hear all that the LORD our God sayeth, and tell thou unto us all that the LORD our God sayeth unto thee, and we will hear it and do it.

28. நீங்கள் என்னோடே பேசுகையில், கர்த்தர் உங்கள் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டு, கர்த்தர் என்னை நோக்கி; இந்த ஜனங்கள் உன்னோடே சொன்ன வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டேன்; அவர்கள் சொன்னது எல்லாம் நன்றாய்ச் சொன்னார்கள்.

28. And the LORD heard the voice of your words when ye spake unto me, and he said unto me: I have heard the voice of the words of this people which they have spoke unto thee, they have well said all that they have said.

29. அவர்களும் அவர்கள் பிள்ளைகளும் என்றென்றைக்கும் நன்றாயிருக்கும்படி, அவர்கள் எந்நாளும் எனக்குப் பயந்து, என் கற்பனைகளையெல்லாம் கைக்கொள்வதற்கேற்ற இருதயம் அவர்களுக்கு இருந்தால் நலமாயிருக்கும்.

29. Oh that they had such an heart with them to fear me and keep all my commandments alway, that it might go well with them and with their children for ever.

30. நீ போய்: உங்கள் கூடாரங்களுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போங்கள் என்று அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்.

30. Go and say unto them: get you into your tents again,

31. நீயோ இங்கே என்னிடத்தில் நில்; நான் அவர்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரமாகக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தில் அவர்கள் செய்யும்படி நீ அவர்களுக்குப் போதிக்கவேண்டிய சகல கற்பனைகளையும் கட்டளைகளையும் நியாயங்களையும் உனக்குச் சொல்லுவேன் என்றார்.

31. but stand thou here before me and I will tell thee all the commandments, ordinances and laws which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess.

32. உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியே செய்ய சாவதானமாயிருங்கள்; வலதுபுறம் இடதுபுறம் சாயாதிருப்பீர்களாக.

32. Take heed therefore that ye do as the LORD your God hath commanded you, and turn not aside: either to the right hand or to the left:

33. நீங்கள் சுதந்தரிக்கும் தேசத்திலே பிழைத்து சுகித்து நீடித்திருக்கும்படி, உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்கு விதித்த வழிகளெல்லாவற்றிலும் நடக்கக்கடவீர்கள்.

33. but walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live and that it may go well with you and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.
