1. அக்காலத்திலே கர்த்தர் என்னை நோக்கி: நீ முந்தினவைகளுக்கொத்த இரண்டு கற்பலகைகளை வெட்டிக்கொண்டு, மலையின்மேல் ஏறி, என்னிடத்தில் வா; ஒரு மரப்பெட்டியையும் செய்வாயாக.

1. 'At that time hath Jehovah said unto me, Grave for thee two tables of stone, like the first, and come up unto Me, into the mount, and thou hast made for thee an ark of wood,

2. நீ உடைத்துப்போட்ட முந்தின பலகைகளில் இருந்த வார்த்தைகளை நான் அந்தப் பலகைகளில் எழுதுவேன்; நீ அவைகளைப் பெட்டியிலே வைப்பாயாக என்றார்.

2. and I write on the tables the words which were on the first tables, which thou hast broken, and thou hast placed them in the ark;

3. அப்படியே நான் சீத்திம் மரத்தினால் ஒரு பெட்டியைச் செய்து, முந்தினவைகளுக்கொத்த இரண்டு கற்பலகைகளை வெட்டி, அவைகளை என் கையிலே எடுத்துக்கொண்டு மலையில் ஏறினேன்.

3. and I make an ark of shittim wood, and grave two tables of stone like the first, and go up to the mount, and the two tables in my hand.

4. முன்னே சபைகூடிவந்த நாளில் கர்த்தர் மலையில் அக்கினி நடுவிலிருந்து உங்களுக்கு விளம்பின பத்துக்கற்பனைகளையும் அவர் முன் எழுதியிருந்த பிரகாரம் அந்தப் பலகைகளில் எழுதி, அவைகளை என்னிடத்தில் தந்தார்.

4. 'And He writeth on the tables, according to the first writing, the Ten Matters, which Jehovah hath spoken unto you in the mount, out of the midst of the fire, in the day of the assembly, and Jehovah giveth them unto me,

5. அப்பொழுது நான் திரும்பி மலையிலிருந்து இறங்கி, அந்தப் பலகைகளை நான் செய்த பெட்டியிலே வைத்தேன்; கர்த்தர் எனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே அவைகள் அதிலே வைத்திருக்கிறது.

5. and I turn and come down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made, and they are there, as Jehovah commanded me.

6. பின்பு இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் பெனெயாக்கானுக்கடுத்த பேரோத்திலேயிருந்து மோசெராவுக்குப் பிரயாணம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அங்கே ஆரோன் மரித்து அடக்கம்பண்ணப்பட்டான்; அவன் ஸ்தானத்திலே அவன் குமாரனாகிய எலெயாசார் ஆசாரியனானான்.

6. 'And the sons of Israel have journeyed from Beeroth of the sons of Jaakan to Mosera, there Aaron died, and he is buried there, and Eleazar his son doth act as priest in his stead;

7. அங்கேயிருந்து குத்கோதாவுக்கும், குத்கோதாவிலிருந்து ஆறுகளுள்ள நாடாகிய யோத்பாத்துக்கும் பிரயாணம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

7. thence they journeyed to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of brooks of water.

8. அக்காலத்திலே கர்த்தருடைய உடன்படிக்கைப் பெட்டியைச் சுமப்பதற்கும், இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் நடந்துவருகிறதுபோல, கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியிலே நின்று அவருக்கு ஆராதனை செய்வதற்கும், அவர் நாமத்தைக்கொண்டு ஆசீர்வதிப்பதற்கும், கர்த்தர் லேவியின் கோத்திரத்தைப் பிரித்தெடுத்தார்.

8. 'At that time hath Jehovah separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, to stand before Jehovah, to serve Him, and to bless in His name, unto this day,

9. ஆகையால் லேவிக்கு அவன் சகோதரரோடே பங்கும் சுதந்தரமும் இல்லை; உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அவனுக்குச் சொன்னபடியே, கர்த்தரே அவனுக்குச் சுதந்தரம்.

9. therefore there hath not been to Levi a portion and inheritance with his brethren; Jehovah Himself [is] his inheritance, as Jehovah thy God hath spoken to him.

10. நான் முந்தின பிரகாரமாகவே நாற்பது நாள் இரவும் பகலும் மலையில் இருந்தேன்; கர்த்தர் அந்த முறையும் என் மன்றாட்டைக் கேட்டு, உன்னை அழிக்காமல் விட்டார்.

10. 'And I -- I have stood in the mount, as the former days, forty days and forty nights, and Jehovah hearkeneth unto me also at that time; Jehovah hath not willed to destroy thee.

11. கர்த்தர் என்னை நோக்கி: நான் கொடுப்பேன் என்று அவர்களுடைய பிதாக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்ட தேசத்தில் அவர்கள் போய் அதைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளும்படி, நீ எழுந்து, ஜனத்திற்கு முன்பாகப் பிரயாணப்பட்டுப் போ என்றார்.

11. 'And Jehovah saith unto me, Rise, go to journey before the people, and they go in and possess the land which I have sworn to their fathers to give to them.

12. இப்பொழுதும் இஸ்ரவேலே, நீ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து, அவர் வழிகளிலெல்லாம் நடந்து, அவரிடத்தில் அன்புகூர்ந்து, உன் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் உன் முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும் உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரைச் சேவித்து,

12. 'And now, Israel, what is Jehovah thy God asking from thee, except to fear Jehovah thy God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,

13. நான் இன்று உனக்குக் கற்பிக்கிற கர்த்தருடைய கற்பனைகளையும் அவருடைய கட்டளைகளையும் உனக்கு நன்மையுண்டாகும்படி கைக்கொள்ளவேண்டும் என்பதையே அல்லாமல், வேறே எதை உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னிடத்தில் கேட்கிறார்.

13. to keep the commands of Jehovah, and His statutes which I am commanding thee to-day, for good to thee?

14. இதோ, வானங்களும் வானாதிவானங்களும், பூமியும் அதிலுள்ள யாவும், உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடையவைகள்.

14. 'Lo, to Jehovah thy God [are] the heavens and the heavens of the heavens, the earth and all that [is] in it;

15. ஆனாலும் கர்த்தர் உன் பிதாக்கள்மேல் அன்புகூரும்பொருட்டு அவர்களிடத்தில் பிரியம் வைத்து, அவர்களுக்குப் பின் அவர்களுடைய சந்ததியாகிய உங்களை, இந்நாளில் இருக்கிறபடியே, சகல ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளும் தமக்கென்று தெரிந்துகொண்டார்.

15. only in thy fathers hath Jehovah delighted -- to love them, and He doth fix on their seed after them -- on you, out of all the peoples as [at] this day;

16. and ye have circumcised the foreskin of your heart, and your neck ye do not harden any more;

17. உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தேவாதி தேவனும், கர்த்தாதி கர்த்தரும், மகத்துவமும் வல்லமையும் பயங்கரமுமான தேவனுமாயிருக்கிறார்; அவர் பட்சபாதம்பண்ணுகிறவரும் அல்ல, பரிதானம் வாங்குகிறவரும் அல்ல.

17. for Jehovah your God -- He [is] God of the gods, and Lord of the lords; God, the great, the mighty, and the fearful; who accepteth not persons, nor taketh a bribe;

18. அவர் திக்கற்ற பிள்ளைக்கும் விதவைக்கும் நியாயஞ்செய்கிறவரும், அந்நியன்மேல் அன்புவைத்து அவனுக்கு அன்னவஸ்திரம் கொடுக்கிறவருமாய் இருக்கிறார்.

18. He is doing the judgment of fatherless and widow, and loving the sojourner, to give to him bread and raiment.

19. நீங்களும் எகிப்துதேசத்தில் அந்நியராயிருந்தபடியால், அந்நியரைச் சிநேகிப்பீர்களாக.

19. 'And ye have loved the sojourner, for sojourners ye were in the land of Egypt.

20. உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து, அவரைச் சேவித்து, அவரைப் பற்றிக்கொண்டிருந்து, அவருடைய நாமத்தைக்கொண்டு ஆணையிடுவாயாக.

20. 'Jehovah thy God thou dost fear, Him thou dost serve, and to Him thou dost cleave, and by His name thou dost swear.

21. அவரே உன் புகழ்ச்சி; உன் கண்கண்ட இந்தப் பெரிய பயங்கரமான காரியங்களை உன்னிடத்தில் செய்த உன்தேவன் அவரே.

21. He [is] thy praise, and He [is] thy God, who hath done with thee these great and fearful [things] which thine eyes have seen:

22. உன் பிதாக்கள் எழுபதுபேராய் எகிப்துக்குப் போனார்கள்; இப்பொழுதோ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்னைத் திரட்சியிலே வானத்தின் நட்சத்திரங்களைப்போலாக்கினார்.
