1. சவுல் என்பவன் இன்னும் கர்த்தருடைய சீஷரைப் பயமுறுத்திக் கொலைசெய்யும்படி சீறிப் பிரதான ஆசாரியரிடத்திற்குப் போய்;

1. And Saul yet breathyng out threatnings and slaughter agaynst the disciples of ye Lord, went vnto ye hie priest,

2. இந்த மார்க்கத்தாராகிய புருஷரையாகிலும் ஸ்திரீகளையாகிலும் தான் கண்டுபிடித்தால், அவர்களைக் கட்டி எருசலேமுக்குக் கொண்டுவரும்படி, தமஸ்குவிலுள்ள ஜெபஆலயங்களுக்கு நிருபங்களைக் கேட்டு வாங்கினான்.

2. And desired of him letters to carrye to Damascus, to the synagogues: that yf he founde any of this waye, whether they were men or women, he myght bryng them bounde vnto Hierusalem.

3. அவன் பிரயாணமாய்ப் போய், தமஸ்குவுக்குச் சமீபித்தபோது, சடிதியிலே வானத்திலிருந்து ஒரு ஒளி அவனைச் சுற்றிப் பிரகாசித்தது;

3. And when he iourneyed, it came to passe, that as he was come nye to Damascus, sodenly there shyned rounde about hym a lyght from heauen:

4. அவன் தரையிலே விழுந்தான். அப்பொழுது: சவுலே, சவுலே, நீ என்னை ஏன் துன்பப்படுத்துகிறாய் என்று தன்னுடனே சொல்லுகிற ஒரு சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டான்.

4. And he fell to the earth, and hearde a voyce saying to him: Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

5. அதற்கு அவன்: ஆண்டவரே, நீர் யார், என்றான். அதற்குக் கர்த்தர்: நீ துன்பப்படுத்துகிற இயேசு நானே; முள்ளில் உதைக்கிறது உனக்குக் கடினமாம் என்றார்.

5. And he sayde: Who art thou Lorde? And the Lorde said: I am Iesus who thou persecutest, It is harde for thee to kicke agaynst the prickes.

6. அவன் நடுங்கித் திகைத்து: ஆண்டவரே, நான் என்ன செய்யச் சித்தமாயிருக்கிறீர் என்றான். அதற்குக் கர்த்தர்: நீ எழுந்து, பட்டணத்துக்குள்ளே போ, நீ செய்யவேண்டியது அங்கே உனக்குச் சொல்லப்படும் என்றார்.

6. And he both tremblyng and astonyed, sayde: Lord, what wylt thou haue me to do? And the Lorde sayde vnto hym: Aryse, and go into the citie, and it shalbe tolde thee what thou must do.

7. அவனுடனேகூடப் பிரயாணம்பண்ணின மனுஷர்கள் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டும் ஒருவரையும் காணாமல் பிரமித்து நின்றார்கள்.

7. The men also which iourneyed with him, stoode amased, hearing a voyce, but seyng no man.

8. சவுல் தரையிலிருந்தெழுந்து, தன் கண்களைத் திறந்தபோது ஒருவரையும் காணவில்லை. அப்பொழுது கைலாகு கொடுத்து, அவனைத் தமஸ்குவுக்குக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோனார்கள்.

8. And Saul arose from the earth, and when he opened his eyes, he sawe no man: But they ledde him by the hande, and brought hym into Damascus.

9. அவன் மூன்று நாள் பார்வையில்லாதவனாய்ப் புசியாமலும் குடியாமலும் இருந்தான்.

9. And he was three dayes without syght, and neither dyd eate nor drynke.

10. தமஸ்குவிலே அனனியா என்னும் பேருள்ள ஒரு சீஷன் இருந்தான். அவனுக்குக் கர்த்தர் தரிசனமாகி: அனனியாவே, என்றார். அவன்: ஆண்டவரே, இதோ, அடியேன் என்றான்.

10. And there was a certayne disciple at Damascus, named Ananias: & to him sayde the Lorde in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold [I am here] Lorde.

11. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர்: நீ எழுந்து நேர்த்தெருவு என்னப்பட்ட தெருவுக்குப்போய், யூதாவின் வீட்டிலே தர்சுபட்டணத்தானாகிய சவுல் என்னும் பேருள்ள ஒருவனைத் தேடு; அவன் இப்பொழுது ஜெபம்பண்ணுகிறான்;

11. And the Lorde sayde vnto hym: aryse, and go into the streate, whiche is called strayght, and seeke in the house of Iudas, after one called Saul, of Tarsus: for beholde he prayeth,

12. அனனியா என்னும் பேருள்ள ஒரு மனுஷன் தன்னிடத்தில் வரவும், தான் பார்வையடையும்படி தன்மேல் கைவைக்கவும் தரிசனங்கண்டான் என்றார்.

12. And hath seene in a vision a man named Ananias commyng in to hym, and puttyng his handes on hym, that he myght receaue his syght.

13. அதற்கு அனனியா: ஆண்டவரே, இந்த மனுஷன் எருசலேமிலுள்ள உம்முடைய பரிசுத்தவான்களுக்கு எத்தனையோ பொல்லாங்குகளைச் செய்தானென்று அவனைக்குறித்து அநேகரால் கேள்விப்பட்டிருக்கிறேன்.

13. Then Ananias aunswered: Lorde, I haue heard by many, of this man, how much euyll he hath done to thy saintes, at Hierusalem.

14. இங்கேயும் உம்முடைய நாமத்தைத் தொழுதுகொள்ளுகிற யாவரையுங்கட்டும்படி அவன் பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களால் அதிகாரம் பெற்றிருக்கிறானே என்றான்.

14. And here he hath aucthoritie of ye hye priestes, to bynde all yt call on thy name.

15. அதற்குக் கர்த்தர்: நீ போ; அவன் புறஜாதிகளுக்கும், ராஜாக்களுக்கும், இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்கும் என்னுடைய நாமத்தை அறிவிக்கிறதற்காக நான் தெரிந்துகொண்ட பாத்திரமாயிருக்கிறான்.

15. The Lord sayde vnto hym: Go thy way, for he is a chosen vessell vnto me, to beare my name before the gentiles, & kynges, and the chyldren of Israel.

16. அவன் என்னுடைய நாமத்தினிமித்தம் எவ்வளவாய்ப் பாடுபடவேண்டுமென்பதை நான் அவனுக்குக் காண்பிப்பேன் என்றார்.

16. For I wyl shew hym how great thinges he must suffer for my names sake.

17. அப்பொழுது அனனியா போய், வீட்டுக்குள் பிரவேசித்து, அவன்மேல் கையை வைத்து: சகோதரனாகிய சவுலே, நீ வந்த வழியிலே உனக்குத் தரிசனமான இயேசுவாகிய கர்த்தர், நீ பார்வையடையும்படிக்கும் பரிசுத்த ஆவியினாலே நிரப்பப்படும்படிக்கும் என்னை அனுப்பினார் என்றான்.

17. And Ananias went his way, and entred into the house, and put his handes on hym, and sayde: Brother Saul, the Lorde (euen Iesus that appeared vnto thee in the waye as thou camest) hath sent me, that thou myghtest receaue thy syght, & be fylled with the holy ghost.

18. உடனே அவன் கண்களிலிருந்து மீன் செதிள்கள் போன்றவைகள் விழுந்தது. அவன் பார்வையடைந்து, எழுந்திருந்து, ஞானஸ்நானம் பெற்றான்.

18. And immediatly there fell from his eyes as it had ben scales, & he receaued syght foorthwith, and arose, and was baptized,

19. பின்பு அவன் போஜனம்பண்ணிப் பலப்பட்டான். சவுல் தமஸ்குவிலுள்ள சீஷருடனே சிலநாள் இருந்து,

19. And receaued meate, and was comforted. Then was Saul certaine dayes with the disciples whiche were at Damasco.

20. தாமதமின்றி, கிறிஸ்து தேவனுடைய குமாரனென்று ஆலயங்களிலே பிரசங்கித்தான்.

20. And strayghtway he preached Christe in the synagogues, that he was ye sonne of God.

21. கேட்டவர்களெல்லாரும் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு: எருசலேமில் இந்த நாமத்தைத் தொழுது கொள்ளுகிறவர்களை நாசமாக்கி, இங்கேயும் அப்படிப்பட்டவர்களைக் கட்டிப் பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களிடத்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோகும்படி வந்தவன் இவனல்லவா என்றார்கள்.

21. But all that hearde hym, were amased, and sayde: Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Hierusalem, and came hyther for that intent, that he myght bryng the bounde vnto the hye priestes?

22. சவுல் அதிகமாகத் திடன்கொண்டு, இவரே கிறிஸ்துவென்று திருஷ்டாந்தப்படுத்தி, தமஸ்குவில் குடியிருக்கிற யூதர்களைக் கலங்கப்பண்ணினான்.

22. But Saule increased the more in strength, and confounded the Iewes whiche dwelt at Damasco, affirmyng that this was very Christe.

23. அநேகநாள் சென்றபின்பு, யூதர்கள் அவனைக் கொலைசெய்யும்படி ஆலோசனைபண்ணினார்கள்.

23. And after that many dayes were fulfilled, the Iewes toke counsell together to kyll hym.

24. அவர்களுடைய யோசனை சவுலுக்குத் தெரியவந்தது. அவனைக் கொலைசெய்யும்படி அவர்கள் இரவும் பகலும் கோட்டைவாசல்களைக் காத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

24. But their laying awayte was knowen of Saule. And they watched ye gates day and nyght to kyll hym.

25. சீஷர்கள் இராத்திரியிலே அவனைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோய், ஒரு கூடையிலே வைத்து, மதில்வழியாய் இறக்கிவிட்டார்கள்.

25. Then the disciples toke him by night, and put hym through the wall, and let hym downe in a basket.

26. சவுல் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்து, சீஷருடனே சேர்ந்துகொள்ளப்பார்த்தான்; அவர்கள் அவனைச் சீஷனென்று நம்பாமல் எல்லாரும் அவனுக்குப் பயந்திருந்தார்கள்.

26. And when Saule was come to Hierusalem, he assayde to couple hym selfe to the disciples: but they were all afrayde of hym, & beleued not that he was a disciple.

27. அப்பொழுது பர்னபா என்பவன் அவனைச் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டு, அப்போஸ்தலரிடத்தில் அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், வழியிலே அவன் கர்த்தரைக் கண்டவிதத்தையும், அவர் அவனுடனே பேசினதையும், தமஸ்குவில் அவன் இயேசுவின் நாமத்தினாலே தைரியமாய்ப் பிரசங்கித்ததையும் அவர்களுக்கு விவரித்துச் சொன்னான்.

27. But Barnabas toke hym, & brought hym to the Apostles, and declared to them howe he had seene the Lorde in the way, & that he had spoken to hym, and howe he had done boldely at Damasco in the name of Iesu.

28. அதன்பின்பு அவன் எருசலேமிலே அவர்களிடத்தில் போக்கும் வரத்துமாயிருந்து;

28. And he had his conuersation with the at Hierusalem,

29. கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவின் நாமத்தினாலே தைரியமாய்ப் பிரசங்கித்து, கிரேக்கருடனே பேசித் தர்க்கித்தான்; அவர்களோ அவனைக் கொலைசெய்ய எத்தனம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

29. Speakyng boldly in the name of the Lorde Iesu. And he spake and disputed agaynst the Grekes: but they went about to slea hym.

30. சகோதரர் அதை அறிந்து, அவனைச் செசரியாவுக்கு அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், தர்சுவுக்கு அனுப்பிவிட்டார்கள்.

30. Which whe the brethren knewe, they brought hym to Cesarea, and sent hym foorth to Tarsus.

31. அப்பொழுது யூதேயா கலிலேயா சமாரியா நாடுகளிலெங்கும் சபைகள் சமாதானம் பெற்று, பக்திவிருத்தியடைந்து, கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படுகிற பயத்தோடும், பரிசுத்த ஆவியின் ஆறுதலோடும் நடந்து பெருகின.

31. Then had the Churches rest throughout all Iurie, and Galilee, and Samaria, and were edified, and walked in the feare of the Lorde, & multiplied by the comfort of the holy ghost.

32. பேதுரு போய் எல்லாரையும் சந்தித்துவருகையில், அவன் லித்தா ஊரிலே குடியிருக்கிற பரிசுத்தவான்களிடத்திற்கும் போனான்.

32. And it came to passe, as Peter walked throughout all quarters, he came also to the Saintes which dwelt at Lydda.

33. அங்கே எட்டு வருஷமாய்க் கட்டிலின்மேல் திமிர்வாதமுள்ளவனாய்க்கிடந்த ஐனேயா என்னும் பேருள்ள ஒரு மனுஷனைக் கண்டான்.

33. And there he founde a certayne man, named Eneas, which had kept his bed eyght yeres, & was sicke of the paulsie.

34. பேதுரு அவனைப் பார்த்து: ஐனேயாவே, இயேசுகிறிஸ்து உன்னைக் குணமாக்குகிறார்; நீ எழுந்து, உன் படுக்கையை நீயே போட்டுக்கொள் என்றான். உடனே அவன் எழுந்திருந்தான்.

34. And Peter sayde vnto hym, Eneas, Iesus Christe make thee whole: aryse, and make thy bedde. And he arose immediatly.

35. லித்தாவிலும் சாரோனிலும் குடியிருந்தவர்களெல்லாரும் அவனைக் கண்டு, கர்த்தரிடத்தில் திரும்பினார்கள்.

35. And all that dwelt at Lydda, and Saron sawe hym, and turned to the Lorde.

36. யோப்பா பட்டணத்தில் கிரேக்குப் பாஷையிலே தொற்காள் என்று அர்த்தங்கொள்ளும் தபீத்தாள் என்னும் பேருடைய ஒரு சீஷி இருந்தாள்; அவள் நற்கிரியைகளையும் தருமங்களையும் மிகுதியாய்ச் செய்துகொண்டுவந்தாள்.

36. There was also at Ioppa a certayne woman, a disciple, named Tabitha, which by interpretatio is called Dorcas: the same was full of good workes and almes deedes, which she dyd.

37. அந்நாட்களில் அவள் வியாதிப்பட்டு மரணமடைந்தாள். அவளைக் குளிப்பாட்டி, மேல்வீட்டிலே கிடத்திவைத்தார்கள்.

37. And it came to passe in those dayes that she was sicke, and dyed: Whom when they had wasshed, they layde her in an vpper chamber:

38. யோப்பா பட்டணம் லித்தா ஊருக்குச் சமீபமானபடியினாலே, பேதுரு அவ்விடத்தில் இருக்கிறானென்று சீஷர்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டு, தாமதமில்லாமல் தங்களிடத்தில் வரவேண்டுமென்று சொல்லும்படி இரண்டு மனுஷரை அவனிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பினார்கள்.

38. And forasmuch as Lydda was nye to Ioppa, and the disciples hadde hearde that Peter was there, they sent vnto hym two men, desyryng hym that he woulde not be greeued to come vnto them.

39. பேதுரு எழுந்து, அவர்களுடனே கூடப்போனான். அவன் போய்ச் சேர்ந்தபொழுது, அவர்கள் அவனை மேல்வீட்டுக்கு அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோனார்கள். அப்பொழுது விதவைகளெல்லாரும் அழுது, தொற்காள் தங்களுடனேகூட இருக்கையில் செய்திருந்த அங்கிகளையும் வஸ்திரங்களையும் காண்பித்து, அவனைச் சூழ்ந்துநின்றார்கள்.

39. Then Peter arose, & came with them, and when he was come, they brought hym into the vpper chamber: And all the wydowes stoode rounde about him weepyng, and shewyng the coates and garmentes which Dorcas made whyle she was with them.

40. பேதுரு எல்லாரையும் வெளியே போகச்செய்து, முழங்காற்படியிட்டு ஜெபம்பண்ணி, பிரேதத்தின் புறமாய்த் திரும்பி: தபீத்தாளே, எழுந்திரு என்றான். அப்பொழுது அவள் தன் கண்களைத் திறந்து, பேதுருவைப் பார்த்து உட்கார்ந்தாள்.

40. And Peter put them all foorth, and kneled downe, and prayed, and turned hym to the body, and sayde: Tabitha aryse. And she opened her eyes, and when she sawe Peter, she sate vp.

41. அவன் அவளுக்குக் கைகொடுத்து, அவளை எழுந்திருக்கப்பண்ணி, பரிசுத்தவான்களையும் விதவைகளையும் அழைத்து, அவளை உயிருள்ளவளாக அவர்களுக்கு முன் நிறுத்தினான்.

41. And he gaue her the hande, and lyfte her vp: and when he hadde called the saintes and wydowes, he deliuered her alyue.

42. இது யோப்பா பட்டணம் எங்கும் தெரியவந்தது. அப்பொழுது அநேகர் கர்த்தரிடத்தில் விசுவாசமுள்ளவர்களானார்கள்.

42. And it was knowen throughout all Ioppa, & many beleued in the Lorde.

43. பின்பு அவன் யோப்பா பட்டணத்திலே தோல் பதனிடுகிறவனாகிய சீமோன் என்னும் ஒருவனிடத்தில் அநேகநாள் தங்கியிருந்தான்.

43. And it came to passe, that he taryed many dayes in Ioppa, with one Simo a tanner.
