1. யோசேப்பின் குமாரனாகிய மனாசேயின் குடும்பங்களில், மனாசேயின் குமாரனாகிய மாகீரின் மகனான கிலெயாத்துக்குப் பிறந்த ஏபேருக்குப் புத்திரனாயிருந்த செலோப்பியாத்தின் குமாரத்திகளாகிய மக்லாள், நோவாள், ஒக்லாள், மில்காள், திர்சாள் என்பவர்கள் வந்து,

1. Then came the daughters of Zelophehad, the sonne of Hepher, the sonne of Gilead, the sonne of Machir, the sonne of Manasseh, of the familie of Manasseh, the sonne of Ioseph (and the names of his daughters were these, Mahlah, Noah and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah)

2. ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரவாசலிலே மோசேக்கும், ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாருக்கும், பிரபுக்களுக்கும், சபையனைத்திற்கும் முன்பாக நின்று:

2. And stoode before Moses, and before Eleazar the Priest, and before the Princes, and all the assemblie, at the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, saying,

3. எங்கள் தகப்பன் வனாந்தரத்தில் மரணமடைந்தார்; அவர் கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாகக் கூடின கோராகின் கூட்டத்தாரில் சேர்ந்தவர் அல்ல, தம்முடைய பாவத்தினாலே மரித்தார்; அவருக்குக் குமாரர் இல்லை.

3. Our father dyed in the wildernes, and he was not among the assemblie of them that were assembled against the Lord in the companie of Korah, but died in his sinne, and had no sonnes.

4. எங்கள் தகப்பனுக்குக் குமாரன் இல்லாததினாலே, அவருடைய பேர் அவருடைய வம்சத்தில் இல்லாமல் அற்றுப்போகலாமா? எங்கள் தகப்பனுடைய சகோதரருக்குள்ளே எங்களுக்குக் காணியாட்சி கொடுக்கவேண்டும் என்றார்கள்.

4. Wherefore should the name of our father be taken away from among his familie, because he hath no sonne? giue vs a possession among the brethren of our father.

5. மோசே அவர்களுடைய நியாயத்தைக் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் கொண்டு போனான்.

5. Then Moses brought their cause before the Lord.

6. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

6. And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,

7. செலோபியாத்தின் குமாரத்திகள் சொல்லுகிறது சரிதான்; அவர்களுக்கு அவர்கள் தகப்பனுடைய சகோதரருக்குள்ளே சுதந்தரம் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்; அவர்கள் தகப்பன் பின்வைத்த சுதந்தரத்தை அவர்களுக்குக் கிடைக்கும்படி செய்வாயாக.

7. The daughters of Zelophehad speake right: thou shalt giue them a possession to inherite among their fathers brethren, and shalt turne the inheritance of their father vnto them.

8. மேலும் நீ இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரை நோக்கி: ஒருவன் குமாரன் இல்லாமல் மரித்தால், அவனுக்குரிய சுதந்தரத்தை அவன் குமாரத்திக்குக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.

8. Also thou shalt speake vnto the children of Israel, saying, If a man die and haue no sonne, then ye shall turne his inheritaunce vnto his daughter.

9. அவனுக்குக் குமாரத்தியும் இல்லாதிருந்தால், அவனுக்குரிய சுதந்தரத்தை அவன் சகோதரருக்குக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.

9. And if he haue no daughter, ye shall giue his inheritance vnto his brethren.

10. அவனுக்குச் சகோதரரும் இல்லாதிருந்தால், அவனுக்குரிய சுதந்தரத்தை அவன் தகப்பனுடைய சகோதரருக்குக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.

10. And if he haue no brethren, ye shall giue his inheritance vnto his fathers brethren.

11. அவன் தகப்பனுக்குச் சகோதரர் இல்லாதிருந்தால், அவனுக்குரிய சுதந்தரத்தை அவன் வம்சத்திலே அவனுக்குக் கிட்டின உறவின் முறையானுக்குச் சுதந்தரமாகக் கொடுக்க வேண்டும்; இது, கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே, இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்கு நியாயவிதிப்பிரமாணமாய் இருக்கக்கடவது என்று சொல் என்றார்.

11. And if his father haue no brethren, ye shall giue his inheritance vnto his next kinsman of his familie, and he shall possesse it: and this shall be vnto the children of Israel a law of iudgement, as the Lord hath commanded Moses.

12. பின்பு கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நீ இந்த அபாரீம் மலையில் ஏறி, நான் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்குக் கொடுத்த தேசத்தைப் பார்.

12. Againe the Lord said vnto Moses, Go vp into this mount of Abarim, and behold ye lande which I haue giuen vnto the children of Israel.

13. நீ அதைப் பார்த்தபின்பு, உன் சகோதரனாகிய ஆரோன் சேர்க்கப்பட்டது போல, நீயும் உன் ஜனத்தாரிடத்தில் சேர்க்கப்படுவாய்;

13. And when thou hast seene it, thou shalt be gathered vnto thy people also, as Aaron thy brother was gathered.

14. சபையார் வாக்குவாதம்பண்ணின சீன் வனாந்தரத்தில் தண்ணீருக்கடுத்த விஷயத்தில் அவர்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக என்னைப் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணவேண்டிய நீங்கள் என் கட்டளையை மீறினீர்களே என்றார். இது சீன் வனாந்தரத்தில் காதேஸ் ஊர் அருகே உண்டான மேரிபாவின் தண்ணீருக்கடுத்த காரியமே.

14. For ye were disobedient vnto my worde in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the assemblie, to sanctifie me in the waters before their eyes. That is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wildernesse of Zin.

15. அப்பொழுது மோசே கர்த்தரை நோக்கி:

15. Then Moses spake vnto the Lord, saying,

16. கர்த்தருடைய சபை மேய்ப்பன் இல்லாத மந்தையைப்போல் இராதபடிக்கு,
எபிரேயர் 12:9

16. Let the Lord God of the spirits of all flesh appoint a man ouer the Congregation,

17. அந்தச் சபைக்கு முன்பாகப் போக்கும் வரத்துமாய் இருக்கும்படிக்கும், அவர்களைப் போகவும் வரவும் பண்ணும்படிக்கும், மாம்சமான யாவருடைய ஆவிகளுக்கும் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் ஒரு புருஷனை அவர்கள்மேல் அதிகாரியாக ஏற்படுத்தவேண்டும் என்றான்.

17. Who may goe out and in before them, and leade them out and in, that the Congregation of the Lord be not as sheepe, which haue not a shepheard.

18. கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: ஆவியைப் பெற்றிருக்கிற புருஷனாகிய யோசுவா என்னும் நூனின் குமாரனை நீ தெரிந்துகொண்டு, அவன்மேல் உன் கையை வைத்து,

18. And the Lord said vnto Moses, Take thee Ioshua the sonne of Nun, in whom is the Spirite, and put thine handes vpon him,

19. அவனை ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாருக்கும் சபையனைத்திற்கும் முன்பாக நிறுத்தி, அவர்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக அவனுக்குக் கட்டளைகொடுத்து,

19. And set him before Eleazar the Priest, and before all the Congregation, and giue him a charge in their sight.

20. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரராகிய சபையார் எல்லாரும் அவனுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியும்படிக்கு, உன் கனத்தில் கொஞ்சம் அவனுக்குக் கொடு.

20. And giue him of thy glory, that all the Congregation of ye children of Israel may obey.

21. அவன் ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாருக்கு முன்பாக நிற்கக்கடவன்; அவனிமித்தம் அந்த ஆசாரியன் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதானத்தில் வந்து, ஊரீம் என்னும் நியாயத்தினாலே ஆலோசனை கேட்கக்கடவன்; அவருடைய கட்டளையின்படியே, அவனும் அவனோடேகூட இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரராகிய சபையார் எல்லாரும் போகவும் அவருடைய கட்டளையின்படியே வரவும் வேண்டியது என்றார்.

21. And he shall stande before Eleazar the Priest, who shall aske counsell for him by the iudgement of Vrim before the Lord: at his worde they shall goe out, and at his worde they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him and all the Congregation.

22. மோசே தனக்குக் கர்த்தர் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே யோசுவாவை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அவனை ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாருக்கும் சபையனைத்திற்கும் முன்பாக நிறுத்தி,

22. So Moses did as the Lord had commanded him, and he tooke Ioshua, and set him before Eleazar the Priest, and before all the Congregation.

23. அவன்மேல் தன் கைகளை வைத்து, கர்த்தர் தனக்குச் சொன்னபடியே அவனுக்குக் கட்டளைகொடுத்தான்.

23. Then he put his handes vpon him, and gaue him a charge, as the Lord had spoken by the hand of Moses.
