1. லேவிக்குப் பிறந்த கோகாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய இத்சேயாரின் மகன் கோராகு என்பவன் ரூபன் வம்சத்திலுள்ள எலியாபின் குமாரராகிய தாத்தானையும் அபிராமையும் பேலேத்தின் குமாரனாகிய ஓனையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு,

1. Then took Korah, son of Izhar son of Kohath son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram sons of Eliab, and On, son of Peleth sons of Reuben;

2. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரில் சபைக்குத் தலைவர்களும் சங்கத்துக்கு அழைக்கப்பட்டவர்களும் பிரபலமானவர்களுமாகிய இருநூற்று ஐம்பது பேர்களோடும் கூட மோசேக்கு முன்பாக எழும்பி,

2. and rose up before Moses, with certain men of the sons of Israel, two hundred and fifty, princes of assembly, called to the stated meeting, men of renown;

3. மோசேக்கும் ஆரோனுக்கும் விரோதமாகக் கூட்டங்கூடி, அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் மிஞ்சிப்போகிறீர்கள்; சபையார் எல்லாரும் பரிசுத்தமானவர்கள்; கர்த்தர் அவர்கள் நடுவில் இருக்கிறாரே; இப்படியிருக்க, கர்த்தருடைய சபைக்கு மேலாக உங்களை ஏன் உயர்த்துகிறீர்கள் என்றார்கள்.

3. and gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron and said unto them Too much for you, when, all the assembly, are, all of them, holy, and in the midst of them, is Yahweh, Wherefore, then, should ye set yourselves up, above the convocation of Yahweh?

4. மோசே அதைக் கேட்டபோது, முகங்குப்புற விழுந்தான்.

4. And, when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face.

5. பின்பு அவன் கோராகையும் அவனுடைய எல்லாக் கூட்டத்தையும் நோக்கி: நாளைக்குக் கர்த்தர் தம்முடையவன் இன்னான் என்றும், தம்மண்டையிலே சேரத் தாம் கட்டளையிட்ட பரிசுத்தவான் இன்னான் என்றும் காண்பிப்பார்; அப்பொழுது எவனைத் தெரிந்துகொள்வாரோ, அவனைத் தம்மிடத்தில் சேரக் கட்டளையிடுவார்.

5. Then spake he unto Korah, and unto all his assembly, saying, In the morning, will Yahweh make known who are his, and who is the holy one and will cause him to come near unto himself, yea him whom he shall choose, will he cause to come near unto himself.

6. ஒன்று செய்யுங்கள்; கோராகே, கோராகின் கூட்டத்தார்களே, நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் தூபகலசங்களை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு,

6. This do, Take to you censers, Korah and all his assembly;

7. நாளைக்கு அவைகளில் அக்கினி போட்டு, கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் தூபவர்க்கம் இடுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் எவனைத் தெரிந்துகொள்வாரோ, அவன் பரிசுத்தவானாயிருப்பான்; லேவியின் புத்திரராகிய நீங்களே மிஞ்சிப்போகிறீர்கள் என்றான்.

7. and place therein fire, and put thereon incense before Yahweh, to-morrow, So shall it be that, the man whom Yahweh shall choose, he shall be the holy one. Too much for you ye sons of Levi!

8. பின்னும் மோசே கோராகை நோக்கி: லேவியின் புத்திரரே, கேளுங்கள்;

8. And Moses said unto Korah, Hear, I pray you, ye sons of Levi!

9. கர்த்தருடைய வாசஸ்தலத்தின் பணிவிடைகளைச் செய்யவும், சபையாரின் முன்நின்று அவர்கள் செய்யவேண்டிய வேலைகளைச் செய்யவும், உங்களைத் தம்மண்டையிலே சேரப்பண்ணும்படி இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவன் இஸ்ரவேல் சபையாரிலிருந்து உங்களைப் பிரித்தெடுத்ததும்,

9. Is it too small a thing for you that the God of Israel hath separated you from the assembly of Israel, to bring you near unto himself, to do the laborious work of the habitation of Yahweh, and to stand before the assembly, to wait upon them?

10. அவர் உன்னையும் உன்னோடேகூட லேவியின் புத்திரராகிய உன்னுடைய எல்லாச் சகோதரனையும் சேரப்பண்ணினதும், உங்களுக்கு அற்பகாரியமோ? இப்பொழுது ஆசாரியப்பட்டத்தையும் தேடுகிறீர்களோ?

10. But having brought thee near, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee, must ye seek priesthood also?

11. இதற்காக நீயும் உன் கூட்டத்தார் அனைவரும் கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாகவே கூட்டங்கூடினீர்கள்; ஆரோனுக்கு விரோதமாக நீங்கள் முறுமுறுக்கிறதற்கு அவன் எம்மாத்திரம் என்றான்.

11. Wherefore thou and all thine assembly, are conspiring against Yahweh, But Aaron, what is he, that ye should murmur against him?

12. பின்பு மோசே எலியாபின் குமாரராகிய தாத்தானையும் அபிராமையும் அழைத்தனுப்பினான். அவர்கள்: நாங்கள் வருகிறதில்லை;

12. Then sent Moses, to call for Dathan and for Abiram sons of Eliab, and they said We will not come up:

13. இந்த வனாந்தரத்தில் எங்களைக் கொன்றுபோடும்படி, பாலும் தேனும் ஓடுகிற தேசத்திலிருந்து எங்களைக் கொண்டு வந்தது அற்பகாரியமோ, எங்கள்மேல் துரைத்தனமும் பண்ணப்பார்கிறாயோ?

13. Was it, a small thing, that thou didst bring us up out of land flowing with milk and honey, to put us to death in the desert but thou must, continue even to lord it, over us?

14. மேலும் நீ எங்களைப் பாலும் தேனும் ஓடுகிற தேசத்துக்குக் கொண்டுவந்ததும் இல்லை, எங்களுக்கு வயல்களையும் திராட்சத்தோட்டங்களையும் சுதந்தரமாகக் கொடுத்ததும் இல்லை; இந்த மனிதருடைய கண்களைப் பிடுங்கப்பார்க்கிறாயோ? நாங்கள் வருகிறதில்லை என்றார்கள்.

14. Certainly not into a land flowing with milk and honey, hast thou brought us, nor given unto us an inheritance of field and vineyard, The eyes of those men, wilt thou dig out? We will not come up.

15. அப்பொழுது மோசேக்குக் கடுங்கோபம் மூண்டது; அவன் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: அவர்கள் செலுத்துங் காணிக்கையை அங்கிகரியாதிருப்பீராக; நான் அவர்களிடத்தில் ஒரு கழுதையை முதலாய் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளவில்லை; அவர்களில் ஒருவனுக்கும் யாதொரு பொல்லாப்பு செய்யவும் இல்லை என்றான்.

15. Then was Moses very angry, and he said unto Yahweh, Do not thou have respect unto their meal-offering. Not one ass, from them, have I taken, neither have I wronged one of them.

16. பின்பு மோசே கோராகை நோக்கி: நீயும் உன் கூட்டத்தார் யாவரும் நாளைக்குக் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் வாருங்கள்; நீயும் அவர்களும் ஆரோனும் வந்திருங்கள்.

16. And Moses said unto Korah, Thou, and all thine assembly, come ye before Yahweh, thou, and they, and Aaron to-morrow.

17. உங்களில் ஒவ்வொருவரும் தங்கள் தங்கள் தூபகலசங்களை எடுத்து, அவைகளில் தூபவர்க்கத்தைப் போட்டு, தங்கள் தங்கள் தூபகலசங்களாகிய இருநூற்று ஐம்பது தூபகலசங்களையும் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் கொண்டுவரவேண்டும்; நீயும் ஆரோனும் தன் தன் தூபகலசத்தைக் கொண்டுவாருங்கள் என்றான்.

17. And take ye each man his censer and put thereon incense, then shall ye bring near before Yahweh, each man his censer, two hundred and fifty Censers, and, thou and Aaron, each man his censer.

18. அப்படியே அவரவர் தங்கள் தங்கள் தூபகலசங்களை எடுத்து, அவைகளில் அக்கினியையும் தூபவர்க்கத்தையும் போட்டு, ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரவாசலுக்கு முன்பாக வந்து நின்றார்கள்; மோசேயும் ஆரோனும் அங்கே நின்றார்கள்.

18. So they took each man his censer and put thereon fire, and placed thereon incense, and took their stand at the entrance of the tent of meeting with Moses and Aaron.

19. அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கோராகு சபையையெல்லாம் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரவாசலுக்கு முன்பாகக் கூடிவரும்படி செய்தான்; அப்பொழுது கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை சபைக்கெல்லாம் காணப்பட்டது.

19. And Korah gathered together against them all the assembly, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, then appeared the glory of Yahweh, unto all the assembly.

20. கர்த்தர் மோசேயோடும் ஆரோனோடும் பேசி:

20. Then spake Yahweh unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying:

21. இந்தச் சபையை விட்டுப் பிரிந்து போங்கள்; ஒரு நிமிஷத்திலே அவர்களை அதமாக்குவேன் என்றார்.

21. Separate yourselves out of the midst of this assembly, that I may consume them in a moment.

22. அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து: தேவனே, மாம்சமான யாவருடைய ஆவிகளுக்கும் தேவனே, ஒரு மனிதன் பாவம் செய்திருக்கச் சபையார் எல்லார்மேலும் கடுங்கோபங்கொள்வீரோ என்றார்கள்.
எபிரேயர் 12:9

22. And they fell upon their faces and said, O GOD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall, one man, sin, and against all the assembly, wilt thou he wroth.

23. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

23. And Yahweh spake unto Moses, saying,

24. கோராகு தாத்தான் அபிராம் என்பவர்களுடைய வாசஸ்தலத்தை விட்டு விலகிப்போங்கள் என்று சபையாருக்குச் சொல் என்றார்.

24. Speak unto the assembly, saying, Get ye up from round about the habitation of Korah, Dathan and Abiram.

25. உடனே மோசே எழுந்திருந்து, தாத்தான் அபிராம் என்பவர்களிடத்தில் போனான்; இஸ்ரவேலின் மூப்பரும் அவனைப் பின்சென்று போனார்கள்.

25. So Moses rose up, and went, unto Dathan and Abiram, then went, after him the eiders of Israel.

26. அவன் சபையாரை நோக்கி: இந்தத் துஷ்டமனிதரின் சகல பாவங்களிலும் நீங்கள் வாரிக்கொள்ளப்படாதபடிக்கு, அவர்கள் கூடாரங்களை விட்டு விலகி, அவர்களுக்கு உண்டானவைகளில் ஒன்றையும் தொடாதிருங்கள் என்றான்.

26. And he spake unto the assembly, saying Remove I pray you from beside the tents of these lawless men, and do not touch aught that pertaineth unto them, lest ye be carried off, in all their sins.

27. அப்படியே அவர்கள் கோராகு தாத்தான் அபிராம் என்பவர்களுடைய வாசஸ்தலத்தை விட்டு விலகிப்போனார்கள்; தாத்தானும் அபிராமும் வெளியே வந்து, தங்கள் பெண்ஜாதிகள் பிள்ளைகள் குழந்தைகளோடும் தங்கள் கூடாரவாசலிலே நின்றார்கள்.

27. So they went up from beside the habitation of Korah, Dathan and Abiram on every side, and, Dathan and Abiram, came out and stationed themselves at the entrance of their tents, with their wives and their sons and their little ones.

28. அப்பொழுது மோசே: இந்தக் கிரியைகளையெல்லாம் செய்கிறதற்குக் கர்த்தர் என்னை அனுப்பினார் என்றும், அவைகளை நான் என் மனதின்படியே செய்யவில்லை என்றும், நீங்கள் எதினாலே அறிவீர்களென்றால்,

28. Then said Moses, Hereby, shall ye know, that, Yahweh hath sent me, to do all these works, verily, not out of my own heart:

29. சகல மனிதரும் சாகிறபடி இவர்கள் செத்து, சகல மனிதருக்கும் நேரிடுகிறதுபோல இவர்களுக்கும் நேரிட்டால், கர்த்தர் என்னை அனுப்பவில்லை என்று அறிவீர்கள்.

29. If, as all human beings die, these do die, and the visitation of all human beings, be visited upon them, Yahweh, hath not sent me.

30. கர்த்தர் ஒரு புதிய காரியத்தை நேரிடச்செய்வதால், பூமி தன் வாயைத்திறந்து, இவர்கள் உயிரோடே பாதாளத்தில் இறங்கத்தக்கதாக இவர்களையும் இவர்களுக்கு உண்டான யாவையும் விழுங்கிப் போட்டதேயானால், இந்த மனிதர் கர்த்தரை அவமதித்தார்கள் என்பதை அறிந்துகொள்வீர்கள் என்றான்.

30. But, if, a cremation, Yahweh create, and the ground open wide her mouth and swallow them up, with all that pertain unto them, and so they go down alive unto hades, then shall ye know, that these men have despised Yahweh.

31. அவன் இந்த வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் சொல்லி முடித்தவுடனே, அவர்கள் நின்றிருந்த நிலம் பிளந்தது;

31. And it came to pass as he made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground which was under them, clave asunder;

32. பூமி தன் வாயைத் திறந்து, அவர்களையும் அவர்கள் வீடுகளையும், கோராகுக்குரிய எல்லா மனிதரையும், அவர்களுக்கு உண்டான சகல பொருள்களையும் விழுங்கிப்போட்டது.

32. and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up them, and their households, and all the human beings who pertained unto Korah, with all their goods:

33. அவர்கள் தங்களுக்கு உண்டானவை எல்லாவற்றோடும் உயிரோடே பாதாளத்தில் இறங்கினார்கள்; பூமி அவர்களை மூடிக்கொண்டது; இப்படிச் சபையின் நடுவிலிருந்து அழிந்துபோனார்கள்.

33. so, they, and all that pertained unto them, went down, alive unto hades, and the earth, closed pen them, and they perished out of the midst of the convocation.

34. அவர்களைச் சுற்றிலும் இருந்த இஸ்ரவேலர் யாவரும் அவர்கள் கூக்குரலைக்கேட்டு, பூமி நம்மையும் விழுங்கிப்போடும் என்று சொல்லி ஓடினார்கள்.

34. And, all Israel who were round about them, fled at their cry, for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up.

35. அக்கினி கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, தூபங்காட்டின இருநூற்று ஐம்பது பேரையும் பட்சித்துப் போட்டது.

35. Fire also came forth, from Yahweh, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men, who offered the incense.

36. பின்பு கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

36. Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:

37. அக்கினிக்குள் அகப்பட்ட தூபகலசங்களை எடுத்து, அவைகளிலிருக்கிற அக்கினியை அப்பாலே கொட்டிப்போடும்படி ஆசாரியனாகிய ஆரோனின் குமாரன் எலெயாசாருக்குச் சொல்; அந்தத் தூபகலசங்கள் பரிசுத்தமாயின.

37. Say unto Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the midst of the burning, and the fire, scatter thou yonder, for they have been hallowed.

38. தங்கள் ஆத்துமாக்களுக்கே கேடுண்டாக்கின அந்தப் பாவிகளின் தூபகலசங்களைப் பலிபீடத்தை மூடத்தக்க தட்டையான தகடுகளாய் அடிக்கக்கடவர்கள்; அவர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் அவைகளைக் கொண்டுவந்ததினால் அவைகள் பரிசுத்தமாயின; அவைகள் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்கு ஒரு அடையாளமாயிருக்கும் என்றார்.
எபிரேயர் 12:3

38. As for the censers of these sinners against their own persons, they shall be made into beaten-out plates as an overlay for the altar, for hey had brought them near before Yahweh and hallowed them, so shall they become a sign unto the sons of Israel.

39. அப்படியே ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசார் சுட்டெரிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் கொண்டுவந்திருந்த வெண்கலத் தூபகலசங்களை எடுத்து,

39. And Eleazar the priest took the censers of bronze, which the consumed men had brought near, and heat them out into plates for overlaying the altar:

40. ஆரோனின் புத்திரராய் இராத அந்நியன் ஒருவனும் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் தூபங்காட்ட வராதபடிக்கும், கோராகைப்போலும் அவன் கூட்டத்தாரைப்போலும் இராதபடிக்கும், இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்கு ஞாபகக்குறியாயிருக்கும் பொருட்டு, கர்த்தர் மோசேயைக்கொண்டு தனக்குச் சொன்னபடியே அவைகளைப் பலிபீடத்தை மூடும் தகடுகளாக அடிப்பித்தான்.

40. a memorial unto the sons of Israel, That no stranger, who is not of the seed of Aaron, shall draw near to offer incense before Yahweh, lest he become like Korah and like his assembly, As spake Yahweh by the hand of Moses with regard thereto.

41. மறுநாளில் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் சபையார் எல்லாரும் மோசேக்கும் ஆரோனுக்கும் விரோதமாக முறுமுறுத்து: நீங்கள் கர்த்தரின் ஜனங்களைக் கொன்று போட்டீர்கள் என்றார்கள்.

41. And all the assembly of the sons of Israel murmured, on the morrow, against Moses and against, Aaron, saying, Ye, have caused the death of the people of Yahweh.

42. சபையார் மோசேக்கும் ஆரோனுக்கும் விரோதமாகக் கூடி ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்துக்கு நேரே பார்க்கிறபோது, மேகம் அதை மூடினது, கர்த்தரின் மகிமை காணப்பட்டது.

42. And it came to pass, when the assembly gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, that they turned towards the tent of meeting, and lo! the cloud had covered it: and the glory of Yahweh, appeared.

43. மோசேயும் ஆரோனும் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்துக்கு முன்பாக வந்தார்கள்;

43. And Moses and Aaron came in, before the tent of meeting.

44. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

44. Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:

45. இந்தச் சபையாரை விட்டு விலகிப்போங்கள்; ஒரு நிமிஷத்தில் அவர்களை அதமாக்குவேன் என்றார். அவர்கள் முகங்குப்புற விழுந்தார்கள்.

45. Lift yourselves up out of the midst o this assembly, that I may consume them, as in a moment, And they fell upon their faces.

46. மோசே ஆரோனை நோக்கி: நீ தூபகலசத்தை எடுத்து, பலிபீடத்திலிருக்கிற அக்கினியை அதில் போட்டு, அதின்மேல் தூபவர்க்கம் இட்டு, சீக்கிரமாய்ச் சபையினிடத்தில் போய், அவர்களுக்காகப் பாவநிவிர்த்தி செய்; கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியிலிருந்து கடுங்கோபம் புறப்பட்டது. வாதை தொடங்கிற்று என்றான்.

46. Then said Moses unto Aaron Take the censer and place thereon fire, from off the altar, and put incense thereon , and, going quickly into the assembly, put a propitiatory-covering over them, for wrath hath gone forth from before Yahweh the plague, hath begun.

47. மோசே சொன்னபடி ஆரோன் அதை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு சபையின் நடுவில் ஓடினான்; ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே வாதை தொடங்கியிருந்தது; அவன் தூபவர்க்கம் போட்டு, ஜனங்களுக்காகப் பாவநிவிர்த்தி செய்து,

47. Then took Aaron, as Moses spake, and ran into the midst of the convocation, and lo! the plague had begun among the people, so he placed the incense, and put a propitiatory-covering over the people:

48. செத்தவர்களுக்கும் உயிரோடிருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும் நடுவே நின்றான்; அப்பொழுது வாதை நிறுத்தப்பட்டது.

48. thus did he take his stand between the dead and the living, and the plague was restrained.

49. கோராகின் காரியத்தினிமித்தம் செத்தவர்கள் தவிர, அந்த வாதையினால் செத்துப்போனவர்கள் பதினாலாயிரத்து எழுநூறுபேர்.

49. And so it was that they who died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, besides them who died over the matter of Korah.

50. வாதை நிறுத்தப்பட்டது; அப்பொழுது ஆரோன் ஆசரிப்புக்கூடாரவாசலுக்கு மோசேயினிடத்தில் திரும்பிவந்தான்.

50. And Aaron returned unto Moses, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, when, the plague, had been restrained.
