1. அப்பொழுது சபையார் எல்லாரும் கூக்குரலிட்டுப் புலம்பினார்கள்; ஜனங்கள் அன்று இராமுழுதும் அழுதுகொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

1. And all the company lifteth up and give forth their voice, and the people weep during that night;

2. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் எல்லாரும் மோசேக்கும் ஆரோனுக்கும் விரோதமாக முறுமுறுத்தார்கள். சபையார் எல்லாரும் அவர்களை நோக்கி: எகிப்துதேசத்திலே செத்துப்போனோமானால் நலமாயிருக்கும்; இந்த வனாந்தரத்திலே நாங்கள் செத்தாலும் நலம்.

2. and all the sons of Israel murmur against Moses, and against Aaron, and all the company say unto them, 'O that we had died in the land of Egypt, or in this wilderness, O that we had died!

3. நாங்கள் பட்டயத்தால் மடியும்படிக்கும், எங்கள் பெண்ஜாதிகளும் பிள்ளைகளும் கொள்ளையாகும்படிக்கும், கர்த்தர் எங்களை இந்த தேசத்துக்குக் கொண்டு வந்தது என்ன? எகிப்துக்குத் திரும்பிப் போகிறதே எங்களுக்கு உத்தமம் அல்லவோ என்றார்கள்.

3. and why is Jehovah bringing us in unto this land to fall by the sword? our wives and our infants are become a prey; is it not good for us to turn back to Egypt?'

5. And Moses falleth -- Aaron also -- on their faces, before all the assembly of the company of the sons of Israel.

6. தேசத்தைச் சுற்றிப்பார்த்தவர்களில் நூனின் குமாரனாகிய யோசுவாவும், எப்புன்னேயின் குமாரனாகிய காலேபும், தங்கள் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு,

6. And Joshua son of Nun, and Caleb son of Jephunneh, of those spying the land, have rent their garments,

7. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் சமஸ்த சபையையும் நோக்கி: நாங்கள் போய்ச் சுற்றிப்பார்த்து சோதித்த தேசம் மகா நல்ல தேசம்.

7. and they speak unto all the company of the sons of Israel, saying, 'The land into which we have passed over to spy it, [is] a very very good land;

8. கர்த்தர் நம்மேல் பிரியமாயிருந்தால், அந்தத் தேசத்திலே நம்மைக் கொண்டுபோய், பாலும் தேனும் ஓடுகிற அந்தத் தேசத்தை நமக்குக் கொடுப்பார்.

8. if Jehovah hath delighted in us, then He hath brought us in unto this land, and hath given it to us, a land which is flowing with milk and honey;

9. கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாகமாத்திரம் கலகம்பண்ணாதிருங்கள்; அந்த தேசத்தின் ஜனங்களுக்கு நீங்கள் பயப்படவேண்டியதில்லை; அவர்கள் நமக்கு இரையாவார்கள்; அவர்களைக் காத்த நிழல் அவர்களை விட்டு விலகிப்போயிற்று; கர்த்தர் நம்மோடே இருக்கிறார்; அவர்களுக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டியதில்லை என்றார்கள்.

9. only, against Jehovah rebel not ye: and ye, fear not ye the people of the land, for our bread they [are]; their defence hath turned aside from off them, and Jehovah [is] with us; fear them not.'

10. அப்பொழுது அவர்கள்மேல் கல்லெறியவேண்டும் என்று சபையார் எல்லாரும் சொன்னார்கள்; உடனே கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை ஆசரிப்புக்கூடாரத்தில் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் எல்லாருக்கும் முன்பாகக் காணப்பட்டது.

10. And all the company say to stone them with stones, and the honour of Jehovah hath appeared in the tent of meeting unto all the sons of Israel.

11. கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: எதுவரைக்கும் இந்த ஜனங்கள் எனக்குக் கோபம் உண்டாக்குவார்கள்? தங்களுக்குள்ளே நான் காட்டின சகல அடையாளங்களையும் அவர்கள் கண்டும், எதுவரைக்கும் என்னை விசுவாசியாதிருப்பார்கள்?

11. And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'Until when doth this people despise Me? and until when do they not believe in Me, for all the signs which I have done in its midst?

12. நான் அவர்களைக் கொள்ளைநோயினால் வாதித்து, சுதந்தரத்துக்குப் பறம்பாக்கிப்போட்டு, அவர்களைப்பார்க்கிலும் உன்னைப் பெரிதும் பலத்ததுமான ஜாதியாக்குவேன் என்றார்.

12. I smite it with pestilence, and dispossess it, and make thee become a nation greater and mightier than it.'

13. மோசே கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: எகிப்தியர் இதைக் கேட்பார்கள், அவர்கள் நடுவிலிருந்து உம்முடைய வல்லமையினாலே இந்த ஜனங்களைக் கொண்டுவந்தீரே.

13. And Moses saith unto Jehovah, 'Then have the Egyptians heard! for Thou hast brought up with Thy power this people out of their midst,

14. கர்த்தராகிய நீர் இந்த ஜனங்களின் நடுவே இருக்கிறதையும், கர்த்தராகிய நீர் முகமுகமாய்த் தரிசனமாகிறதையும், உம்முடைய மேகம் இவர்கள்மேல் நிற்கிறதையும், பகலில் மேகத்தூணிலும், இரவில் அக்கினித்தூணிலும், நீர் இவர்களுக்கு முன் செல்லுகிறதையும் கேட்டிருக்கிறார்கள்; இந்த தேசத்தின் குடிகளுக்கும் சொல்லுவார்கள்.

14. and they have said [it] unto the inhabitant of this land, they have heard that Thou, Jehovah, [art] in the midst of this people, that eye to eye Thou art seen -- O Jehovah, and Thy cloud is standing over them, -- and in a pillar of cloud Thou art going before them by day, and in a pillar of fire by night.

15. ஒரே மனிதனைக் கொல்லுகிறது போல இந்த ஜனங்களையெல்லாம் நீர் கொல்வீரானால், அப்பொழுது உம்முடைய கீர்த்தியைக் கேட்டிருக்கும் புறஜாதியார்:

15. 'And Thou hast put to death this people as one man, and the nations who have heard Thy fame have spoken, saying,

16. கர்த்தர் அந்த ஜனங்களுக்குக் கொடுப்போம் என்று ஆணையிட்டிருந்த தேசத்திலே அவர்களைக் கொண்டுபோய்விடக்கூடாதே போனபடியினால், அவர்களை வனாந்தரத்திலே கொன்றுபோட்டார் என்பார்களே.

16. From Jehovah's want of ability to bring in this people unto the land which He hath sworn to them -- He doth slaughter them in the wilderness.

17. ஆகையால் கர்த்தர் நீடிய சாந்தமும் மிகுந்த கிருபையுமுள்ளவர் என்றும், அக்கிரமத்தையும் மீறுதலையும் மன்னிக்கிறவர் என்றும், குற்றமுள்ளவர்களைக் குற்றமற்றவர்களாக விடாமல், பிதாக்கள் செய்த அக்கிரமத்தைப் பிள்ளைகளிடத்தில் மூன்றாம் நான்காம் தலைமுறைமட்டும் விசாரிக்கிறவர் என்றும், நீர் சொல்லியிருக்கிறபடியே,

17. 'And now, let, I pray Thee, the power of my Lord be great, as Thou hast spoken, saying:

18. என் ஆண்டவருடைய வல்லமை பெரிதாய் விளங்குவதாக.

18. Jehovah [is] slow to anger, and of great kindness; bearing away iniquity and transgression, and not entirely acquitting, charging iniquity of fathers on sons, on a third [generation], and on a fourth; --

19. உமது கிருபையினுடைய மகத்துவத்தின்படியேயும், எகிப்தை விட்டதுமுதல் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் இந்த ஜனங்களுக்கு மன்னித்து வந்ததின்படியேயும், இந்த ஜனங்களின் அக்கிரமத்தை மன்னித்தருளும் என்றான்.

19. forgive, I pray Thee, the iniquity of this people, according to the greatness of Thy kindness, and as Thou hast borne with this people from Egypt, even until now.'

20. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர்: உன் வார்த்தையின்படியே மன்னித்தேன்.

20. And Jehovah saith, 'I have forgiven, according to thy word;

21. பூமியெல்லாம் கர்த்தருடைய மகிமையினால் நிறைந்திருக்கும் என்று என்னுடைய ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன்.

21. and yet, I live -- and it is filled -- the whole earth -- [with] the honour of Jehovah;

22. for all the men who are seeing My honour, and My signs, which I have done in Egypt, and in the wilderness, and try Me these ten times, and have not hearkened to My voice --

23. அவர்கள் பிதாக்களுக்கு நான் ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுத்த தேசத்தைக் காணமாட்டார்கள்; எனக்குக் கோபம் உண்டாக்கினவர்களில் ஒருவரும் அதைக் காணமாட்டார்கள்.

23. they see not the land which I have sworn to their fathers, yea, none of those despising Me see it;

24. என்னுடைய தாசனாகிய காலேப் வேறே ஆவியை உடையவனாயிருக்கிறபடியினாலும், உத்தமமாய் என்னைப் பின்பற்றி வந்தபடியினாலும், அவன் போய் வந்த தேசத்திலே அவனைச் சேரப்பண்ணுவேன்; அவன் சந்ததியார் அதைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளுவார்கள்.

24. and My servant Caleb, because there hath been another spirit with him, and he is fully after Me -- I have brought him in unto the land whither he hath entered, and his seed doth possess it.

25. அமலேக்கியரும் கானானியரும் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே குடியிருக்கிறபடியினால், நாளைக்கு நீங்கள் திரும்பி சிவந்த சமுத்திரத்துக்குப் போகிற வழியாய் வனாந்தரத்துக்குப் பிரயாணம்பண்ணுங்கள் என்றார்.

25. 'And the Amalekite and the Canaanite are dwelling in the valley; to-morrow turn ye and journey for yourselves into the wilderness -- the way of the Red Sea.'

26. பின்னும் கர்த்தர் மோசேயையும் ஆரோனையும் நோக்கி:

26. And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, and unto Aaron, saying,

27. எனக்கு விரோதமாய் முறுமுறுக்கிற இந்தப் பொல்லாத சபையாரை எதுவரைக்கும் பொறுப்பேன்? இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் எனக்கு விரோதமாய் முறுமுறுக்கிறதைக் கேட்டேன்.

27. 'Until when hath this evil company that which they are murmuring against Me? the murmurings of the sons of Israel, which they are murmuring against Me, I have heard;

28. நீ அவர்களோடே சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்: நீங்கள் என் செவிகள் கேட்கச் சொன்ன பிரகாரம் உங்களுக்குச் செய்வேன் என்பதை என் ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன் என்று கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறார்.

28. say unto them, I live -- an affirmation of Jehovah -- if, as ye have spoken in Mine ears -- so I do not to you;

29. இந்த வனாந்தரத்தில் உங்கள் பிரேதங்கள் விழும்; உங்களில் இருபது வயது முதல் அதற்கு மேற்பட்டவர்களாக எண்ணப்பட்டு, உங்கள் தொகைக்கு உட்பட்டவர்களும் எனக்கு விரோதமாய் முறுமுறுத்திருக்கிறவர்களுமாகிய அனைவரின் பிரேதங்களும் விழும்.

29. in this wilderness do your carcases fall, even all your numbered ones, to all your number, from a son of twenty years and upward, who have murmured against Me;

30. எப்புன்னேயின் குமாரன் காலேபும், நூனின் குமாரன் யோசுவாவும் தவிர, மற்றவர்களாகிய நீங்கள் நான் உங்களைக் குடியேற்றுவேன் என்று ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுத்த தேசத்தில் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை.

30. ye -- ye come not in unto the land which I have lifted up My hand to cause you to tabernacle in it, except Caleb son of Jephunneh, and Joshua son of Nun.

31. கொள்ளையாவார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் சொன்ன உங்கள் குழந்தைகளையோ நான் அதில் பிரவேசிக்கச் செய்வேன்; நீங்கள் அசட்டைப்பண்ணின தேசத்தை அவர்கள் கண்டறிவார்கள்.

31. 'As to your infants -- of whom ye have said, A spoil they are become -- I have even brought them in, and they have known the land which ye have kicked against;

32. உங்கள் பிரேதங்களோ இந்த வனாந்தரத்திலே விழும்.

32. as to you -- your carcases do fall in this wilderness,

33. அவைகள் வனாந்தரத்திலே விழுந்து தீருமட்டும், உங்கள் பிள்ளைகள் நாற்பது வருஷம் வனாந்தரத்திலே திரிந்து, நீங்கள் சோரம்போன பாதகத்தைச் சுமப்பார்கள்.

33. and your sons are evil in the wilderness forty years, and have borne your whoredoms till your carcases are consumed in the wilderness;

35. I [am] Jehovah, I have spoken; if I do not this to all this evil company who are meeting against me; -- in this wilderness they are consumed, and there they die.'

36. And the men whom Moses hath sent to spy the land, and they turn back and cause all the company to murmur against him, by bringing out an evil account concerning the land,

37. சபையார் எல்லாரும் அவனுக்கு விரோதமாய் முறுமுறுக்கும்படி அந்தத் துர்ச்செய்தியைச் சொன்னவர்களாகிய அந்த மனிதர் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் வாதையினால் செத்தார்கள்.

37. even the men bringing out an evil account of the land die by the plague before Jehovah;

38. தேசத்தைச் சுற்றிப் பார்க்கப்போன அந்த மனிதரில் நூனின் குமாரனாகிய யோசுவாவும், எப்புன்னேயின் குமாரனாகிய காலேபும் மாத்திரம் உயிரோடிருந்தார்கள்.

38. and Joshua son of Nun, and Caleb son of Jephunneh, have lived of those men who go to spy out the land.

39. மோசே இந்த வார்த்தைகளை இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் அனைவரோடும் சொன்னபோது, ஜனங்கள் மிகவும் துக்கித்தார்கள்.

39. And Moses speaketh these words unto all the sons of Israel, and the people mourn exceedingly,

40. அதிகாலமே அவர்கள் எழுந்திருந்து: நாங்கள் பாவஞ்செய்தோம், கர்த்தர் வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணின இடத்துக்கு நாங்கள் போவோம் என்று சொல்லி மலையின் உச்சியில் ஏறத்துணிந்தார்கள்.

40. and they rise early in the morning, and go up unto the top of the mountain, saying, 'Here we [are], and we have come up unto the place which Jehovah hath spoken of, for we have sinned.'

41. மோசே அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் இப்படி கர்த்தரின் கட்டளையை மீறுகிறதென்ன? அது உங்களுக்கு வாய்க்காது.

41. And Moses saith, 'Why [is] this? -- ye are transgressing the command of Jehovah, and it doth not prosper;

42. நீங்கள் உங்கள் சத்துருக்களுக்கு முன்பாக முறிய அடிக்கப்படாதபடிக்கு ஏறிப்போகாதிருங்கள்; கர்த்தர் உங்கள் நடுவில் இரார்.

42. go not up, for Jehovah is not in your midst, and ye are not smitten before your enemies;

43. அமலேக்கியரும் கானானியரும் அங்கே உங்களுக்குமுன்னே இருக்கிறார்கள்; பட்டயத்தினால் விழுவீர்கள்; நீங்கள் கர்த்தரை விட்டுப் பின்வாங்கினபடியால், கர்த்தர் உங்களோடே இருக்கமாட்டார் என்றான்.

43. for the Amalekite and the Canaanite [are] there before you, and ye have fallen by the sword, because that ye have turned back from after Jehovah, and Jehovah is not with you.'

44. ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் மலையின் உச்சியில் ஏறத் துணிந்தார்கள்; கர்த்தருடைய உடன்படிக்கையின் பெட்டியும் மோசேயும் பாளயத்தை விட்டுப்போகவில்லை.

44. And they presume to go up unto the top of the mountain, and the ark of the covenant of Jehovah and Moses have not departed out of the midst of the camp.

45. அப்பொழுது அமலேக்கியரும் கானானியாரும் அந்த மலையிலே இருந்து இறங்கி வந்து, அவர்களை முறிய அடித்து, அவர்களை ஓர்மாமட்டும் துரத்தினார்கள்.

45. And the Amalekite and the Canaanite who are dwelling in that mountain come down and smite them, and beat them down -- unto Hormah.
