1. அப்பொழுது சபையார் எல்லாரும் கூக்குரலிட்டுப் புலம்பினார்கள்; ஜனங்கள் அன்று இராமுழுதும் அழுதுகொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
எபிரேயர் 3:16-18

1. And all the congregation lifted up their voice and cried; and the people wept all that night.

2. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் எல்லாரும் மோசேக்கும் ஆரோனுக்கும் விரோதமாக முறுமுறுத்தார்கள். சபையார் எல்லாரும் அவர்களை நோக்கி: எகிப்துதேசத்திலே செத்துப்போனோமானால் நலமாயிருக்கும்; இந்த வனாந்தரத்திலே நாங்கள் செத்தாலும் நலம்.

2. And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron; and all the congregation said to them,

3. நாங்கள் பட்டயத்தால் மடியும்படிக்கும், எங்கள் பெண்ஜாதிகளும் பிள்ளைகளும் கொள்ளையாகும்படிக்கும், கர்த்தர் எங்களை இந்த தேசத்துக்குக் கொண்டு வந்தது என்ன? எகிப்துக்குத் திரும்பிப் போகிறதே எங்களுக்கு உத்தமம் அல்லவோ என்றார்கள்.

3. If only we would have died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we would have died in this wilderness! And why does the Lord bring us into this land to fall in war? Our wives and our children shall be for a prey: now then it is better to return into Egypt.

4. And they said to one another, Let us select a leader and return into Egypt.

5. And Moses and Aaron fell upon their face before all the congregation of the children of Israel.

6. தேசத்தைச் சுற்றிப்பார்த்தவர்களில் நூனின் குமாரனாகிய யோசுவாவும், எப்புன்னேயின் குமாரனாகிய காலேபும், தங்கள் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு,

6. But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, of those that spied out the land, tore their clothes,

7. இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் சமஸ்த சபையையும் நோக்கி: நாங்கள் போய்ச் சுற்றிப்பார்த்து சோதித்த தேசம் மகா நல்ல தேசம்.

7. and spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, The land which we surveyed is indeed extremely good.

8. கர்த்தர் நம்மேல் பிரியமாயிருந்தால், அந்தத் தேசத்திலே நம்மைக் கொண்டுபோய், பாலும் தேனும் ஓடுகிற அந்தத் தேசத்தை நமக்குக் கொடுப்பார்.

8. If the Lord delights in us, He will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which flows with milk and honey.

9. கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாகமாத்திரம் கலகம்பண்ணாதிருங்கள்; அந்த தேசத்தின் ஜனங்களுக்கு நீங்கள் பயப்படவேண்டியதில்லை; அவர்கள் நமக்கு இரையாவார்கள்; அவர்களைக் காத்த நிழல் அவர்களை விட்டு விலகிப்போயிற்று; கர்த்தர் நம்மோடே இருக்கிறார்; அவர்களுக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டியதில்லை என்றார்கள்.

9. Only depart not from the Lord; and do not fear the people of the land, for they shall be as food to us; for the season [of prosperity] has departed from them, but the Lord [is] among us; fear them not.

10. அப்பொழுது அவர்கள்மேல் கல்லெறியவேண்டும் என்று சபையார் எல்லாரும் சொன்னார்கள்; உடனே கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை ஆசரிப்புக்கூடாரத்தில் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் எல்லாருக்கும் முன்பாகக் காணப்பட்டது.

10. And all the congregation said to stone them with stones; and the glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud on the tabernacle of witness to all the children of Israel.

11. கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: எதுவரைக்கும் இந்த ஜனங்கள் எனக்குக் கோபம் உண்டாக்குவார்கள்? தங்களுக்குள்ளே நான் காட்டின சகல அடையாளங்களையும் அவர்கள் கண்டும், எதுவரைக்கும் என்னை விசுவாசியாதிருப்பார்கள்?

11. And the Lord said to Moses, How long will these people provoke Me? And how long do they refuse to believe Me for all the signs which I have done among them?

12. நான் அவர்களைக் கொள்ளைநோயினால் வாதித்து, சுதந்தரத்துக்குப் பறம்பாக்கிப்போட்டு, அவர்களைப்பார்க்கிலும் உன்னைப் பெரிதும் பலத்ததுமான ஜாதியாக்குவேன் என்றார்.

12. I will smite them with death, and destroy them; and I will make of you and of your father's house a great nation, and much greater than this.

13. மோசே கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: எகிப்தியர் இதைக் கேட்பார்கள், அவர்கள் நடுவிலிருந்து உம்முடைய வல்லமையினாலே இந்த ஜனங்களைக் கொண்டுவந்தீரே.

13. And Moses said to the Lord, So Egypt shall hear, for You have brought up this people from them by Your might.

14. கர்த்தராகிய நீர் இந்த ஜனங்களின் நடுவே இருக்கிறதையும், கர்த்தராகிய நீர் முகமுகமாய்த் தரிசனமாகிறதையும், உம்முடைய மேகம் இவர்கள்மேல் நிற்கிறதையும், பகலில் மேகத்தூணிலும், இரவில் அக்கினித்தூணிலும், நீர் இவர்களுக்கு முன் செல்லுகிறதையும் கேட்டிருக்கிறார்கள்; இந்த தேசத்தின் குடிகளுக்கும் சொல்லுவார்கள்.

14. Moreover all the inhabitants of this land have heard that You are Lord in the midst of this people, who, O Lord, are seen [by them] face to face, and Your cloud rests upon them, and You go before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, and by night in a pillar of fire.

15. ஒரே மனிதனைக் கொல்லுகிறது போல இந்த ஜனங்களையெல்லாம் நீர் கொல்வீரானால், அப்பொழுது உம்முடைய கீர்த்தியைக் கேட்டிருக்கும் புறஜாதியார்:

15. And [if] You shall destroy this nation as one man; then all the nations that have heard Your name shall speak, saying,

16. கர்த்தர் அந்த ஜனங்களுக்குக் கொடுப்போம் என்று ஆணையிட்டிருந்த தேசத்திலே அவர்களைக் கொண்டுபோய்விடக்கூடாதே போனபடியினால், அவர்களை வனாந்தரத்திலே கொன்றுபோட்டார் என்பார்களே.
1 கொரிந்தியர் 10:5

16. Because the Lord could not bring this people into the land which He swore to them, He has overthrown them in the wilderness.

17. ஆகையால் கர்த்தர் நீடிய சாந்தமும் மிகுந்த கிருபையுமுள்ளவர் என்றும், அக்கிரமத்தையும் மீறுதலையும் மன்னிக்கிறவர் என்றும், குற்றமுள்ளவர்களைக் குற்றமற்றவர்களாக விடாமல், பிதாக்கள் செய்த அக்கிரமத்தைப் பிள்ளைகளிடத்தில் மூன்றாம் நான்காம் தலைமுறைமட்டும் விசாரிக்கிறவர் என்றும், நீர் சொல்லியிருக்கிறபடியே,

17. And now, O Lord, let Your strength be exalted, as You spoke, saying,

18. என் ஆண்டவருடைய வல்லமை பெரிதாய் விளங்குவதாக.

18. The Lord [is] longsuffering and merciful, and true, removing transgressions and iniquities and sins, and He shall by no means clear the guilty, visiting the sins of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation.

19. உமது கிருபையினுடைய மகத்துவத்தின்படியேயும், எகிப்தை விட்டதுமுதல் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் இந்த ஜனங்களுக்கு மன்னித்து வந்ததின்படியேயும், இந்த ஜனங்களின் அக்கிரமத்தை மன்னித்தருளும் என்றான்.

19. Forgive this people their sin according to Your great mercy, as You were favorable to them from Egypt until now.

20. அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர்: உன் வார்த்தையின்படியே மன்னித்தேன்.

20. And the Lord said to Moses, I am gracious to them according to your word.

21. பூமியெல்லாம் கர்த்தருடைய மகிமையினால் நிறைந்திருக்கும் என்று என்னுடைய ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன்.
எபிரேயர் 3:11

21. But [as] I live, and as My name lives, so the glory of the Lord shall fill all the earth.

22. என் மகிமையையும், நான் எகிப்திலும் வனாந்தரத்திலும் செய்த என் அடையாளங்களையும் கண்டிருந்தும், என் சத்தத்துக்குச் செவிகொடாமல், இதனோடே பத்துமுறை என்னைப் பரீட்சைபார்த்த மனிதரில் ஒருவரும்,

22. For all the men who see My glory, and the signs which I have done in Egypt, and in the wilderness, and have tempted Me this tenth time, and have not hearkened to My voice,

23. அவர்கள் பிதாக்களுக்கு நான் ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுத்த தேசத்தைக் காணமாட்டார்கள்; எனக்குக் கோபம் உண்டாக்கினவர்களில் ஒருவரும் அதைக் காணமாட்டார்கள்.

23. surely they shall not see the land, which I swore to their fathers; but their children which are with Me here, as many as know not good or evil, every inexperienced youth, to them shall I give the land; but none who have provoked Me shall see it.

24. என்னுடைய தாசனாகிய காலேப் வேறே ஆவியை உடையவனாயிருக்கிறபடியினாலும், உத்தமமாய் என்னைப் பின்பற்றி வந்தபடியினாலும், அவன் போய் வந்த தேசத்திலே அவனைச் சேரப்பண்ணுவேன்; அவன் சந்ததியார் அதைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளுவார்கள்.

24. But My servant Caleb, because there was another spirit in him, and he followed Me, I will bring him into the land into which he entered, and his seed shall inherit it.

25. அமலேக்கியரும் கானானியரும் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே குடியிருக்கிறபடியினால், நாளைக்கு நீங்கள் திரும்பி சிவந்த சமுத்திரத்துக்குப் போகிற வழியாய் வனாந்தரத்துக்குப் பிரயாணம்பண்ணுங்கள் என்றார்.

25. But Amalek and the Canaanite dwell in the valley. Tomorrow, turn and depart for the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea.

26. பின்னும் கர்த்தர் மோசேயையும் ஆரோனையும் நோக்கி:

26. And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,

27. எனக்கு விரோதமாய் முறுமுறுக்கிற இந்தப் பொல்லாத சபையாரை எதுவரைக்கும் பொறுப்பேன்? இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் எனக்கு விரோதமாய் முறுமுறுக்கிறதைக் கேட்டேன்.

27. How long [shall I endure] this wicked congregation? I have heard their murmurings against Me, [even] the murmuring of the children of Israel, which they have murmured concerning you.

28. நீ அவர்களோடே சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்: நீங்கள் என் செவிகள் கேட்கச் சொன்ன பிரகாரம் உங்களுக்குச் செய்வேன் என்பதை என் ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன் என்று கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறார்.

28. Say to them, [As] I live, says the Lord, surely as you spoke into My ears, so will I do to you.

29. இந்த வனாந்தரத்தில் உங்கள் பிரேதங்கள் விழும்; உங்களில் இருபது வயது முதல் அதற்கு மேற்பட்டவர்களாக எண்ணப்பட்டு, உங்கள் தொகைக்கு உட்பட்டவர்களும் எனக்கு விரோதமாய் முறுமுறுத்திருக்கிறவர்களுமாகிய அனைவரின் பிரேதங்களும் விழும்.

29. Your caracasses shall fall in this wilderness; and all those of you that were reviewed, and those of you that were numbered from twenty years old and upward, all that murmured against Me,

30. எப்புன்னேயின் குமாரன் காலேபும், நூனின் குமாரன் யோசுவாவும் தவிர, மற்றவர்களாகிய நீங்கள் நான் உங்களைக் குடியேற்றுவேன் என்று ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுத்த தேசத்தில் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை.

30. you shall not enter into the land for which I stretched out My hand to establish you upon it; except only Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

31. கொள்ளையாவார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் சொன்ன உங்கள் குழந்தைகளையோ நான் அதில் பிரவேசிக்கச் செய்வேன்; நீங்கள் அசட்டைப்பண்ணின தேசத்தை அவர்கள் கண்டறிவார்கள்.

31. And your little ones, who you said should be a prey, them will I bring into the land; and they shall inherit the land, which you rejected.

32. உங்கள் பிரேதங்களோ இந்த வனாந்தரத்திலே விழும்.

32. And your caracasses shall fall in this wilderness.

33. அவைகள் வனாந்தரத்திலே விழுந்து தீருமட்டும், உங்கள் பிள்ளைகள் நாற்பது வருஷம் வனாந்தரத்திலே திரிந்து, நீங்கள் சோரம்போன பாதகத்தைச் சுமப்பார்கள்.

33. And your sons shall be fed in the wilderness forty years, and they shall bear your fornication, until your caracasses are consumed in the wilderness.

34. நீங்கள் தேசத்தைச் சுற்றிப்பார்த்த நாற்பதுநாள் இலக்கத்தின்படியே, ஒவ்வொரு நாள் ஒவ்வொரு வருஷமாக, நீங்கள் நாற்பது வருஷம் உங்கள் அக்கிரமங்களைச் சுமந்து, என் உடன்படிக்கைக்கு வந்த மாறுதலை உணருவீர்கள்.

34. According to the number of the days during which you spied the land, forty days, a day for a year, you shall bear your sins forty years, and you shall know My fierce anger.

35. I the Lord have spoken, Surely will I do thus to this evil congregation that has risen up together against Me. In this wilderness they shall be utterly consumed, and there they shall die.

36. அந்தத் தேசத்தைச் சோதித்துப் பார்க்கும்படி மோசேயால் அனுப்பப்பட்டுத் திரும்பி, அந்தத் தேசத்தைக்குறித்துத் துர்ச்செய்தி கொண்டுவந்து,

36. And the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land, and who came and murmured against it to the assembly so as to bring out evil words concerning the land,

37. சபையார் எல்லாரும் அவனுக்கு விரோதமாய் முறுமுறுக்கும்படி அந்தத் துர்ச்செய்தியைச் சொன்னவர்களாகிய அந்த மனிதர் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் வாதையினால் செத்தார்கள்.

37. the men that spoke evil reports against the land, died of the plague before the Lord.

38. தேசத்தைச் சுற்றிப் பார்க்கப்போன அந்த மனிதரில் நூனின் குமாரனாகிய யோசுவாவும், எப்புன்னேயின் குமாரனாகிய காலேபும் மாத்திரம் உயிரோடிருந்தார்கள்.

38. And Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh [still] lived of those men that went to spy out the land.

39. மோசே இந்த வார்த்தைகளை இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் அனைவரோடும் சொன்னபோது, ஜனங்கள் மிகவும் துக்கித்தார்கள்.

39. And Moses spoke these words to all the children of Israel; and the people mourned exceedingly.

40. அதிகாலமே அவர்கள் எழுந்திருந்து: நாங்கள் பாவஞ்செய்தோம், கர்த்தர் வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணின இடத்துக்கு நாங்கள் போவோம் என்று சொல்லி மலையின் உச்சியில் ஏறத்துணிந்தார்கள்.

40. And they rose early in the morning and went up to the top of the mountain, saying, Behold, we that are here will go up to the place of which the Lord has spoken, because we have sinned.

41. மோசே அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் இப்படி கர்த்தரின் கட்டளையை மீறுகிறதென்ன? அது உங்களுக்கு வாய்க்காது.

41. And Moses said, Why do you transgress the word of the Lord? You shall not prosper.

42. நீங்கள் உங்கள் சத்துருக்களுக்கு முன்பாக முறிய அடிக்கப்படாதபடிக்கு ஏறிப்போகாதிருங்கள்; கர்த்தர் உங்கள் நடுவில் இரார்.

42. Do not go up, for the Lord is not with you; so shall you fall before the face of your enemies.

43. அமலேக்கியரும் கானானியரும் அங்கே உங்களுக்குமுன்னே இருக்கிறார்கள்; பட்டயத்தினால் விழுவீர்கள்; நீங்கள் கர்த்தரை விட்டுப் பின்வாங்கினபடியால், கர்த்தர் உங்களோடே இருக்கமாட்டார் என்றான்.

43. For Amalek and the Canaanite [are] there before you, and you shall fall by the sword; because you have disobeyed the Lord and turned aside, and the Lord will not be among you.

44. ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் மலையின் உச்சியில் ஏறத் துணிந்தார்கள்; கர்த்தருடைய உடன்படிக்கையின் பெட்டியும் மோசேயும் பாளயத்தை விட்டுப்போகவில்லை.

44. And having forced their passage, they went up to the top of the mountain; but the ark of the covenant of the Lord and Moses stirred not out of the camp.

45. அப்பொழுது அமலேக்கியரும் கானானியாரும் அந்த மலையிலே இருந்து இறங்கி வந்து, அவர்களை முறிய அடித்து, அவர்களை ஓர்மாமட்டும் துரத்தினார்கள்.

45. And Amalek and the Canaanite that dwelt in that mountain came down, and routed them, and destroyed them unto Herman; and they returned to the camp.
